We had the Piano Quartet from Houston String Music play for our outside Garden Wedding Ceremony. The Music was superb, and they were so pleasant and easy to work with. Their professional Keyboard sounded exactly like a Piano and everything was lovely. Canon in D was absolutely beautiful. They were very easy to work with and they truly made our dreams come true!
We have had various Chamber Ensembles from Houston String Music play for our Company's Open Houses and Holiday Parties. It is always a pleasure to work with Elizabeth and the wonderful Musicians! Truly the "Best-of-the-Best" for all types of Music They are always arrive early, enthusiastic, and attractive in appearances. We highly recommend them. However, please do not take them away from any of our upcoming Special Events!!!

Houston String Music provide us with the finest String Trio which performed not only our Ceremony Music but they provided our guests beautiful prelude music about 30 minutes before our Ceremony as well as postlude music as our guests were leaving this area. Communications were spot on helping us select our music. The Music was superb, and they were surprisingly very affordable.

Our company had our annual Open House in Galveston and had the Harp trio (violin, cello, harp) provide entertainment this year. What a pleasant gathering for all of our esteemed clients. We have had their String Quartets, String Trios, and String Duos play for all of our children’s Garden and Church Wedding Ceremonies, Cocktail Hours, Rehearsal Dinners, and several of our family functions. They are very knowledgeable, gracious, and easy to work with planning out the Music whether it is Classical or Popular Contemporary. And every single Musician is truly extremely talented. Indisputably the most beautiful and marvelous Professional Musicians in all of metro Houston.
The String Quartet from HOUSTON STRING MUSIC played for our outdoor garden Wedding Ceremony and Cocktail in The Woodlands area. Their Prelude Music made our entire Ceremony and Wedding Day exquisite with their lovely Music. They are meticulous in everything, from the playing of the Prelude Music before the Ceremony started through their Cocktail Hour of Music. They have an incredible repertoire and are so easy to work with. They are reasonably priced because they are by far the most sought-after Professional Musicians in all of Houston.
We were very happy with our string duo for our wedding during our outdoor ceremony. We did request special songs too and were able to pay extra for the sheet music to have those songs played. Very beautiful addition to our wedding.

The wonderful String Quartet from HOUSTON STRING MUSIC played for our Wedding Ceremony and Cocktail Hour. All of our favorite specially requested songs were played from classical music to contemporary popular selections. They arrived early to not only to warm-up but to check-in with everyone and they made sure everyone in our Wedding Party knew the cue to start walking down the aisle. Everything was absolutely perfect with their timing and music. And they gracefully transitioned to our Cocktail Hour and continued playing their beautiful music.
Fantastic Musicians and organization with their outstanding Wedding Music Planner to help us select the music for our Ceremony. Everything was outlined and planned with each Processional from the Officiant, Groom and Groom’s Men to the Flower Girls and Ring Bearer. And, they played beautiful Prelude Music while our guests were being seated which really set the ambiance for our entire evening!
We had wonderful Wedding Ceremony Music provided by HOUSTON STRING MUSIC. Everything was perfect from the planning stages through the day-of for our Wedding Ceremony. Easy to work with as they are very experienced with all kinds of Ceremony settings whether inside or outside. From the Prelude Music through the Postlude Music, everything was perfectly performed.

I was super disappointed in this vendor's performance at my wedding ceremony. I sent Elizabeth a VERY DETAILED and specific document outlining EXACTLY when I wanted each song to begin and end and for which individuals during my ceremony. I also filled out the documents that she sent me (which by the way are super outdated and difficult to work with- needs to use PDF instead of Word and make them more modern and user friendly). I didn't find out until I was shown a video from a friend of the wedding processional and my husband (THE GROOM) literally walked down the aisle with NO MUSIC playing from the string trio almost halfway until they finally began playing. The transitions were AWFUl and ill-timed. When we were pronounced husband and wife and after we kissed, we stood at the altar awkwardly for a while because the musicians never began playing until we just ended up walking down the aisle. The price was good- and more affordable than any other string trio/quartet in the area, but clearly this is an example of 'you get what you pay for'. These are moments that I WILL never get back and were ruined by this vendor.

