Hyatt Regency Coralville Hotel & Conference Center has over 57,000 square feet of event space. The largest single area is the Exhibit Hall, at 30,000 square feet, which allows for gala extravaganzas for up to 2,500 seated or 3,000 standing guests. The Coral Ballroom provides an elegant setting for up to 1,000 people, while the Outdoor Terrace allows a cocktail hour or reception for 300 or more guests looking out over the Iowa River. This place was absolutely amazing for my daughter’s wedding guests! We were there Sat 7/6 and Sun 7/7 and it was a huge weekend for the Hyatt. With two weddings there and a huge convention they were very organized and efficient. We had 10 rooms reserved and they could not have been nicer. The rooms were very comfortable and well appointed. We met for coffee each morning and after our evenings outside on the patio. They were very accommodating and professional. Check in and out was quick, coffee lady very sweet and helpful and even the bellman was helpful. Worked with Tara to reserve the rooms and it was the most enjoyable weekend ever! Highly recommend the Hyatt Regency in Coralville!

We loved Hyatt! Our event coordinator McKayla, was amazing and was so helpful with putting everything together. We had a few hiccups in the beginning but once in contact with McKayla it all worked out. The hotel is beautiful & was perfect for photos. Our expectations on hospitality were far exceeded!
My only complaint was during the event, after the coordinator had left, the banquet staff were not what was expected. They cleared plates during the meal and then didn’t finish clearing them all half way through, during tear down- our personal items were just thrown together and things were missing that we had to find the next morning. The food also changed taste between our menu tasting and the actual event.

This hotel did so much for us. We had an event planner working with us up through the day of our wedding and she answered all of our questions. The staff was courteous and absolutely amazing on our big day!

The wedding planner, Megan, was amazing! She was able to move the placement of the ceremony last minute. She is the only reason I gave them a 2 star. However, there were many problems with the day of, and its unfortunate that due to staff, ruined a bunch of my day. Save your money and go elsewhere.

I cannot imagine if we had our wedding any place other than the Coralville Marriott. From start to finish, the service was amazing. Our Coordinator Natasha answered any questions I had and was always incredibly professional and helpful. Natasha and her team at the Marriott made every event leading up to the wedding so much fun. The tasting was beautiful! They setup an entire menu of our requests and had a table set for us and our guests. The day of the wedding, I forgot to remind my brother to move our arch from the reception space to the ceremony outside. As I was getting pictures with our photographer, I looked and saw Natasha and her assistant setting up the arch and making sure every bit of it looked just right. When I look back on our wedding, all I have are great memories on what a seamless, perfect day it was. The Marriott not only made our day beautiful, but stress-free for my husband and I as well as the rest of our wedding party. If you're getting married in Iowa City/Coralville area, USE THE MARRIOTT :)

The staff at the Marriott were great to work with! I appreciate their attention to detail and assistance as we got closer to the wedding. We had our wedding reception in one of the ballrooms and had a great time. We all enjoyed working with Shannon and Natasha - thank you for your hard work!

The Marriott was wonderful for our outdoor summer wedding. The terrace was the prefect place for us to have our ceremony! It was so nice to have everything in one spot. They provided us with a place to get ready and store things a few days before. The food was incredible! We had such large portions of our food I was actually full after dinner. For a bride that is almost unheard of!
There were a few hiccups along with way. My husband and I live in Des Moines so a lot of things were done via email. For the most part, that went smoothly. Shannon really made sure to get the most out of the times we would come to town for meetings. I would recommend the Marriott, but be aware of the higher price tag.

We had our wedding reception at the Coralville Marriott on August 8, 2015. Our entire experience with the Marriott and its staff leading up to and during the event was fabulous! Prior to the event, all of our questions were answered thoroughly and promptly, and it was easy to make sure all of the details that we wanted were taken care of. During our event, the staff were fabulous and made sure that everything that we wanted was taken care of throughout the entire night. We were able to have our cocktail hour on the south terrace, which was great for our guests to be able to enjoy the nice weather. The Oakdale ballroom had plenty of room for all of our guests, and everyone had plenty of room to dance as well! Although the Marriott is slightly more expensive than some other reception venues in the Iowa City/Coralville area, it is entirely worth it as they take care of all of your food, drinks, decorations, cake, etc. Having this as well as a day of event-planner helped the day to run so smoothly and eliminated so much of the work and worry for us prior to our wedding, it was definitely worth it! It was great being able to reserve a block of rooms in the hotel as well, all of our guests appreciated being able to stay at the hotel afterwards! I would highly recommend this beautiful location and their excellent staff!

