Regrettably, my encounter with the venue proved to be markedly unsatisfactory. Right from its inception, a multitude of disparities emerged between the contractual provisions and the invoices subsequently presented to us. This incongruity engendered substantial bewilderment and exasperation in relation to our ultimate financial settlement.
Foremost among our concerns was the conspicuous turnover of designated points of contact, a recurring theme that transpired three times within a span of a single year. These transitions in point of contacts were punctuated by numerous instances of mishandled communications. Right before our wedding, a final transition transpired wherein the role was assumed by the manager. However, on the actual day of our wedding, we were not aware of a designated point of contact, and the manager was on vacation. This tumultuous sequence of events significantly contributed to the prevailing uncertainty surrounding the financial outlay for our wedding. Consequently, we abstained from countersigning any documentation endorsing our final charges which we were not in agreement with, which was provisions in our contract.
The intricacies of the billing process were further compounded by the vexing matter of the pasta bar's pricing. Conflicting quotations were presented, obfuscating whether it constituted an additional charge of $23 per person or an all-encompassing flat fee of $200. Furthermore, the temporal scope of the pasta bar charge, contracted for two hours, was curtailed to a mere hour.
A pivotal issue arose on the very day of our wedding when the air conditioning system in the reception area malfunctioned, coincidentally transpiring on one of the hottest July days. The venue opted to mitigate the situation by sealing the doors. Astonishingly, there was an absence of any apologies to us on this momentous occasion. Consequently, our guests were sweating in a small room without any circulation of air.
Service delivery throughout the wedding event conspicuously fell short of our expectations. An array of issues marred the proceedings, including the non-realization of the contracted passed champagne service, attendant confusion among the service staff pertaining to the provision of vegetarian meals, the erroneous delivery of desserts, a pervasive pattern of lackluster service, and the glaring omission of champagne for the climactic wedding toast. Indeed, the pivotal moment of toasting, an integral component of the wedding tradition, transpired without the customary accompaniment of champagne.
In summation, our interaction with this venue was profoundly marred by systemic disorganization, lapses in communication, and an assortment of instances exemplified by average service standards
Overall, my husband and I had a wonderful experience throughout the whole weekend of our wedding! From rehearsal dinner to reception it was perfect. They also had never done a wedding where they had to have the ceremony in the ball room and then change the room over for the reception during cocktail hour and they absolutely went above and beyond to make sure the transition happened smoothly. Renee and Heather were great and fun to work with. They made sure that every detail was what we wanted. I will say there were a few bumps on the hotel side of things, but everything was resolved quickly and efficiently. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for a cool place for their next event.
We stayed at Hotel Nyack for our Wedding and would definitely recommend! The hotel is so unique and the rooms are so fun! The bed was so comfy, the bathroom is spacious for getting ready and the bathtub was so nice to relax! The hotel sent us an amenity which was so thoughtful. We will definitely be back!
