I have lots of things to say about HSBR. First, Samantha sold us into the resort for our wedding venue and she was FANTASTIC - had all of the answers to our questions, had great recommendations, knew how to solve tricky questions/issues, etc. A...
s soon as we booked with HSBR, we were transferred to a venue coordinator. Our venue coordinator was new and didn't know any answers to questions. If someone was new, you'd think they would say 'hold on let me find out' or have someone to shadow. I'm not sure if it was a person issue or a training issue, but she would just answer the questions wrong and/or not go find the answer until I asked about it 2-3 times. She would forget things we talked about/selections we would make. She forgot to tell us a variety of things. Kept getting our contracts and meals and pricing incorrect. It was a disaster. We lost our backup venue space twice because she didn't book it right. You could only ask one question at a time and the responses would always be vague. She would forget to follow up as well, so it was always on me to follow up. The day of the wedding she was hard to find, which ended up landing all back onto my poor wedding planner. We had to call the director in for help with miscommunication issues (I.e. coordinator kept forgetting we had linens included, and didn't tell us the price of food would be the highest price if we picked multiple options, told us water/drink stations were free, then tried to charge us). Luckily, the director fixed a variety of issues for her. We had some issues with guests getting through to book rooms and those rooms showing up on our room block, but as the bride I micro-managed and everything ended up fine there. Long story short, it's a BEAUTIFUL venue and i'm so glad we got married there, but make sure to thoroughly read your contract prior to signing, ask every question under the sun so you're not surprised when it's on your bill, and verify all of your charges at the end!

We could not have asked for a dreamier wedding! We grew up in the area so it was so sweet getting married here. It was beautiful and they were so helpful.

When my new husband and I started looking at venues, we didn't originally have a resort in mind. We wanted a small, intimate wedding where our loved ones could celebrate without interruption or random people lurking nearby. Then we got to the r...
esort, they showed us all the different venue spots they had to offer and we knew this was our venue. We picked the Horseshoe Bay Yacht Club Falls Point Lawn for our ceremony and the Yacht Club Shoreline Lawn for our reception. It was everything we had been looking for and more. Not only was it as intimate as we wanted, but we also didn't have any fear of random resort stayers walking into our wedding. It was also extremely convenient that the hotel was so close everyone in the wedding and attending was able to stay at the hotel before and after the wedding. While we live in Texas, our families had to travel to make the wedding. So everyone arrived two days before the wedding to catch up and prepare for our actual day. Everyone that worked at the hotel knew exactly who we were and made us feel so loved and taken care of. They went out of their way, not only for us the bride and groom, but each of our guests as well. We also did our food through the hotel as well, and it definitely exceeded everyone's expectations! All of the food arrived hot, cooked perfectly, and mouthwatering and delicious! All of our guests specifically went out of their way to praise the food. They had so many options to choose from and you couldn't go wrong with anything you picked.

We booked our wedding here, we were so excited!!!! But we did go through the trouble of 3 different people from the resort helping us, it was very unprofessional. On my wedding day the bridal suite was SO HOT, they didn’t have the AC turned on,...
they gave us a steamer to steam the bridesmaid dresses and filled it up way to high, someone ended up getting hurt the hot water from the machine went flying everywhere!!!!! The crows nest had to AC for them. Some of of guest didn’t receive their plate of food, which we paid for the set amount of people with the choice beef or chicken with a seating chart. Another big issues was we paid for an open bar and we’re told that they were out of champagne. When I told Vilidian these issues she assumed we were lying about these situations, very unprofessional. We also had a golf cart send off, which the golf cart was stolen at the end of the night it was a mess. Loved the venue, but the management is AWFUL. They also sent strawberries and wine for us the wedding couple to the incorrect room!

