Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa & Marina is a wedding venue located in Cambridge, MD. The location is teeming with picturesque settings with waterfront views and luxurious accents. The modern resort is also home to divine cuisine inspired by the bountiful Maryland area.
In 2002, the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa & Marina opened its doors and boosted jobs and tourism in the Cambridge area. Since then, the downtown has seen a revitalization to its historic roots of 1684 through the renovation of old buildings. The town has become a hotspot for heritage sites and tourism. To add to the excitement, in 2007 the Resort was used for a political conference house. Now, the venue offers tourists a place to stay and a location for couples to host celebrations with quality experiences.
The grand hotel overlooking the marina provides sweeping views of grass fields and boats swaying in the waves. Ceremonies can be held either outside or indoors at one of the multiple locations. The hotel features three main outdoor settings with their own distinct characteristics, The Regatta Pavilion, The Manor Lawn and The Grand Fireplace. The Regatta Pavilion is fashioned with high wood beam ceilings held up by grand white pillars. At the focal point, a chandelier is strung to white curtains radiating across the ceiling. Over at The Manor Lawn, the setting offers a waterfront backdrop to exchange vows in front of while enjoying the open air. Similarly, The Grand Fireplace boasts views of the Choptank River with an additional splendor of tying the knot in front of the warmth of the fire. Alternately, ceremonies can be held indoors in the whimsical Indoor Ceremony room. The space is surrounded by walls of white curtains with a dazzling grey ceiling. For cocktail hours and receptions, the hotel's vast grounds offer numerous locations. Celebrations can be held inside in one of the grand ballrooms, or outside on the Manor Lawn, Breakwater Pavilion and more, there are countless possibilities.
The Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa & Marina’s team of professionals are happy to work with to-be-weds to achieve a wedding they envisioned. Their on-site planners help take care of all wedding needs and assist with selecting reliable vendors to bring dreams to life. The resort provides chairs, tables, as well as linens, and features an in-house catering service with a passionate culinary team. The inspiration for the gourmet dishes are influenced by Maryland's natural resources. The team works to craft vibrant menus featuring healthy and locally sourced ingredients. Their specialty is the traditional Maryland crab feast bursting with ocean flavors, a wonderful final touch to a waterfront occasion.

I cannot say enough good things about the Hyatt regency Cambridge! To start my other wedding venue cancelled on me 2 months prior to my date. The Hyatt assisted us to schedule our wedding for the same date, they quickly assisted us to arrange a walk through of the venue, and tastings. Our wedding day was better than we could have imagined! The resort has so much to offer for weddings including multiple locations for events to occur all with stunning views! We were upgraded to suits and stayed for 2 nights free during our wedding. The events coordinator Sarah Parker was wonderful! We were in touch throughout the entire 2 months and she was always quick to respond. She was on top of things and the day went so smooth. She was very apparent with all changes related to COVID. All of our guest had fun and enjoyed the resort, food was great, and to top it off we got to stay several nights at a Hyatt for free for our honeymoon! I highly recommend the Hyatt of Cambridge!!

We had our wedding at the Hyatt this past May, and I can't speak enough at how amazing it was! We originally worked with Kate who worked with us on a date and made sure we had everything we wanted. Then we worked with Sarah on all of the details leading up to the wedding. All of our questions were answered in a timely manner and when we arrived at the Hyatt a few days leading up to the wedding and the whole weekend they treated us so great, despite there being another wedding that weekend. This venue is beautiful, the food is amazing, and you can't beat getting married on the water! I'm so glad we chose the Hyatt as our venue!

Could not deliver their quoted wedding price! We worked with Kate who was very nice and tried to accommodate us. We loved the venue and wanted to host our 2-day South Asian wedding there. When we asked if there were any available discounts Kate came back to us with a lower quote and we agreed to proceed to contract. She informed us that she could not get the quote approved by her superiors for our peak Sep 25 date (I’m guessing someone else inquired about the date so they wanted to make more money). She said we could shift it to the end of October or end of August for an additional $5k above the quote. We found it very unprofessional that they quoted us a price that they could not commit to and it was unfortunately a waste of time. We booked another venue that was more straightforward with their pricing

We absolutely loved our wedding, it was so perfect and every single person we worked with at the Hyatt was fantastic. Sarah was amazing and helped us through every step of the way from everything to planning checking in, and moving decorations the day of we could not have asked for a better day.

