We hit a rough start in communication with this hotel when it came time for our guests to book for our wedding-- but Theresa and Chanelle stepped in and saved the day! They went above and beyond to rectify the situation. The even went out of their way to give us a personal wedding gift. Andres also helped accommodate our reservations at Marker 10 and at the lounge bar with our entire wedding party. The view from this hotel is breathtaking, and the location is perfectly central to all best parts of Austin. We'd be happy to stay here again. (Also, note that it is pet friendly, with a fee.)
My husband and I got married at the Hyatt Regency Austin in June 2016, and it was fantastic! We had a large, 4-day Indian wedding for approximately 350 guests; each event was custom designed in the Texas, Foothills & Zilker Ballrooms and were executed perfectly by the staff of the Hyatt Regency Austin. (BTW, we loved the Zilker Ballroom! It was a beautiful setting for our Reception & ceremony) We were even surprised with a champagne welcome bag pick-up for our guests on the day of their check in! It was truly a memorable experience. Moreover, the location of the Hyatt cannot be beat - our guests raved about the ease of getting to various parts of Austin and enjoyed all of the activities both the hotel and city had to offer. We were thrilled to find the Hyatt Regency and recommend the hotel and their event staff to help plan any future wedding! Thank you again!
We had the BEST experience with the Hyatt team! Our wedding day went off without a hitch thanks to the incredible service we received from the Hyatt! Allison was so extremely helpful in planning the day - she is beyond sweet and so professional, which made the planning process stress-free. And the entire Hyatt team gave the best service we could have hoped for throughout the entire weekend - helping our guests get checked in, setting up the beautiful cocktail hour and reception, catering an AMAZING meal and drinks, and a beautiful brunch the following morning. Each aspect of our event was executed with such care, and it was noticed not only by us, but by all our guests. They're still raving about their experience! I'd highly recommend having your wedding here! Having so many parts of our wedding under one roof (venue, caterer, hotel, rentals) made the process so easy and way less overwhelming than it might have otherwise been. And not to mention, many of our guests were coming from out of town (and out of state!). The Hyatt team knew this and made sure everyone knew where to go and what to do during their stay in Austin. I honestly don't think I could have had a better experience elsewhere!
Wow! I can not begin to thank the staff at the Hyatt enough for all they did to make my wedding absolutely perfect. From day 1, Brandi was always available to answer every question I had, no matter how busy she was with the many many other events she was planning around the hotel. But the amazing customer service didn't stop there. From the bartenders, to the waiters, even to the waiter following my husband and I all night making sure our champagne flutes were never below 50% full, the service was impeccable. It also takes a ton of stress off of the bride (especially one working 50+ hours a week) that the hotel handles all of the alcohol arrangements, food preparation, cake making and even a large majority of the room set up. (I even asked them to hang little "thank you" tags on every fork at every place setting and they had absolutely no issue with that.) The only things I had to handle myself were the flowers, photographer and DJ. HOW MUCH EASIER CAN THAT GET. And on top of all of that, the venue is absolutely beautiful and made for some gorgeous wedding portraits. I am so thankful for the wonderful staff and wonderful experience I had with the Hyatt. My wedding turned out to be everything I could have hoped for and more. Do yourself a favor and have your wedding at the Hyatt Regency Austin. You won't regret it.
The staff at the Hyatt Regency of Austin were incredibly efficient and supportive when planning my daughter's summer wedding. We booked a room for the rehearsal dinner, and they created a custom menu for us bringing delicious Tex-Mex for the guests. The small touches from encouraging notes to refreshments sent to our rooms for me as well as the bride and groom provided by Brandi and Klohe made the stay special and memorable. The rooms were pretty and comfortable with amazing views. As mother of the bride, I hosted the bridal party for pre-wedding preparations and the room fit us perfectly. They went above and beyond to met needs and requests... Highly recommend!
