We cannot recommend Houston Hall enough as a wedding venue! The staff was excellent- they helped us plan the entire timeline of the day and ensured everything ran smoothly. We got so many compliments from our guests about how attentive the service was, and that they absolutely loved the food! This venue is so unique and such a gem in New York City. It held so many guest, and had such a great rustic vibe. Thank you Houston Hall for giving us a wedding we will never forget!
Could not have asked for a better venue for our wedding reception! Christon was so attentive, helped to manage her own staff as well as our other vendors and remembered fun little moments from our tasting to incorporate into the big day. Nothing was too much trouble and every little detail was considered to map out the perfect day. The day-of staff provided great service and were all so attentive.
Houston Hall has the perfect ambience of romance, sophistication yet all of fun of your favorite beer hall; creating such a unique and special day. Loads of guests commented it was the best food they'd had at a wedding (shout out the grilled cheese and soup shooters!). I love that we will be able to visit our venue time and again, for a more casual drink, for years to come.
Christon and the team were so amazing every step of the way! From the tasting to the day of set up - everything was seamlessly taken care of and we felt extremely supported!! They helped make our special day extra amazing and we will forever be grateful for their hard work and dedication!! We would absolutely recommend for anyone looking for a fun, seamless, supportive, and most importantly easy wedding planning process!!!
Any questions?
We held our wedding at Houston Hall in October 2023. From first booking, the Houston hall event team was involved every step of the way, and had an organized process of keeping us informed. The ones that stick out were menu flexibility and options and the use of an online platform that kept all of our documentation, communication, and billing in one place.
When it came to our big day, we and our guests were so pleased with Houston Hall. The food was excellent. Our guests really enjoyed the family style servings, and raved about how delicious the food was. Food came out timely, and Houston was very organized in ensuring all our guest with dietary restrictions were accommodated. Above all, the service was amazing. Both us and our guests were taken care of by friendly and efficient waitstaff and bartenders. This is something our guests still talk about. Also important to note was that our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception were all in the same location. The staff turned the location seamlessly during our cocktail hour without our guests being interrupted or even noticing.
The venue itself was everything we hoped it would be. To enhance our guests experience, we opted to rent chairs (in place of benches) and edison lights. This process was seamless, as Houston had a recommended vendor who they work with frequently to deliver and install. Houston was also very accommodating to help us deliver and store items before the wedding (for example, our table decor, rented florals and cake).
By choosing Houston Hall, we had an amazing, memorable, and low stress wedding day. We would highly recommend without hesitation for your wedding, or any other big event.
We had an unforgettable wedding at Houston Hall June 2023. Christon & her team did a wonderful job from start to finish. Our guests still rave about the space, food and how seamless the evening went. Thanks again!
We had a perfect night! Michele and Christon are amazing!! Everything stuck to schedule perfectly, we had so many compliments the next day of how much fun of an experience and how great the food was!! Highly recommend, they are very laid back and flexible for different requests!!
Thank you again
Houston Hall was the most amazing venue for our wedding! People still rave about the food- it was such a fun menu and the most beautiful space to make your wedding vision come to life. Truly the best!
We had an INCREDIBLE wedding at Houston Hall this summer, in what was the hottest day of the year, and Christon and her team didn’t miss a beat. Everything went off without a hitch. From the venue, to the service, to the food - our guests were raving! Christon is such a delight to work with- she makes everything seamless. Almost 6 months later, we’re still beaming about that night. Thank you to everyone at Houston Hall who made it so unforgettable!
As mother-of-a-bride, I can honestly say Houston Hall and its’ amazing staff set the stage for a wonderful day for my daughter and son-in-law. Over a month later, family and friends are still raving about the quality of the food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. Having a venue with ample room for the wedding ceremony and reception, plus a top notch bar, was key. The design of the space provided a built- in backdrop for picturesque photos. Thank you Houston Hall for a dream come true! A special shout out to Christon Rubio at HH!
Our wedding was a little over a month ago, 10/22/23. This venue is gorgeous. We had an absolutely wonderful experience working with the team at Houston Hall. Christon and Michelle were gems to work with. Michelle went out of her way to make my bridal party and myself feel at ease (and calm) on the day of our wedding. They both made our day super special and we are incredibly grateful.
Our guests still tell us what a wonderful time they had. Words such as best wedding they’ve ever been to have come up several times. We attribute a lot of that to the entire amazing staff. Our friends cannot stop raving about the food, especially the burgers. Everyone was stuffed! Everything was delicious and exactly as we asked for. We absolutely recommend holding your wedding, or any special event, at Houston Hall. We guarantee you will have a wonderful time and an amazing team working with you to make it even more special! We cannot thank you all enough for making us feel so special on our day!
Houston Hall was a dream wedding venue! Unique and stunning space with tons of options to customize the look & feel; delicious food; and wonderful staff. Christon and her team were fantastic to work with from day one: Enthusiastic, flexible, communicative, and, creative when it came to developing solutions. Thank you Christon and Houston Hall for bringing our wedding vision to life. We had the best time and so did our guests!!
