Very focused on details! Helpful in all ways and the rooms have a great view of the water!
We had our reception in the Riverview ballroom- I would high recommend this space.
Food- The food was OUTSTANDING. We could not have received more compliments on the food. The banquets staff during dinner was efficient, and polite.
Our catering sales manager Charlotte was a joy to work with. She was always on her game and went above and beyond for us many times. We truly appreciated everything she did!
Areas of Improvement Needed:
The linens on the important tables were very wrinkly- not quality at all. The chair covers on the chairs were ivory and very, very stained.
At 12PM on the day of our wedding, the room was barely set. They told us they had no plans of setting it until 3PM- our reception was at 6PM. After much begging, they agreed to have it done by 1PM which left our photographer little time to get pictures of all of the details.
If you are hosting a bar, the Hyatt configures "how many drinks they think will be consumed" and charges you upfront, they say that they will refund your money if you don't get to the limit and charge you if you go over the limit. When our bill arrived days after our wedding, sure enough, the Hyatt claimed we drank the exact amount of glasses of wine and champagne they assumed we would drink. Not 2 glasses-less or 16 more, the exact amount. We were completely taken advantage of and this is an unethical practice. To top it off I chose to serve a bottle of champagne at a higher price point than the Hyatt's house option. After the wedding, I was in a liquor store with one our wedding guest and pointed out to her the champagne we served and her response was, 'That bottle looks nothing like the champagne bottle behind the bars that night." She and my father along with a few other guests said it was terrible champagne, I can't help but assume they charged me the higher price point but still served their house option.
4. The room block was a mess. The people were difficult to work with and were constantly confused with simple instructions. They gave us a price of $109.00. We filled our block and the Hyatt continued to add more rooms and continued to extend our cut-off date, I thought how nice of them. Two weeks prior to our event, a guest pointed out that they could book directly with Hyatt for rates of $89.00 and $99.00. When I called the Hyatt appalled, Hyatt gave me a personal web page for guest to book directly under my block. I asked them why my guests are booking in at a rate higher than the BAR their response was "well when we get closer to a date we have to lower our rates based on our amount of inventory". While this is true it is also their job to manage their inventory and not undercut their blocks.
When we first went to look at the Hyatt after we got engaged, the landscaping was beautiful and we thought this place is a gem! A year and a half later at our wedding outside of the Hyatt looked more like a Holiday Inn express- this place seems to be going down at a rapid rate. The Hyatt as our vendor causes us a lot of stress and this is unfortunate because it could be a premier venue.
**We wanted to pay for two suites that were attached to some of our families rooms. The Hyatt charged our card for the suites and they double dipped and charged our brother-in-law's card for the suites . How this happens I have no clue. But my when they called to talk about the billing discrepancies the Hyatt did offer us points for our troubles.
