My fiancé and I had initially planned to marry at my parents' farm, but with only three months to plan our wedding, I was stressed at the amount of work that would have to go into the yard, the house, etc, before hosting a wedding. At the same... time, no place that we looked felt as comfortable as home. No place seemed to fit....until we visited Debi and Charles Taylor at Historic Taylor Farm.
First of all, their entire approach set us ALL at ease from our first meeting. When I told Deb some of the non-traditional ideas I had for our ceremony and party, she was immediately on board and ready to do what she could to make our day a beautiful success.
And then there is the physical space of the farm and the barn--the perfect setting for our elegant, vintage, ice-cream social-inspired garden party. From the beauty and tranquility of the 150 year stone barn to the peace of parisian gypsy jazz floating on the wind through the tall trees at sunset...the entire day seems like a dream now. This is easily the best-kept secret in the Lawrence/Kansas City area, and I would recommend working with them in a heartbeat!