The Marriott did an absolutely wonderful job with our wedding day. We had our ceremony outdoors and the scenery was so beautiful, we didn't need any decorations. The reception was inside and the ballroom size was set to fit the number of guests perfectly. I generally think all wedding food tastes the same, but our food (stuffed chicken, asparagus, mashed potatoes) was delicious and we received several compliments from our guests saying the same thing. I have nothing but good things to say about the Marriott and I'm happy we trusted them to make our big day perfect.

Everything was absolutely perfect for our big day! Numerous people came up to us at the reception and commented on how amazing the food was and how beautiful the venue was. The staff was more than accommodating to us and our guests.
Our wedding planner was Shannon and she was awesome! She made sure to cater to every request that we made and she also made thoughtful recommendations to make our day even more special. She met with us several times and made sure to get to know us and made sure she knew exactly what we wanted.
We got a great group rate to make rooms affordable for our guests and the hotel made sure we had plenty of rooms blocked off for anyone who wanted to stay.
The girls and the guys both had a large conference room to get ready in. It was more than enough space for all of us!
There is a large patio out back where we had a cocktail hour/ open bar for our guests between the ceremony and the reception. It is a beautiful space. Our wedding was in early spring and the flowers were blooming which made pictures AMAZING. Our photographer (Lindsay Herbst Photography) was very creative and we even got some amazing shots in the parking garage.
There are many food options for hors d'oeuvres and for dinner. We chose to do stations for dinner which ended up being very well liked by our guests (meat carving, mashed potatoes, etc.) Ask about the mashed potato martini bar! It's amazing! We got to taste every type of food we served at the reception before our big day.
The best part was that the staff helped us set up our centerpieces on the tables before the reception and then they took everything down at the end of the night, so we didn't have anything to worry about but having a great time.
I don't have one bad thing to say about our wedding experience at the Coralville Marriott. I highly recommend it to anyone getting married in the area! Worth every penny!

We worked with Brittney throughout our wedding planning process and couldn't have been happier with how our wedding and reception turned out! Brittney was always there to answer any questions and provide suggestions for anything and everything. She always had a fix to any problem I could come up with. Every single employee that we worked with went above and beyond to make our wedding day special. Mack worked with us at the reception and had a beer waiting when we returned for our reception. We couldn't have asked for better service and quality and it was definitely worth every penny. We would recommend Brittney and the whole Marriot crew to everyone!!

I reserved a room block for my guests at the Marriott. The staff was very helpful in getting me quotes and following up. We provided them will all of our wedding details, as it was at another location, to ensure our family and friends could ask them for that info. I received great feedback from my family that the hotel was very nice.

We had such a great experience working with Kerry and her staff at the C.R. Marriott. Everyone was very kind and helped to make our reception run smoothly. It was exactly what we were wanting and expecting.

I ended up getting my reception switched to this location at the last minute due to some problems with my original venue. The people at the Mariott were very accommodating and the entire reception turned out beautifully. They went out of their way to make sure everything went just as planned and I was really impressed with their entire staff.

I would NOT recommend the Coralville Marriott. They double booked my reception so I had no back up for bad weather. They broke my champaign classes and picture frames. We did a rehersal and then they set up chairs in the opposite direction we discussed. They wouldn't let us take our left over food home. I met the coordinator for a pre-wedding run through and told her where everything was suppose to go and they did not even set up the room or cocktail hour correctly. The rooms were not nice and our refridgerator did not work. I wish I would have had my entrire wedding at the Iowa City Sheraton.

I was very happy with our choice to use Coralville Marriott as one of our guest hotels. Everyone who stayed there seemed to be very pleased as well. The only issue we had was that the groom's twin brother who is in the military got in just in time for the wedding that day and then went to check in to the hotel that evening and they said they did not have enough rooms (even though he had a reservation that was made well in advance). They claimed they had some plumbing problems on a block of rooms, but it was still unacceptable that they would over book like that.