I don’t even know where to begin. Houston Hall felt like home from the first moment we stepped inside for a venue tour. The venue is beautiful and unique as-is, the drinks delicious, the location outstanding. However, what made our experience truly special was Christon, who was the most thoughtful and talented vendor I’ve ever worked with. I have never felt so much love in one room. Christon was spectacular from the first tour until wedding night. While we all went to a bar next door to celebrate the after-after party, my mom was left alone to clean up some of the personal items we brought. Once again going above and beyond, Christon made sure my mom made it home safely and walked her back to her hotel. These little touches of care are typical with Christon. She is fun, flexible, dedicated and a true pleasure to work with. It was the best night of our lives for many reasons, and Houston Hall was the only backdrop that felt right.
We were so lucky to work with the team at Houston Hall - especially Christon & Michelle, who went above & beyond with their attention to detail, kindness, and incredible coordination. There's nothing like showing up for a signature drinks tasting and hearing they have multiple versions of a cocktail for you to try, because they want to make sure they got it exactly right :)
It's a gorgeous space, and and our friends are still talking about how good the food was! Houston Hall had so much included in their service, which allowed us to focus on personalizing and making the day really special. We couldn't be happier with our choice.
We had a reception only party at Houston Hall back in May and it was amazing! We worked with Christon at HH to help get everything planned and ready for the day and she was such a pleasure to work with! She worked well with the external vendors we used and even called the bakery that supplied dessert when the pastries delivered damaged and had them deliver replacements. She's really on point.
The venue itself is beautiful with all the exposed brick, a gorgeous bar, etc. Since there was no ceremony we did not even need to buy flowers because they venue is so nice. They also have a lot of basic decor pieces and candles that they will set up for you that warm the place up so nicely. The bar is so well staffed that no one waited a long time for drinks. The food (apps and dinner) was delicious which sometimes isn't the case for weddings.
We hired our own band and got some additional audio support but the venue easily held our band and they sounded great.
The entire staff for the event was awesome. Highly recommend Houston Hall for your wedding, reception, or any event!!
We held our wedding reception at Houston Hall in June and cannot rave enough about our experience! Houston Hall provided the perfect backdrop for our dream wedding where non-traditional meets traditional (with romance AND party vibes) in the heart of NYC. Aesthetically, the venue speaks for itself with high ceilings, exposed brick walls and a massive open-concept layout and bar. The events team at Houston Hall were outstanding including Christon, the events manager/day-of coordinator. As we did not have a wedding planner, she listened to our vision and was thoughtful, understanding and compassionate as she helped us navigate the steps leading up to the wedding. On the day of the wedding, Christon, Michelle and the entire staff at Houston Hall including waitstaff, bartenders, security and set-up/break-down crew were attentive, welcoming and executed every last detail seamlessly. This truly allowed us to be present, take everything in and have the best day of our lives!
Special recognition also has to go out to the kitchen team as the food was absolutely delicious! So many guests came up to us gushing over the passed appetizers and entire family style meal, letting us know it was some of the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding! As a vegetarian, ensuring that there were plenty options for all guests, including vegan options, was essential. Houston Hall worked with us to customize our entire menu and accommodated every single dietary need with plenty of options (including tofu!!).
Look no further and book your wedding with Houston Hall now! Warning: you will have the best time of your life!
We had a really wonderful wedding (and one of the best days our lives) at Houston Hall! One of the reasons we chose the space was because of how welcoming and helpful the coordinator, Christon Rubino, was from the very first time we met her. I can't say enough good things about the staff: the bartenders, servers, coordinators (thank you, Christon and Michelle!), seemed as excited about our wedding as we were.
The space itself feels like you're in a rustic hall/barn somewhere upstate, but is so conveniently located in Soho. I still hear from friends and family two months after the wedding about how delicious and creative the food was. The hor'dourves were absolutely out of the world.
My husband and I were having an inter-cultural/religious wedding, mixing Hindu and Christian elements, Indian and American elements, but Christon worked with us on everything we wanted to customize from the open flame during the ceremony to the Rose & Cardamom Old-Fashioned for our signature drink.
So grateful that we picked the right choice of venue for our wedding, and he highly recommend this venue for all future couples :)
From planning through the actual day, our wedding experience with Houston Hall was fantastic! The space is beautiful, the food is delicious, and the staff is helpful from start to finish. Christon was detailed, calm (and calming), kind, responsive, and flexible from our first contact email through our wedding day (and even the day after!). We DIY'ed our flowers, and she and her team set them up beautifully during a very hectic (for them and for us, I'm sure!) wedding morning. She also made sure our TEN ice cream cakes were stored with care and ease. She and Houston Hall made it so easy to drop off wedding materials the day before the wedding, which was a huge relief, especially since our schedule kept changing! We had an excellent tasting experience and received rave reviews about the quality, quantity, and variety of the food from all of our guests. They seamlessly accommodated all dietary restrictions. Houston Hall provides many in-house detail and decoration options, in addition to offering a plethora of vendor recommendations if you have additional needs. We loved our day at Houston Hall and we wish we could repeat it!

If you’re considering Houston Hall, I am here to tell you that it is the PERFECT choice. We could not have dreamed of a better venue for our wedding. Christon was absolutely outstanding from beginning through the day of the wedding, the staff were incredible, the setting was gorgeous. Surprisingly, the entire day was flawless from start to finish thanks to the wonderful people at Houston Hall. It was truly the most magical day of our lives, and we could not be happier. Our wedding was a month ago, and people are still talking about how gorgeous it was and how much they loved our venue. Just PERFECT. Thank you Christon, and the staff at Houston Hall!!! ♥️♥️♥️
Oh What A Night !!!! Everything was absolute perfection. Can't say enough good things about the entire staff. Everyone was so professional and attentive to our guests. A month later our guests are still raving about the food ! The gem of this unique and beautiful venue was Christon the event coordinator who was on top of everything from our first inquiry to the last dance and beyond. I would highly recommend Houston Hall and hope I can attend as a guest in the future. Dream Day !
