Our DJ was Bob, and he was absolutely amazing! He was so nice and made sure everything ran smoothly! He truly cared and made sure that my husband and I had all that we needed, coming up to us during the evening to check in. These little things made the biggest difference on our wedding day. I can't thank Bob enough for all he did to make this day amazing. I highly recommend Horizon Entertainment and know you would love them as much as my husband and I did!

Grant was amazing! He meet with us before the wedding and was able to get to know us and our vision a little bit before the big day. He gave us ideas to think about and no judgement to anything we wanted. We only gave a couple songs for the reception and told him to just get the vibe on what works and what doesn't. Let me tell you, our dance floor was FULL all night and I was swore the next day from dancing so much. He was a great addition to our day!

Horizon hooked us up with DJ Dixon, and we had the time of our lives! Very friendly, very professional, communicated clearly with us and the speakers at our reception, and most importantly really got the party going! He did little extra things, like for example he offered to let me try and mix a track. I like the idea but didn't want to do it and he relented without much more pressure. So he definitely helped us elevate our night while still listening and letting us do it as we wanted 5/5 would recommend to anyone.

Horizon was a great pick for a DJ. They were very affordable compared to other companies, and provided exactly what we wanted. Grant was great, we forgot to add a small section of our reception in the plan, and he was able to incorporate everything on the fly. Highly recommend!

Grant was amazing! He helped ease our anxieties at both pre wedding planning meetings. He reviewed our playlists with a keen eye and continued to play to our vibe throughout the entire night. He handled our crazy guests requesting songs left and right so well. Many of our guests said it was the most fun wedding they have been to, which was largely in part to the music. Brandon was our dj for the night and he absolutely KILLED IT! We sent him a playlist of songs during our meeting, gave him some ideas, and he ran with it! The dancefloor was full all night and the vibes were amazing! Everyone loved him and he brought fantastic energy! Cannot recommend him enough!!

Narnia was great with pre-planning and answering all my questions! Our DJ, Dustin was absolutely fantastic!! He was super helpful with planning our reception songs and also a great DJ with helping to get the crowd up and moving. Dustin was just amazing with handling my last minute changes and helping me throughout the evening. I am so happy to have worked with Horizon!

We loved working with Grant! He was an amazing DJ and helped us make our wedding a blast. Grant had great insight and helped us plan the music throughout the entire ceremony and reception. We met before the wedding to go over details and he really helped us personalize our wedding and make it the wedding of our dreams. He really incorporated our non traditional wedding reception songs at the perfect times and even gave one of our guests a mic to sing to a song (at our request) .

We were married at Cincinnati Museum Center and we hired Horizon Entertainment to do our wedding. When we were vetting DJs for our event, we originally talked with the owner, Rick, about our event and he provided us with a great deal of confidence that his team would be perfect for our event. For the actual event, Noah, was our DJ. We got married in the Grand Rotunda of Cincinnati Museum Center, which is a large, domed room which can be a problem for sound projection and echo. We were aware of this before our event and in talking with Rick during the vetting process, he assured us that he did not see this as a concern and he would be able to handle any space like this with the equipment that his company has and would be able to direct the sound appropriately to eliminate any potential issues. We even discussed with Noah in the weeks before the wedding the fact that we were concerned with the potential for echo or poor sound quality and we wanted to make sure that he was prepared for the space, since it is definitely not the same as a basic reception hall. Noah did not seem overly concerned, but he didn't project much confidence either. On the day of our event, we found that it was virtually impossible to hear people speaking during speeches, or any announcements from the DJ, unless they were seated directly in-line with his speakers. We didn't realize this, however, until it was too late. Probably only about half of our guests were able to hear the toasts from the best man and maid of honor, or anything else that was said over the microphone after the ceremony. Additionally, we created a list of "Must Play" (probably about 8 songs) and "Do Not Play" songs through Horizon's website, but we found as the night was winding down that a bunch of our must play songs had never been played. We went up to Noah and specifically asked to play a handful of these songs, which he did, but it was disappointing that we had to go up and request them after putting them in the "Must Play" list ahead of the wedding. We were a little disappointed overall with Horizon for our wedding. We stressed on numerous occasions, almost to the point that I felt like I was being overbearing, about our concerns for the sound quality in the room we were in. We received plenty of assurances that there wouldn't be a problem, but at the end of the day, it was a problem still. Taking away the unique design of the room and the fact that it would be more difficult to project sound effectively in the space, it was disappointing to have to go up and request songs to be played that were added to a "Must Play" list. There are plenty of glowing reviews of Horizon online, which is part of the reason why we chose them, so maybe we just got unlucky and you'll have a better experience with a different DJ from their team, or in a different venue, but we left a little bummed out with how things went.