ng at one of the most beautiful resorts in Texas! But almost immediately after signing our contract, we noticed a change in the way they treated us. Rachel (who is no longer there) was in charge of doing our contract and basically lied about everything we were able to do, and when we got switched over to Shelly (who is also no longer there) we were extremely disappointed. They completely ignored us until MAYBE a month out from the wedding. Then about a week out from the wedding, they DOUBLE BOOKED multiple villas of ours that we booked a year+ in advance and went around asking people not to come that weekend in order for us to get a place to stay for our WEDDING. On the wedding day, Shelly who was suppose to be there helping and making sure we had everything, was not to be found. No one could get a hold of her, not even her own workers. My wedding planner was astounded at how poorly we were treated. The ONLY time we ended up seeing Shelly that night was when she was touring another couple around our wedding!! They didn’t serve passed wine at dinner, AND THEY CLOSED OUR BAR 45 MINS EARLY! We paid for these services and it was very embarrassing for us in front of our guests. On top of all that, when we were checking out at the end of the weekend, we walked into our room after breakfast to find the maids in there with my wedding dress on the cart along with our entire card box filled with thousands of dollars from the night before. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND HSBR TO ANYONE EVER AGAIN!! They made our wedding process the most stressful situation ever, and robbed us of not only thousands of dollars of items they did not deliver on our wedding day, but of what could have been our most perfect day. If I did not have my wedding planner and her staff, our wedding most likely would not have happened and I am externally grateful for them! PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, AND DO NOT BOOK YOUR WEDDING HERE! It is a breathtaking venue, but they do not care about you after they have received the tens of thousands of dollars you pay. Very expensive place, for almost nothing in return!! I will continue to urge every person who attended my wedding to write a review on their experiences as well, since many were unhappy with their stays as well. 😤😢

The food was great, service was great, drinks were awesome. HSB was super accommodating when we had to change the date to September from May. We are so impressed with how they responded to the pandemic. Shelley was a joy to work with. A couple of tips: make sure you get all specific decisions or details in writing. Book a suite for the girls to get ready in instead of the bridal suite. Communicate, communicate, communicate! You will love having your day at Horseshoe Bay. There are several "venues" on site to choose from and they have selections that can accommodate any size. We couldn't have asked for a better venue. Thank you, HSB!

that we met went above and beyond to make sure our day was exactly what we wanted it to be. Christy Monroe was my event coordinator and I cannot say enough positive things about her. I was planning my wedding long distance and she just helped me bring to life ideas that I couldn't even fully articulate. After our reception we were able to meet up with guests at the 360 Club, which was so much fun! Even though the staff at the club had not worked our event, they knew who we were and congratulated us! The next morning we had brunch at the Lantana Grill, which was great because even the few people who stayed elsewhere were able to come dine with us. I know that our family with small children really appreciated the on-site kids activity center (it has a ROCKWALL) and the friendly parrot. Our single friends enjoyed the yacht club pool and accompanying bar! On top of that, the scenery is everything you could want in your wedding photos. Everyone at our reception kept telling us it was the best one they had ever been to. People are still asking me about the mashed potatoes (I never thought I would like tomato mashed potatoes and I ate them all!). 100% recommend!

e, chose this location. This venue did not disappoint. The newly renovated Azalea Lawn, pre-cocktails and post-cocktails, Magnolia Lawn, ceremony, and Aster Lawn for cocktails and the walkway to the reception. The Lily Lawn was perfect for the reception! I credit Ryan Jones the Director of Food and Beverages for making it all happen so beautifully. Plus the food was outstanding! Guests that have been to more weddings than you can count, voted it the best food. When we had the tasting, the food was amazing! The chef and his staff are wonderful! To carry that quality for 165 guests is not an easy task. We served the filet and halibut with a few vegetarian. We had 4 events on the property. Our guests loved it as they could be shuttled everywhere. Food was great for all events. The bridesmaids luncheon was at the Slick Rock Grill. This is not a full service restaurant so we selected food items beforehand. The barbecue rehearsal dinner was great at the Whitewater Patio. The Sunday morning breakfast for about 140 was also at the Whitewater Patio so the guests were able to see the beautiful birds! My daughter had flowers sent from a farm on Maui. I recommend you still have a wedding planner even though Paige and Vildan are really nice as there is just too much to do. We could not have accomplished this without Sandra at Picture Perfect Events. When we had a hiccup with rooms, Bryan Woodward took care of it. Our guest were happy with their accommodations. We rented a 3 bedroom condo and the 13 bridesmaids and the bride did there hair, makeup and dressed there. The makeup and hair people were from Austin (as was the band). The condo was right by the Yacht Club. We had a wonderful wedding weekend blessed by God as it was raining on the morning of the wedding but it cleared up just in time! This is a beautiful newly renovated property. All of the renovations should be complete, always keep checking.

and everything went extremely smoothly on the day-of because of her. Every single detail was just perfect. She was extremely accommodating, responsive to emails, and met all of our random requests (and wed had a TON of random requests...). Jessica also helped coordinate everything, and was extremely on top of it and detail oriented (even while on maternity leave -- that's dedication!) The venue is gorgeous, was recently renovated, and is full of fun activities for guests. The food, accommodations, ballroom, and ceremony location were excellent. My only piece of constructive feedback was that it was difficult for many guests to book their rooms. The booking process was confusing. Different front desk staff would pick up the phone and would be confused about our wedding discounted price and whether we had rooms available on our room block. Also -- online booking seemed to be cheaper in many instances than booking over the phone with our discounted price. I believe HSB is currently working on this. Overall, I was over the moon and SO glad I booked at Horseshoe Bay. It's a little pricey, but absolutely worth it. It was the best day of my life.

