I went to try out bridal dresses with my family here about 3 months ago. I should’ve expected less considering the employees forgot the appointment and did not return my phone calls leading up to the appointment. We had to wait 40 minutes after my appointment time to get attended and the people helping brought out many dresses...that were exactly the OPPOSITE style and sillouette of what I asked for. Once the manager said that “I was very narrowminded”, we decided to walk out in disbelief of the poor customer service of this place. How is this store still possibly open as a business? Would NOT recommend this place to anybody.

If you want detailed, quality, personal service at affordable prices, this is the salon for you. I was assisted in finding the perfect dress within my budget that made me look like a million bucks thanks to the owner who did not stop making alterations for me until it was perfect! Everything is explaine up front and every charge is outline in detail. I couldn’t be happier with the service here. I highly recommend this salon to any future bride!

I found the dress of my dreams here! Maggie, the store owner has been working on wedding dresses for 40+ years. By the time my second fitting came, my dress fit me absolutely perfectly. Within one week of fittings my dress was complete finished. Everything about my experience here was perfect! This is a highly recommended place to visit if you’re looking for your dream dress.

The dress shop was pretty small, smaller than I expected, but nonetheless, I found my dress. The dress owner is pretty pushy, and it's the most friendliest of people. Her sample sizes were pretty limited as well. The initial dress I came in looking for wasn't available, but she said they had similar styles, so I went. The younger assistant, her daughter I believe, was more helpful than the owner herself. I had tried on several dresses, but my heart was set on trying on the one I was looking for. She offered us a discount if we bought that day, so we left to discuss my options. The owner even told me the dress I had my heart set on wouldn't look good on me, which greatly disappointed me. I ended up going back that day to buy my dress, and I have no regrets about my dress! When it came to the fitting appointment, she told me I needed to lose 3 pounds for my dress to look really good, which was the last thing I wanted or needed to hear. She also bustled my dress so that I still had a train, saying "I was a bride and needed a train." She even said she could have done my train differently, but she didn't like that, so she didn't do it. I ended up getting my perfect dress with the exact bustles I wanted, but it was quite an ordeal. All in all, I really wouldn't recommend her place. Her prices are decent, even if she says you're getting a huge discount; you really aren't getting a huge discount. Also, the alteration process was a huge pain. Keep looking for other dress shops!

Maggie is such a sweet and accommodating lady! She really helpful and resourceful when it came to picking out the beautiful, bold bridesmaids dresses we chose. I really trusted her opinion-- my bridesmaids LOVE the dresses she picked! Also, she gladly helped me with alterations on my wedding dress since I bought it in another state. I highly recommend House of Brides for brides and bridesmaids. She makes the process enjoyable.

When I first found House of Brides, it was only 3.5 months before my wedding. After going to over 10 different bridal shops, I still had not found my wedding dress and had accepted the fact that I would not be able to order the one I wanted in time, so I was only looking at off the rack and sample dresses. When I spoke to Maggie and told her the exact dress I was looking for, she not only got a sample for me from the designer within 48 hours, but placed an expedited order for me at a very reasonable price that was within my budget and included all the design changes that I wanted. She assured me that the dress would arrive in time and would personally make sure the alternations were done herself. She made everything go smoothly and everything looked beautiful. She was a real life saver. Can't thank or recommend her enough!

Went to House of Brides to buy my wedding dress. Personnel was very friendly and accommodating. Dress prices were reasonable and I managed to find a dress I loved. The modifications were done quickly and Maggie was very flexible with scheduling further visits. Overall great experience.

Let me start of by saying that the store owner, Maggie, is absolutely amazing! I have never felt more beautiful than the day i got to wear my wedding dress. I came into the store looking for a traditional styled dress with long sleeve dress, however i was disappointed to only find mermaid style dresses that had long sleeve. I explained to Maggie that i have extremely sensitive skin therefore it was important to me to have long sleeves to slightly cover my arms. Maggie was so sweet and accommodating, she encouraged me to try on multile dresses and informed me that she could add the sleeves to any of them. I was excited to hear that she was able to do this. I finally found a beautiful traditional styled Eddy K dress, and i knew that was the one! Maggie assured me that she would make sure the dress looks as beautiful once the sleeve are added, and with some additional lace on the bottom of the dress as well. When it was time to pick up my dress i was slightly nervous since i had no idea what my dress would look like. Maggie, pulled my dress out and my jaw dropped, she worked her magic and i am so thankful she did. Maggie is fabulous, and i would recommend House of Brides to anyone, you will not be disappointed.