The Hyatt was absolutely perfect for our wedding. Besides it being a beautiful location the food was amazing, the staff was excellent and the service we received to make sure our day went just as we imagined it, was perfect. Having our wedding at the Hyatt made it more than just one day, but the entire weekend was filled with our friends and families being together, the convenience of everything being right there that we needed on the day of, and it couldn't have gone better. Through the entire planning process, they were thorough and responsive, we never felt out of the loop or like things would ever not go as we hoped and planned. Even after having to make a weather call the morning of our wedding to keep they were on top of everything and prepared for anything. Hilary, Kate, the staff, did everything to truly make it our dream wedding, and we will never forget it.

Our wedding at the Hyatt was absolutely beautiful! From the grounds, getting ready areas, ceremony site and ballroom, the Hyatt is a one of a kind venue. The staff who worked our wedding were outstanding!! They made sure we were ALL taken care of throughout the night. They had a smile on their face always and even jumped into our love train dance. At the end of the night, they high fived us and hugged us, they were a true asset to our day and we are grateful for their hard work that day/ evening. Our guests loved being able to stay on site. The Hyatt includes a lot of small options that other venues don’t such as a champagne toast, dessert bar, passed apps and displays. The contract we originally got was extremely outrageous, but we were able to negotiate with Kate Hopkins and came to a package that was very reasonable.
With that being said, in the final 2 months before our wedding I had little confidence in the event coordination. Often times I felt as though we were given the run around, told they would get back to us and never did, which made us nervous getting close to the day of. What confused us more is when we received the final contract (only a few days in advance) it was extremely detailed and included everything we wanted, it was just never communicated back to us which was kind of odd. When we arrived about 24 hrs prior to our wedding, we were approached about drapping to be put up for the wedding the following day and asked if it could be put up for our wedding. I felt this was extremely inappropriate given that our wedding was only the next day and our event should have taken priority as it was occurring first. We are thankful we hired a day of/ month of planner who has great experience with the Hyatt and their event coordinators because she was truly our advocate in ensuring our wishes were executed. Without her, I am confident we would have been pushed around a bit.
We loved our wedding, wouldn’t change a thing, but recommend your own planner.

When you have such a wonderful wedding thanks in part to an amazing wedding coordinator in the Hyatt’s Kate Hopkins, it's hard to sum up your experience in words... and frankly, we don't know where to start. We fell in love with the Hyatt as soon as we stepped into the lobby and saw the gorgeous view overlooking the water. Not only will you want to get married here - you will want to keep coming back for years to come. We wanted a wedding by the water at a dog-friendly location where we and our guests would feel welcome, and the Hyatt literally checked every box. We were already impressed with Kate through the communication we had with her leading up to our visit -- she is responsive, experienced, informative and has a great sense of humor. Meeting her in person solidified that we met the perfect wedding coordinator for us at the perfect location for us. She had a quick, clear answer to all of our questions and made the planning so streamlined and smooth...and fun with laughter. She is family now, and we make it a priority to see her every time we visit the Hyatt, which is at least once a year.
We felt genuinely embraced by Kate and every member of the Hyatt staff. This was especially important for us as a lesbian, interracial couple since we do not always receive positive or equal treatment. Many of our wedding guests are like us (members of the LGBTQ community and/or in interracial relationships), so it was important to us that our venue be an inclusive place where everyone would feel comfortable and free to be themselves. During our planning visits, we also felt welcomed by other hotel guests. When it came time to pick a date, we were worried that the attendees of a large association meeting (for an industry not known for being accepting of people like us) in the ballroom next to ours would not be tolerant. When we asked Kate if we should move our date in order to avoid the association, she could tell that we were legitimately concerned. She went the extra mile to find out more details to ease our fears. Rest assured, there was nothing to worry about, and we even made friends with some of them.
Other features that sealed the deal for us:
- Most venues only offer one bridal suite on-site. As soon as we told Kate that we were both planning to wear dresses, she immediately made arrangements for us to both have a suite the morning of the wedding.
- One-stop shopping -- and Kate making everything happen both before the wedding and as a day-of-coordinator -- was a huge benefit. Knowing that anything related to the venue (food, beverage, guest lodging, shuttle and golf cart transportation for guests, etc.) would be handled by Kate or another member of the Hyatt staff was a major relief. She even helped us work with the chef to have chocolate-covered strawberries assembled into the shape of a croquembouche, the traditional French wedding cake.
- My father-in-laws' dogs were the ring bearers in our wedding, and they were allowed everywhere on the property except the restaurants and pool area.
- The Hyatt’s catering menus offered flexible pricing. We were able to add the items we cared about and remove the things we didn’t.
- The Sago Spa & Salon on site made it easy for the brides and wedding party to get ready the day of the wedding.
- The shopping center across the street made it convenient for our guests to purchase some last-minute and forgotten items after they arrived.

