From the very beginning, Melissa was incredibly detailed, thoughtful, and attentive. I truly appreciated how she took the time to ask the right questions and really understand my vision for the big day. She didn’t just listen—she absolutely delivered.

We couldn’t be happier that we worked with I Do…Weddings for our February wedding at Scripps Seaside Forum in La Jolla. We had the honor of working with Melissa who in every way is an absolute professional and expert in her field. We underestimated the difficulty of planning a wedding at a completely blank slate venue, and Melissa’s vast experience with all the quirks and possible options at Scripps was a total godsend. We left every conversation with her feeling more calm and confident that everything would be OK. And our wedding turned out not just OK, but phenomenal. During the month leading up to our wedding Melissa took so much off our plates – more than we even realized we had on our plates – in terms of vendor communications, timelines and event logistics so that we were able to focus on the final details that really mattered to us and feel relaxed leading up to the day. She exudes competence and calm which we so needed during the planning process and on the day itself. In an industry that seems like it’s exploding with trends, excess and frivolity, it meant a lot to us to be working with someone who has been planning weddings for over 20 years, has truly seen it all, and who had grounded perspectives on what would really give us and our guests the best possible experience (and who of course knows about the trends as well!). Can’t recommend her and her team enough!
Melissa and the team at I do… Weddings were phenomenal in every phase of the wedding from planning, to the week and day of and through the aftermath. Melissa helped us from the very beginning figure out how to even get started in what seems like an impossible event to start planning. In our vendor selection Melissa was thoughtful with recommendations when we needed them and enthusiastic about options we brought to the table ourselves. She, seemingly, effortlessly navigated the numerous communications with vendors over the months leading up to the wedding. We were fortunate enough for some of our family to meet Melissa along the way. Each person that met her individually remarked how confident Melissa made them that the wedding would be a great success and allowed them to relax and start to just enjoy the ride. As for the week of and day of Melissa and her team’s efforts and coordination matched the growing list of things to do and places to be. Melissa made sure we kept up with the moving parts with a calm demeanor. When it came to the day of there were really no more worries left. We go to enjoy the busy day and Melissa orchestrated the concert of logistical events. Even in the aftermath of the event Melissa just kept going making sure all of the breakdown went according to plan, items got into various vehicles and the venue was returned to it’s original state. Overall we had an excellent experience with Melissa and her team and would whole heartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a planner at any stage of their wedding. Melissa was professional and endlessly competent while still making it feel personal and collaborative.

We interviewed many planners before hiring Melissa from I Do Weddings and from our very first conversation, we knew Melissa would be the right choice for us, and she far exceeded our expectations! Melissa’s professionalism and knowledge of the wedding business was so helpful. She kept us on a great timeline with planning before the big day and her sense of calm on the wedding day made all the difference in the world. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Melissa!!
Jill is AMAZING and everything you are reading is true! My husband and I got married in La Jolla on 10/12/24 and the magic of the day would not have happened if it wasn't for Jill. We hired Jill with less than 6 months until our planned date and she was the definition of professional from the very start. Our wedding was at a private estate and during the initial walk she was able to visualize exactly how to best use the space and turn it into the wedding of our dreams. She was very detailed in the timeline of our wedding and flexible with last minute changes (like deciding to hire a florist 2 weeks before the wedding). Her effort and dedication through the entire event is unparalleled and I can say with certainty that anyone who has the pleasure of working with Jill and her team will be happy with the results.
Melissa was the month-of wedding coordinator for our wedding at La Jolla Shores Hotel on October 7th, 2024. After reading the reviews listed here, it is clear that the “month-of” package does not receive the same level of attention and effort that the planner packages receive from Melissa.