Maggie, the store owner, was more than delightful and helpful. She cared to get the correct dress for your body type. She is honest about letting you know why she believes the dress type you have finally chosen is correct for you and she does not mind if you take your business elsewhere as she wants you to be happy.

Finally the bridesmaid has become the bride and Maggie made the experience all the better! The service was outstanding and the store was so neat!

I had to have my order rushed as my wedding is coming up so soon but I absolutely love my gown and Maggie helped me visualize all the alterations and was so patient with me!

I ordered a tuxedo for my proposal. The measurements were perfect and the service was amazing.

I was recently proposed to and my mom immediately rushed me to go dress shopping! We found House of Brides & Tuxedos when buying celebratory slurpees from 7-Eleven next door and decided to stop by! Maggie accommodated for us amazingly even though we had not made an appointment and showed me a bunch of gorgeous brand name dresses and I found myself wanting to buy all of them! In the end I settled for two separate gowns which she said she would alter to fit my needs perfectly! Least stressful wedding ever!

I was amazed with the service here!! Although at first sight it didn't seem to be much, I quickly found out why the store is nearly always bustling! Maggie is great and she really helped me out with a bridesmaid dress, as I ordered online, I couldn't tell the quality from the photos, when it came it was obvious it was pretty low quality and it was much too small for me! I had heard about her from a family friend and decided to give her shop a try and was absolutely amazed with how great the service was and how quickly she was able to give me an appointment as well as find me an AMAZING bridesmaid dress! 20/10 Service!!

I went to House of Brides to have my wedding dress altered. Maggie is extremely helpful, friendly and reasonably priced. She is also realistic and honest when setting expectations. I highly recommend HOB to any new bride.

Horrible service. Was told certain dress samples would be in stock for my appointment only to realize she did have any. Tried to show me other dresses but I was already disappointed and decided to leave. After Maggie decided to argue with me about the dresses not being in store, I decided I would travel the extra 30 miles to someone who does have them and wouldn’t argue with me instead. Stay away from here if you can. She is unprofessional and very unorganized. Don’t get caught up in her bait and switch tactics.

Awesome service. I was able to make installment payments and picked up my dress once payment was done. Highly recommend this shop. They have very elegant and unique dresses that you can't find anywhere else. I was absolutely in love with my wedding gown .

Maggie was AMAZING! I had a terrible day of dress shopping and I was so discouraged when I entered the store. Maggie listened to everything I did and did not want. She then pulled out 6 dresses for me to choose from, all were in alignment with what I described. She had beautiful, quality dresses at great prices. The big issue with my dress is that I had to have it altered in 4 weeks. Maggie had no problem with this. She did fittings with me every week and altered the dress perfectly. She had a great personal touch as well and truly loves what she does.

Maggie was so accomodating and excellent. I didn't have much time to find a bridemaid dress since the wedding is 1.5 months away. I needed a dress that will accomodate my 5 month belly by the wedding. Maggie gave me the attention and time I needed. The first time I came was half an hour before closing but she didn't rush me & was patient with me. I didn't buy a dress at first. But I came back there next day after going to 2 bridal shops. Her price was unbeatable for a very good dress. I loved her honesty. I ended up buying the dress because her customer service was superb.

This place was the first I went to looking for my wedding dress and Maggie was so helpful. I told her my budget and what I was looking for and she came out with this beautiful dress the first one I tried was the one !

I ordered my dress and veil with Maggie at House of Brides and she was really nice and helpful. She offered better pricing than other places I went to. Dress and veil came in and she called me right away and I picked everything up with no issues.

Love, love, love this bridal shop. Don't be fooled by its surroundings. When I pulled up the first time, my Mom said "we are going to Beverly Hills." I told her we are just looking. Well was I wrong and so was my Mom. I purchased my dress that day. There were so many choices it was a very hard decision. I did do my research before and knew this store carried all my favorite designers. The best part was the price, all the dresses were very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend looking here first for you wedding dress.