The Hyatt Regency in Austin was the first venue that we went to when looking for a wedding space. We are so glad that we were able to have our wedding and reception there! The views from the Foothills ballroom on the 17th floor were amazing! We did the rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception all on the same floor relieving us off the stress from having to coordinate multiple spaces. The staff was very attentive to our guests all night and we were really treated like royalty. And the event coordinator was superb! Brandi helped us through every step in the process from start to finish and made us feel like the center of the universe. She called to check in, coordinated with our vendors for us, helped us work through our budget and made sure that everything we envisioned for our big day was able to happen. The gifts we received from the Hyatt after our wedding were completely unexpected and perfect! If we could do it all over again we wouldn't have looked at any other venue. If you're looking for a venue in Austin to host your dream wedding, this is it.
I would like to take this time to thank you for your assistance regarding my wedding on September 27, 2015. We were able to get all of our family and friends seated outside along with all of the wedding party, the center table, electrical setup along with the photographer. Subsequently when we went upstairs, after the wedding pictures, and saw the setup locations for the gift table, the area that allowed all of the guests to see and know where they would be seated as well as the tables where all of the wonderful cuisine would be, I was so happy. Then to walk into the room and saw where family and guests would be seated along with my cake that really set the tone for me for the rest of my wonderful day. It was all so elegant. I would just like to commend you and everyone that assisted to make my day a wonderful day. It was just a great completion for me. It was a wonderful day for us all.
We flew in from Albuquerque, NM, to have our wedding in Austin, TX. We had a traditional desi wedding that turned out to be much more magnificent than we had imagined. Everyone who attended our wedding commended us on the decorations, the arrangement for food, the dance floor, the stage set up and the service provided by Hyatt's personnel.
Brandi Bailey helped us coordinate our wedding from the Hyatt Regency. Despite us being from out of town, she took care of a lot of the details that worry brides and grooms. We did not hire a wedding planner for our wedding, yet things worked out perfectly.
We initially had talked to Brandi about a much smaller venue and she upgraded us without charge, to a bigger hall for the event. We eventually had our event at the Texas ballroom, which was just as gorgeous as their newer Zilker ballroom. Brandi assisted us with providing guests parking as well as coming up with a block of rooms that we could reserve for the wedding. We had four outside vendors involved with our wedding and Brandi helped us coordinate with all of the vendors perfectly. The Hyatt Regency also let us have our photo shoot in and around the hotel; there are multiple spots that our photographers found to be picturesque.
We were also offered a complementary room with champagne and wine. My family wanted to set up our room with rose petals and candles prior to the check in time; Brandi made this happen as well.
I would highly recommend the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Austin, TX as a venue for your wedding.
My husband and I had our wedding in the new edition of the Hyatt Regency, the Zilker Ballroom. Growing up in Austin, I have always love the Hyatt Regency Austin. My parents used to take us there to eat at the restaurant when I was younger. I always knew I wanted my wedding reception there. So my husband being the wonderful man he is said, "of course!" We got married Labor Day weekend and from the moment we started planning to the day of the wedding everything was just wonderful! Brandi Bailey really stayed on top of things and was great to work with. In fact their whole team was so sweet and helpful. If you're wanting to make your dream wedding a reality, the team at the Hyatt Regency Austin have the capability to make that happen, as they did for us! They even created our wedding cake and it wasn't just beautiful but delicious too!
If you are looking for a wedding venue, it is time to stop! The Hyatt Regency downtown is the BEST! We had our wedding and reception there on Labor Day weekend and it was perfect. We were expecting some sort of issues to pop up, but they did not. The only minor issues were on our side and Brandi Bailey, our Hyatt coordinator, even fixed our problem (we forgot to print our our vows and she did it for us)! From the first call I had to the Hyatt to set up a viewing of the Foothills Ballroom, I spoke with Justin Baugh, we felt so welcomed and at ease. We were a groom/groom wedding and a little apprehensive about going outside the box and having a big old fashion style wedding, but Brandi and Justin made it happen!! We had 130 people in the Foothills overlooking downtown. We had daytime pictures in front of our beautiful city, the bats flew at dusk and all our guests watched from the windows, then ended with with night fall and great pictures in front of the city lights. It is the BEST view of Austin! The food, cake, and service was impeccable! The wedding party and guests felt very pampered! Thanks, thanks, and many more thanks to Brandi, Justin, and the entire Hyatt staff for making our day awesome!