Strengths: (1) 20+ years of experience, (2) has worked at the venue before, (3) good communication with vendors on day of the wedding, (4) excellent vendor recommendations, (5) efficient and tasteful setup & take-down of décor, (6) unlimited emails & calls included in coordination package, (7) brought an assistant to help, (8) décor rentals available for reasonable prices, (9) also a florist
Weaknesses: (1) poor attention to detail (sent emails asking for information that she should have known was irrelevant to our situation—making it clear she didn’t take notes on previous conversations and didn’t distinguish our wedding from that of other clients; sent incorrect information to vendors so we had to follow up with corrections; sent us an invoice for the final deposit full of incorrect information; sent us multiple documents with incorrect information after we had discussed changes multiple times; among many other examples), (2) tardiness (showed up late to every single in-person meeting, including the rehearsal), (3) gaslighting (confirmed with me and multiple family members at the final walkthrough and the rehearsal that the venue would groom the sand for the ceremony, and that there would be a carpet on the aisle provided by the venue; when neither of these happened, she said we were all making it up), (4) confused everyone during the rehearsal (hadn’t reviewed the ceremony order of events prior to arriving and massively confused my family until the officiant jumped in and began to lead the rehearsal), (5) ruined my guestbook and never acknowledged or apologized (I gave her our laser-cut tree & leaves guestbook several days before the wedding; she lost the leaves that the guests sign, and instead brought some flimsy slips of paper that don’t fit and fully ruined a memento we hoped to put on our wall forever), (6) lost one of my rentals, which I will need to pay extra for
Melissa is an ABSOLUTE gem!! I was a DIY bride and really needed someone to execute my vision. Melissa exceeded my wildest dreams. She was prompt, efficient, knowledgeable, and just the sweetest person ever! The day of my wedding was stress free. Melissa handled everything while I got to truly enjoy the day with my partner. If anything went wrong, I had no idea because she handled everything. She made sure we were hydrated, fed, and running on schedule. All the decorations were set up exactly how I described and packed up before the end of the night. I couldn't have asked for a better month of wedding planner. If you're looking for someone who knows this industry inside and out, Melissa is the one for you!!
The I Do...Weddings Team was great to work with, specifically Elena! Elena made our wedding planning and day of experience so amazing. She took all stress out of the equation so we could sit back, relax and enjoy the once-in-a-lifetime experience. I would recommend using Elena and the I Do Weddings Team over and over again! We were incredibly lucky when entertaining the idea of hiring a wedding planner and clicked on I Do Weddings/Jill Hudgin's name first when looking at tagged vendors on our venue's Instagram. From the first phone call with Jill it was clear just how helpful she would be for the next 1+ year of wedding planning. She recommended the best vendors in San Diego at any price points we needed and provided expert advice on any topics we had questions on that allowed us to have the wedding of our dreams within a budget we were comfortable with. She kept us and our vendors on track every step of the way. Jill is so efficient and effective but is also so fun, has a can-do attitude and overall is such a pleasure to work with. The actual wedding day went by without a snag because Jill thought of everything beforehand. We cannot recommend Jill enough to any couple debating whether to get a planner or who to hire as a planner. In the end, she saved us money and our sanity by hiring her. We absolutely adore Jill!
Where to even begin! Jill Hudgins was our wedding planner/saint for the 8 months leading up to our wedding. When I say I can’t imagine how any of our big day would have been possible without her - I absolutely mean it. We knew from our first introductory call with Jill that she was going to be such a great partner and friend through the process. She was thoughtful, organized, and brought the best energy to every detail! When it came time to find and vet vendors, she actually ended up saving us quite a bit of money by either finding identical less expensive vendors or by reviewing contracts and removing unnecessary charges. The real magic happened during the week of our wedding and we needed some emergency rentals - Jill came through with some contacts and got it immediately sorted for us. I got so many compliments on how relaxed I seemed on my wedding day and it was because I knew Jill had my back and everything was going to be perfect.
I cannot recommend Jill Hudgins enough. I already miss working with her and I know she will elevate any couple and wedding she works with in the future. Do not miss the chance to partner with such a great planner!

Jill Hudgins is an exceptional wedding planner. We held our wedding at the Scripps Seaside Forum and specifically wanted someone with experience at the venue. It was super convenient because it was one less vendor I had to coordinate with, and she understood the aesthetic vision I had for my wedding and helped it come to life. We had a wonderful experience working with the I Do team for coordination. While our particular contract was focused on the month leading up to the wedding, the team provided valuable expertise and helped us to review contracts far in advance of that, essentially acting on call to ensure that the aspects we handled on our own were set up for success. We were introduced to our coordinator about two months before the wedding date, and her organization and attention to detail immediately impressed me. She really helped us to feel confident in our itinerary, and even provided us with draft emails for vendors and members of the bridal party to get everyone on the same page.
The weekend of the event, Elena was so incredible and coordinated all of the vendors, timing, communication between parties, and schedule adjustments, so we could simply enjoy the day. In addition to being extremely talented at what she does, she was also a pleasure (and fun!) to work with.
The coordinator’s assistant was also incredible and so helpful the day of the event. The team received so many compliments from our guests and families — we can’t imagine doing our big day without them!