She had great advice for our ceremony music choices and made the whole process very straightforward and easy! The music for our ceremony was absolutely beautiful. I recently had the opportunity to share in an outdoor wedding ceremony where the lovely String Duo from Houston String Music managed to play wonderfully touching music despite the drizzly, damp conditions. Regardless of the pandemonium which ensued, the String Duo kept their professional, courteous composure and continued with their charming music. The person in charge was oblivious to the very expensive, exquisite instruments played by the String Duo and decided that they should not sit and play under the covered gazebo. Instead, they had to sit in a wet, muddy field next to the gazebo. When it started to sprinkle again the String Duo was finally allowed to move to the side of the covered gazebo. Unfortunately, this naïve organizer kept interrupting and stopping the musicians’ playing of the processional music and even made them move on and off the gazebo during the ceremony. Even though they had difficult circumstances, the very accomplished and skillful String Duo were exceptionally first-class.

I am delighted to be a reference and endorse the Musicians from HOUSTON STRING MUSIC as they have played for many of our open houses, receptions, and Wedding Ceremonies for many of our employees and friends. We first heard them play for the US Department of State holiday party held in Houston and have enjoyed hearing them ever since. They are truly one and all fine musicians.
We are pleased to recommend HOUSTON STRING MUSIC as we have had them play for several special events during the past couple of years including our son’s Wedding Ceremony and Cocktail Hour, our daughter’s Wedding Ceremony and Reception, and other dinner parties for friends and family. Every single Musician who has played for us was excellent.
I wanted to say that the review from Rosie and Sumny are not people that attended the wedding and are not friends of the bride, so the information is inaccurate. One musician was miserable from the beginning and although playing on the grass was requested, they were asked to play in the gazebo under cover. The choice to leave the gazebo during the ceremony was theirs as they did not want to be in pictures. Disappointed in the musicianship of transitioning from piece to piece, and the bridal entrance was off tune for the beginning part. Otherwise the playing was adequate. Don't think I would call this company again; although I'm sure they have other good musicians. I have played at weddings myself in chamber groups, so I do know what I am talking about.
A String Duo, Violin & Cello, played for our Wedding Ceremony on Saturday evening, April 3rd. The Musicians were punctual and very professional attending to their setting-up and warming-up. Not only did they have a very professional attitude and appearance they played beautifully for all of our Music from the Prelude to the Postlude. They profusely thanked us for having a Wedding Planner who knew what she was doing as far as showing them where to set-up, giving them cues when to start Processional Music, and not interrupting their playing. Apparently, they had an arduous experience earlier in the day with constant interruptions from another Planner causing them to stop playing and starting over and over. Nevertheless, we highly recommend this String Duo from HOUSTON STRING MUSIC because they were very easy & very pleasant to work with during our planning of the Music.
My friend had an outdoor Wedding Ceremony and a String Duo from HOUSTON STRING MUSIC played very lovely Music for the Prelude, all of the Processionals, Recessional, and Postlude Music. I honestly felt sorry for this String Duo, however, because they were expected to play out in the wet grass when it was sprinkling! The planner finally allowed them to sit in a tiny corner of the covered Gazebo after moving them back and forth. She had incorrectly told them when to start playing and then stopped their playing at all of the wrong times. We felt so sorry for the String Duo being moved around so many times during the Ceremony. Actually, another guest got up and helped them move their equipment! Despite how they were treated, they kept smiling and we enjoyed their Music!
We recently attended an outdoor Wedding at a friend's house where a String Duo from HOUSTON STRING MUSIC performed. We are actually serious Patrons of the Arts and attend many, many Symphony Concerts, etc. and sincerely loved their Music. They did a wonderful job despite how they were treated and were expected to set-up outside even though there was on-and-off rain. No provisions were made for them to play under a covered Gazebo area. Consequently, they had to move back and forth from the Gazebo so many times that I finally got up to help them move their equipment. During the Ceremony they had to stand in the back behind all of the guests and then run back to their instruments & music to play the Recessional. They went beyond the call of duty and the Music was lovely!!!