From the day we considered Hyatt properties, I have to say that we were treated with the utmost professionalism and respect. When my mom and I first decided to take a look at Hyatt Regency (unannounced because we happened to be in the area at the time), the employees were extremely helpful and even gave us an unofficial tour. I thought it was going to hard planning a wedding from out-of-city but the staff at Hyatt Regency made it a breeze. I was slightly worried when our coordinator was relocated and was informed that I’ll be working with a new person but Brandi, the new coordinator, went above and beyond our expectations. Her attention to details and bubbly personality put me and my wedding coordinator at ease. The appetizers and dinner was so great! They truly had the comfort of our guests as priority. They even had slippers and toiletry items ready for the guests in the restrooms without me having to ask for it! I have to say that with the help of Brandi, Liz and the entire staff at Hyatt Regency, we had the wedding of our dreams.
Look no further. Seriously, stop your search and reserve your wedding with The Hyatt Regency TODAY. Besides the fact that the venue itself is the most beautiful out there (a few options of beauty depending on your guest count), the coordinator and staff make it that much more perfect. I was very unlucky to have a not so great Maid of Honor and a much lazier bridal party... so when I approached the Hyatt Staff with some crazy ideas and pleading with help, they embraced it and helped instead of turning their head. I was soooo blessed to work with Brandi Bailey event manager and Justin her assistant. They UNDERSTAND you as the bride, they UNDERSTAND your hubby as the groom, they get the anxiety, stress, nerves, excitement and vision you have on your wedding day... and they do EVERYTHING in their power to make that day the most special day EVER. I want to have a second wedding with them just because of how smooth and amazing everything went. Isn't that insane!?!?!? Most women are done with weddings and I want to have more!!! That is what this venue does... make you want to have more weddings. Without Brandi and Justin, I don't think my reception would have been as nearly as amazing as it was. Other vendors disappointed (extremely) like my photographer, florists, and Make Up and hair person, but Hyatt Regency pulled through for me. Thank you Hyatt for giving me my dream wedding and making me forget about the other disappointments that day. Had I been at a different venue... I'm not sure my feelings would be the same. RESERVE WITH HYATT REGENCY NOW.
Had an amazing time... The best wedding imagined!
Working with Stephanie Dulimba and Elizabeth Cohn was the best part about having our wedding reception at the Hyatt. We were relatively picky customers, and they made sure every last detail was addressed, prepped, and executed. On our wedding day, the reception was the least of our worries. We went into it with high confidence instilled by the quality of service offered by Stephanie and Elizabeth and ended the evening with big smiles on our faces (not only because we just got married).
The Foothills Ballroom on the top floor is a long rectangular room, and windows fill one entire side of the room for a spectacular view of downtown Austin’s skyline and Town Lake, especially at sunset and at night. We chose to use the adjacent ballroom for our cocktail hour and for random stuff like party favors and guest book signing.
The catering menu is very extensive, and it was difficult but fun narrowing down our menu. The chef also helped us create a Chinese-German fusion hors d'oeuvre! The Hyatt made our beautiful cake and worked seamlessly with our florist to match the cake decorations to the table centerpieces. And even with a nice riesling for our white wine and a delicious sangria for our red, the price per person was reasonable compared with other venues. Many of our guests told us in the months following our wedding that the food was so delicious and filling, and we couldn’t agree more. On that note, Stephanie and Elizabeth worked closely with us to schedule the evening and made sure that there was enough time for us to enjoy the food, too.
Overall, we loved having our wedding at the Hyatt, and our guests seemed to have a very enjoyable experience as well.
My husband and I got married in the Foothills ballroom on the 17th floor of the Hyatt Regency Austin 2 weeks ago. We could not have asked for a better venue for our big day!!