We had the absolute best time at our wedding at Houston Hall!! The space itself is beautiful on it's own with its high ceilings, exposed brick and the long white bar. We opted to bring in chairs, a dance floor and extra lighting for a little more romantic feel - everything was perfect. We had so much fun, the dance floor was packed the whole night. Most importantly, the bar was staffed with enough bartenders that people didn't have to wait in line for drinks - something I appreciated very much!
I cannot say enough great things about Houston Hall's manager Christon; I felt like I was in such capable hands the first time we met. Everything ran so smoothly with Christon in charge (I actually had to ask her to take over my wedding planner's responsibilities at some point and I'm so happy I did). From that moment on, everything ran like clock work. Her entire staff was super professional and I cannot thank them enough. We had the absolute best time!!
It has been a month and a half since our wedding at Houston Hall, and we can truly say with 100% certainty that it was THE best night of our lives. If anyone is looking for that dream combination of an NYC wedding in the most uniquely romantic setting with plenty of party potential, this is your spot.
The moment we met Christon, we knew Houston Hall had to be the venue. Christon is an incredibly thoughtful, detail oriented, down to earth person, which is exactly what we needed in the days and months leading up to the wedding. She understood exactly who we are and what we wanted, dug in on those details, and helped us always feel calm and ready. We could not have asked for a better day of coordinator.
Christon and her staff nailed every detail on the day of. From the beautiful setting being exactly what we imagined, to the food and drinks (bartenders are amazing!!), to the dance floor, we could not have asked for more and we would change absolutely nothing. There are simply not many venues which would infuse gin with earl gray tea (in house!) to make one of two signature drinks named after our kittens.
In the end, so many people told us it was the best wedding they have ever been to. We simply could not have pulled it off without the perfect venue and their incredible staff, and this was it.
It’s two months later and we are all still talking about what a wonderful wedding we had at Houston Hall. The Venue looked incredible, the Staff were Extraordinary and Christon was personally invested in making sure every guest at the wedding had a wonderful time. She went above and beyond in every way and she improved on every idea we had. The food was fantastic and multiple guests commented that it was the best fish they had ever had at a wedding! Because of their attention to every detail it was stress free and everyone had a fabulous time. We highly recommend Houston Hall for any Event!!
Houston hall was my dream venue and Christon and her team executed my vision down to every little detail. All of my family and friends are still talking about the food and saying it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to. I couldn’t imagine picking another venue. So different, so special and so unique. Houston hall is perfection and you’ll regret not picking it! Wow wow wow! Still no words, the most perfect day ever
Houston Hall was the perfect choice for our wedding! Our guests raved about the food, the space, and the service. We worked with Christon throughout the whole process. She was professional and accommodating, and she exceeded our expectations on the day. The space transformed into the rustic garden wedding we had envisioned, and the HH team handled all the set up/tear down. We just showed up! Highly recommend!
BEST DAY EVER! Houston Hall was the perfect wedding venue for us. The space is a hidden gem and photographs incredibly well. The staff was kind and helpful, huge shout out to Christon Rubino(Event Manager). She is caring and professional. Her attention to detail is organized and thoughtful, we always felt taken care of and she made the day flawless. We can't say enough about the food. The fun apps and delicious main course went above and beyond our expectations. If you are considering this venue for your special day, you will not regret it. Our guests continue to rave about the day, from the space to the food, so we know we made the right decision. Thanks to Houston Hall for making our wedding unforgettable.
If you're looking for an industrial, chic, spacious venue in Manhattan, then Houston Hall is the ideal location. Thanks to Christon and our incredible florist, this well-known weekend beer hall became unrecognizable - in the best way! Christon went above and beyond to incorporate personal details into our wedding day. The bartenders and bar service were exceptional. There was zero wait time for drinks. The only complaint we heard was that some guests did not have enough food to eat during dinner service, since it was family style. The food itself was quite delicious though. Our guests seemed to love the venue as much as we did, and a few even want to book future events there.
We were evaluating Houston Hall for a potential NYC wedding and were so impressed by Christon, the Event Manager who was our point of contact. Christon gave us a thorough tour, was patient with our questions, painted a picture for how the day would go and where different items would go, and was ready with an ipad to show us pictures of how the space could be decorated day-of. We highly recommend Christon for a wedding point of contact and Houston Hall as a beautiful, funky venue for a wedding!
We could not have asked for a better experience to celebrate our wedding than at Houston Hall! Christon went above and beyond making sure everything we wanted went perfectly both before and during the wedding! The staff were so friendly and amazing! Everyone still talks about how great the food and drinks were. Also the venue itself was picture perfect and gave us some really amazing photos!