There are not enough words to express how grateful we are to have had Jill Hudgins as our planner. We had a longer engagement and had the pleasure of working with Jill for almost two years. With many many changes along the way (including a venue change) and a very large wedding party, Jill handled everything seamlessly and with patience and grace. She made sure everything was taken care of so we were able to enjoy our day. Planning this event with her was not only easy, but she was so much fun. We looked forward to our meetings and check-ins. and she handled all details with ease and thoughtfulness. She kept in mind our larger vision and always provided helpful suggestions and ideas. Chelsea was our day-of coordinator and she was awesome! The way she ran our rehearsal and kept things organized, we knew we were in good hands for our big day. Our ceremony had a lot of moving parts and Chelsea handled it all easily. I don't know how she managed to be everywhere but she was and did it gracefully! Right before the ceremony, the Mother of the Groom broke her heel and Chelsea was right there to help fix the situation. Her emergency kit came in handy and whatever she did lasted all night, even through the Mother/Son dance.
During the reception, Chelsea was always once step ahead and kept us on schedule. We saw her running around and handling everything with ease. She checked in on us often, and did a great job communicating with us throughout the night. She is super kind and was a joy to work with. Thank you so much Chelsea for being a part of our day and making it as special as it was! We are so grateful we hired I Do Weddings! We vetted many wedding coordinators and after our first call with Melissa, we knew she was the choice for us. She was super kind, took the time to listen to all our needs, and treated us with the care that we were looking for. She helped us throughout the planning process and guided us whenever we had questions or needed advice. We also hired Melissa to be our Florist. and it was 100% the right choice! If you are looking for a wedding coordinator look no further and book right now. We scoured the internet for the right fit, and after our first phone call with Jill everything fell into place. We booked Jill as our month of coordinator and she was SO helpful, kind, professional, and took all the stress off our plate. We thought we knew what we were doing, but Jill quickly added soooo much knowledge to the planning process and helped us fine tune details that were not even on our radar prior to working with Jill. We got married at Scripps Seaside Forum and on the day of the wedding Jill handled everything perfectly. If anything went wrong we had no idea because she handled it. After almost one year of marriage, we're finally getting around to writing our review (sorry, Melissa!). :) From the start, Melissa was so kind and responsive. She really spent the time getting to know us so she could offer personalized recommendations and vendors that she knew would help make our wedding dreams come to life....and she executed all of it flawlessly! Needless to say, we loved working with her and her team. Everyone we interacted with was extremely professional and detail orientated, including the vendors that she recommended. My wedding day was the best day of my life, and I have to give so much credit to Jill Hudgins with I Do... Weddings & Events. I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful it was to go through this process with her. We had a short timeline-- we started planning in August for an April wedding, and we were all locked in with our vendors within 3 months. Jill was so encouraging and was able to answer any and all of our questions. When it was supposed to rain on our wedding day, she checked in with me multiple times not only to go over a contingency plan, but to make sure I was feeling okay. I felt so confident on my wedding day that everything was going to go according to plan, so I hardly had any nerves at all! This is really something considering that my venue was very strict with timing, which meant that vendors had under 2 hours to set up. That's INSANE, but Jill and her team handled it. If she can orchestrate a venue turnover for 163 guests in 2 hours, she can do anything.

We were so fortunate to have Melissa as our planner, coordinator, and florist for our recent wedding at Scripps Seaside Forum. She is incredibly seasoned, professional, and responsive, and played an instrumental role in the success of our wedding.
My now-husband and I knew we wanted to give our guests an iconic San Diegan wedding, and no better place than at Scripps! The challenge with this venue is that all the vendors need to be brought in, which is much more work than an all-inclusive venue. Melissa was a wonderful source of support throughout this process, providing useful recommendations based on our budget, reviewing all the contracts as they came in, and responding quickly to any questions I sent her way. Every time we met with her in person, we left feeling reassured and confident that she could make our vision a reality.
In the months leading up to our wedding, she took control of communicating with all our vendors, finalizing details and ensuring everyone was on the same page. She sent us tasks to focus on each week so that we could stay on track and was always mindful not to place too big of a burden on us. Thanks to this, we had few remaining to-dos the week of our wedding, and could focus on spending time with our family and wedding party.
When a storm was forecasted to hit on our wedding weekend, Melissa reassured us she had contingency plans in place, and sent us and the vendors regular updates. Fortunately, the sky cleared up just in time for our ceremony, and we were able to have it outdoors. In times like these, when uncertainty and stress arise, it makes it all the more important to have an experienced planner like Melissa.