My husband and I originally booked our wedding in Aruba. The Zika virus took a turn for the worse, and I had two pregnant bridesmaids. After visiting the Hyatt, we knew this was where we wanted to get married. Kate and her team were absolutely AMAZING!!! They were extremely accommodating and made sure the planning process was easy! Our wedding day was PERFECT! Thanks to Kate, the whole day was timed perfectly, food was amazing and we had a BLAST! I would definitely recommend getting married at the Hyatt! It felt like a destination wedding without ever getting on a plane!

I've been meaning to write this for a while now. My husband and I got married here last September (2015). We fell in love with the place as soon as we saw it. We worked primarily with Kate in setting everything up, and she was awesome (very competent, responsive, knowledgeable, and friendly). This was a same-sex wedding, and Kate (and everyone at the establishment, for that matter) made us feel very welcome. We ultimately had about 225 people attend, and had the ceremony under the pavilion (we were originally supposed to be on the gazebo on the river but it was too windy - I'm actually very happy we ended up at the pavilion, as it worked out perfectly). It was a perfect evening!

Where to start! We knew that planning a wedding from thousands of miles away was no small task, but as soon as we talked to Molly Taylor on the phone the first time we knew this was the place and we knew she could get everything done exactly how we had envisioned. She and her team were an absolute blast to work with, and things couldn’t have turned out any better. Every interaction was extremely professional and the Hyatt provided quality customer service. Molly truly went above and beyond to ensure that everything was perfect! The food was absolutely amazing, ballroom was decorated perfectly, and our friends and family keep complimenting that we’ve set the bar for future weddings to come. Thank you for seriously the best day ever!!! For anyone looking to get married on the Eastern Shore, this is your venue and she’s your girl! Cheers, Carissa and Robert

We were married on May 21, 2016 and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding! The Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay is an exquisite and exceptional place to have the perfect wedding! We were scheduled to have our ceremony at Breakwater and it rained; or, as I like to believe, my dad was sending lots of tears from Heaven. We were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to have our ceremony at Michener's Library, and it was a beautiful alternative to the outdoor venue. Molly Taylor was our event coordinator and we couldn't have asked for a more amazing person!! Molly and her team made the day so absolutely perfect...a day that we will never forget. She was extremely professional yet so fun and so easy to work with, she was very responsive, she was flexible and patient, and she truly cared. She went above and beyond. She was there throughout the entire process and ensured that her team was exceeding our expectations. She ensured that everything was well organized and ran smoothly. Our guests have given us countless comments on how wonderful the wedding was...everything from the resort to the amazing food to the professional staff to the gorgeous ceremony and reception sites. We will never forget our experience and our special day...the Hyatt exceeded our expectations and we are very appreciative to Molly and her team and everyone else who contributed to making our dream come true! We had our wedding at the Hyatt in Cambridge, MD and were blown away by the overall experience. The venue itself was exactly what we were looking for in terms of food, atmosphere, scenery and overall experience. My husband and I cannot compliment the Hyatt enough! Our wedding was absolutely PERFECT, can't thank all the staff enough that were involved in making our day so special! Our wedding was in late September 2015 – ceremony was supposed to take place in the breakwater pavilion, but it was a bit windy and the water was splashing everywhere. Our AMAZING wedding planner/coordinator, Molly and my husband quickly came up with a backup location to have the ceremony in front of the infinity pool…..it was perfect. Our cocktail hour half inside and half outside of the breakwater ballroom and our reception in the Breakwater ballroom. Everything was SO beautiful! Molly Taylor was awesome! She handled everything with such professionalism, always responded to my million emails right away, and never had to worry about a single thing! I do have to compliment the entire staff at the Hyatt though, every time we went there during the planning process we always felt so welcomed and felt like we were right at home and knew everyone! Our wedding day went so smoothly, and everyone that came couldn't stop complimenting us! We had quite a few guests tell us it was one of the best weddings they've been to, and although I'm sure that is what you're supposed to say to any bride and groom, I truly felt like our wedding was one of a kind and all of our guests has an amazing time! Food was amazing too! My husband and I knew we wanted to get married by the water with a little bit of beach, choosing the Hyatt was definitely one of the best decisions we made - we would HIGHLY recommend you having your wedding here if you want to have the perfect wedding day! To the entire staff at the Hyatt, THANK YOU! -Mr. & Mrs. O’Donnell