We took our time with researching venues, and the Hyatt was by far the best quality and best value for the money. The food was absolutely delicious, the wait staff was excellent & professional, the hotel staff was a class act and the views were breathtaking. EVERYONE had a phenomenal time, and we still have guests telling us it was the best wedding they've ever been to. To see the city in all its glory as we dined was very cool. We worked with Elizabeth during our entire wedding process and she was AWESOME! So patient and sweet. She made everything so easy for us on our big day, calling me to make sure I was taken care of and stress free.
We were treated so well from beginning to end. They spoiled us with so many gifts and treats during our stay for the wedding weekend. I was completely speechless with the level of service. They made us feel like royalty!
Another great thing about the Hyatt Regency Austin is the location. You can see all of downtown and the lake at the same time. From our room and the Foothills ballroom, you have the luxury views of downtown with the privacy of your own floor. It feels a little more private and calm since you are across the bridge. It was a magical experience and we will recommend the Hyatt to all our friends and family.
My husband and I had our wedding reception at The Hyatt Regency in June of 2014. The food was delicious and the room was absolutely beautiful. Staff were on site to make sure our night was perfect. Everything went smoothly and all guest had a great time. The view of downtown austin and Lady Bird Lake was the cherry on top!
We had our wedding in the foothills ballroom. Everything turned out beautifully and the food was amazing. The staff was very attentive and pretty much at our beck n call. Most requests or issues were handled in a quick and professional manner. They even had slippers in the lady's restroom for the guests and we hadn't even asked for that (awesome!!). They provided us with a suite for the day/night before and of the wedding it was very nice with a beautiful view. We only had a few complaints from the whole event the first was since the guest had all received their dinners ahead of schedule and were eating I wanted to go ahead on with the reception timeline (cake cutting & first dances) the banquet manager apparently has to approve everything even when I (the bride) was telling the DJ to move on to the next item on the agenda he had to seek our the banquet manager for approval to move forward. The other problem I had that I found out about after the fact was that one of the waiters kept bothering a table of guests who were last to get their food asking if they were done so he could take their plates and then when they had gotten cake and went to the restroom they came back to find that their cake had been taken away before they were able to eat it. Mackenzie Crace who took over the planning of my wedding due to the person who normally does it having to be out of work for an extended period of time for medical reasons did an AMAZING job. She was personable and friendly through the entire process. The food tasting they provided for us was over the top I never expected it to be that way. Overall our wedding was a dream come true!
The most amazing experience!!! The service was outstanding! The food was amazing…people that attended my wedding still talk about how great the food was! The day of coordinator …took care of everything and I had not a worry….the room we had was awesome…lots of space…everyting I asked for they seemed to be able to make happen. My family and friends could not stop talking about how good the Hyatt was! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Hyatt…They definitely made me feel special ! I could not have asked for anything more…I know it seems to good to be true but….they really made the experience of getting married and having a reception that much better! I felt like it was easy…they took care of everything! They accomodated all our requests! Its been 11 months and it still feels like yesterday…such a fabulous time !!! Thank you Hyatt Regency Austin for making my wedding the best it could ever have been!!!!!
The Hyatt was great! My wedding was was in March at the Hyatt in both Foothills Ballrooms. It was great because we had the ceremony in one room then immediately after the ceremony, guests could enter the larger ballroom on the same floor to mingle and get the party started while my husband and I took a short break before making our entrance as Mr and Mrs. Very convenient for our guests!
The food and cake provided by Hyatt was amazing! We chose a plated option. Salmon, braised beef or vegetarian stir fry. Everyone loved the dinner and everything went flawlessly.
The Hyatt Event Coordinator, Elizabeth Cohen, was a blessing! She was there the entire time and made sure the wedding went off without a hitch and she also took the time to check in on me to make sure I was happy and had everything I needed. Elizabeth Cohen's assistance in planning and executing our wedding was priceless. I appreciated how involved, organized and professional she was during the entire process. Thanks Elizabeth Cohen!
I highly recommend the Hyatt Regency Downtown Austin! The view is spectacular and there are many options for beautiful photos (elevator photos, outside in the garden and the view is amazing!). I highly suggest considering The Hyatt Downtown for any bride that wants to be able to enjoy her big day and let the professionals take care of everything.