On our wedding day, Melissa touched base with both of us in the morning, quietly delivered the most gorgeous bouquets to our Airbnb, and returned to the venue to set up a fantastic ceremony and reception. The day went by in a blur, but at no point did I feel stressed about the details because she was there running the show effortlessly and keeping things on track. The clean-up process was also made super smooth and easy for us. Thanks to Melissa, my husband and I were truly able to enjoy celebrating our wedding with our loved ones, and everyone had an amazing time!
We worked with Caitlyn Flannery for our wedding this past weekend. From our first call with Caitlyn to our wedding, she was so easy to work with! I felt nerves but no stress on our wedding day as I knew Caitlyn would handle it all smoothly. Everything went amazing and I could not imagine a more perfect day for us! We had some rain in the morning - I wanted the ceremony to be outside but felt comfortable knowing Caitlyn had backup plans for rain and it would go well either way. She is very kind, organized, and attentive. Would definitely recommend working with her!
I found a kindred soul in Elena- she cared about my wedding as if it were her own and she knew every detail backwards and forwards. I felt a weight lifted off of me the day we hired her, and all the way through our wedding day. She is friendly and passionate and detail oriented, basically the ideal wedding planner.

We initially spoke with Melissa and knew right away we wanted to hire her to be our wedding coordinator because she was clearly experienced, very professional, easy to talk to and was very familiar with our venue (L ‘Auberge Del Mar, CA). However, we really only needed a day of coordinator with some month of assistance (we had already picked most of our vendors) and while Melissa was able to curate a unique package that fit just what we needed at a very reasonable price, she was not able to be our coordinator for our wedding but promised us an experienced member of her team. We were nervous at first having built the rapport with Melissa, but we were placed with Elena, and she did not disappoint. Elena was responsive, kind, professional and experienced. She had creative ideas, patiently responded to all my emails and concerns as our wedding day was quickly approaching and handled the unexpected rain for our outdoor wedding seamlessly. She even came prepared with a cute clear umbrella for me to use. She put our vision to life and kept our interests at the forefront. I would highly recommend the I DO team, especially Elena and Melissa, if you are looking for a coordinator. You will not be disappointed and will be in the hands of the best in the business.
Where do I begin?! Hiring Melissa to coordinate our wedding at Scripps Seaside Forum was the best vendor decision we made. We got the month-of coordination which included unlimited communication throughout the planning process, and it was so helpful as we were planning to know she was just an email away if we had any questions. Once we hit a month before the wedding, she was truly a godsend. Every single vendor we hired said "oh, Melissa is your coordinator? You're so lucky." Her reputation speaks volumes and on the day of the wedding, everything was perfect. At the rehearsal we stuffed her car to the brim with our personal items, and she put my family and wedding party all at ease. Everything was so seamless. My bouquet fell apart in the middle of photos and she put it back together with ease. She crafted a boutonniere from bridesmaid bouquets when one was lost. I'm sure there's thousands of other things that went wrong that I didn't even see or notice because she was just that good. I could go on and on forever, but the point is Melissa made our day perfect and I am forever grateful!!!!!
I wish I could write 1000 reviews to express the gratitude I have for Jill at I Do Weddings and Events. I spoke with 4-5 other wedding planners before I found Jill, but when I did, I knew my search was done. Jill was professional, quick to respond, helpful, and above all else, so so incredibly caring. When we began wedding planning, I had a loose idea of what I wanted, but didn't really see a path to getting there. Jill was instrumental in executing my vision, I would have been lost without her! Time and time again, Jill went above and beyond for my husband and I checking in with us, sending us ideas and helping us with every detail along the way. Cut to our wedding weekend, Jill came to my aid when I needed her the very most. The roughly 150 guests that attended out wedding on 11/11 have not stopped telling us that it was the best wedding they have every been to and that would not have been possible without Jill! I am truly so thankful for her and her team and cannot wait to find any excuse to work with her again in the future!!
I can't say enough great things about working with Jill! My husband and I didn't have a whole lot of vision for our wedding, and Jill did an excellent job working with us to create a truly unforgettable and beautiful day that was beyond anything we could have put together alone. Working with her throughout the wedding planning process (and day of) reduced so much of the stress involved, and it was a huge source of support knowing that we had her to help us with all of the event/guest/weather-related hiccups. Jill was such a joy to work with, was always patient and understanding, and we had a surprising amount of fun along the way! I'd highly recommend her for any event planning needs.