ad that our wedding went well. We planned it in less than two months due to my mom having serious health issues, and we live in Seattle, so we had to make most of the plans long distance. From the first day we called and spoke with Vildan Ruiz, we had that kind of experience with her that the universe was conspiring to help everything work for us. She answered almost every time we called, and literally responded within 24 hours if she didn't answer. When we arrived we fell in love with the landscaping, the lake, the limestone circle at the beach for us to stand on during our ceremony, and the vast footprint of the resort that really creates the destination wedding feeling. When we entered the Whitewater Patio we felt like we had magically been transported out of Texas into a villa in Europe. Vildan showed us every other venue within the resort where we could have either the ceremony or the reception if weather didn't cooperate (they were great!), and she transported us around in a Navigator explaining the shuttle and golf carts options HBR offers all guests to efficiently get them between venues. We were treated like honored guests when we were there - they gave us bottled water and complimentary drinks, a tote with an extraordinary amount of information about planning the wedding and a thumb-drive with checklists and menus to help us plan. She even said she would work with the pastry chef on-site to use my mom's red-velvet cake recipe, and recommended a local florist called Cutting Edge that was amazing and also wonderful to work with, and she gave me many stylist referrals for hair and make-up. We knew that we had found the perfect place, and over the course of the next month and a half I spoke with Vildan personally several times a week and swapped emails as frequently. Her communication style made me feel at ease throughout the process, and when we arrived and met the rest of the staff we knew that they all valued excellent communication and amazing service. I did not need an additional wedding coordinator at all. So when the the saddest thing happened on Friday night - my sweet mom had a stroke in her room - I never even had to think about how HBR would react, I just knew they would handle it well. My mom's wit and charm were not affected by the stroke, so we were able to move our timeline up and get married in the hospital beside her bed, with her conscious of every minute. We didn't want my mom to think for a moment that she had affected our wedding day, so after we spent time with her at the end of our ceremony, we came back and had the full wedding we had planned at HB. We had to cancel the stylist, and as if she hadn't already done enough, Vildan graciously offered to do my hair, and it was beautiful. The dinner was amazing, and Vildan and the team did all of my decorating for me. My guests all raved about the dinner, and we felt so cared for by our banquet captain that my husband and I both hugged her simultaneously at the end. Everyone who attended was amazed by HBR, and I feel like it's a sacred place for me and my husband. We are already planning our anniversary (or sooner!) trip, and want to tell everyone how special HBR is. I STRONGLY recommend it from the bottom of my heart!

Both of them were a pleasure work with, were very detailed oriented, timely, upbeat & positive, worked so well with our planner Kimberley Bentley with Silver Thistle Events, and executed our vision. We had our reception on a smaller section of the Magnolia Lawn which fit our small wedding size PERFECTLY. The night time boat ride after our reception was so lovely and the thoughtful champagne and strawberries waiting in our room to come back to was so great. Our guests LOVED the pools, golf courses and kid activities. We really loved all of the options of guest rooms as the Paseo apartment fit the large families we had as guests, the Water Condos were great for guests that wanted waterfront upgrades and the standard rooms were great for our guests at a wonderful price point! The waitstaff paid special attention to us and our guests during breakfasts which made a great impression on our guests that flew in from far away to come see us get married. We hold a special place in our hearts for Horseshoe Bay, Rachel and Paige and always look forward to returning for a night or 2 to reminisce back on seriously the best weekend of our lives.