Elizabeth and staff made our day wonderful. We choose the Hyatt because the views from Foothills are amazing and the guaranteed price was within our budget. We booked the ballroom 14 months ahead since our desired Church had a backlog. Elizabeth was flexible with the payment where we were able to deposit a fixed amount per month instead of three big payments. That was very helpful.
Three months before the wedding, we had our tasting appointment and tried eight appetizers, two salads, two entrees, and deserts. We were able to eliminate several appetizers and settle on 3, the salad (a mix of both) and a delicious chicken entree with the cakes set.
A month before the wedding, we had the detailed planning appointment with our day-of coordinator with us. We were able to decide on the last minute details from the table runners, to menu cards, and to the layout.
We checked into the hotel the day before the wedding. The staff was very helpful with the check-in and taking everything up to the room. We had two cars full with stuff for the wedding and the bell staff was able to take everything up to the room without a problem. They even stored a few items in the bell room storage area before we checked in because we were running late to the rehearsal at the Church.
The day of the wedding everything went without a hitch. We were unaware of any problems that happened. We left for the Church and returned from the ceremony and was able to relax in our room. They had set up us up with a room that overlooked the river with the food. While our guests were enjoying cocktail hour, Elizabeth had our food served to us in our room so we could go and talk to our guests as they ate. Fifteen minutes before the room to the reception opened, Elizabeth took us up to the room through the service elevator where we were able to see the setup for the room and see that everything met our expectations.
Everything went off without any problems. Talking with our guests afterwards, they said that the bacon-wrapped shrimps were the best and the duck empanadas took second (but not by that much). Everyone left full.
Thinking back, we could not have pulled it off with Elizabeth, Justin (her assistant), and all of the other people that helped out.
Things to improve on: Let the couple know that the number of dinners being ordered is for the reception and not for the room. (Got charged for the dinners in the rooms, we thought they were included in our count.)
Getting a taxi after the reception. There was a huge backlog and trying to get a taxi to go to do photos at the Tower took longer than expected.
What an amazing experience we had from beginning to end, working with Elizabeth Cohn and the Hyatt Regency of Austin. From planning our table settings and dinner, to beverage options and set up of the rooms, to day of assistance, the Hyatt Regency definitely went above and beyond to make our "big" day a very special one.
Our reception was in the Foothills Ballroom on the top floor of the Hyatt Regency and let me tell you, the view is incredible. After the sun goes down, you and your guests are treated to a beautiful backdrop of the Austin skyline, all lit up. Elizabeth and her team made sure the we and our guests had everything we needed to make our reception a rousing success. I would recommend the Hyatt Regency to anyone looking to have a one of a kind view for their big party as well as excellent service. Our day was made extra special, dancing on top of the world in Austin!
My love for Austin runs deep and when I called and spoke with the Hyatt last May about having my ceremony and reception over looking Lady Bird Lake I knew this would display what this great city is all about. Our catering manager started off being Stephanie and she was great in selling the Hyatt about the fabulous amenities and services they had to offer. We were worried when she got promoted about who would be taking her place but we were very pleased with her replacement and could not have picked anyone better. Elizabeth Cohn stepped in and took charge of the day we were planning, she was very attentive to all of the details, food, timeline, and answered ALL of my questions at any time of the day. (And I will tell you there were ALOT of questions) She didn't mind and was always willing to offer input when I asked and make suggestions when I was unsure. She saw my perfect day through the end, the little surprises from her in my room during my stay was just an added touch. And did I mention the BEAUTIFUL suite for my stay. I was definitely treated like a princess and I felt it. The staff at the Hyatt filled any request I had, personal or for my wedding, with no questions asked and they were welcoming to all of our out of town guests. The Hyatt gave us a very memorable experience and we are very thankful for their team and all of the help. There's alot of moving parts in a wedding but with their help and dedication to us EVERYTHING went as planned (and if it didn't you couldn't tell). A HUGE thank you to the Hyatt and their staff!! Especially Elizabeth!
