Mandy was our Wedding Fairy Godmother. Let me just start by saying I am a perfectionist . A perfectionist who had a clear vision and sky high expectations for our wedding . In the weeks leading up to the wedding I had numerous talks with myself about how I needed to relax my expectations and how no one but me would notice any little things anyway.
I had NOTHING to worry about and it was all because of MANDY, and the team at Hummingbird. I didn’t think it was possible but our wedding EXCEEDED even my high expectations. Blew them away. Both my husband and I agree it was the greatest, most special and most fun night of our lives and a large part of that is owed to Mandy.
We interviewed a few wedding planners , but from the moment we spoke with Mandy we knew she was the right person for us. She understood the vision from our first planning meeting. She handled our expedited timeline, of less than six months from hiring to wedding date, with professional grace and efficiency. Her project management skills are unparalleled, she always kept us on track on our timeline. Always asking the right questions to figure out what we really wanted. She’s incredibly organized and on top of everything. She is a true pleasure to work with.
After all her years in the industry she knows everyone! She put together a dream team of vendors ( after giving us many options to choose from and explaining the pros and cons of everything) . This woman is a total boss. During the tasting and the rehearsal, she corralled our sometimes spirited group and made sure everyone stayed on task and set us up for success on the Wedding Day. Our parents loved her and couldn’t stop singing her praises.
On the wedding day she was on top of everything and made sure we were on time the whole day. She even found a matching tuxedo jacket when one of the groomsmen didn’t have one. She is a coordinating, logistical wizard organizing all the various vendors so that everything went off without a hitch on the wedding day. It was amazing with all the moving parts there was not one slip-up, but it was a truly perfect day. We are so grateful that we had Mandy to lead us on this journey to greatest day of our lives. Thank you Mandy for everything!
Mandy is the absolute best wedding planner ever. She is so on top of things and fun to work with. She really gets to know you and your partner to make the most unique wedding possible.
She is so creative and brings all of her knowledge in to make a phenomenal wedding. When speaking with all of our vendors, they constantly raved about how amazing she is- that she was very on top of everything, gave them all of the information they needed, and worked well with them. She also has such an extensive fund of knowledge since being in the wedding industry- she knows when things need to be done and has many recommendations for vendors to use for each aspect. She also came to all of the meetings and made sure that we asked the important questions when choosing vendors. She has a timeline to follow and great online tools to help with all aspects of the wedding.
She is incredibly responsive- i could text her at any time and email her and she always got back to me right away. She is also just SO FUN!!! She makes planning a wedding exciting and fun, even amongst all of the stress of it.
On wedding day, she was calm and remained very on top of things- she and her team had anything we needed at all points, including safety pins for last minute bridesmaids dress alterations and bandaids when I cut my arm!
She helped me to make all of my wedding dreams come true!!! We had the most perfect wedding and so much of that is owed to Mandy. Everything went perfectly, including our epic arrival by boat!! I owe so much to Mandy and if you want an EPIC wedding, go with Hummingbird Bridal & Events!!

Mandy and her team are absolutely the best in the business, and I am so grateful that we were fortunate enough to have Mandy plan our wedding. On top of being one of the nicest people you'll ever meet, Mandy is the utmost professional, the wedding therapist I didn't know I'd need, exceptionally innovative and creative, honest and transparent, and a perfectionist when it comes to the details. I loved the planning process, but I had a really hard time articulating vague ideas into specific wishes. Mandy brought everything to life in the most beautiful way. Her personal relationships with the best vendors ensured that our vendor team was outstanding. We simply could not have asked for a more perfect and beautiful day. It was important to me that our guest experience was personalized and thoughtful, and Mandy prioritized this from the outset. It came to life in the very best of ways, and our guests are still reliving every detail even one month later! Our wedding day was totally stress free, because every single detail had been attended to and was being overseen by Mandy. I could not have imagined being more relaxed on my wedding day! We will forever hold our wedding day, our garden party, as the best day in our lives to date. If you have the chance to work with Mandy in planning your wedding or event, take every advantage of it! It'll turn out to be the best decision ever.