Jill is INCREDIBLE! I’m so grateful that we work with Jill. We gave her the task of planning a wedding in 6 months, and she did it perfectly and made the process seamless. She always cared and took the time to answer all of our questions, she was always a phone call away and how communicative she was made the wedding planning process less stressful. We had an emergency errand during the wedding and she saved the day with some quick thinking and going above and beyond. She made sure that our wedding day was perfect. I had multiple family and friends tell me how great Jill was with assisting on our wedding day. One of my bridesmaids said that she is the best wedding planner that she’s ever seen. When looking for a wedding planner, I wanted someone who reminded me of myself - organized, able to multitask, works well under pressure, all of the "type A" personality traits. After one phone call with Jill, I knew she was the one! As I got to know her better, I appreciated how she not only handled things like a boss, but with such kindness and grace. She became a person I could trust and rely on, and I felt as if our wedding was her wedding too. She cared about the things that were important to us and provided us with endless recommendations and tips to make our wedding the best it could be.
It was not always an easy planning process, but Jill was always an email or phone call away, and did I mention her response time is absolutely incredible! When we hit a bump in the road with our venue and thought we were potentially going to have to switch venues, Jill was there with a list of alternative options. And when the thought of that made me want to cry, she checked in on me because she cared about me as a person. Jill had my back and made me feel better any time I started to stress throughout the process.
Our wedding day ended up being even better than we could have ever imagined. Everything went off without a hitch...at least that we were aware of, and that is all because of Jill! I even had family and friends telling me during and after the event how great Jill was coordinating vendors and assisting guests. One of my bridesmaids said she was the best coordinator she's ever seen on a wedding day.

Melissa is AMAZING. As a type A person, I was a little wary about trusting someone with our wedding, but Melissa is super detail oriented and organized and made sure every aspect of our wedding was perfect. Throughout the entire planning process Melissa was there to recommend vendors, keep us on track, and most importantly to truly listen to what we wanted for our wedding day and make it possible. She talked us through all of the options for venues and design. It was so nice to have someone to do all the heavy lifting with vendor research, contact, and all the emails. Melissa helped plan and coordinated our wedding day which included two wedding ceremonies at two different venues (one Hindu, one Christian), a brunch in between the two ceremonies, and a reception in addition to a mehndi/henna party two days before our wedding. It was a long, crazy weekend to say the least but Melissa was calm, cool, and collected throughout the entire thing. She arrived early and made sure all of my decor was set up and distributed between the two venues the day of the wedding. Melissa seamlessly took care of any and all little and big problems that popped up throughout the day. She did this so well that I never even knew about most of the issues and truly felt like the guest of honor all day. From being my unofficial bodyguard against strangers trying to take my picture and stand in the aisle right before I walked down the aisle, to helping bustle my dress, to organizing the baraat procession in the morning and everything in between, Melissa did not miss a beat. The whole week of our wedding family and friends kept commenting that I seemed almost too calm and relaxed for a bride to be spending the day before at the beach and not running around doing last minute things. But I truly was that relaxed thanks to Melissa and all her hard work. To anyone looking for a wedding planner/coordinator, we cannot recommend Melissa and her team enough. You will not be disappointed!

I Do Weddings & Events were truly amazing. Melissa the head of the company enlisted us in Elena's care for our wedding. Even with Elena as our coordinator, Melissa still sent emails letting me know she was there and supporting us. Our coordinator, Elena, was so responsive, positive, supportive, and helpful throughout the whole process. My husband doesn't comment on much, but after every phone call or meeting we had with her he said, " I really like her!" Or "she's great! ". She truly was. She felt like a friend. On days when I was really stressed planning things, she brought calmness and direction in helping make decisions. She and her assistant Chelsea set up everything perfectly and kept us on our timeline and truly everything ran so seamlessly! I am the planner in my group of friends and family, and I am used to following up on things and taking care of things and to have someone on such a huge important day take away that stress from me, I was so grateful. I was able to relax and enjoy our day to the fullest.
Melissa is an absolute pro - and this is coming from another wedding vendor. As a musician, it is really important to have all of the details coordinated with clients well in advance, and we've worked with Melissa on a number of occasions where her communications, personality, and operational set up is exceptional. Highly recommend as a fellow wedding pro and just as a nice person to be around!