We had our wedding at the Hyatt Regency Chespeake Bay in Cambridge MD last weekend. We came from California, so it was always a bit more stressful doing things from distance. Molly, our coordinator, was amazing at alleviating any stress I had and took care of any problems that arose. She even helped get our dresses steamed last minute and sent a seamstress to our room when an wardrobe malfunction occurred. The setting was beautiful! Our guests were talking about how amazing everything was and many stayed extra days to enjoy everything the Hyatt had to offer. There was so much for our guests to do to keep entertained outside of wedding festivities..jet skis, spa and salon, multiple pools, and activities for kids. The salon did amazing jobs on all our services, mani/pedi, hair and makeup on the day of. We really have nothing but amazing things to say about our experience having our wedding at the Hyatt. I would completely recommend this resort to anyone for weddings or just a weekend away to relax and regroup.

My wedding was May 10, 2014. My husband is from Cambridge and I'm from the Caribbean. Since his grandparents were not able to travel we decided to get married locally provided I could find a location as picturesque as my home. After searching high and low the Hyatt was the only the location that met all of our needs. Molly and her assistant Sandra we constantly available for planning and answering any or our questions. My husband is active duty military and deployed forcing us to change our date; the staff was very accommodating. The day of the wedding arrived we had planned on taking pictures outside. It rained but we had a backup plan to take photos in the observatory Raven's view. Everything went smoothly and our pictures were gorgeous.

From the day of our first site visit to the morning after our wedding, we received royal treatment. Our planner, Kate Hopkins, was always on top of things and worked with us to make certain our weekend went well. Her knowledge and wit were priceless and her execution the day of our wedding was flawless. Every Hyatt staff member we interacted with was friendly and helpful.
We married in the Breakwater Pavilion in September 2014. The Pavilion sits in the Choptank River and the view/setting is breathtaking. If you are looking for a water setting for your wedding, you cannot go wrong here. We highly recommend this property to all couples.

We got married in June at the Hyatt and it was absolutely perfect. We had a pretty large wedding with 250 guests and we wanted a place that they wouldn't have to worry about a thing. Everything was there for our guests and many of them made our wedding a mini vacation. We arrived Tuesday and stayed until Monday after the wedding. It was so nice that everything was right there. When we arrived, I handed everything over to the staff (welcome bags, favors, programs, etc) so we could spend a couple days relaxing before the wedding. My husband and the guys spent time golfing while I was at the pool most of the time.
Kate Hopkins was amazing and made sure everything was taken care of. We worked with her for almost 2 years and hopefully wasn't too much of headache for her (if we were, she didn't let us know :) ).
The staff were amazing for us and our guests. Our guests still tell us how much they loved the food. We did our rehearsal on the lawn and dinner by the fire pit, our wedding on the lawn, our cocktail hour half outside/half inside outside the ballrooms, reception in the ballroom, and brunch the next day out in the gazebo.
Everything was just perfect and I would recommend the Hyatt to anyone!

