The hotel was particularly popular during the 1940s, earning a reputation as a gathering place for local businesspeople and military personnel. The hotel’s Dan Room was nicknamed “the sure-fire room” due to the guaranteed good time you would have there. Since 2012, the Hotel Flor has once again become known as Tampa’s crowning glory, its original beauty and stature recaptured with historical expertise and meticulous craftsmanship. In 1996, the Hotel Flor was added to the National Register of Historic Places, one of the few hotels in Tampa to receive such recognition. The venue boasts multiple ceremony and reception locations for you to choose from. The Grand Ballroom is 8,000 square feet, elegant and stunning. The Crystal Ballroom, 2000 square feet, features romantic arched windows, an ornate ceiling, and stunning chandeliers to illuminate your reception. For more intimate gatherings, the Mezzanine Rooms will be perfect. Spanning 2,686 square feet and flooded with natural light from the unique half-circle windows, there is ample room for up to 170 guests. This space is ideal for buffet services. You may customize your chosen ceremony and reception spaces to suit your tastes, creating a truly personalized wedding experience for you and your guests.
The Hotel Flor offers a variety of packages to suit every budget. For your convenience, each package includes tables, chairs, linens, a dance floor, and a champagne toast. A dedicated day-of banquet manager will oversee your wedding and ensure everything runs smoothly. Various bar packages offer a range of beers, ciders, and wines. The experienced staff provides a range of dining options, including butler-passed hors d’oeuvres and buffet-style dining. This hotel is magical! I’m pretty sure we just hosted the best wedding ever at the Floridan Palace! Angela was so wonderful to work with, and she worked well with all of our vendors (most which she recommended). The service, food and attention to every detail was amazing. I can not say enough about this beautiful hotel and the people running it! 💕

This venue was an absolute dream. I'm from Tampa, grew up here and all.. passed by this hotel countless times without a second look. When it came to wedding planning I had 2 weeks from the day I got engaged to when I was moving to another state with my fiance (military). My mom had suggested that we check it out just see and when I walked inside my mouth dropped. This place it a gem! Beautiful chandeliers hang from the ceiling with spectacular crown molding with flower designs.. I mean total great Gatsby feel. I wanted our wedding theme to be timeless, classic and elegant.. this place couldn't fit more. The hotel is FAMILY RUN and thats just how they treat you. Angela is the sweetest person ever and made everything run so smoothly. One of the other reasons I picked this place was because of their packages. They have all inclusive with tables linens, cutlery, plates/chargers.. the whole deal. Being that I was leaving so soon this was very appealing. Everything was beautiful ivory and gold which fit my vision. Next, the FOOD. OMG is all I can say. Everyone at our wedding could not stop talking about how delicious the food was. We got the palatial package that included open bar with top shelf drinks, 5 course meal including dessert. We selected filet mignon and salmon. The steak was so tender you could cut it with a spoon. If you have similar theme to me I highly recommend that you check this place out. AMAZING. Cant say thank you enough!! <3

The Floridan is the BEST. KEPT. SECRET in Tampa Bay and it needs to be on your radar for your next event.
We were planning a classic & timeless styled December wedding. We wanted the ceremony & the reception at the same location, guest count was going to ~150 & wanted something unique. Being native Floridians, we wanted everything inside. We had a date in mind & wanted a location that would make us feel special & that our event would not just be another event among. After looking at 50+ venues in Tampa, we found the Floridan.
From the moment I walked into the ballroom, I was in awe. Ceilings over 20 feet high, crown moulding, tasteful touches of gold accents, floors that complimented the room, was uniquely different, & plenty of space for a crowd. This was it. This was our venue. I messaged the events team over the weekend & received a prompt reply providing me with a warm greeting, confirmation our date was available & the wedding packages which were within our budget.
What made our wedding so special was the Floridan team. Angela Vasi was my day-to-day contact & I am forever grateful for her. From impromptu meetings to discuss layouts to making time for my mom (who was visiting from out of town) to get a tour of the location with less than a 2 day notice, Angela truly made this the best experience. When it came time for the menu tasting, Angela went above & beyond to help accommodate our requests for our entrees. Our tasting was out of this world & the team truly helped to make it a custom experience all the way to the wedding day (this was not a standard bland chicken and veggie meal-- this was a 10oz filet mignon or Mediterranean chicken with FLAVOR, and yes, it was as great on the wedding day as it was on the tasting day!)
Angela was there to help me every step of the way. She was extremely prompt on her replies & was always quick to reply at all hours of the day & was very accommodating to my schedule. I personally like to meet with people in person when I can, &Angela was more than happy to meet when it was most convenient for me. When I wanted to do a walk-through of the venue & florist mock-up more than a month out, Angela made sure she was available and made me a priority because that’s just the type of person she is & the style of business the Floridan team runs-- they treat you like family.
As a bride, there are so many times you panic over the smallest thing. The week of the wedding, I learned a few guests could not attend last minute due to a snowstorm. I had final counts submitted to the venue. This made me panic because tables had to be rearranged. At 10pm that night, I spoke with my planner and Angela to inform her of the changes that were needed. Without hesitating, she assured me the team would take care of it and it would not be any issue at all. I don't believe that many other venues THIS close to the wedding date would be so accommodating, patient & understanding as Angela and the Floridan team-- another reason why I couldn't be happier with our location.
While everyone says they have the best wedding, to me, what was so critical was that I had the best vendor team to help create the best wedding for us and it starts with the venue. Angela & the Floridan were incredible. I am so thankful for all she was able to do for us. I’d encourage anyone looking for an event space to check out the Floridan. It's beautiful, historic, elegant & the team they have are so professional and extremely talented.

