uld enjoy our wedding day rather than manage it ourselves. Our “Something Old” package included vendor management, timeline creation, rehearsal coordination, guest direction, reception flow, and troubleshooting. Unfortunately, my family, wedding party, and other vendors ended up handling many of these responsibilities. We created a detailed wedding binder with our timeline, vendor information, ceremony details, meal assignments, and day-of instructions, yet the coordination team was still asking about documented details shortly before the wedding. On the wedding day, our caterer had to go to my mother for answers about vendor meals that were already documented. Our cake was also never cut, despite cake cutting being included in the reception coordination. Guests were not consistently directed through the event, and during cocktail hour, my husband and I ended up helping with the reception flip instead of having the private time we had planned. My maid of honor ultimately had to get food and drinks for us. The reception flip was largely handled by our family, catering team, and florist. I also observed the coordination team filming content during this time rather than being as hands-on as I expected. The photobooth was another major disappointment. The printer did not work, guests did not receive the physical prints we purchased, the digital gallery initially had only 26 photos, and I had to repeatedly follow up afterward for a resolution. I also found communication throughout planning unnecessarily blunt and sometimes felt uncomfortable asking questions or making decisions differently from the coordinator’s preferences. Our wedding itself was beautiful, and many of our vendors were wonderful. However, the fact that the wedding turned out well does not change how much additional work our family, wedding party, and vendors had to take on. For couples considering House of BASH, I recommend carefully reviewing the exact scope of services and clarifying who will actually be responsible for each item on your wedding day. Unfortunately, our experience did not match what we expected when we paid for professional coordination.