Rick was the best DJ we could have asked for. He worked with us very well in organizing what we needed due to all the restrictions. He was incredibly considerate of what we wanted and gave us exactly what we wanted.

What a great night with Rick! He adapted very well to our crowd and a couple of odd requests. We had such a blast and he was a huge asset to such a memorable night. I would recommend him for any wedding or event!

I'm a Cincinnati wedding coordinator and I had the pleasure of working with Rick at a wedding this past weekend on 10/17/20. Not only was he very professional and helpful, he was extremely organized which helped to keep everything on track. Rick provided mic services for the ceremony and was the DJ for the reception as well. As a vendor myself, I appreciated his attention to detail and passion to help the bride and groom have the wedding of their dreams.

Horizon Entertainment was absolutely amazing to work with during hectic wedding planning and a global pandemic. Rick was the utmost professional who made everything flow smoothly from the start of the planning process to the very last dance. Choosing music off of Horizon’s website was fun. It was easy to create our request list and the special details of our day when it was convenient for us. From the moment Rick met us at the reception door, I was able to relax and enjoy our guests. Rick had food ready for us upon arrival, carried my plate, and kept the day moving smoothly. I am sure a million questions came up, but he handled them all and I was able to fully enjoy our big day. Even with COVID regulations, Rick came up with fun and innovative ways to keep our guests in the spirit. We had a Battle of the College Fight Songs instead of a dollar dance and raised $350 for charity. Brian and I truly felt taken care of and had a worry free reception with Rick in charge.

Rick was amazing from before the wedding all the way through the reception. Really took control of things with the photographer and everyone involved to make sure it was perfect. He even offered to wrangle my bride who was working the room while I ate. Made sure our drinks were full and we had everything we needed. Really took a lot of our plate and helped make the day perfect.

We can't thank Rick enough for everything he did for our wedding, from answering constant questions, to helping us with the timeline, to just being a great DJ and person on our wedding day. Rick asked us what type of music we wanted and we were lost, but he guided us along the way, and he delivered a great up-beat party that kept the dance floor as full as it could be during a pandemic. He was very open about where he would set up and still did an amazing job while be stuck behind the bar due to spacing limitations. He even helped in ways we never expected a DJ to help, from making sure everything was moving well to simply making sure our glasses were always full and even carrying Kelsey's food to the table so she didn't accidentally get anything on herself. We couldn't have picked a better DJ or person for our day. Rick is awesome and I couldn't recommend him enough.

Rick was an outstanding mc/ dj for my daughter’s wedding!!!! He was extremely courteous but kept the process moving and, speaking of moving, I’ve never been to a reception that had so many happy people on the dance floor! We never felt like we had a need for anything because he was right there to assist with things from helping the wedding planner to refilling our glasses without us even having to ask and everything in between. Rick Pate is an excellent choice for music at an event. I've been to events where he has chosen the music and ones where a couple has chosen the music. He has a great personality so he makes the event serious and/or fun. I love his personality and enthusiasm. He will be out there if that is needed or behind the scenes. He's a great choice and I've enjoyed listening to him and his music.

As a wedding coordinator I work with many different DJs around the tri-state. However, every single client that uses this DJ ALWAYS remembers & talks about what an amazing time they had and how fun the music was that night. Rick goes out of his way to not only customize a package for each individual client, but to also put a personal touch on each experience as well. I've even seen him getting his clients their drinks. At the last wedding that Rick and I worked together on, the client had purchased Bistro lights that unfortunately stopped working right before the cocktail hour. With Rick's quick thinking and ingenuity we were able to get these lights up and running just before the reception began. He saved the day and the clients were incredibly & blissfully happy. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Rick with Horizon Entertainment. From my first interaction with him, he was professional, accommodating, and very pleasant. Over the course of the wedding planning process, he was very responsive with questions and was flexible in happily allowing us to add lighting to our package on short notice. We knew we were in good hands after our meeting with Rick prior to our wedding, and this took a huge weight off of our shoulders. At the wedding, Rick was much more than "just a DJ." He made sure the night went smoothly, from refilling our drinks, checking on guests, keeping us on schedule with our itinerary (and making adjustments as necessary) and much more. I highly recommend Horizon Entertainment. We had Grant as our DJ this last weekend and he did a great job making sure the night went smoothly. He went above and beyond the typical DJ role. He met with us twice prior to the wedding day to explain services and get an idea of what we wanted for the big day. On the day of the wedding he frequently checked on the bridal party, walked us through what to do, coordinated with other vendors, and helped to ease some of my stress by taking care of things that needed to be done. This was a valuable aspect that I do not think a lot of DJs would take the time or make the effort to do! We also heard several compliments from our guests!