They even had to make a last minute trip to the Austin airport the morning of the wedding to pick up one our groomsmen after his flight was delayed multiple times. Our guests were all very complimentary of the location, the service and the amenities of the resort. Everyone made a weekend event out of it, and could because of all that there is to do there. Whether it was spending time in the spa, playing a round of golf, taking a dip in the pool, challenging the grandkids to a round of miniature golf, or just strolling around the beautiful grounds, there was something for everyone. My brides maids and I and a few close friends went on a run the morning of the wedding and the concierge staff would cheer and clap for us each time we passed the hotel. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome. Our wedding was magical and beautiful and our guests have had nothing but glowing remarks about HBR, the HBR Staff and the ceremony itself. e staff's reaction when everything goes wrong. In this case, many of these 7 events were to be held outside (which we had planned down to the minute detail for over a year). When torrential rain and flooding nixed that plan, we collectively moved into over-drive to help give my daughter the wedding of her dreams. I can truly say that Rachel Harris and her colleague Rachel the banquet manager did everything possible to make that happen. I am a very particular MOB and had very specific requests. They continued to work with me on alternatives until I was satisfied. All my special requests were filled. The attitude was to say "yes" or "let's figure out how we can make that happen" instead of "no." Our guests had a fabulous time and my daughter told me the next day that "rain or shine - it still exceeded her dreams." As a mother that is all you ever want to hear. The biggest issue we had was getting people to leave at the end of each of the events. I would say that is a very good problem to have. My husband and I were married at HSB this past August (2015). When we first booked the venue, we were over a year out from our date. HSB was able to accommodate (with smiles) the fact that we (*cough* my mother ;) ) changed our minds several ti...
mes on a few things (ie, We did the tasting for our food in November because we were going to be in Horseshoe Bay anyway. We picked all our food for a plated dinner, but then decided around March to do a buffet instead). The staff (Paige was our coordinator towards the end) was extremely responsive to email, but what really impressed me was her willingness to meet (and to meet at times convenient for us, like 7pm on a Tuesday night) in person when email started to get a bit hectic between all the involved parties. One thing I would recommend to brides is that you should get a day of coordinator if possible. HSB was absolutely great up until the wedding, but if you're extremely intent on getting the details just right, a day of coordinator will fill in any gaps that HSB can't provide (ie, tracking down that 6th bridesmaid who wandered off before pictures, asking you whether you want to allow an open mic after planned speeches and then enforcing that decision, etc.) We were married on Lily Lawn and our reception was held in the Yacht Club ballroom. Both spaces are absolutely amazing, and I would definitely recommend them. HSB also ended up being a great place to get married because it allowed for people to get silly at the reception and then not have to drive home. We did have a little trouble with the room reservation system, but in the end that ended up being a blip on the radar. Ultimately, if you're looking for a place that creates a very immersive wedding experience for the whole weekend, HSB is an excellent option. The golfers got to golf, me and my husband rented jetskis and went wakesurfing the day before the wedding, etc. Also, if you're getting married in the yacht club area, I do recommend the boat departure. One last thing to mention - my husband and I decided not to do traditional wedding cake. We asked if HSB would be able to make Angel Food cakes from my grandmother's recipe and they were able to accommodate this request. Moral of the story is that although they do have a set menu and things to order off of, the experience is still very customizable, you just have to ask. We also were able to special order some beers from a local brewery for our drink selection. Great memories all around. Thank you so much to Paige and all the staff for making it such an enjoyable event!