HOUSTON WEDDING STRING MUSIC played for our Rehearsal Dinner, Ceremony including prelude & postlude Music, and they played for our Cocktail Hour while we were having our professional photos taken. Too many Wedding have the recorded DJ Music which makes all of the Ceremonies sound and look alike. HOUSTON WEDDING STRING MUSIC played their own renditions of all of our favorite songs from John Legend, Beatles, and the Cohen “Halleluiah “song was truly beautiful and was played during our Unity Candle Ceremony. Houston Wedding String Music was very knowledgeable about what to have played and where in the Ceremony. They were extremely easy to work with and had very pleasant personalities. They were very affordable I guess because they are constantly playing around the Houston area for Open Houses, Dinner Parties, & Corporate Banquets besides their Wedding Events. They understand that this is our Special Day and have given us several options such as their String Quartet, String Trio, and even a Harp & Violin, Cello Trio as the keyboardist would not be available. They went far beyond any other group of Musicians would have gone to substitute their keyboardist with another Musician of our choice. We had the Harpist plus Violin and Cello play for our Ceremony on Saturday and the Music was totally awesome. This is truly a remarkable group of Musicians! We highly recommend Houston Wedding & Reception String Music!
Booked Houston String Music 8 months in advance for our wedding. Received a letter 2 months before stating the pianist had broken their hand and would be unable to play for several weeks (not months) along with a check for my initial deposit. No phone call or even email to let me know of what happened. This is 2 months before an April wedding, which is a busy wedding month and now I can not find anyone who is available. Also find it interesting the letter states they will be out for several weeks, not months. Our wedding is not in a few weeks but in 2 months. I understand things happen and that it could take 2 months for the hand to heal but that's not what the letter states. I think it is bad business to handle this the way they did and I am extremely disappointed in the professionalism. It's not the end of the world to have a DJ do the service as well but not what I had envisioned and planned for this day which makes me sad. I just can't believe a courtesy phone call or email could not even be sent. Very disappointed.
We had a String Trio from Houston Wedding & Reception String Music play for our Ceremony in January 2019. Their Music was beautifully played, very professional ending and transition of songs, and everyone loved their postlude Music after the Ceremony. Nobody wanted to leave and go to the reception because the String players were still playing.
The group was lively, fun, and great entertainers with an incredible repertoire.
They were very reasonably priced and had MANY options for payments and payment plans including 'quick pay', checks, money orders, bank checks, paypal, and we could even wait to pay the balance on the day of our Wedding!!!
Overall, very easy to work with, very knowledgeable, and were truly great professional musicians!
I hired a string trio for my wedding ceremony based on price and reviews. They did not disappoint! Music was beautifully played. Transitions/songs ending were a little rough but overall sounded great. They were quite responsive during the planning process, and they have an extensive repertoire. The only mildly strange thing is they require the balance of their payment to be made in cash at the ceremony.
Houston String Music’s String Quartet played for our outdoor garden Wedding Ceremony and Reception in The Woodlands starting with the Prelude Music which made our entire Ceremony and Day exquisite with their superb Music. They are meticulous in everything they play and have an incredible repertoire. Fantastic String Quartet from Houston String Music played for our Wedding Ceremony and Cocktail Hour. Despite being the most popular and busiest String Ensemble in metro Houston, they are extremely easy to work with and they played all of our specially requested music. Very professional, well-dressed, and punctual Musicians, arriving about an hour before our Ceremony. They played Prelude Music as our Guests were being seated, all of our Processionals, Ceremony Music, and even played Postlude Music after the Recessional.
We had a string duo for our ceremony and they did a great job!