Thank goodness I found Maggie at House of Brides to literally ease my every anxiety. I actually found my dress in San Diego and they so generously ordered my dress 2 sizes too big! :( When I finally got the dress, it was beautiful but WAY too big. I panicked knowing my wedding was in 2 months and most places take forever to do alterations. I refused to get it done there as they told me it would be upwards of $500! Crazy and PS you ordered the wrong size. Anyways! I needed to find someone close, and very quickly. I read mixed reviews on Maggie, but something told me to go in and meet with her. She has got to be one of the sweetest ladies ever, and is incredibly talented. And she did it for less than half of the price those crazies quoted me! Two fittings and alterations later, and it fit like a glove!! I was so happy with her work. My dress had a lot of lace and a ton of layers, and everything matched up perfectly. You would never know she took almost 4 inches off each side! I ended up ordering all of my bridesmaids dresses from her, as well, and they came in very quickly. She, again, had the best deals in town. Down the street, the same exact dress was $80 more! $80!! Who are these people? Anyways.. They didn’t all fit perfectly, but that was because of the style of dress I ordered. After a quick alteration, all of my ‘maids were good to go! Two weeks before my wedding, I put my dress on again just to check everything out and would you believe I lost weight and it didn’t fit.. again!? I called Maggie almost in tears and she took me in the next day. Two days later, I had another fitting, and two days after that- my absolutely perfect, made for my body dress, was back in my closet. Just in time! My wedding day was magical and my new hubby was in awe over my bangin' dress! Thank you, Maggie, for ALL of your hard work! I don’t know what I would have done without you!

Love Maggie! She was the only shop in this area that had my dress. She gave me a great deal, altered my dress perfectly and made the whole process so easy. Recommended her to my sis in law as well. She's great! Thank you!!!

I'm not planning a large wedding so I'm not waiting long to get married, and my wedding might be moved up even sooner if my dad's health doesn't improve. I started looking at a large retail chain for a dress, but I was told that it could take up to 15 weeks to get a dress, plus 4 weeks for alterations. I'm 6'1" and I need extra length for my wedding gown, even if I wanted to wear flats. They didn't have a single dress long enough for me. After striking out at the large retail store, a friend suggested House of Brides. I had low expectations, but Maggie and Fatima helped my find a PERFECT dress! I didn't think I wanted strapless or a mermaid style, but the gown was stunning. Incredible elegant, classy, and it fit perfectly without any alteration! I always laughed at "Say Yes to the Dress" but when I saw myself in the mirror, I actually cried! Maggie and Fatima were wonderful and I can't wait to send them a picture of me in my gown!

Maggie is just amazing. I went in with an idea and it just didn't work for my shape. She pulled out styles that I didn't even consider, but they looked really good! There is no pressure and she really knows her stuff! Alterations were done in house, even around the intricate beading on my dress. I highly recommend House of Brides to anyone who is looking for great service, great quality, and no pressure! I ended up buying my wedding dress here as well as a crystal hairpiece that matched the beading on my dress.

I have been coming to House of brides for years for brides maid dresses and now it was finally my time to be the bride. Maggie has helped me when my bridesmaid dress was too small. I purchased my dress from another store, but my Maggie was still happy to do my alterations for me. She took pride in my dress as if I had ordered it from her. My dress came 3 sizes too big and it had lots of lace on it. Maggie basically had to do a custom dress for me. The alterations were amazing and you can clearly tell Maggie is skilled and knows her business. I highly recommend House of Brides!

Maggie is seriously the sweetest and most helpful person I have ever had the experience to work with for a wedding event. I have been in countless weddings and have never had a better experience than the one I had with House of Brides (Torrance/Lomita, CA). She (Maggie) made the trying on, ordering, alterations, and scheduling EFFORTLESS. She did a WONDERFUL job on making the dress fit just right during the alteration process. I will definitely take all my future alteration needs to her. Not to mention she is just so sweet and a great person to be around, on top of the GREAT service. She made the whole experience painless. I was a little wary at first going into this store because of its location. It's not in the best neighborhood. Upon entering the store I was pleasantly surprised by the HUGE selection of dresses they had and easily chose 10 to try on. The store only has a couple employees so I having my sister there was a benefit because she was able to help me into dresses so as not to be sitting around waiting to be helped. They only have 2 changing rooms and theyre just a curtain held up by pvc pipe, but lets face it I wasn't there for the fitting rooms. Upon purchase I was not given a date to expect the dress and it took several days to get someone on the phone to tell me when it should come in. I was pleasantly surprised it only took 3 months when most other stores told me to expect 6-8! Due to moving I did not have my dress tailored here.

they had many choices of dresses on hand.;ALWAYS ask if their are ANY additional fees for anything. I thought that the dress would include the bussel and would have the dress not wrinkled but she charged for everything seperate and did not let me know before hand so if you have a budget make sure you get the total cost including the bussel steam cleaning & oh! tayloring it's pricy or maybe she is! $200-$300 just to bring in the side of the dress 1/2 an inch!