BEST DJ!!! From our first planning meeting with Rick, we knew we made the right decision hiring him! Rick went above and beyond for us and was so friendly and professional! All of our guests have made compliments on how great the dance floor was all night! From a bride and groom aspect, Rick went the extra mile to make the ceremony and reception run smoothly! The ceremony was in a garden with no outlets and Rick worked with us so music could play for our processional and recessional. There were multiple songs that we had incorporated to the ceremony and all cues were met and the sound volume was perfect. Our reception was at Rhinegeist Brewery and from the beginning of the dancing to the end (3.5 hours) it was filled!!! We had a 28 person head table and, throughout the entire dinner, Rick was making sure everyone had drinks and made sure everyone was doing well! He didn’t just make us feel very special but made the whole bridal party feel special which we loved! He made sure to keep on eye on us and get us back on the dance floor throughout the night too! We had brought glow sticks that we didn’t realize needed to be assembled so Rick and my husband put together about 200 glow sticks! We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ! We promise hiring Horizon Entertainment will be one of the best decisions for your wedding day! Thank you for everything Rick!!!!

We loved working with Grant! We met about two weeks before our wedding to go over a lot of details, and the day of was perfection. He played prelude and introduction music for our ceremony, and then kept the music going all night long through our reception and dance party! A special touch was the anniversary dance, where we had 3 couples with over 50 years of marriage left on the dance floor! They all gave us advice on having a long and happy marriage. The Horizon website is easy to use and made it simple to request songs and share the wedding day timeline. Would hire again!

Grant was THE BEST!! We couldn't have asked for a more perfect DJ for our wedding ceremony and reception. He made everything so easy and we got so many compliments from our guests about how good the music was. During our consultation with Grant, one thing we made clear was that it was important that our music wasn't too loud so that the people who don't dance were able to have conversation. The volume was perfect and we didn't have to ask him to adjust at all. Our grandparents all made comments about how nice it was that the music was not too loud. Grant kept the party going and cleared it with us if our friends had ridiculous requests. He checked in with us throughout the night and even got us drinks several times, which was so thoughtful and not something we would expect a DJ to even worry about! We had Grant as our DJ and he was absolutely incredible!!! He had people on the dance floor the entire time! I also suffer from migraines and he was checking in on me throughout the night to make sure the volume & lights were okay and that we were having a good time. Rick was AMAZING!! He definitely made our day magical. From the first time we met with him, we knew Horizon Entertainment would be the finishing touch to our perfect day. There was a chance of rain on our wedding day. When Rick came to check on the decision to keep the ceremony outside or move it in, he was very sweet. He reassured us, either way it would be beautiful! He brought our bridal party a drink before the ceremony and the awesome service continued through out the night. The music was amazing and he kept us on track to have the night of our lives. Thank you so much!

Dave was fantastic! From our first meeting, he was so personable and wonderful to work with. Horizon Entertainment has a great online request system that we and our guests were able to use, and Dave accommodated the requests and kept our guests dancing all night. Horizon Entertainment was a great value, too. Highly recommended!

Corey was a fantastic DJ, but not just that, he was so helpful in planning our perfect reception! Both my husband and I were clueless about planning a reception, but Corey gave us a lot of ideas, direction, and support in putting together a great timeline. The flow of the night was perfect. Corey played all of the songs we requested and kept everyone on the dance floor. He even carried my plate as I walked through the buffet! We could not have had such a seamless, perfect night without his support. Very professional, responsive, and a GREAT price. Definitely recommend using him!

Corey did a fantastic job. I thought the DJ would show up and play music, but he did so much more than that. He made sure our reception stayed on track with our schedule, ensuring everything (bouquet toss, cake cutting, etc.) occurred before our photographer left. He would come find us and let us know how much time until the next event was happening. He walked through the dinner line with me (bride) and made my plate to ensure I wouldn't spill anything on my dress (I didn't ask him to do this). He got us drinks throughout the night. He suggested we get sunset pictures outside, which turned out great. Corey went well above my expectations for a DJ service. I would highly recommend Horizon Entertainment for a wedding reception.

Horizon entertainment and my DJ Grant were awesome! We met with Grant about 2 weeks before the wedding and we were at ease from the moment we met. You can tell he really knows what he's doing and really cares about making your day perfect! Also, their wedding planning website is amazing!! You can allow guests to submit requests, make your playlist, and write a schedule of events. So easy to use! Wonderful company!

Corey from Horizon Entertainment was the DJ for our wedding, and he could not have done a better job. The music was perfect, and our dance floor was always full. He took all of our input leading up to the wedding, using the playlist we had made, and incorporating similar style songs. Although we had laid out a time line before the wedding, he still quietly appeared by our sides when we had a free moment to double check if we were okay with proceeding as planned. He went above and beyond the expected role of a DJ. He brought us drinks when we were too caught up in the day's activities to make it over to the bar, and he encouraged us to take the time to enjoy our dinner. Horizon Entertainment was great to work with. We were able to request songs that we wanted to play beforehand as well as letting our guests request certain songs, and the audio sounded great. Rick was a pleasure to work with, he was willing to help us out with anything we needed whether it was keeping us informed of what we should be doing at what time so we didn’t have to worry about it, or helping me (the bride) get food. I would definitely recommend them to anyone planning a wedding. Our guests had a great time, and were on the dance floor until the last song.

