Our values include providing utmost attention and care to whatever the Bride and her party needs while planning the Big Day, as well as during and after the celebration. We truly value and take all client feedback about our event services into consideration. Unfortunately, this review of our organization is negatively impacted by the client's guests' poor behavior, which is truly a shame for all parties involved. In respectful response to this client’s review: Vendor Options – Hospitality Butler provided multiple and timely catering vendor options for this occasion. However, due to the time it took for this client to decide on a specific menu and/or direction, our primary recommendations became unavailable. We then re-grouped and provided alternative options, until the decision was made to select a restaurant known by the wedding party family. While Hospitality Butler prefers to work with vetted and certified wedding caterers, we agreed to move forward with this particular client’s wishes due to the circumstances. Unfortunately, we sincerely regret allowing this concession due to the caterer’s lack of staff assistance and the extremely unprofessional manner in which the catering kitchen was left at the Historic White Home. Rentals – All rental information and pricing for our wedding parties, regardless of the city or venue the event is held, is thoroughly explained and openly discussed in a face-to-face meeting with every wedding party in the beginning of the event planning process. Once agreed upon, a contract is signed by the Bride. “Liquor on Site” – As a privately-owned historic site, if liquor is served, having an off-duty police officer is required for liability purposes. Hospitality Butler contacted Rock Hill PD in March of 2022 to confirm this client’s wedding date/time, yet an officer never showed. Post event research by Hospitality Butler proved protocol to request the use/hire of an off-duty officer to oversee an event was actually altered throughout the year, hence resulting in the confirmation misunderstanding. Hospitality Butler took ultimate responsibility and has already held an open discussion with the client and apologized for the oversight. NOTE: The client was not penalized in any way for this mishap and/or change in off-duty officer scheduling protocol. Furthermore, this entire negative review stems from guests damaging the property at the end of the night. Both The White Home and Hospitality Butler have even gone as far to mutually pay out-of-pocket expenses to cover severe damages done to the venue by this wedding party, which includes a cast iron sink being ripped off the wall due to guests sitting upon it in the Bride’s Suite, an Uber driver tearing up heavy rock landscaping, and numerous Hospitality Butler flatware supplies used to accommodate the Bride’s dinner décor requests (lent to her caterer) that have yet to be recovered nor returned. All of these violations are a breach of contract, yet have been remedied internally due to the unpleasant experience associated with this particular client. Upon the Newlywed’s sendoff, Hospitality Butler staff was repeatedly thanked and told by the Bride/Groom, family members and guests “how perfect and amazing the day had been”. Therefore, Hospitality Butler firmly believes everything that could have possibly been done to accommodate this client was - and has been - more than honored.