Mandy worked with my now-husband and I on design for our wedding held this past year, and from start to finish she was incredible. Mandy took our initial vision and vibe for the day and built upon it to create something perfectly us. She was easy to work with and has such an eye for design!
I also want to acknowledge how much she went above and beyond for us. Even though we were design clients, she helped with a couple of additional planning details before and during the day that made everything run more smoothly. If you're thinking of hiring Mandy for your wedding or event--don't hesitate!
Mandy and the rest of the Hummingbird Team are the best!! From the very start, she was a joy to work with. Although I knew how I wanted to feel on my wedding day (at peace, joyful, surrounded by people who I loved), I didn’t know how to make that happen on my own – the number of decisions that I had to make were overwhelming, and I wasn’t sure how to create a clear vision for the day. Enter Mandy. From the beginning, she excelled at taking my (often) vague ideas and translating them to a clear and exquisite vision that beautifully reflected both my husband and I. Every detail of the day captured us as a couple – I truly believe that our guests were given a beautiful glimpse of who we are and the love that we have for one another, and much of that is credited to Mandy’s exceptional skill at planning a perfect day. Her recommendations were always spot-on, and she consistently ensured that every choice made connected to my husband and I’s specific character and taste. The vendors she recommended were fantastic to work with, and on the day of the wedding I felt like there was not a single thing for me to worry about. Mandy and her team took care of all of it. At one point, my mom said “I must be the most relaxed mother of the bride in all of history!” Everything was perfect, and it would not have been possible without Mandy’s exceptional service.
Hiring Mandy was without a doubt the best decision we could have made for my daughter's wedding . First of all, she was always available by phone for any questions we had. From the moment we met her, we felt like she was a close friend..so friendly and always smiling. Once she was in place, everything was so simple. Her recommendations for vendors were all outstanding. Her attention to detail was incredible. There was absolutely nothing she didn't think of and the wedding was fabulous! Use Hummingbird Bridal and Event Planning...you will not be disappointed.
Hiring Mandy was the greatest wedding planning decision my husband and I made.
Mandy was thoughtful, conscious of our budget, and from day 1 she understood the exact vision we had for our day.
From check-in calls to planning sessions over beers, she was an incredible asset to have and made wedding planning easier than I ever could have imagined.

I don’t even know where to start in describing Mandy’s awesomeness! So I’m a bride and a wedding vendor; I have worked with so many planners in my career it’s difficult to keep count… what I can tell you is that Mandy stands out and trumps them all! As a vendor, working with her prior to the date is a dream. She makes life so easy with her organizational prowess, clear as day spreadsheets, and up to date reminders. She’s not someone who just recommends a vendor and passes the responsibilities off, she is involved in every email, every detail, every step of the way so everyone is on the same page at all times. As a vendor I can’t tell you how important this is!!
On the day of, I’ve never seen someone more calm, cool, & collected (cliché I know but SO true!!!). We have had disasters with weather, and unexpected inevitables, but she is on top of everything with a smile on her face so that vendors aren’t stressing out (more than they need to) and the couple and their guests never know anything ever went wrong. As a bride, this is all one can ask for! Even Mandy’s assistants are always fabulous and none of them have any issues getting their hands dirty if they need to.
I cried a little bit when I found out Mandy was unavailable to fly to Texas to plan my wedding, but I will continue to refer her to anyone who will ask and work with her until my final day as a vendor. Yay Team Mandy!!!
As a makeup artist and beauty services company owner, I frequently communicate with wedding planners. The goal is to coordinate the day-of schedule with them and work together on booking trials, adjusting timing and answering questions for the bride. I think most couples want a wedding planner who is organized. They want someone who has a sense of urgency and knows how to prioritize. Yet these are the areas in which many of the planners I have worked are weak. It’s always baffled me because an unorganized, procrastinating person is the opposite of what most couples look for in a wedding planner. But then there is Mandy. That rare unicorn of the wedding planning industry. When Mandy checks my company’s availability for a bride, she gives me all of the information I need. She gets back to me quickly, she follows up and she is not the type of planner who emails me 12 hours before a wedding to ask for my timeline for the first time. She relays information to the bride and coordinates everything so that the weddings we do together go smoothly. All of Mandy’s clients who I have worked with absolutely love her, which comes as no surprise. Mandy is professional, efficient, creative, easy to work with and fun. If you book her for your wedding, you’re going to want to be friends with her not just because she made your day run smoother but because of her personality, sense of humor and obvious love for what she does. I will continue to send brides to Mandy because I know without a doubt that they are in good hands.