We had an absolute DREAM wedding at Houston Hall this October! Christon and the team made everything truly perfect. Christon was incredible and such a joy to work with: Professional, communicative, and thoughtful, with an amazing attention to detail. She met with us multiple times to understand our vision, and we felt she listened to exactly what we wanted. She gave expert advise and guidance; we couldn't believe how gorgeous everything turned out! On the day of, I didn't have to worry about anything - There was always a staff member at my side with a cocktail exactly when I needed it! The food was amazing, and all our guests told us so. The space itself was transformed into a dreamy, glowing, autumnal beerhall wonderland. The bartenders and servers were TOP notch, especially Christian who also helped with our tasting visit. Multiple guests told us it was the most fun they'd ever had at a wedding, and we think the venue, staff, food, and seamless flow at Houston Hall had a lot to do with that. Thank you so much for everything, Christon and team!!
Houston Hall is an amazing venue for a wedding! We got married here on 9/24/21 and had 118 people. Highly recommend. The event manager, Christon Rubino, was amazing throughout the entire process. She was responsive, creative, resourceful, accommodating, and generally delightful! The bar tenders, table bussers, security, and all other event staff were also excellent and very much on point on the day of our wedding. No issues or hiccups on our special day. Perfect execution by Ms. Rubino and her team. The venue itself was also hit. When it was all set up on our wedding day, the space looked even better than expected. All guests loved the venue. The vaulted ceilings and genuine rustic/industrial feel was truly one of a kind. Expansive menu, and the food was delicious. Also included was a fun food and drink tasting. Overall, Houston Hall is an incredible venue, and Christon will take very good care of you each step of the way.
I think it’s important to take a moment and review Houston Hall my wedding venue…..even though our wedding never took place. I hope others will learn from our experience with this venue.
Ana and I were engaged in 2019 and set to marry June 20th, 2020. Soon after the quarantine began here in NYC we decided it would be best to postpone the wedding until June 2021. At the same time we had both been furloughed from our jobs since mid-March. About a month ago we found out that are furloughs have been extended until 2021. After a gut-wrenching talk we made the decision to cancel our wedding and use that money to help carry us through the months ahead. We had paid Houston Hall $20,000 in deposits up until that point.
Coincidentally, around this time we had been on a conference call that was discussing how many venues would not make it back after Covid. We also heard some horror stories about venues not refunding deposits for various reasons. That night I sent an email to our planner Jorie Cohen letting her know that we had made the decision to cancel the wedding and would need the deposit back. I knew the hall had been closed due to the restrictions around the city. Was Jorie still working? Was the venue ever coming back to life? Would we get our money back?
I think it’s important to point out that by this time in the planning Jorie had become an honorary member to both our families. From our initial visit and through all the trials and tribulations Jorie was there for us. She was always cheerful, positive and efficient. The question was did her ownership/leadership carry the same virtues?
Shortly after I emailed Jorie she responded back. She empathized and I could tell was genuinely saddened for us. Family! She let us know that she would forward the cancellation over to the accounting team. We held our breath in hopes the next step would get us there. Soon after we received an email from Shain stating the paperwork would be processed and the money refunded within two weeks. After 14 days we hadn’t received anything….
On day 15😊 we received the $20,000 in our account!!!
Thank you to the Houston Hall Ownership, Management and Jorie for being a stand up organization all around!
Cheers,
Paul and Ana
We just had our son's greeting party here on Friday night before the wedding on Saturday. It was a perfect spot. The space is large enough so that no one felt crowded, the atmosphere was casual but fun, the number of servers and bar tenders were perfect.
The food much better than one would think of "bar food" and alcohol options great. Jorie, the event planner, was a jewel to work with and made it seemless all the way even though we live in Florida and had to do much contact long distance. I would highly recommend the site.
Houston Hall was my absolute dream venue! It only took me a year to find and it was a place my husband had frequented throughout our relationship!! Amanda was incredible to work with from our walk through to our tasting, leading up to our actual wedding day. The food was incredible!! Our friends and family raved about the cocktail hour appetizers and couldn’t say enough great things about dinner! We went with a family style dinner and everyone loved how much food their was to choose from. Our guests danced the night away and raved about how it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to!
Houston Hall was our dream venue. It was a bonus that the food and service was phenomenal. Not to mention, for a big venue in a fantastic neighborhood this place is a steal. It is so aesthetically pleasing that you do not need to add much flowers or decor, but by all means, you can do literally whatever you want, they are so chill and open to anything - they hung our college flag for us, let us put real lit candles all over, and let us select some of their Christmas decor to keep up for our wedding. Jorie is on the newer side to Houston Hall, but we cannot say enough good things about her. She was organized and answered our every question promptly. Our guests had the best time and it was truly our perfect and best day ever!!
We saw 14 venues across three states, and Houston Hall was far and away our favorite. The West Village location is amazing for in-town and out-of-town guests, giving them an only-in-New-York experience. The building itself is so unique and distinctive in its aesthetic. The cobblestone foyer transitions from New York City to your private, industrial rustic space. The teams transform the place into an elevated venue. People felt like they walked into another universe from the outside.
From the banquet coordinator to the staff, from the bartenders to the chefs, everyone we met and worked with was so kind, accommodating, and flexible. If you want a little bit of customization but don’t want to deal with a caterer and get all your own place settings, Houston Hall strikes a balance between letting you do what you want within a structured framework. They also provide you with bathroom attendants, security guards, and an AV tech who can coordinate with your band. On the day-of everyone was so helpful, punctual, professional, and on point. The night moved seamlessly, and we can only imagine how much behind-the-scenes teamwork it takes to make that happen.