The staff at the Hyatt Regency Austin, specifically Catering Manager Elizabeth Cohn, truly created the wedding of our dreams. Not only did they do everything we asked down to the smallest request, but they went out of their way to make our families and guests feel special with surprise champagne and treats in our guest rooms and much more. The staff even rushed to the bridal suite three different times when our hair makeup team blew a breaker three different times! :) I highly recommend holding your wedding here.
Planning a wedding long-distance with no wedding coordinator could have turned out to be a nightmare, but thankfully Stephanie, Elizabeth, Rose, and their team did a FANTASTIC job working with my family and me to create a beautiful wedding.
My husband and I picked the Hyatt as our wedding reception location for the following reasons:
1) All inclusive deal for a great price.
Food, chairs, table clothes, china, room setup, room take down, a suite for a couple of nights were all included in our contract for a price LOWER than that of other well regarded wedding locations that only provide room space.
2) The location and view
For a wedding from 100-160 people (or maybe more!), the Foothill's ballroom is a perfect spot. The view is so beautiful at all times of day and night, and the building is in the heart of downtown, close to Rainey, 6th, and South Congress, making it a great location for adventurous out of town guests.
3) Professionalism
While other locations gave us grief for wanting an afternoon reception, the Hyatt was extremely accommodating and reserved the Foothills ballroom for us all afternoon. In the months, weeks, and days leading up to the wedding, all Stephanie, Elizabeth, and Rose were extremely helpful and professional, they provided great guidance, and were easy to get a hold of via email or phone.
On the day of my wedding, we did not have a single hiccup. Everything ran very smoothly, and everyone working for the Hyatt was very polite and helpful. Our friends and family still rave about the food, service, and the view, and we continue to highly recommend this location to any Austin TX couples :)
My husband and I had our wedding reception in Foothills at the Hyatt Regency Austin hotel. We couldn't have been happier with our choice! Everything was spectacular! From the beginning of the planning, to the end of the wedding, the Hyatt staff was there 110%! And the view! Talk about the best view of the Austin skyline! The food was beyond amazing; our guests are still talking about how wonderful and delicious everything was! We highly recommend!
We chose to have our ceremony and reception at the Hyatt Regency Austin and it was wonderful! Stephanie (Catering Manager) was such a delight to work with. She went above and beyond to ensure the wedding was a success. She has significant attention to detail and is very organized. She listened to us and accommodated everything as best as she could. We really appreciated everything that she and her staff did to make the wedding weekend a success. We also utilized the hotel for a room block. Although this was a bit challenging, as we were contracted to pay for any unfilled rooms (well, we had to fill a certain percentage of the contracted block), the guests that did stay at the Hyatt really enjoyed the nice accommodations. The Foothills Ballroom on the 17th floor has an amazing view of Downtown Austin - perfect for a number of different events (not just weddings!). Additionally, the food served at the wedding reception was OUTSTANDING! We strongly recommend the Hyatt, and Stephanie and her team in particular. The hotel is centrally located and is close to the attractions in Downtown Austin as well as the South Congress area. You will not be disappointed if you choose the Hyatt for your wedding or event (rehearsal dinners and day after the wedding brunches would be great here, too!). Thank you to Stephanie and the Hyatt staff for making our wedding weekend so unforgettably amazing!!
If you're looking for a venue that has true Austin character and charm this is your place! My husband and I both grew up in Austin. He is always running town lake and I frequently take my kayak on Lady Bird lake so this place felt like home and what we need. Our ceremony and reception was on the 17th floor, the foothills ballroom. The view is the only decoration you need, it just makes the space. Stephanie Dulimba, catering manager, was amazing. She answered every crazy question I had and helped resolve a lot of "crisis" that came up along the planning process. I couldn't have asked to work with a better person to help me plan my dream wedding. Even a month after the wedding, people are constantly telling me how great the food was and that it literally was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. The Hyatt Regency & Stephanie know what they're doing, people! Another bonus is all of the pictures with Austin's skyline and its the best place to watch any city fireworks. We got married on NYE so all of our guests had front row seats to the celebration. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone getting married in Austin. I am forever thankful for all of the staff at the Hyatt for their help throughout the entire process including the hard work on the actual day of!
