My husband and I ended up cancelling our large wedding and eloping. We did this for a few reasons, but how disorganized the hotel was influenced our decision greatly. I did not feel confident that they could accommodate our wedding. We did lose our deposit, but that was worth it to us rather than continue with the plan and be disappointed on our wedding day.
We put a deposit down to book the rooftop lounge for our wedding day. Several comments were made about this by the wedding planner that made me think they had not hosted a wedding up there before. The wedding planner also made several comments about how costly it was which was awkward and honestly not their business how much we were choosing to spend. They were back and forth about whether or not we would be allowed to have a champagne wall and said “well I guess we can make an exception since you are spending so much.” What? So you’re saying you don’t do your best to accommodate all your couples even if they are booking the cheaper room downstairs? It just really rubbed me the wrong way.
I did not feel confident that they could handle plated dinner. They were pushing buffet on us every time we spoke about food. They said several times we could do our tasting menu one year out and bring 2 guests with us (so 4 people total). When I went to schedule our tasting, the wedding planner then said we could not bring 2 guests with us. I scheduled the tasting for my husband and myself. The wedding planner then told us what we would be tasting. I said we don’t want to serve those things, why aren’t we able to select which things we want to serve and taste those things? They have a large menu and we had several thousands of dollars toward the food budget, but they were trying to limit what we were allowed to sample.
After this I received an email from the wedding planner’s manager saying that we had to wait until 4 months before our wedding to do a tasting. I’m not sure how I was supposed to order wedding invitations and have people select their entree while RSVPing in a timely manner without sampling the food.
Overall, it’s a beautiful venue with nice people but very disorganized and did not give off the vibe that they could appropriately handle our wedding day.
We got married June 1st, 2019. They did change people on us a few times which was confusing, but they were great about getting back to me right away. I worked with Noelle on payments for the wedding which worked out great. She did overcharge me $100 once but she was able to use that for any overages for food I might have, so it worked out. I wish I had been able to check into my room Earlier than 12pm but we were able to work around that. The food tasting went great and I picked out my flowers and centerpieces then. I picked out red roses and cala lilies...but when it came to the wedding we got red roses and some other white flower. It looked ok, but it was kinda sucky to have them switch the flowers on me without my knowing. I also was told with the roasted chicken we would get the rice pilaf, and with the beef calabacitas would be served. When it came out, the sides were switched on us. I tried to not let it get to me though. Our dinner was served outside, and it got very bright. I didn't think about how bright it was going to be and nobody told me about being able to rent a tent from somewhere if I wanted to. That would have been nice to know. We lucked out though and it got cloudy, but the sun was right in our guests faces and they were using napkins and the charger plates as shades until the clouds came in. Overall it was beautiful and we got tons of complements. We decided to have our favors put out on the plates and they set that up beautifully. We also didn't have a bartender since my husband and I don't drink. Guests were able to go upstairs to the bar and get drinks and come back down. Overall it was a beautiful venue full of helpful people for very reasonable prices.
Be aware the wedding manager, Dominique, that everyone raves about in these reviews no longer works for them. We worked with three different ppl trying to plan our wedding here.
Got married here in June of 2019. Had a lot of bad experiences but the most lasting one is how expensive the food was and how bad it was. Really embarrassing to invite people to your wedding and feed them cold gross food.
Hotel Parq Central is a beauitful boutique hotel in downtown Albuquerque. We had our wedding there about a month ago and really couldn't have been more thrilled with the space. Noelle, the hotel's event coordinator, is an absolute pleasure to work with. She is the #1 reason we booked this venue.
We chose to have an outdoor ceremony in their beautiful back coutyard and it was perfect for our 120 guests. Their rooftop lounge, The Apothecary was our recpetion space and it was beautiful. Not your typical seated reception, we had more of a super long cocktail hour with dancing and heavy passed hor dourves.
We were able to create a custom menu and give our guests exactly the experience we had in mind. we were also able to book "the residence" which included 9 guest rooms and a family room for our entire wedding party to stay and enjoy the hotel's super comfy, super stylish rooms.
I would chose Hotel Parq Central 1,000 times over!
