Michael did a fantastic job DJ'ing our wedding and kept our guests dancing all night! He had a simple website used to plan and communicate all of the music. He met with us a few weeks before the wedding to review the timeline and some of the important songs and always responded quickly when we had questions or wanted his input on song choices. He has extensive experience with weddings and other events and it showed. He kept the evening flowing nicely and let the music do the talking for him, which is exactly what we asked for. Overall, we would recommend Horizon (Michael) to all of our family and friends looking for a DJ in the DC area.

If you are looking for the best DJ in town, then look no further. Michael is the absolute best. Michael was an exceptional DJ; he listened to what we wanted and he kept the guests on the dance floor the entire evening. Our guests raved about how wonderful our DJ was. He has a fantastic Bose sound system which made the music so clear. My brother was so impressed that he booked him for his wedding in NC. We just returned from that wedding, and Michael is STILL the best!!! This time we also experienced Michael playing for the actual ceremony and then for the reception he had his up-lighting which made for an even more fantastic mood setting!! And again, the guests raved about how he knew exactly what to play to keep the crowd on the dance floor. This DJ deserves more than 5 stars. We would highly recommend him.

Jay the DJ from Horizon was a disaster. He did not have an updated schedule and had no idea what was going on even though the last update was submitted well in advance of the deadline. It was one in the afternoon and he said "good evening" and "this evening" two or three times at the beginning of the reception. He announced that dinner was being served, even though it was one in the afternoon and clearly a buffet. He announced the maid of honor and best man using the names of the bride and groom. He had no idea what the song was for the father/daughter dance was even though it was submitted on line with the schedule. As a result, he did not have the correct version available. When I asked him what people normally do for the Grand Exit, his response was a shoulder shrug and an "I don't know". We met him at a wedding expo eight months before the wedding, so I doubt this was his first one. All of this could have been avoided if he, or someone else, had responded to our and emails the week prior to the wedding (we tried to call, but your voice mail box was full) instead of waiting until late in the afternoon on Friday before the wedding, at which point, he merely left a voice mail on my daughter's phone and made no attempt to make personal contact. In the emails, we specifically asked for confirmation that he knew the schedule. He was also on his phone for a good part of the reception and made no attempt to actually MC the event. He merely announced what was going to happen (after being prompted and reminded, since he did not have the updated schedule. I understand that everyone has bad days now and then, but he is a professional, and we paid a lot of money for him to NOT have a bad day.

These guys nearly ruined our wedding. The DJ was TERRIBLE. He didn't have the schedule (even though we submitted it online via their instructions WELL in advance), had no idea what he was doing, played the wrong song for my father-daughter dance, announced the wrong names as the wedding party entered, AND was rude to our guests. Don't waste your money!

Michael set our wedding on FIRE!!! All of our family and friends in attendance had nothing but great things to say. One of my good buddies came up and said "Man, you guys did well hiring a DJ who doubles as a hype man!" What a treat it was to not have to worry about the songs that would be played and whether there would be dead/awkward silence. Michael really knows what he is doing and how to integrate the music selection with the crowd. Our guests were of all different backgrounds...Caucasian, African American, Hispanic, Middle Eastern, Asian, you name it!!! Michael had everyone on their feet and having a grand ol' time. I would highly recommend Horizon for your special day!

Michael from Horizon Music Fest did the music for our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. We skyped with him a week before to talk about our expectations and for him to get to know us a little. He clearly listened to what we wanted because he did wonderfully. I was nervous that we didn't give him a lot of song choices for the reception but he read the crowd perfectly and made great choices himself. He did an amazing job and we would definitely recommend him!

We met Mike ("Tupper") at the Dulles Expo Center at a Bridal show a year before our wedding. We fell in love with his personality and the ease at which it was to talk to him. He also showed us his equipment and really seemed to know his stuff. He also expressed that he had experience DJing for beach weddings (This was critical). He was amazing at meeting with us in advance to go over last minute details. He also indulged a couple last minute changes, including a surprise request by my father. This man lived up to the image that we had in our mind. He was on his game the whole time...didn't over talk and when he did he was charming and entertaining. We also had some very specific requests in terms of when to start and stop our entrance/first dance song and how we wanted him to present it...He just went with the flow. A true professional, but allowed us to really make it our day. The man does not disappoint.

