My wedding ceremony & reception were held in their SunCourt room, a tented space that they put up in the Summer. It’s all white, so essentially a blank canvas to create your perfect venue look. It was a little less impressive than I imagined, a...s I booked based on photos before it was put up for the Summer. Either way, at night with lighting it looked nice.
I worked with Jenna and she was very sweet, kind, and answered all of my questions quickly. Our cocktail hour and main photos were done in their Atrium, which is such a unique space and the guests loved it. It was nice to feel like we were outdoors, only with AC instead of hot humid air.
Some things that really disappointed me, however, was the fact that their brochure is misleading in terms of receiving Hyatt points. While the brochure clearly states an amount of points earned based on total spend, I was told later it wasn’t really based on total spend. Also, we were told that we could only receive points at the time of booking, which was never explained to us prior to or at booking, nor was it stated anywhere on their brochure. All in all, we never got the points we thought we would. Their billing system is confusing/odd as well, they charge service on all fees and then tax on everything including service - they messed up our bill a couple of times.
Next, you don’t really get a wedding coordinator with them, and while Jenna helped out as much as possible, we were constantly reminded of what their staff would not do. If you book them you will need to hire a wedding planner separately to decorate, coordinate the day, and to give you peace of mind. Also, the hotel staff in general (front desk) is unhelpful and had the delivery people call me instead of just directing them to the Suncourt. My mom and bridesmaids had to pause their makeup/hair to direct the deliveries.
I was also really sad that they said no to our petal throw at our ceremony exit, which had been previously discussed and agreed to, but then not allowed last minute on the day of the wedding (the petals and cones I purchased ended up not being used). Our exit photos were ruined and our guests were very confused when our ceremony ended. I would advise against having both ceremony and reception in their SunCourt because they only have an hour to flip the space, and so many of our requests couldn’t be done due to “timing”.
Also, some of the menu agreements were not fully met (ie. No bread / crostini with our cheese station, only Ritz crackers), and by the time I went to get food at the cocktail hour the stations were messy and hadn't been replenished. I had hoped that the hors d'oeuvres would have been passed around, but they just put the food out buffet style.
Lastly, the carpet in our dressing room was dirty and shedding horribly and it got all over my dress throughout the day as I walked, which turned into a nightmare for my bridesmaids as they constantly had to be cleaning my dress with a lint roller.
Considering the price point, we felt that the Hyatt should have been better, but overall, pretty good. The hotel is a cool and unique space, and they give you a suite with some gifts (even a small one from your registry) at the end of the night, which was really thoughtful. It was an easy booking and planning process with them too so it worked for us since we had to change venues last minute due to Covid. The food was good and the bartender and serving staff were all very nice too.