We were a little disappointed as we had accrued points and things to help with our stay. BUT it didn't detour our decision. I had tried contacting our original contact, Stephanie and it was hard very hard to get a hold of her and never really did. HOWEVER! Once I was connected with Rachel Harris it was all BLISS! Rachel is literally one of the best things that HSB has. She was always in contact with me. Always available to answer my questions. She would email me or call me whenever I needed clarification or had questions. She Met with me before the wedding. Met with me again the week we came down for our wedding. Coordinated EVERYTHING! From golf for the guys to my hair appts to mimosas for the ladies while we were getting ready. She helped decorate the wedding and reception. They worked with my husband to coordinate a surprise ending for me (leaving while our guests lit sparklers.). On the day of our wedding there were other weddings occurring as well but I never felt "second best". Our wedding a smaller one than the others. Rachel recruited some help, Sam and she was just as fabulous as Rachel. I also had the best catering coordinator (Noe---I am sorry if I am spelling it wrong) We had our wedding on the beach ( just like we wanted) and the reception in captains quarters. So so beautiful!!!! The staff catered to our every need. I will recommend this as a wedding place for ANY and everyone that is getting married. And request Rachel, Sam and their team!!!!! The day of our wedding so very much stress free for me as they did literally everything. Rachel, Sam, and Noe were a blessing! Literally!!!!! The accommodations are nice. The rooms in the hotel are a bit "older" but none the less---they are clean and very nice. We never had a problem. Golf---the only complaint that the boys had was the "beer girl". She was not prompt as she only serviced them twice in 18 holes. She came around two times. She didn't have a "personable" personality which should be a requirement in the hospitality industry----especially if you are paying $150 per person for golf. The course itself they said was good but probably not $150 worth. They did enjoy themselves however. I really can't say enough great things about our wedding. It WAS the wedding our dreams! We had such a great time and our guests have all said that it was the best wedding that they had ever been to. I recommend this place and would encourage anyone to stay there. or everyone! We got married at the million dollar hole and it was very intimate. We were able to enjoy the luxury of the outdoors while having privacy as well. Our reception was in the Captains Quarters, and we had dancing on the deck, and cake in the Harbor Lights reception area. At first, we were very worried about the setup and flow of this space. We had concerns that the space was too small for our 75 person reception, and felt that three separate areas would feel very disjointed. Luckily, everything worked out perfectly and guests enjoyed the multi-room experience. The food! It is almost one year later and our guests still rave about the food! It was incredible. We had a plated dinner for 75 people, and we did not have one complaint! The staff and service was also great. The team at HSB (Jill K is awesome!) has a system in place to help keep things organized. They provide a detailed schedule of events and will do whatever they can to accommodate your requests. One thing I would recommend though, is having your own day of coordinator. We hired an acquaintance who was dedicated to taking care of minor details the day of. While the staff at HSB is there to help, you should know they are there to help with all of the events that are taking place that day. For me personally, I needed to have someone there to manage the timeline and execute given my nature to worry about everything. I would recommend a dedicated helper for all brides the day of. Some more details on the process and service…The service they provided for us during our food selection was wonderful. We worked directly with the chef and his team to try a variety of their special dishes and they were wonderful. During dinner service at our reception, the chef came to our head table and surprised us with special items that we loved during the tasting, but did not select for our three dinner options (since we had to appeal to the masses). The quail was fantastic and if our out-of-town guests were not traditional eaters, we would have definitely picked it as a main course. We ultimately selected the filet, halibut and grilled chicken and they were fabulously prepared and served hot at the table. As the married couple, we also had a dedicated server that ensured our glasses were full all evening. The pictures taken on the dock are so beautiful that we made them our holiday cards. This was the Marriott HSB’s first gay wedding of two women and they treated us with utmost respect and equality. They ensured all their staff was professional and greeted us like a traditional couple. The entire weekend we spent at HSB will be a wonderful memory for us to cherish. Even our conservative family members said it was the best wedding they ever attended! We also rented décor from Outback rentals to decorate the ceiling and walls of the two rooms with flowing drapes and uplighting. My husband and I were married at the Horseshoe Bay Resort July 3, 2011. We chose to have the ceremony in the Yacht Club Ballroom and the reception in the Marriott Ballroom. We worked with Tiffany Jayne from day 1 and she was so great to work ...
with. We live in West Texas so we emailed and called a lot and she was always very prompt at returning calls and emails. She helped us with every little detail and request we had and some that we hadn't even thought of. The venue was beautiful and the staff was great. It's been almost a year since our wedding and our friends still talk about how wonderful the food was and how much fun they had at the Resort. All of our vendors had worked with the Resort before and everyone seemed to work together very well. This was my dream wedding and everything turned out wonderfully. Even with it being one of the busiest weekends of the year, it couldn't have gone any better. Everyone payed wonderful attention to us and it was absolutely beautiful! Thank you Horseshoe Bay Resort!

perfect...weather, service, vendors and of course the reception! With the lush landscape we didn't need many flowers, but those we did have were fabulous and all of the vendors we used had worked with the resort before so there were no problems! We live in Houston (about 3 hours away) and it was comforting to know the staff was able to help us when we were unable to get up there for decisions. I can't say enough positive things about Horseshoe Bay Resort Marriott!!! Many of our guests commented the wedding was like being in Hawaii without the long flight. If you are thinking of booking HSB Resrt, do yourself a favor and visit in person...absolutely beautiful!!!

I fell in love with the venue when we toured it over a year ago. To be such an amazing resort pricing was competitive. We chose to have our ceremony on the Magnolia Lawn and the Yacht Club for our reception. The good is Colleen was excellent...
at working with us, very responsive and had quick solutions to any issues. Both sites were incredible, the landscaping was gorgeous. The negative is I was a little disappointed with 2 things. The room I was waiting with my father to walk to the ceremony servers and staff kept trying to walk through until my dad finally started asking them to leave. Then as we were walking out 2 girls in bathing suits almost walked in front of us. Also 2 boys were on the lawn in the background throwing a ball. I realize I didn't pay to rent the whole thing but we did rent the lawn and they did not even attempt to clear it off. That even ended up working out because some little girl peaking behind the bushes kept me laughing. All in all it was well worth it! Everything I dreamed of and more!