If I could rate Horizon below 1 star, I would. Steer clear of Horizon Entertainment! The DJ they provided was terrible and they seem unwilling to do anything to make it right. My wife and I hired a DJ from Horizon Entertainment to provide some simple DJ/MC services during our wedding ceremony and reception. We met with our DJ twice before our event and felt good about the level of confidence and expertise they showed. Unfortunately, on our wedding day, that person was nowhere to be found. Our DJ was there in body, but not in mind. During the wedding procession he played the songs in the wrong order and when it was time to switch songs, stopped them abruptly and left us with dead air, rather than fading the songs in and out. Our DJ was late making the announcements we needed made, and their speech was mumbled and unintelligible for our guests. Our DJ would not allow anyone else to use the microphone to clarify the announcements. During the cocktail hour, the DJ played the song that was intended for our first dance; when we bought this to his attention by directing him to the list they requested we make, the music was again stopped abruptly and dead air ensued. When it was time for speeches following dinner, our DJ was reminded verbally by the wedding planner 15 minutes prior that we would need the microphone; the microphone never came and the best man had to go find the DJ to get a microphone. Our DJ played very little of the music we requested and did not seem to have a good read of how to get the party into it. Because of our DJs lack of ability to communicate to the party, many of our guests were unaware that a food truck was serving dessert outside the venue; so we feel as though that money was partially wasted as well. I contacted Horizon Entertainment to notify them that we were really unhappy with the service we received. I received a reply stating that our complaint was the first the company had ever received against our DJ, and then went into a bunch of details that had no significance to me. I replied to say that the issues they had described had not happened at our wedding, and that it seemed to me they had at least two complaints again our DJ around the same timeframe. I soon received a second reply acknowledging that another couple had complained and my issues had been confused with theirs. I later received a second-hand verbal apology "from ownership" that stated our DJ was going through some personal problems at the time of our event. It would have been nice to know this beforehand so we could have had the option of getting another DJ from their company who perhaps would have performed better. I explained that a apology would not cut it and asked for a partial refund. Since then, Horizon has stopped communicating with me. I will be seeking a full refund in court.

We had a great time at our reception. Michael kept the party going and kept everything on schedule. 4 stars only because communication with prior dj was difficult but Michael quickly stepped in and took care of us very well. I would definitely recommend Horizon Entertainment to another bride!

We had David be our DJ and he was fantastic! Completely ran out reception, it was like having a wedding coordinator. Every thing went smoothly and the music was amazing. Everyone at our wedding was raving of how much fun they had. Go with Horizon Entretainment they are totally with it!

Horizon entertainment did an amazing job keeping the evening moving. My daughter and son in law knew that at the end of the day, the Caterer and DJ is what would either make or break the evening. The DJ was PERFECT! a true professional that knew his job. I have been to wedding receptions that the DJ acted like it was his party. Not Horizon. We would have been hard pressed to find a DJ with the finesse and friendliness as well as perfect timing. AMAZING!

Our DJ, Corey from Horizon Entertainment really impressed us with his professionalism, his fun attitude and knowledge of his business. He really helped us through our music selections where we needed/wanted his help and left us to choose the things we wanted to choose on our own. In addition, Horizon's online song-picking ability was very convenient. Corey also did a great job as our emcee and kept our whole evening on track without being overbearing or bossy. And he really was in touch with the crowd and did an awesome job of getting people out on the dance floor. In short, our night was awesome! Horizon also provided white canister lighting at our venue. It made the whole place look very classy and really made our venue look spectacular. I would fervently recommend Horizon to anyone looking for a DJ. Our experience was amazing, easy and fun. when searching for a DJ we were nervous because we did not want anyone like the DJ at school proms or other weddings that only played rap/hip-hop/top 40 songs (which neither of us are a fan of). Our DJ, Corey, met with us at the beginning and then again shortly before the wedding, and was knowledgeable and friendly each time. He made sure to get a good idea of what our wedding was all about so that he could make sure the music fit our theme. The other great thing I love about Horizon DJ is their online song selection tool. We were able to request appropriate and fun music ahead of time, which put me at peace that things would go as we wanted. He did such a good job that I was dancing until the very last song, which is unusual for me! I would highly recommend Horizon Entertainment to anyone wanting to support a genuine local business.