WOW, The Hyatt Regency Austin-Foothills Ballroom view is AMAZING. My husband and I still cannot believe how Stepanie and the entire Hyatt staff made our reception such a beautiful and memorable night. First of all, the view from the Foothills Ballroom is SPECTACULAR overlooking Town Lake and downtown Austin. The night lights are BREATHTAKING! The Hyatt's quality of service given was AMAZING, and beyond my expectations. I was pampered and my every need/request was met in seconds! My reception was full of surprises from my family (Mariachi band) that the staff kept well hidden and everything was timed perfectly. The food was cooked to perfection and all my guests had all wonderful things to say about the night! Thanks Stephanie, Mike and the entire staff for making my wedding reception and night the most beautiful moments of my life. Do not wait to book your wedding at the Hyatt Regency Austin!!! :)
I am so glad I chose to have my wedding reception at Hyatt! Everything went perfect..the entire weekend was like no other. For starters, I opted to stay at the hotel the night before the wedding and I was pleasantly surprised when my bridesmaids and I were greeted with a bottle of wine, cheese and crackers! The wedding went on without a hitch! Stephanie Bierlien did an amazing job at planning and executing the wedding just how we had discussed. She kept me in the loop throughout the entire process and was very detail oriented (which I appreciate so much). On the day of the wedding, I did not have to worry about a single thing; everything was taken care of from beginning to end. My guests were impressed with the food presentation and taste as well as the service provided by the wait staff.
I would definitely recommend the Hyatt to anyone wanting an elegant and classy wedding because Hyatt will make sure everything is just that!
Pros:
We chose the Hyatt about a year before our wedding. One reason is because our wedding was in June and it is very hot outside so we opted for an indoor venue so our guests would be comfortable indoors, while keeping it within the downtown area. Stephanie B. (catering manager) was extremely helpful in helping us put our vision together for that night. We were able to chose every detail and have helpful input along the way. We had over 200+ guests at our wedding and everyone enjoyed the food and drinks. The Hyatt staff was very helpful in coordinating schedules with our vendors to make sure everything was where it should be. That night the banquet captain (Mike) was very detailed and available accommodate any requests. Overall, we had a great experience, they made us feel like VIP for the weekend and I think every couple should get that kind of treatment on their wedding day.
Cons:
It would have been great if the Hyatt could have sent us 2 entrees to our room for later. We didn't really a chance to eat because we were greeting the guests. Same goes for the cake, I got to taste the cake for a minute for the photo but then we were not served cake nor was a piece reserved for us to try later. Parking was not included, that was an additional fee per car. Towards the end of the night there were some party crashers (my guess is other hotel guests). They had cake, drinks and even took a centerpiece! When they were caught they just ran up to their hotel room. Maybe the Hyatt should have more security for future large weddings.
I am so glad I chose the Hyatt for my wedding ceremony and reception!
For starters, I knew I wanted a hotel setting since we had so many out of town guests. I narrowed it down to the Hyatt, Driskill and Omni. The Hyatt initially caught my eye because of the amazing view from the 17th floor. We went for our initial tour/consultation where we met Stephanie, All Star Catering manager :) She was amazing, from the start! When we left, we had an appointment at the Omni and decided to cancel beacuse not only did I fall in love with the view at the Hyatt but we knew we were in good hands with Stephanie.
The entire planning process went so smooth! Stephanie was there every step of the way answering my emails and questions quickly. She even recommended vendors she had seen other people use and have sucess with.
Mackenzie was also a very helpful and sweet emlpyee that is in charge of the room reservations. We had so many last minute changes and special requests and she did so well managing all our requests with no hassle.
The day before the wedding they had the room all set up for practice with water and chairs and we went over the events thoroughly which helps stress levels on the day of.
The day of the wedding went so smooth! It couldnt have been better. Stephanie visited my room hours before to give us updates on the status of the room set up and was very comforting!
The ceremony and reception was held in the same room, per my request, and during cocktail hour a crew was in charge of flipping the room. They did a great job in a short amount of time. The bartender was also amazing! She kept up with drink orders like a champ and was very sweet. The wait staff was very professional and were great about topping drinks off.