We had an amazing Christmas wedding at the Floridan! If you want a fairy-tale come true, this is THE place. The grand ballroom will absolutely take your breath away. The food was DELICIOUS! Our guests are still raving about the surf & turf! The service was impeccable. Thank you to Angela and Toula for their kind attention to EVERY detail. -barbara

The Floridan Palace Hotel was the perfect choice for our wedding. We loved the historic charm and how lovely the lobby and ballroom of the hotel were. We had our ceremony and reception at the hotel and it all was flawless. Toula and her staff are very wonderful and so talented. Toula has so much experience with weddings and was the biggest help with planning the wedding and making our big day perfect. The hotel staff did a wonderful job and everything went smoothly. I kid you not, we had no problems and are so blessed. I would recommend this venue to everyone! And the food...oh my goodness! We got an overwhelming amount of compliments on the food. The chef is so talented and everything is so fresh. Even the bread before dinner was mouthwatering. The filet mignon just melted in your mouth and the chicken was flavorful and tender. The food service was professional and did not get in the way whatsoever. Couldn't even tell they were there...in and out so fast doing their job! Everyone had a smile on their face! Such a beautiful hotel, but most importantly, such a professional and honest owner and staff. Everything was perfect and made our day unforgettable.

The Floridan Palace Hotel was a dream come true for a Wedding Venue! They have really done this downtown Tampa landmark proud with the renovations to bring it into the current century, but still keep the beautiful touches and detail that make it a historic gem! My husband and I fell in love with the Floridan palace and knew right away that this was the location of our dream wedding. We started working with one of the owners and the Event Coordinator Katrina right away to plan our special day. Their knowledge of the space, as well as wedding planning experience proved invaluable. They are very detail oriented and worked with our outside Vendors to create a magical day for us and our families. The Floridan was responsible for catering our 5 course Wedding feast and the chef is truly gifted. Our guests haven't stopped talking about how delicious the food was. The Floridan also provided us with beautiful linens, cloth napkins, and Chivari chairs as part of our rental package from them. Not only did everything look stunning in the ballroom, but it saved me from having to contract these items from separate vendors. The Floridan is a classy and romantic place to host a Wedding. There is plenty of space, guest rooms that can be blocked off for your guests (which is what we did to make our Wedding a weekend getaway,) complimentary downtown parking (which is hard to come by anywhere in downtown Tampa,) one of a kind photographic opportunities throughout the property, and a really neat bar located inside the hotel called the Sapphire Lounge. Overall, I can't say enough wonderful things about having our Wedding Weekend and Reception at the Floridan and working with their staff to make our day perfect! I would highly recommend this venue to the Bride that wants her Wedding to stand out as the best!

When this hotel reopened we didn't think it was going to be available for our wedding. My grandmother grew up in Ybor City and loved coming here with her friends when she was a teenager to dance in the Sapphire Room. We took her here for dinner when it first opened and it was touching to see how emotional she got the moment she walked into the hotel, memories just flooded her mind.
My husband (fiance at the time) knew the owners, but when I met the entire family that runs this hotel, I knew this had to be the place for our reception...AND they were available on our wedding :) We have become so close with the owners, they too are just like family. It is an amazing place, I love the history of it and the owners go above and beyond to make your special day stress free and beautiful :)