Corey was awesome from the beginning - as a person and as a DJ. He made everything easy, and he was always helpful and agreeable. The day of the wedding, he did exactly what we asked for - and when our guests wanted something different than what we asked for, Corey made it happen on a whim - but only after he heard from me that it was ok to deviate from our initial play list. He is totally respectful of what you want, and will make it happen exactly as you'd like. You literally cannot beat service this good for a price this affordable.

Best DJ service they are professional, valuable, and wonderful people to work with. Made my special day unforgettable!

My husband and I could not be happier with our decision to have Derek be a part of our wedding. He was always so helpful and responsive from the moment we started planning with him all the way through our wedding. Derek took our song requests and mixed it with his expertise to keep the dance floor full all night! His website is amazing! My husband and I were having trouble picking some of the songs and were able go into the website and see the 100 most frequently requested for every single type of song imaginable (first dance, daddy daughter dance, garter/bouquet toss...). He also has awesome reception timeline planning tools. He really helps make everything easy for you! One last thing... My aunt shared with me that she was leaning in/talking a little louder than usual across the table during the reception and that Derek dropped by their table after seeing this to check and make sure the music was not too loud. Derek is really attentive and wants to make sure you and ALL of your guests have a truly amazing day :-)

I highly recommend Corey Wagonfield from Horizon Entertainment! He did a fabulous job DJing our wedding! Corey was extremely pleasant to work with during planning and our wedding reception. We created a song play list online and there are no hidden fees, so the price is VERY reasonable. Not only did he provide an excellent mix of our favorite songs all night long, but he was a huge help with coordinating the timeline of events for the evening. (He even found my mom, the mother of the bride, to let her know when and where I was ready to bustle my dress, which allowed my groom and I to have our first dance on time!) He also helped keep toasts, cake cutting, etc on time so we could have a lot of open dancing. And he kept the party rockin! We received lots of compliments for him from both sets of parents and from many of our wedding guests.

We really liked these guys. Sadly our first pick for dj could not do the wedding because of a sick member of his family but he assigned us another great dj in the company who did a great job at the wedding. Their online planning tool and music selector was easy to use and we had two face to face meetings which was really nice. If you want a dj that does a great job reading the room, these are the guys for you!

We used Horizon Entertainment for our wedding and we are so happy and pleased that we did. Right off the bat, we knew that Corey was the guy to do the job. Our first meeting he went over everything that he would take care of during the big day. He was very professional and made us feel very at ease. For our last meeting we went over the order of events for that day and also the type of music that we would want and that we wouldn't want. They day of, Corey took care of everything!!! He played a day of coordinator with our vendors, made sure that we were on a great time schedule , even helped to pour drinks and get food!!! He went WAY beyond what we wanted and expected. He played the best music and stuck to what we wanted. We don't think our day would have been the same if we didn't use Horizon Entertainment. I highly recommend this company for any wedding or party.

We were referred to Corey of Horizon Entertainment DJs via one of our friends who had used him for his wedding. We had a great time at that wedding and loved the music he played, so we decided to have him as our DJ at our wedding. Corey was very professional and organized. After meeting with him and giving him an idea for what type of music we wanted, we got a good feel for him and liked his flexibility and personality. We met with him about a month before our wedding and went over the selections we requested. We even asked if we could use one of his speakers for our Ceremony music and he let us borrow it at no extra charge. At our reception, Corey was great on the mic and really did a great job of MCing the evening, telling people the standard housekeeping items, keeping the reception flowing, making the appropriate announcements--he even poured the champagne for our wedding party! Corey had the dance floor packed ALL NIGHT until 12:30 AM. We had a very diverse crowd and he played everything from Mo-Town, to ectro-pop, country, top 40, old school hip hop, and everything in between, expertly blended together with smooth transitions. We couldn't have asked for a better DJ for our wedding reception. Would HIGHLY recommend Corey and Horizon Entertainment DJs for your next party or wedding.