All of our guests raved about the food! When my mom got back from taking photos, her friend took her around to try all the different appetizers, but she didn’t make it around to the charcuterie. Meanwhile, my aunt loved the charcuterie so much that she didn’t make it around to the other appetizers. Houston Hall served the dinner family style, which our guests liked because it made people interact with each other and everyone could take what they wanted and try a little bit of everything. At the end of the night, we ordered Joe’s pizza for our guests. Houston Hall was cool with it. They even joined in when we offered them a slice.
From a planning perspective, since Houston Hall is technically a beer hall and a restaurant, it was really convenient to come in when we wanted. Since they have normal business hours, we were able to stop by to view the space in the daylight and in the evening. Our banquet coordinator always greeted us and offered us drinks, which made us feel welcome. Also since Houston Hall is a restaurant, if you pay with a credit card that gives you double points for dining, you get double points for your wedding. When I realized that, I gasped and nearly fainted.
All in all, Houston Hall is a venue well-suited for the memory of your wedding day. Thinking back on it, the space lent an air of coolness to our wedding while also remaining warm and inviting. It’s the kind of space your memory wants to live in. The people we worked with realized our plans and elevated our wedding beyond what we envisioned. We only want to get married once, but if we had it to do over, we’d absolutely go with Houston Hall.
Houston Hall is a hidden gem of a wedding venue in NYC. We wanted to get married in the city, but wanted character and didn't want the traditional ballroom / hotel venue. Houston Hall had everything we wanted and more! The space is gorgeous all on its own with beautiful exposed brick, skylight, and high ceilings. We added lights, candles, and flowers, and only needed minimal decoration to make it personal.
The food is fantastic (mac and cheese and fried chicken are killer) and the staff is incredibly attentive. Jorie, the venue coordinator, was responsive, organized, and worked hard to make sure we had everything covered before, during, and after our wedding. We felt like we were in great hands the entire time, and really didn't have to worry about anything. We were able to relax and enjoy our day and it turned out better than we could have hoped!
If you're looking for a less traditional venue in the city, check out Houston Hall, you'll fall in love the the character, and be pleased with the service, amenities, price point, and overall quality.
From the moment we began wedding planning with Houston Hall, we knew we were in good hands. Jorie Cohen and her team were impressively professional, friendly, approachable, and, in what is probably most important for a wedding, very well organized. The were also responsive, getting in touch in a timely fashion regarding everything from lighting to seating to timetables to overall wedding planning, and ultimately they transformed what is already an impressive space -- if you haven't been to Houston Hall in Manhattan, it is a grand beer hall with both modern verve and a palpable history -- into an otherworldly one.
In other words, I would have been more than happy to have had my wedding at Houston Hall in its everyday form, namely a large dining hall with an impressively ornate bar, featuring a brick interior and long tables that denote that it has existed on Houston probably as long as Katz's Deli. I figured that, with a few lights and a few flowers, the place would be hipster chic, invoking the history of New York while also looking forward to a bold yet minimalist future. I did not anticipate what Houston Hall would transform into, a unique and invigorating space that was reminiscent of the most opulent banquet halls in Game of Thrones. The combination of careful lighting, beautiful place settings, and stunning floral arrangements transformed Houston Hall into a space that was both incredibly impressive yet also warm and inviting.
We held our ceremony near the entrance of the dining hall, as the afternoon sunlight illuminated the room, and, once it concluded, and we disappeared into the private room upstairs, Houston Hall's staff effortlessly moved the chairs from the ceremonial space to the dining tables, opening up room for the cocktail hour, and, later, the dance floor. We had 160 people at our wedding, and yet there was more than enough room for a dance floor, for toasts, for cake cutting, and for people to move around during all of the proceedings with ease. That the staff were able to rearrange the space seemingly effortlessly with that many people in attendance is a testament to their organization, and that we never wanted for anything during dinner is a testament to their focus and efficacy. (In addition to being a beautiful space, Houston Hall features terrific food, and multiple guests, some of them frequent curmudgeons, remarked that they were being served the best wedding food they'd ever had.) Throughout the entire evening, everything was anticipated, and therefore what was a carefully orchestrated party appeared to be pulled off effortlessly.
In short, holding our wedding at Houston Hall was the best decision we could have made. Funky and hip, historical yet modern, and featuring a staff that is organized and engaged, nothing was left to chance, and everything came together perfectly. Were I to do it all over again, Houston Hall would still be my first choice.
Houston Hall was everything we could have dreamed of in our wedding venue. We desperately wanted to get married in Manhattan but couldn’t figure out a cost-effective venue where we would then I guess have to have a caterer come for food and beverage, rent tables and dishware, and none of these places had reliable venue management... and then we found Houston Hall. HH has EVERYTHING: great and plentiful food, great and plentiful drinks, huge banquet tables, and the most beautiful space to get married in. We had our ceremony and reception there, and the staff was so amazing setting everything up and then transforming the space for cocktail hour and dinner service, and having a private dance party at Houston Hall was the most fun thing!! Jorie Cohen is an amazing venue/special events manager and she will hold your hand and make sure that HH is everything you need it to be for your day. Also, got to reiterate that the food is BANGING and the drinks are DIVINE. Honestly, we know we were just ever so slightly ahead of the curve with Houston Hall because this should be the new go-to wedding venue in Manhattan. Book it today!!