Horizon Entertainment was a great company to work with for our wedding, both ceremony and reception. I met with Corey who was friendly and really sold me on going with them as our DJ. Horizon Entertainment doesn't have any of those added charges to "upgrade" your DJ and they don't charge you per hour. Ultimately, Rick ended up DJing our ceremony and wedding. He was great. He met with us before the wedding to go over everything and talk about any concerns. He was fantastic during the reception and made sure the whole evening stayed on track which was awesome because the big day can be a bit chaotic to say the least. I would highly recommend Horizon Entertainment. They are awesome DJs/guys for half the price of other companies out there - other companies that just seem to want to nickel and dime you to a ridiculous level. I would hire Horizon again in a heartbeat.

My husband and I chose to go with Horizon Entertainment after doing some thorough research in the Cincinnati/Dayton area. They already had the best reviews and we decided they also had the best pricing. They were worth every penny. David was our DJ and he did his job superbly. We lived out of town from where we were getting married and David did a face time meeting with us since we couldn't go to him. He asked us all the right questions and went above and beyond my expectations. We had a lot of family and family friends at our wedding that were close to my parents age and he had them out on the dance floor the WHOLE time! My dad even asked him to extend the music for another half hour just so we could party a little longer. David was on time, played the right music we had requested, and kept the reception activities flowing smoothly. I have zero complaints.

Corey was fantastic! He kept our reception moving from beginning to end. His online software is so easy to use to help build your dream reception. Not only is he one of the most affordable DJs in the area, but one of the very best! We will keep Horizon in mind for all our DJ needs in the future!

Rick from Horizon Entertainment DJ'ed our wedding ceremony and reception for us and we couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out! I loved their online planning website, especially since I was planning our wedding from out of state. I was able to pick all the music for the ceremony and reception with ease and my guests were able to submit requests beforehand. Everything went smoothly and Rick kept the reception events on time and going strong, he played music that kept our guests on the dance floor until the very end of the reception. Long review, I know, but consider the time it takes to read this as research. ANYONE who cares about music should read on... From the start, my wife and I knew that the music was the most important thing about the reception, maybe even the entire wedding. We were on a budget and didn't want to have to shell out top dollar for a few hours of music. We narrowed the field and interviewed several companies on The Knot website, including recommended and non-recommended. One of whom was Rick at Horizon Entertainment. From the start he was nothing but professional, personable, and truly understood what we, the customer, required. Nothing but class, a great impression from the very beginning. You can tell he is someone who truly loves his job. We were torn between two companies, but one thing Rick said stood out to us: While he was just a DJ, he saw himself as a reception coordinator, because the last thing we would want to worry about is all the fuss the day of. This tipped the scales, we committed, and we never looked back. We followed up a few times as we had a lengthy engagement, and we met with him in person a second time about a month away from the event, just to tie up loose ends. The website works well, and is set up similar to other companies, a must play, play if time, and do not play. Pretty self-explanatory. You specify which songs are "special", ie first dance, last dance, cutting cake, etc. Rick stayed true to his promise. The reception coordinator seemed to drop the ball several times with little things, and Rick would frequently test the water to make sure A) We weren't freaking out and B) there wasn't anything he could do to make the night better. He would entertain the crowd, get us drinks, it was great. While we didn't want to take advantage of it too much, it was a nice option to have. Oh, and then the music. We were left with about half the time available to play all of our must-play songs, but Rick planned ahead, seeing this dilemma, and did a great job transitioning between songs. To make up for time, he wouldn't play the song in its entirety. This gave a much more diverse song selection than it would otherwise, and kept things fresh. The last ten minutes felt like a frenzy, everyone was on the dance floor, and you could tell that Rick wanted to get as many songs in as possible! We must've flown through 8 songs! It was a great way to end it! We received nothing but compliments about the DJ. The dance floor was packed all night long (not an exaggeration, believe me), the music flowed very well, and we got to hear nearly all of the songs on our list. He took every opportunity to let us enjoy the night by taking some stress away, and nothing but professional from start to end. A great last impression for our wedding guests.

I could not be happier with our choice in Horizon Entertainment. I received several quotes from various DJ's and I have to admit that I was skeptical because of the low price. I was blown away. The guys were so nice and answered any and all questions we had. They gave great suggestions and helped guide us through a reception timeline.
