TLDR: I was unsatisfied with both the service and the final product. Spent $90 on a hem; after 3 attempts, the dress was still crooked. I gave the store ample time to remedy this situation, but they ignored my requests. Sharing this to ensure that others do not have the same experience that I did.
I was advised by House of JonLei Atelier in early July that in order to receive a bridesmaid dress for a late October wedding with enough time for alterations, I should pay $60 for an 8-week rush. The dress took 13 weeks to arrive; during which time I was not provided any updates unless I called the store directly. The rush fee was refunded, however this left me with no time to seek alterations outside of the store. The saleswoman told me that the seamstress could complete alterations within 24 hours, which made me question the pressure to pay for a rush fee in the first place.
When I attended my first dress fitting in early October, according to the seamstress, the only necessary alteration was to hem the dress. As I had 3 weeks before leaving town for the wedding, I did not have enough time to go to another seamstress, so I used the one provided by the store. This turned out to be a terrible mistake. I paid $90 for a hem that was done incorrectly 3 times.
I arrived to find my second appointment time double booked. The seamstress seemed surprised that I wanted to try to the dress on before leaving and she asked her other appointment if it was ok for her to see me quickly. The dress was so long that it dragged on the floor and it was longer on one side.
At the third appointment, the dress was still crooked. The seamstress argued it was not, so I pulled out my sewing tape measure and showed her that it was 2 inches longer on one side.
At the fourth appointment, the week before the wedding, the dress was still longer on one side. I asked to speak with a manager and the saleswoman said she could help me (it’s not clear if she was the manager). At my request, the seamstress measured the dress and admitted it was longer on one side. The saleswoman said that the dress needed to be let out on the side of the bodice. While I appreciate that the saleswoman made a suggestion on how to correct the mistake, I had lost faith in the seamstress and would not let her touch my dress again – especially since altering the bodice could lead to more noticeable errors than a crooked hem. Furthermore, since she did not identify the solution herself in the four appointments that I had with her, I did not trust the seamstress to fix the dress on the next attempt.
I spent the wedding day tripping over the side of the dress that was too long. I will now have to pay a better seamstress to correctly hem this dress should I ever wish to wear it in the future.
🚨🚨😭BE CAREFUL! My wedding is in 3 weeks and they don’t have my dress ready!!! I bought my PRONOVIAS dress more than one year ago and I don’t even have the first fitting. Worst experience here from waiting for my dress over a year and pst the arrival date by 2 months! When went in for fitting was charged over 1,200 and when I wanted a second opinion a 150$ finning fee was charged! I had the admin person laugh in my face don’t go here beware!!
I would first like to start off by saying the dresses were very beautiful and this was my very first shop. My family and I came in 20 minutes early to select the dresses that I would be trying on. That being said, I had a horrible experience with the associate. She came up to me with a few questions to which was fine. However, when she asked me what type of dresses I wanted to try on. I explained to her, "Since this is my very first bridal shop experience, I do not know exactly what I want. I would like to try on a variety of different styles so I can narrow it down." She then explained to me "You must have some type of opinion on what you want to be in." I then replied with "Yes, I do, I like blingy. However, your store does not have much of the dresses that I was seeing online which is fine. I will still like to try on a variety of styles still because what I like might not look right on me and I do not want to settle on one style so quickly." She then asked me to show her the dresses I choose and to explain to her why I chose them. I felt on the defense at this point, and immediately no longer felt comfortable about being there. She then stated, "From the dresses you chose, I will choose what I think looks good because I know how each dress looks." As a potential customer who is going to spend a couple of thousands on her wedding dress, I did not feel I should be told by someone who just meet me only five minutes ago, what I should wear on my wedding day. I will not mention her name on this post, but I felt highly disrespected by this associate.
If I could give this business a negative one star I would. Their behavior was horrible!!!!!!! From the owner to the staff. The owner lost his objectivity and berated me as a customer after my complaint. I had a horrible experience at this store. Following my terrible experience I spoke with the owner only for him to add insult to injury by defending the negative behavior and poor attitude of his staff. He offered one excuse after another, and as a matter of fact the owner stated, that he felt that his employees "deserved a pat on the back" in response to my complaint of the horrible customer service that I received. This store did not value my business and made no apologies for the terrible treatment that my daughter and I received from their store. Their lack of care and poor customer service has caused my daughter to now be without a wedding veil and her wedding day is fast approaching. We should have been aware of this possibility ahead of time. We selected the veil at the time we selected the dress and if there was a danger in the veil not being able to arrive on time for the wedding date we should have been told. We were told that we had time to order the veil and that the worst case scenario would be that we would be able to purchase the store sample. We expected more but we have learned a valuable lesson. We should have read the reviews before we selected this vendor to purchase my daughter’s Pronovias wedding gown. If I ever have to purchase another Pronovias dress I will contact them directly to have them recommend another one of their vendors. Always go where your business is valued and my business was not valued at this store.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. By far the worst experience I have ever experience in customer service-- in my 26 years of shopping, dining, traveling, ordering dresses as well this takes the cake.