Houston Hall is an absolute dream venue. If you are looking for a unique and perfect wedding venue, look no further. Jorie Cohen, the current coordinator, was an absolute breeze to work with. She responded to any and all emails quickly and was flexible with our preparations. I was worried about not using a wedding planner but with Jorie’s help we didn’t need one. I honestly can’t say enough good things about Houston Hall. From the food to the ambiance, our guests raved and we couldn’t be happier. Absolutely perfect! Thank you so much Houston Hall for the best night of our lives!
We are still in awe of our wedding reception at Houston Hall - we truly couldn’t say enough good things about having your wedding here, but will try to keep this short and sweet!
1. HH’s team from the get-go was easy to communicate with and really professional. They were available for a tour of the space quickly, provided us with straightforward pricing and meal options, and we were able book our wedding date seamlessly!
2. When their former event planner left for a new job, their new event lead Mitchell G. stepped in and immediately took an interest in making sure our wedding went wonderfully! He is amazing - and will make sure to be available for any needs. We did a drop-off with all our decor 3 days before the wedding, and he made it possible for us to do so and store everything there without a problem.
3. Decor and vendor wise, everything went off without a hitch with arrivals. We used a few of the vendors they suggested and the space looked awesome! Go for the strung bistro lights, and their rec of Vision Event Co if you need a planner or coordinator ;)
4. The vibe at Houston Hall is nonstop fun, and it can easily be dressed up to be more formal than a “beer hall” setting if you want! We brought in chairs, lights, candles, some floral arrangements and some vibrant colored table runners for a rustic summer cocktail party vibe. We can’t tell you how many guests came up to us and said “this is SO cool” or “this is SO unique and fun!”
5. The team was incredibly accommodating - from being flexible on time, to drop offs, to being available. Our bridal party arrived about an hour before cocktail hour and we were able to hang out and do some photos with the space finalized, and they happily handed us champagne. They even packed dinners and dessert in a to go bag to bring back to the hotel after the reception for us to (finally) enjoy since we were rushed at dinner trying to make the rounds!
6. Last, but not least; we looked all over NYC and Brooklyn for venues that were catastrophically expensive, and at the end of the day our wedding was an awesome value for what we paid for.
Thank you for an awesome day, guys!
Like so many of the couples who reviewed, we were looking for a space different from the typical banquet hall. We toured many different venues (including multiple breweries as we love craft beer) and I knew when we saw Houston Hall that it was the one. The setting is absolutely beautiful! Day of our guests couldn't stop commenting about how gorgeous the place was!
Amanda was great to work with. She was very responsive and we never felt out of touch with her. She made the whole process seamless. We just showed up and the place was gorgeous. Everything went smoothly.
The food was amazing. Our friend commented on the importance of an on site kitchen and how at most weddings, you see an appetizer once and then never again but at our wedding the appetizers kept coming around and were delicious. The sliders and the chicken empanadas especially were a big hit. My mom was very worried about the family style meal and that there wouldn't be enough food but it just kept coming. Everyone loved the family style meal! As a vegetarian (my partner is not), I felt like I had so many options and that I could eat as much of what I wanted. Highly recommend the brussel sprouts.
Definitely recommend Houston Hall for anyone looking for a beautiful place for their wedding!
We picked Houston Hall as the venue for our wedding reception only (although there is an option to include the ceremony as well). It was the perfect place to host! Rustic, industrial vibe – exactly what we were looking for. The high ceilings gave it such an openness! The food was amazing and we opted to serve family style so all our guests didn’t have to commit to just one food option. The great thing about this is that food, bar, and seating are included in the price so we didn’t have to worry about those rentals, wait staff, or a caterer. When we added the florals and extra lights, the place really exceeded our expectations. Our guests were impressed by the space! There’s also a little upstairs area where my husband and I sat before we were introduced and also where we put some of our stuff. The brick walls were the perfect background for our photo booth as well!
If you’re looking for a venue for your next event, we highly recommend Houston Hall. Shout out to the event coordinator, Amanda, who was super responsive and helped make the whole process essentially hassle-free! We couldn’t have done it without her!
We were married last night at Houston Hall (both ceremony and reception took place here), and our experience could not have been any more perfect!
Amanda Presa was our "day-of" coordinator for Houston Hall, but she went above and beyond throughout our several months of planning. Amanda was responsive, organized, thoughtful, and patient - all the things a stressed out bride needs!
The execution of our day was flawless, and the staff was plentiful, attentive, and friendly. Every little detail Amanda and I discussed was executed perfectly - I didn't have to tell her twice.
The set up and break down were seamless; everything was perfectly organized for us to pick up the following day, and all of the mementos we wanted to keep from the night were saved for us.
Amanda and her team coordinated seamlessly with all of the vendors, and most importantly, the DJ. Announcements and transitions from the ceremony, to the cocktail hour, to our entrance, to our first dance, to speeches and so on ... were like clockwork.
Our guests RAVED about the food, the drinks, the space, the vibe - everything!
It truly was the most perfect day, and I would recommend Houston Hall to any couple that is looking for a unique, rustic, and inviting space that can perfectly execute the ultimate party!
Houston Hall was the most charming and unique venue! We got married there this October and our celebration was perfect. All of our guests had only good things to say about the food, waitstaff and atmosphere. Due to the bar being the center of the room, it created an atmosphere that allowed all the guests to interact and mingle. Amanda was extremely helpful! When we booked, she was there to answer any questions that we had. The food tasting was fun and delicious. Get the fried chicken!! Houston Hall also has unique things that you can use for decor. For example, our cake was set on top of an old beer crate. Our ceremony felt intimate, even though we had 155 guests, due to the set up. The staff changed the seats in a matter of minutes. There was so much food at the cocktail hour and family style dinner was the way to go. Plus, they encourage a fun-loving reception! They also accommodated us when we wanted to bring in Italian iced for a late night snack. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for something different. I wouldn’t change one thing about our special day!!