Hiring Mandy on as my wedding planner was legitimately the worst, most costly decision I have made in my entire life. The actual day of my wedding there were various issues that went wrong. Mandy didn't memorize the items of my menu, which resulted in food being wrongly served at different parts of the night and also one of my two specialty cocktails not being made at all initially. At the end of the night, none of my to-go food was packaged as was previously requested. My $600 wedding cake was thrown into the fridge and my kitchen was left a mess. While this is more so the fault of the catering company, I certainly feel there was a lack of supervision with Mandy as my event coordinator. Gigantic, open bags of trash were left scattered across my property (in the middle of the woods where animals could have easily torn things apart). This is just a few of the many issues we encountered.
Regarding my budget- what was most frustrating is that all along the way I sent constant reminders: "as long as it's within my budget" and "my budget should be okay with this, correct?" Not once did Mandy indicate 1) I would go over my budget at all 2) how much I would go over. Even when I spoke with Mandy after the wedding and confronted her about the budget overage, she continued to claim that every decision was "in budget". The week leading up to the wedding I was slammed with invoice after invoice. At this point it was already too late to make any sort of changes.
Mandy sent me an email the night before my wedding telling me there was an extra $250 charge from my catering company for ice since it will be a hot day and an extra fryer. At this point my wedding menu has been finalized for over a month now and, further, it is expected to be 80 degrees on my wedding day (a very pleasant day for July). Why am I receiving a charge like this less than 24 hours before my wedding? I told her I did not agree with the charge. The next day, Mandy approached my mom with a $100 receipt for ice and told her it needed to be paid. Extremely frustrating.
Altogether, at the end of this whole experience, what I regret the most was how much I trusted Mandy. I trusted her with years of saved money and with the most special day of my young adult life. After reading the positive reviews I assured myself, "it looks like she's great at what she does! Other people mentioned having a budget very similar to mine. Surely I will not be some random fluke that ends up having a negative experience." But I was. And in a very major way. Mandy did not consider my budget at all evidenced by the $10K I went over (in an email she claimed I went over by a little more than only $8K..that is not the case as I am the one reviewing and paying my CC bill). Mandy only cares about working with her pool of vendors and not about her client's budget. In fact, when I brought up to Mandy that I was considering working with a family friend's florist company, Mandy replied about her florist: "I will note that Julie's pricing is the most reasonable of the florists that I work with (in terms of highest quality and lowest cost.)" I ended up choosing my family friend and my flowers were STUNNING and over $1,000 less than what Mandy's florist quoted me at.
Mandy did not branch out to find vendors that were in my budget and her lack of oversight the day of my wedding resulted in deep regret hiring her. Take your $6,000 to someone that actually cares about their clients!
My husband and I hired Mandy from the recommendation of our friends who had also used her, and we could not have been more lucky! When we first thought about a wedding planner we thought we could never afford one, but why not reach out to Mandy and see what happens. We had reached out to other wedding planners and based on our budget they instantly turned us away, but Mandy was different. She worked with us and we were able to hire her and have our dream wedding!
We started planning our wedding, over 2 years before the actual date. So that meant that Mandy was going to be working with us for quite some time. Because we had so much time and a wonderful panner we were really able to plan every single detail exactly how we wanted. She connected us with the perfect vendors, and gave us inspiration when we were stuck. Meeting with her was always fun and never stressful.
When the big day came she knew us so well, she was able to calm our nerves and make sure we were both ready for the day! Her timing schedule for that day was perfect, I never felt like we were short on time. She was also so important in helping us manage our family dynamics and our large wedding party. The day went off seamlessly, if we could do it all over again we would!