anted to get married there but planning became overwhelming. Back to two months ago..... My finance and I decided that we wanted to get married on 11-11-11. While I wanted my dream wedding to be at Horseshoe Bay, I contemplated having it at other venues. By chance, Tiffany (who showed me the property several months ago) contacted me via email and asked if we were still interested in having our wedding there. I told her we wanted to get married on 11-11-11. She then informed me that there was a recent cancelation. At that point it became clear that we were destined to be married on 11-11-11. I met with Tiffany who was great! She took the time to answer all of my questions and come up with a tentative itinerary. But after weeks of phone calls and emails, Tiffany informed me that Colleen would be my new wedding coordinator (I was a little shocked because Tiffany and I got along so well and now I was going to have to work with someone else). To my surprise, Colleen was just at nice and accommodating. Colleen made sure that I got everything and everyone I needed to make my day like a "dream". Everything was perfert. I could not have asked for anything more because I was celebrating "My Dream Day" with the man of my dreams. And not too many people knew that my "dream" wedding was a gift from my husband who had been in a terrible car accident 12 years earlier on 11-11. He gave me that day (11-11-11) because it was the replacing those horrible memories with a "New Beginning". The start of our life together. Note: Even the supervisors and serving staff at the reception venue were great.

I married my best friend at Horseshoe Bay Resort (HSBR) on the Yacht Club Lawn. My husband and I have family from all over Texas, and we didn’t want to feel like we were favoring one side of our family over the other so finding somewhere that ...
met in the middle was very important to us. HSBR was a happy medium for everyone and the hill country acted as a great scenic route everyone enjoyed. We had some family members show up to the resort a couple days prior to the event. The resort kept all of our family members of all ages entertained during their free time. There were a lot of walking trails with a lot of beautiful scenery to enjoy, a huge putting green that the groom groomsmen and dads played on and lots of grassy areas to let the kids run around on so they were not cooped up in a hotel room all day. I dont think I could have found any place more perfect than HSBR. My husband and I are outdoor kind of people, we enjoy being out on the water the most, it was nice to have that incorporated into our special day. Being married out by the lake was so incredibly beautiful. I was very impressed with the ceremony site which had a lot of greenery and blooming flowers. I worked with both Tiffany and Colleen. They were so helpful in the wedding planning. Any questions we had they were sure to have a quick response ready for us. At the resort the staff was unbelievably nice and went out of their way to make you feel like their only priority. The bellmen were eager to help with luggage and were always polite. I was very pleased with the service I received at the resort. During the planning of the wedding Colleen was sure to keep my husband and I involved with every decision, which made me feel comfortable knowing that she was trying to make our day what WE wanted. On the day of the wedding I was able to go into the reception site, which was held in the Yacht Club Ballroom, and found the staff working hard decorating. Colleen spotted me and was asking my opinion of what my mom and I thought about the decorations so far. This, to me, spoke volumes. Colleen was ready to make any changes to the reception site if we were unsatisfied. Needless to say we were both VERY pleased with the decorations. The food here is spectacular! I enjoyed everything that was served on the wedding night and so did my guests! The service during the meal time was awesome. They were sure to ask how the food was, if there was anything we needed and our drinks were never empty. They definitely went out of their way to make all my guests, us included, feel important. When we were all ready to dance I was concerned how small the dance floor appeared. Looks can be very deceiving! We had plenty of room for our 120 guests to comfortably dance around the floor without bumping into one another. One situation we experienced was sharing our special day with other 3 other couples because of the date we chose. We actually shared the same building with one other couple. I was a little nervous when I found this out because I didnt want to feel like I had to SHARE my day with anyone, but honestly I never once saw anyone from another bridal party the whole day. The staff did a great job with planning more than one wedding day and I felt as if our wedding was the only one scheduled. Its important to be able to trust the people you are working with on your wedding and not having a worry in the world. I am glad I was able to have HSBR host our special day!

I find myself a bit reluctant to share a review of this venue only because I feel as though I have been let in on Texas' best kept secret. I have found myself describing the Horseshoe Bay Area as a Texas Oasis. The Marriott Resort only adds to ...
the allure of this small town. From the moment i stepped foot on the property I felt as though everything had already been taken care of. As a wedding planner that is a great feeling. As a client what a breath of fresh air. The constant professionals I was able to work with, from the front desk, to the tram driver, continually impressed me. The people who work at the resort truly enjoy their jobs and are enthusiastic to help make your visit the most enjoyable. The team, and I mean TEAM, who work on the weddings have the highest standard for their property and expect your guests to have the best experience. They are hospitable to all vendors, guests and members alike. There is an air of exclusivity being in Horseshoe Bay but when you are at the Marriott, if it is your first visit or you are a member, you are treated as guests not customers. I could also rave about the breath taking views, immaculate grounds, or impeccable accommodations but I will leave that up to you to experience for your self. Take a day, a weekend a week if you have it and experience what has become MY Texas Oasis.