My wedding being such an incredible life moment. I must say without any doubt what Houston Hall and the Team there created with my vision for my wedding was extraordinary. The venue was nothing short of breathtaking. I walked into something out of my own wildest dreams. My wedding night was beyond magical. The Team at the venue created and delivered one of the most memorable experiences I have ever had to be a part of . Beyond moved and thankful. It was truly Magical!!!!! Thank you Houston Hall!!!!!!
Houston Hall was the most special place to get married! After our tour of the space and our meeting with Amanda we knew this was where we wanted to get married...we didn't even look anywhere else. Planning a wedding is a lot of work, but Amanda was incredibly helpful throughout the process and answered every question we had. She is super responsive and good at her job---she made the evening run seamlessly.
I loved the space just as it was, but walking in the night of our wedding, I could not believe how gorgeous everything looked- romantic, soft and just beautiful. The brick walls, the sky lights and the farmhouse tables bring so much warmth to the space.
We really wanted our wedding to feel like a big, fun party. Total success! So many people told us how much they enjoyed the food (and drinks!) and the ambiance. The staff was amazing throughout the night. We can't recommend this venue enough!
Amazing, personalized, and attentive service from the venue from our first call through the day of the event. We had our ceremony, reception, and afterparty here (highly recommend doing as much of your events in one location as possible...your guests appreciate it). We had a mix of our own set-up and venue assistance; it seemed like you can do as much or as little as you want. The food was amazing (take advantage of that tasting!), our guests loved the beer and wine, and pretty much every detail was carefully thought out for us by Amanda that by the time we thought to ask, it had already been handled. THREE HUNDRED thumbs up (from all of our guests!)
We decided to have our New York City wedding at Houston Hall, and we couldn't have possibly chosen a better location for our nuptials! The beer hall is the perfect choice for anyone who is open to a somewhat non-traditional celebration, and wants to throw the party of a lifetime! For the record, Amanda is such an incredible day-of coordinator who is EXTREMELY responsive to questions (we would email her and would get a response back within the hour, incredible. This was so so helpful during wedding planning! The nice thing also was that the beer hall price included all of the server staff and food - which was one less thing for us to worry about, not needing to hire a catering company.
We chose to have a brief and casual ceremony at the beer hall, followed immediately by the reception. With a bunch of candles and string lights, the beer hall transformed into the most incredible space I've ever seen! It honestly didn't even need too many flowers because the space is so interesting. Would highly recommend to use Amanda's list of recommended vendors to save yourself work, and because her vendors know the space well. We used Petals and Roots for flowers, and PartyUp for rentals and DJ. The evening turned out so perfect, the food was delicious, and everyone kept asking us how we found the place. I highly recommend Houston Hall as the right choice for your wedding venue in New York City! HH ROCKS!
Houston hall was amazing! I can’t say enough about how perfect our day was. Amanda was great. She made everything easy. From questions about our contract to our chairs showing up hours late. She didn’t let me worry about anything. The food, amazing!! Everyone was talking about how great it was.
I wish I could give Houston Hall 10 stars. My wedding day was absolutely the best day of my life and my husband's life, and we owe an ENORMOUS part of that to Houston Hall. Amanda was OUTSTANDING to work with; she replied to all our emails quickly, had an answer and solution to every question we had, and was calm and smiling throughout the entire day. She kept everything running completely smoothly the day of so we were able to truly enjoy it.
On top of making the planning process easy and fun, Houston Hall was absolutely stunning on our big day, my jaw literally dropped when we walked into the venue. Who knew a fratty bar could turn into such a beautiful place to get married?
Finally, the food was delicious, we received so so many compliments on it. I cannot recommend Houston Hall enough, I truly hope I get to go to another wedding there one day it was so incredible.
My now-husband and I knew we did not want a typical ballroom style wedding and also wanted it to be convenient for our friends and family who mostly live in the NYC area. We had been to Houston Hall on a few occasions and loved the raw space with exposed brick and lighting and all the charm this place has! So, it was a really easy decision when were looking for both a ceremony and reception venue. When we decided to book, Amanda, our events manager for the wedding, walked me through everything from start to finish, and was SO accommodating with absolutely everything. She answered my million questions so promptly and professionally throughout the entire planning process. On the day of, she made sure everything ran smoothly and was super organized with all of the many to dos of the day. The crew at HH (from the bathroom attendants, to the waiters, to the bartenders) were all amazing and my guests had the time of their lives that night. In fact, a month later, and so many of them are still talking about how it was the best wedding ever. Thanks so much to Amanda and her team for an unforgettable night and wedding of my dreams!
Amanda was one of the most helpful wedding vendors we worked with. We had a million questions, and she always responded so quickly and professionally, and was very flexible and accommodating to my demanding needs. I highly recommend Houston Hall, it was a beautiful venue with natural light (from the skylights), and you can really bring life to the space. The food was also INCREDIBLE. Everyone kept talking how much delicious food there was, and no one could stay away from the late night soft pretzel!
Mandy was incredible from start to finish. We had the most magical wedding!