Derek at Horizon was so great to work with before and at the event. The song selection and online system was easy to use. Our wedding party loved them!

When we met with Corey we were very impressed. He was very laid back and open to our vision of how we wanted the music and dancing portion of the reception to go. We had very specific songs and genres we wanted to have played and he was right there with us. When it came to specific songs for our first dance, the father/daughter dance, etc... he sent us links to versions he had just to make sure it was the same ones we were thinking of. Corey went out of his way to make sure we were on the same page about everything and that meant a great deal to us and it was a fantastic reception.

Our DJ, Michael Coles, was fabulous. He helped keep the party going all night long. Even people that normally don't dance were out on the dance floor!

Michael was wonderful to work with. He really listened to what we wanted. We were very clear that we wanted a more subdued basic emcee services and music, not the loud DJ trying to get everyone out on the dance floor. We were able to pick all of our music and those that we didn't want played as well. He respected our direction and turned down my sister-in-law when she asked for the Electric Slide which we had firmly put on the "DO NOT PLAY" list. He was very accommodating, professional and everyone had a great time.

Mike, our DJ was amazing! I used to work for a wedding venue and encountered many weddings and I must say that the person that can make or break your wedding is the DJ. Mike was so at ease the whole night and truly allowed the reception to run smoothly. I even requested that he play no group songs (YMCA, etc) and when someone requested he play "Cha Cha Slide" he came out to the dance floor to find me and ask if it was ok to play that one song. That truly impressed me. I would highly recommend Horizon.

Everything went really well. My fiance and I spent a lot of time working on lists to be used and there was some variation from that during the event. We also specifically requested NO REQUESTS and had one song we were adament about not having played and the DJ claimed he had "to cave" to the person who requested it because she just kept asking. It was the last song of the night so it sticks out more so than if it had been mixed it. Other than that, they were great and easy to work with.

Horizon Entertainment was an easy choice after I called and researched many DJ companies. Michael came to see my then fiance and I at our house after work - talk about convenience! Michael's personality was just what we were looking for, you just knew he would be a blast! The other thing that I really liked about Horizon Entertainment was they talked about speakers. They aren't the DJ that brings one large speaker and blares you out of the room. Our guests were able to talk to one another even when we were dancing the night away. Michael was our master of ceremonies and directed the evening without talking into the mike every 5 seconds. Honestly, he did a perfect job...I danced the night away with my guests!!! My husband and I were so pleased with Michael, we would recommend him to anyone! Great guy, great service before and after the wedding!

The people at Horizon are very friendly and eager to help you get what you are looking for. Their online planning tools allow your guests to request music to help you create the best playlist for the day of your wedding. Aaron Hahn was our DJ and he was AMAZING. He knew just the right music to play at the right time and people never left the dance floor.

Horizons were great with the pre-wedding planning process and DJ met with us several times. Happy for the most part. However, day of wedding, DJ had not looked at finalized planner that was submitted...played the wrong last song of the night, had wrong song down for mother/groom dance (thankfully groom caught it before). Apparently he was also very rude to a guest who asked to make a song request.

I could not have asked for someone more professional than Aaron. He was more than just a DJ for our wedding, he arrived at our wedding site early to set up and then helped with coordination of setting up the ceremony site and keeping things moving along according to the timeline. He even sent me updates by text message the morning of the wedding which helped me to relax and know that the set up was going smoothly. When my FI and I were choosing a DJ for our wedding we looked at a lot of different companies and even at having a live band. Because we were having our reception on a boat which meant that we were going to be in a fairly close space we were concerned about the noise. My mom in particular was concerned that the music would be too loud and we wouldn't be able to hear anything or talk. The Bose sound system that Horizon Entertainment offers is phenomenal, the music can be turned all the way up and you are still able to have a conversation at a normal speaking level. There were times when I was talking to guests that I totally forgot that that music was playing and it became nice background, but if you wanted to dance or to hear it, it was definitely there.
