ator, was the person who really made the day easy to plan and made it all run smoothly. He was helpful, friendly, and checked on us throughout the weekend (and throughout the entire planing process!) to ensure everything went off without a hitch. Thank you, Sam Swiftney! Their food is to die for (we had a buffet, but they also offer plated meals too). Everyone complimented us on the yummy food. The bar staff was friendly, despite our somewhat rowdy bunch! The rooms are spacious and clean. The grand ballroom was the perfect place for our daytime reception and had plenty of room for all 90+ guests and even our ridiculously-sized 18 person wedding party! The hotel itself is beautiful and sits on a beautiful waterfront view. This venue was perfect for us!

thin 24 hours with an incredible amount of flexibility. The biggest decision for our day (where to have the ceremony/reception) was the easiest because of the staff and management. Every detail was treated as though it were the most important. The atmosphere and food were nothing short of perfect!

There were a number of things that went wrong while at the Holiday Inn. My husba...
nd and I spent a lot of money having our reception there and feel that it was not well spent.
First, all three of our rings were stolen by one of the Holiday Inn workers while our room was being fumigated because of bugs in the room! Both of our immediate families were distressed about this, not to mention there were a lot of unnecessary tears over it. This situation would have been handled differently if it were not my wedding day. Our food for the reception was not as we ordered it. Also for our complimentary room, the package stated that we were supposed to get strawberries and champagne. We did not receive either of those. I had to work with 3 different "wedding planners" since I started working towards planning my reception at this hotel and this was very frustrating. I had to restate our "order" with each planner and still there were mix-ups. Next, the hotels description of how many people the ballroom holds is incorrect. I had a total of 157 people. I believe the room was set up for 160 and I was not happy with how much room we had. The room was very tight and the description should be changed for future brides who unfortunately choose to hold it at the Holiday Inn, Spring Lake. I was not offered any compensation for all of these inconveniences that were endured throughout the course of our wedding day.
Planning a wedding is a very stressful and emotional event. Myself, my husband and our immediate families experienced undue stress especially over the theft of the rings. We were all late for the wedding pictures because so much time was spent searching the room for the rings. I would have liked to come back for our future anniversaries but this will not be happening due to the way we were treated at this hotel.