It's been a week since our wedding and we are still on Cloud 9. The entire team at Houston Hall, specifically Amanda ("Mandi") Presa, made our day unforgettable. Mandi was so amazing to work with-- she was incredibly responsive to all of our emails, calls and requests, but also extremely accommodating, caring and kind. Aside from the quality of the entire staff, the venue itself is amazing. We had many guests from out of town that couldn't believe that this space existed in the middle of Manhattan. Furthermore, the open bar was a real treat featuring their entire selection of craft beers, amongst all of the other offerings. If you are even considering Houston Hall as your wedding venue we cannot say enough positive things and encourage you to get in touch with them to answer any of your questions. Most people who live in NYC are familiar with Houston Hall as a happy hour or a lively weekend spot-- the space completely transforms for weddings with the charming physical characteristics showing through.
There is not enough my husband and I could say about both Houston Hall and Lauren Gargano to do them both justice. The hall is everything we could have asked for and Lauren was spectacular to work with. Everything exceeded my expectations and Houston Hall felt like the most magical place walking down the aisle. It was so incredibly beautiful and my family could not stop talking about how incredibly stunning and unique the venue was. Lauren was so great to work with the whole way through and made the day amazing and flawlessly dealt with my husbands crazy groomsmen. Thank you so much!
If you are looking for a warm, intimate wedding venue, without being too conventional- Houston Hall is hands-down the right choice. We got married at HH on 1.15.17 and I would not change one thing. My husband and I are 34 & 39 & have been to plenty of weddings. While they are all beautiful in their own way, we knew we wanted something a little different. Houston Hall delivered on all fronts. The space transforms itself- the exposed brick wall, antique bar, stone entryway, massive arch window- you can't beat the artistic ambiance these elements create! Anyone who has seen wedding photos, immediately asks about the venue. We set up the wall of string lights as the backdrop for our ceremony & hung them over the dance-floor- I highly recommend this! Not all of our guests were able to sit for the ceremony, but the fact that our family & friends 'lined' part of the aisle actually added a unique element to the ceremony. It felt casual, yet really special. Lauren Gargano was our coordinator & I felt like she was a guest by the actual wedding day. She must have responded to 20 emails before we even booked the space. Trust her, let her do her thing, she will get every one of your needs met! She was incredibly honest with us & her opinion was spot-on! She checked in with us & my family multiple times throughout the night to make sure we were happy. We had 150 guests- plenty of room for a dance floor, with a 9 piece band. There were a good number of bartenders and servers- each staff member was super helpful and polite. The food was very important to us and all I'll say is my family keeps asking when we can go back for dinner! Cocktail hour: tuna sashimi tacos, beef sliders, pork sliders, fig & prosciutto flatbread, mini gruyere & sautéed onion grilled cheeses and buffalo wontons. Family Style Dinner: Steak, Cod, Fried Chicken (by far the crowd favorite), Mac-n-cheese (holy incredible) and melt in your mouth Mashed Potatoes. We couldn't be happier with our wedding and are very grateful we got to celebrate at such an incredible venue!
We had our wedding here on 6/4/16 and it was beyond perfect. It was better than we ever expected or pictured. The place is GORGEOUS. Go for the string lights! (they made it so magical). Our coordinators, Lauren and Amanda, were incredibly professional, true experts, and cared so much about our happiness and making sure everything was how we wanted it. Lauren worked with us for months to make our vision come to life and to implement all of our ideas (from the small to the big). Amanda came in the last month to help with final details and was there the day of to make sure everything went perfectly. They made everything super easy; they both responded very quickly by email (and there were lots) and were so accommodating to our needs/questions/requests. We were even able to do a rehearsal the afternoon before. Day of, the girls all got ready in the upstairs suite and it worked perfectly for us. Our photos in the venue couldn't be more beautiful. Our guests have said it was the best wedding they'd ever been to. We had the ceremony and reception here. I was worried it would be awkward, especially the transition, and it was not an issue. We had 175 people and I'd say that was the max I'd want. Perfect to seat and still have enough room to dance (and everyone danced the whole time!) The food was AMAZING. During cocktail hour, so many guests commented on how much/frequent the food was. The main courses were also a huge hit. And Amanda took care of everything the day of, so we didn't have to stress. When our cake almost didn't arrive, she was ready to go out and buy a cake herself so that we'd have something to cut (which I didn't even know happened, because she and my sisters just took care of it, so the bride/groom didn't know/worry while we were doing photos). It was that level of service. I can't recommend this venue highly enough. If you are looking for a non-traditional, yet beautiful, interesting, and fun venue - this is it.
We just had our wedding here this weekend. Lauren Pagano, our on-site coordinator was amazing. She met with us on multiple occasions to make sure everything was exactly what we were looking for before, during and after the wedding. Having managed so many events she helped us think through logistics and planning we hadn't considered. The venue handles the catering, bar and can host the ceremony all in the same space. A large and open area, the building is really versatile, including their VIP room which doubles as a place we could get ready and then would become the kids room for our nieces and nephews. Everyone raved about the food. The highlight was the fried chicken, in case you're looking for suggestions. The staff was attentive to all of our guests and made everyone feel so welcome. They staffed the event really well too. There were always plenty of bartenders, servers and waiters. And when our toasts went way too long, the kitchen was able to still serve our food hot and quickly. Thanks guys! Oh, and they didn't break the bank. I would highly recommend checking them out.