The view at night from the Foothills Ballroom is just incredible. You cant get a better view of downtown Austin anywhere. It made the atmosphere.
The guests who stayed at the hotel were impressed with the service, rooms and amenities.
With Stephanie as the catering manager, I woulc recommend ANYONE host their wedding at the Hyatt!
The catering team and Stephanie Bierlein did an amazing job. With constant contact, timelines and check off lists the Hyatt did an amazing job at keeping me on track. They did a great job the day of as well. I was so behind schedule but they did a great job making it seem like that was how it was supposed to be.
We had our reception in the Foothills Ballroom on the 17th floor, in the evening. Windows cover one whole wall with a view of downtown Austin. It made for a fantastic vision at night when all the buildings were lit up, and the lights inside were dimmed.
The food was amazing, and the service was very good. The servers replenished drinks and kept the appitizer plates full. We definitely got our fill of food! They were also very efficient in cutting and serving the cake (although we only had 35 guests, so I can't extend the comment to a large wedding).
Our only critique is that the room charge ($3000 minimum) is met by food and beverage only (before tax and service charges), so the venue was quite expensive for a small wedding (but well worth it). There is also no way to access the in-house speakers without paying for the in-house lighting/sound specialists or having a vendor of your own. We had a live string quartet playing, but needed the sound system to play the father/daughter dance song, and they had no way to reduce the cost of their standard use of the sound system ($100 - too much for just two songs!).
Overall, however, we are very pleased that we chose this as our reception site. We were looking for a place where our guests could relax, have an amazing meal, and visit with one another. And that's what we got, the food was amazing, and the view was priceless!
When I came to the Hyatt, I had been burned a little by another hotel that didn't seem that interested in our business. So the Hyatt was a wonderful counterpoint to that experience! Stephanie and her staff are awesome--they think of every detail and are very supportive through the whole process. Our tasting was great (huge amounts of food!), and they worked with us and our suggestions and wish list. The food at the actual reception was of the same high quality. J.R., who served us at the tasting, was very attentive to the groom and I to make sure our drinks were replenished and we had what we needed.
The reception couldn't have gone more smoothly, and we enjoyed some nice treats in our hotel room (which comes with booking your event there) the night before the wedding and on our wedding day. The hotel handled getting all the other vendors in really well.
We were in the Foothills Ballroom on the top floor and the view of downtown and Town Lake was great. The location was convenient to our downtown church. We highly recommend it!
I loved having my wedding at the Hyatt in Austin. Stephanie was wonderful to work with, everyone there was what to help with anything we needed. I recommend the Hyatt to anyone looking for a beautiful and easy going place to get married.
Where to start...the Hyatt and all of their staff are amazing! Our wedding coordinator, Stephanie, was amazing during the whole planning process of our wedding reception. The food was delicious and the atmosphere is beautiful. Everyone there is so helpful and very friendly. I would highly recommend the Hyatt for anyone having a large party, not just for weddings. We had underestimated our guest list, but not to worry, because the Hyatt had it covered and everyone was served a full meal.Just wonderful!
I live in Houston and was needing to find a place to have my reception in Austin. My budget was low considering the amount of people that I had at my wedding. The staff was great from start to finish in making sure that everything that I wanted was perfect. My family and friends stayed at the hotel as well and they comment on how the staff was great the entire weekend.
Stephanie and her team at the Hyatt are truly amazing! Our day went off without a hitch thanks to Stephanie! %-star service, wonderful people, fabulous food... couldn't have been happier with the way it all went!!
We had our wedding reception in the Foothills Ballroom. There was a very nice cocktail reception in the smaller ballroom, with a magnificient view of Lady Bird Lake and downtown Austin. We then moved to the larger ballroom, where all our tables were set up according to plan. The food was excellent, the serving staff was dedicated, and the planning by the Hyatt staff went off without a hitch. It was a wonderful reception, in part, because everything went so smoothly. All of our guests commented on how well everything flowed and was put together. We definitely recommend the Hyatt Regency staff and space for an important event!