We had our wedding at a local church in Cambridge and the reception at the Hyatt in a portion of their Chesapeake Ballroom. They always say you can do everything you can to prepare for your wedding and to try to make it perfect, but on the day of something will always go wrong. That was actually true for quite a few things on the day of my wedding. The only thing that was perfect was the reception and what the Hyatt took care of. Their staff there is so nice and on the ball and they will take care of everything.

The search for a wedding venue is one of the most important and overwhelming parts of wedding planning. We live in Houston, TX so we were only going to visit venue options once so it was vital we did a lot of research and narrowed it down prior to our visit 15 months before the event. We were lucky enough to be connected with Molly Taylor who was willing to send us information via emails and talk to us over the phone before our visit. When we stepped foot on the Hyatt property we were in love but we didn't know if it would be in our budget. The convenience and professionalism that is a part of the Hyatt package was the perfect pair and sealed our decision for us. We could not have asked for a better coordinator, Molly Taylor, or a better venue overall. The food was amazing (not your typical bland hotel food), the ambiance was perfect and the views outstanding. All of our guests had the time of their lives and complimented everything about the Hyatt numerous times. They were also very open to us as we are a same sex couple and we appreciated that we weren't treated any differently than the next couple. We are looking forward to having more celebrations at this Hyatt in the future as we had the best time of our lives!

I got married this past weekend April 26, 2014 at the Hyatt in Cambridge, MD. It was beautiful, luckily we had perfect weather!! Over the past year of planning, my Wedding Planner, Kate Hopkins (provided by the hyatt) was AMAZING!!!! She was there for me any minute of the day with any questions or concerns I had. I could not have planned the wedding without her! Everything was exactly how I envisioned it, both the ceremony and reception turned out beautiful. We had our ceremony at the grand fire place, and our reception at the eagles nest!! We had a small party of 45, so both spots were ideal for our wedding size!! Our dinner was amazing, the staff was very cooperative with those whom have allergies etc and were very understanding to satisfy everyone's needs. Getting married at the hyatt and having the respectful service they provide and also the experience in general was worth every penny, I have no regrets and would recommend it to anyone! We are very happy with our wedding day and would do it all over again!!!

We had an amazing experience at the Hyatt. Our wedding was on Saturday (we arrived on thursday night), Friday the girls got nails done at the spa and boys went golfing. Saturday the girls had hair and makeup done in our suite before the ceremony, had the ceremony out at breakwater pavilion, had our reception in the Clipper Ballroom. After the festivities were over we took advantage of all the fun things the resort has to offer. Molly did a great job organizing everything and making sure all the details came together as we imagined them (we came from out of town). The food was amazing as well. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and were blown away by the level of service we received. I would recommend the Hyatt to anyone. All our guests couldn't stop saying how amazing the weekend was and how beautiful the hotel and grounds were.

Overall the wedding was wonderful however, one problem i did have was that we had 3 wedding coordinators from the time of booking (about one year before)This made some things get lost in translation. Including my nut allergy, during the rehearsal dinner which we also had at the hotel they forget that my Mother in law had in her contract "Absolutely No Nuts" because I (The bride) am allergic. They forgot. Anyway another issue was the block that we had set aside for our out of town guests. The hotel had a lot of trouble coordinating this and lost some people's reservations and overcharged some people including my husband. They also seemed to have overbooked because one of my guests ended up sleeping on the floor, despite having booked his room months in advance. Also a few people ended up going elsewhere. Which was a little dissapointing.

Absolutely loved this location! Do not be put off by the price at first...everything is inclusive (linens, centerpieces, cutlery, gratuities, etc). We spent a three day weekend here and all of our guests were taken care of wonderfully. We enjoyed all the special touches including strawberries and champagne in our room each day and the complementary tastings. The food is to DIE FOR! Will recommend this location to anyone!

This is a great option if you want guests to come and be on a compound for the weekend. Great golf, swimming, etc. However, Cambridge is a bit removed from the St. Michael's and Oxford areas, and not nearly as quaint. Very impressed with the staff and flexibility of options however.