ill try to describe some of the variables that made this such a positive experience for us and all of our guests. Our daughter and her then fiancé were graduate students living in Kentucky and Colorado. They agreed that they wanted to get married in Texas, However, time was scarce for them and the long distance planning and execution of their wishes were challenging. They had looked at several venues in the Austin area but after their visit to Horseshoe Bay they were convinced that their search was over. They both fell in love with the yacht club lawn for the ceremony and the yacht club ballroom for the reception. Tiffany and Colleen were very accommodating to their schedules. They accommodate them to have the tasting and select their menu ahead of the timeline, met them on weekends, gave valuable suggestions to make he ballroom look even more beautiful with “uplights” both inside and outside to highlight the palm trees and make them appear as if they are inside the room. The photos really captured the evening. The food was delicious and was “art on display”. The salad looked like a bouquet on the plate. The sequence of events went smoothly even Mother Nature granted us a break from the hot humid weather. It was perfect for the outdoor ceremony. The highlight of the night was the boat ride arranged by Colleen for the couple. It was full moon and it reflected on the ripples on the lake as we lined up on the pier blowing bubbles for the couple. It our mine this was our fairytale. We had so much fun that we forgot some of the chair covers and I really did not realize it until a couple of days later. I thought this was lost but after a quick e-mail to Colleen she responded that she found them and I could pick them up at my convenience. This is service. We highly recommend this venue and staff for any important event and would not think twice about using them again.

er. I'll first say that wow, a lot goes into putting a wedding together. I guess you can determine your level of involvement but my wife and I chose to be very involved in the planning of the details of the wedding as well as putting a lot of our own time into creating unique touches. What that level of involvement gave me was an even greater appreciation for what it took to make everything look good, run smoothly, and see everybody having fun. So about the experience with HSB. Yes, my wife and I put a lot of effort into planning the wedding but I can't imagine what it would have been like if we weren't working with HSB. HSB's experience with weddings makes them a great resource to know what works and what doesn't work and they are almost a one-stop shop. They provide your wedding coordinator, event captain, food, drinks, tables, chairs, service staff, etc...a lot of items that you don't have to worry about yourself. You already have enough to worry about. Brandee and Tiffany were great to work with in the planning and they made sure the whole event went off without a hitch from beginning to end. James (I believe), our event captain, was on top of everything during the event. I can't say enough about how comforting this was. If we needed anything, he was there. The menu to choose from is fantastic and our guests were extremely happy with the food. The tastings that Brandee set up for us were great since the food was so good. We went with the Distinctly Texas menu with a few changes. Drinks-wise, we went with their top shelf option and everybody was happy with that. Entertainment-wise, we went with both a DJ and a band (the yacht club was the perfect venue for this setup). We used Kirk at Austin Sound Machine as a DJ and Third Language was our band. I would recommend both and those choices have a lot to do with how much fun you and your guest have. To my knowledge, everyone at our wedding had a blast. We also did an after party back at the hotel on their palm patio which was a great finish to the night. I'm sure I'm biased but the whole weekend and especially the wedding day/night was just incredible. HSB provides great facilities to host people from out of town with the resort, pools, lake LBJ, golf, tennis, etc...there's something for everyone. I am a detail-oriented person and can be critical if my expectations aren't met. With that being said I was happy with EVERYTHING. Thanks HSB, Kenneth & Jenny