They do not know how to take a proper measurement. I got measured theyinitially told me I hid a size 18 well for a dress. I am in no way shape or form a size 18 dress, am I the skinniest in the world no but my previous bridal the biggest size I ever got was a 12-14. Which I expected with this. We try on a few dresses and find one I like and take the measurements. Go to check out-was told "oh hunni with the measurements you're a size 18 and due to that we must up charge you for that". So basically telling me you got to pay more because your fat. So I insisted to get a size down because I'm paying for it it's not their money, was told no and made to get the bigger size. Flash forward to yesterday when we went as a group to try on dresses. First of all they were rude as soon as we get in the door, no welcome no offer of excited you chose us- instead we were told the reservation was messed up and we needed to be very quick since they had another party coming in. Mistake #1 in customer service. We are there for a service, a BRIDE CHOSE YOU to take care of her bridesmaids on the biggest day of her life. We get to trying on, so these dresses weren't cheap they we're making a good penny off of us-- 1 yes I said ONE DRESS OUT OF TEN FIT. And not the expected alterations like a hem or slight adjustment, were talking having to re-create 10 dresses to look how we need to look. They ordered a 12yo a women's size 8 so figure it out on your own how that went. To my personal experience I hated this place,I don't use that word much. They were the most unapologetic Unaccommodating staff I even think we worked with the owner/manager and she didn't even seem to give two shits that we were unhappy. I tried my dress on last and it was huge. When I knew from the beginning didn't need this size. We expressed our frustration and were told over/over again it was not their problem and they were not going to offer any type of "I'm sorry even if there is not much we can do I apologize for your frustration and I understand", not a "let me make this right since we messed up your measurements". And their accommodation was wanting to re-take my measurements. When they did,I was told "omg looks like you've lost weight girl". I HAD LOST 4-5 inches IN A TOTAL OF 3months, which is funny considering I just started working out two weeks ago. IF I DID LOSE THAT MUCH I WOULD BE SELLING A WORLDWIDE BOOK ON WEIGHT LOSS AND MAKING A FORTUNE. The whole experience was terrible I mean terrible- they said "oh looks like you should have been a size 12-14". Oh really lady? Ya think- I tried to tell ya that in the beginning. once again no I'm sorry no let me make this right. The bride asked could you at least refund the up charge for the plus size since clearly measured wrong- not even acknowledged.And this is the BRIDE THE MOST IMPORTANT PIECE OF YOUR BUSINESS AND THE PUZZLE. I'm still flabbergasted, if I could I would contact corporate to get this chain shut down because they are terrible. Once all said and done we expressed our frustration once again and were basically told to "get out because we have another party". I mean isn't the first rule of customer service make everyone feel welcome and not rushed- THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT is not a value this place has.

Excellent shop to purchase your dress! GiGi is very knowledgeable when it comes to the dress you are looking for. She is a very personable person and makes you feel like family. My bridesmaids were from out of town and wasn't able to commute back and forth to pick out dresses. GiGi was able to give me some websites for them to look for dresses. She stayed in contact with me on their selections. Once they came to town to try on their dresses they were happy. For the ones that couldn't find dresses due to their body type GiGi was able to show them other selections which complimented their bodies and in the end everyone was happy and looked awesome!!! I would definitely recommend House of JonLei Atelier!
I am so glad that my mom and I decided to come visit this store this past weekend to try and find my dream dress! Gigi and her staff were wonderful and my consultant was awesome, she made me feel so comfortable and made sure that I was happy. I cannot wait for my dress to come in and go back to visit them! This bridal salon went above and beyond to help me find my perfect wedding dress. Everyone was incredibly friendly and my consultant defiantly knew her stuff. I ended up buying a dress on clearance and it being discontinued i got to take the dress home with me (it being the last one ) I cannot wait to go back and do my alterations with this store. I would recommend this store to all and any of my friends !!!!! So incredibly happy. Thank you so much !!!!
My wedding gown and all of the dresses and tuxedos for the bridal party came from the House of JonLei. The dresses were completely beautiful. GiGi does a superb job of helping you find your perfect dress and then she selects the perfect accessories to go with the dress. Vino worked with the guys on the tuxedos and they ended up looking great. Overall they create a friendly atmosphere and treat you like family. The only drawback was the cost of the alterations. But overall it was a great experience and our entire bridal party looked stunning thanks to them!
GiGi and her crew are perfect! My dress was perfect! The experience was perfect! I am so happy I found this shop after the original shop I bought my dress at went out of business and left me dressless. GiGi calmed me down and went straight to work trying to find me another dress. The whole crew's positive and upbeat attitudes made the dark cloud over me disappear. They also helped me pick out my bridesmaids dresses and a last minute dress for my grandmother. I purchased my flower girl dress elsewhere but they did the alterations and her dress came out as perfect as the other dresses purchased there. They make you feel like a part of the family by the end of the experience. If I had had the room I would've invited them all to our wedding!
I got my dress here at their sample sale. It was perfect for me and I got it for 65% off. I love a bargain so that was great. But what really got me was how they were able to take a size 10 sample and make it fit a size 2 person. The alterations were what really made this place stand out. They even made the train completely removable so I didn't have to worry about hauling it around all night. I would have never thought of that! But thank goodness they did!