ods and events of my life. It was a time when I grew closer to my daughter and gained a son. As of the date of this writing, a little more than nine months hence, that relationship has blessed my wife and I with our first grandchild. The Horseshoe Bay Resort (HSBR) remains a vitally positive and key part of that memorable time. As a gourmet, wine connoisseur and host I have always put forth a lot of thought, care and discerning taste in an attempt to make social events memorable and noteworthy for our 200+ guests. As the host of my daughter's and future son in law's wedding I was determined to embrace the joy and endeavor to help make their day, our family's day and our guests day a positively memorable event. Limited only by a rational yet adequate budget there were certain standards and quality expectations that were required. Venue- While the venue decision was mostly up to the bride and groom there were definite quality prerequisites for food, beverage, entertainment, lodging comfort and amenities that I held forth. Any geographical location from the Caribbean to Hawaii to include the continental United States was in play. Following several scouting, research and test visits, HSBR emerged as a leading candidate for the venue. The world class golf, tennis, swimming and boating amenities were a strong attraction. Meeting with one of the best social/wedding coordinators that I have ever met, Ms. Tiffany Jayne , solidified HSBR as the choice. While the food, beverage and facilities were exceptional, confidence in the banquet staff's ability to execute remained a question until Ms. Jayne facilitated meetings with the Chef, Beverage Manager, and even several wait staff including the Captain who would be at the service helm for our event. This crew had awareness of and experience with the details. On the day of the wedding- The ceremony site was beautiful. The reception table setups were visually inviting and detailed. The food was exceptional and well served. The bar service was professional and well stocked. The entire event was well managed. I had nothing to do but answer a few question and enjoy the moment. Value- While value is often measured solely in terms of dollars and cents, in my mind the intangibles are often the tipping point between fair and exceptional value. There are a several intangibles that made HSBR an exception value. One stop shop- I did not need to either hire a separate coordinator nor did I need to coordinate all of the vendors. Catering and many other services were handled by HSBR. Tiffany did all of the overall event management. The setting- the venue was relaxing, recreational and picturesque. This was true for our guests before and after the event as well as for the wedding and reception itself. Quality of staff- Confidence in professionalism and ability to deliver were not a worry or question. Billing- All bills were accurate as promised. Contracting for the venue was a straight forward business process. The very well run Marriot hotel provided excellent lodging for our guests. Memorable!

Horseshoe Bay was the absolute perfect place to get married! Not only is the resort beautiful, the staff is extremely hospitable and everyone there made us feel like family. We could not have been happier with the way it all turned out and wo...
uld highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a wonderful wedding venue. The entire planning process was incredibly stress-free, which was very important to my husband and me. Tiffany worked hard to ensure that that all of our questions were answered and everything went exactly as planned. Our wedding ended up being even more perfect that we had imagined!! From the decorations, to the lighting, to the food... The attention to detail was amazing! We also loved the fact that our wedding guests could stay right there at the resort all weekend. (And so many of our guests had such a great experience that they are planning on coming back to vacation here again!) We are so happy that we decided to get married at Horseshoe Bay and would do it all over again in a heartbeat!

ut the day after our wedding, our experience was truly flawless. Tiffany and Jill helped us and were so knowledgable about local vendors and had great ideas of how to make our day extra special. They are extremely professional and so much fun to work with at the same time! Other than the beautiful setting, the highlight of our wedding weekend was the amazing service we received - everyone at the hotel knew who we were and offered help before we even knew we needed it. They surprised us with thoughtful touches all weekend. We over-worked the bellmen and they were so sweet and nearly moved mountains for us! The resort staff who worked our reception were outstanding. The food at our reception is something people continue to talk about 6 months after the event - it was delicious and perfectly prepared and I was honestly worried about how the food would be when having to serve so many people at the same time. I am a worrier by nature and felt so good and calm about everything on my wedding day because I trusted the resort to deliver - and they did. Everything turned out just like we had planned it. The Horseshoe Bay Spa was where I had my hair and mani/pedi done and they were a lot of fun to "hang out" with! Jill ran the show the day of the wedding and everything went off without a hitch. I seriously can't say enough about how much fun we (and our guests) had that weekend. It is a first class venue in every sense of the phrase. I highly recommend Horseshoe Bay Resort and truly wish I could experience my wedding weekend all over again! There is honestly not one thing I would change about the entire weekend (and planning experience).

LOVE this venue! We had our ceremony outside on the Yacht Club Lawn (right on Lake LBJ) and it was so beautiful! We had to move our reception inside due to cold temps (which I was originally bummed about), but it ended up being absolutely lovel...
y indoors (inside the Yacht Club Ballroom). The staff was courteous & attentive and the food was AMAZING. Everyone was raving about it! Totally exceeded our expectations. Our wedding coordinator, Jill, was wonderful to work with. She was extremely organized and kept me calm throughout the entire planning process and, most importantly, on the actual wedding day. I can't say enough nice things about both Horseshoe Bay Resort and our coordinator. Another plus is that they have a spa on site, where my bridesmaids and I indulged in manis & pedis and got our hair & makeup done on the day of the wedding. So convenient. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone! I wish I could get married here all over again.

eyond beatiful. With a Marriott hotel on property, this was so convenient for all of our guests. There were so many amenities to choose from, golf, spa treatments, boating, tennis and so much more. The food was some of the best that I have ever had at a wedding. I would highly recommend this Resort!!!