Melissa was amazing!! Even in the most stressful moments of planning whether that was because I was behind on making a decision or having decision fatigue or I was getting conflicting feedback from family members and just getting overwhelmed, I don't think Melissa was ever stressed or worried or concerned about our day coming together perfectly. (And if she ever was, she certainly never showed it which we obviously appreciate =)
She was consistently calm, cool, and collected. She provided her perspective and opinion when appropriate, but didn't pushed her personal preferences on us. She supported what we liked and didn't like, and talked us through pros and cons of all the different options we were sorting through for vendors, design, etc.
It was also so helpful to have someone do so much of the heavy lifting and recon for us when it came to researching vendors, setting up calls and meetings, coordinating logistics, picking up rentals, organizing contracts, making special requests, and the list goes on.
Also I really appreciated how special she made us feel, as if we were her only couple and the only wedding on her plate. From the day we hired her, she was constantly hyping us up. She celebrated every milestone kept us excited and motivated, especially in the week and days leading up to our wedding.
What I didn't anticipate was the godsend she would serve as on our wedding day. She called me in the morning to check in on how things were going before she arrived which put me at ease. She handled literally countless little things like designing and setting up our seating chart and guest book tables (when I saw them at the reception I was like wow this is so cool who did that!), coordinating our Marine sword arch outfit changes, ensuring we were on schedule throughout the evening, stealing a few minutes for us to be alone and eat some apps, bustle my dress, perfectly fold my groom's pocket square, and I'm sure plenty of other things I probably still don't even know she took care of. These sound small, but it was these tiny details I didn't realize would come with her package. I wasn't worried she'd be all over the big stuff like photographer, videographer, officiant, cake drop off, floral set up, etc. It was clear from the beginning all of that was in good hands.
And again, outside of logistics, I just really enjoyed her vibe and her energy. She was professional, kind, confident, organized, and again literally always excited about our day. It made everything come together for what I objectively consider the best wedding ever.
Could we have handled all that goes into wedding planning on our own? Maybe. Would we have enjoyed our day at all? Probably not. Would I have quit planning a wedding and raced to the courthouse about 5 seconds in? Definitely.
You will not regret hiring a wedding coordinator/planner, especially if it's Melissa. Or probably anyone on her team, I follow them all on Instagram and I would've happily taken any of them =) Good luck with your wedding planning, brides!

Where do I even begin!? Melissa was our wedding planner from start to finish, and she was amazing throughout the entire process. I was unsure about getting a wedding planner at first because I thought I could do it all on my own, but now after seeing how much detail goes into planning, I highly recommend a wedding planner! At the start, Melissa really got to know us personally, and our plan and vision. From there, she really helped us narrow down our options based on our ideas and budget. If you have ever Googled anything wedding related, you know that there is so much to choose from and it can be super overwhelming. Melissa narrowing down the options and giving recommendations was such a HUGE help! She attended all the property visits with us and all the meetings thereafter. Hiring Jill Hudgins as our wedding planner was easily the best decision we made in a long string of wedding decisions. From the very beginning, Jill asked us what our wedding priorities were and understood exactly what we were looking for in our wedding. We were extremely lucky to fall into the hands of Melissa Tuvey after being “ghosted” by our original wedding planner. Right off the bat she provided us with online tools to begin organizing our wedding priorities and details. She was able to provide and recommend so many amazing vendors to us during the early stages of planning. When we had in person meetings, she had such an attention to detail and would be typing up notes as we went and would email us all the links and notes we talked about to help keep everything in order. When we would go a few weeks without speaking she would check in on us or send any gentle reminders if we had any deadlines coming up. Melissa has a way of keeping you on track without overwhelming you.
As the wedding day got closer Melissa was an absolute life saver for us. Not only did she take all our DIY décor off our hands she set up everything the day before the wedding for us. The morning of the wedding it dawned on me that I forgot to buy limes for the bar and Melissa handled it for me. She was even wonderful enough to decorate our cake with flowers for us!! Our wedding day had a forecast for rain, and she helped us get some blankets and plan out tents for the venue at the last minute. When it rains it pours… we had a huge family emergency our Granny broke her leg a few days before the wedding and Melissa was able to help us plan a block of time to leave the reception to visit her at the hospital. She planned everything so well that none of our guest even realized we disappeared. Towards the end of the night, she started packing up all our stuff into designated cars. We really had nothing to worry about, we enjoyed the entire day and she handled everything for us. Even a few of our family members and friends came up to us and complimented how well she did the timeline. I can truly say that our wedding would not have been as magical without her. Melissa is truly the best and such a kind soul. We are so grateful for her!!
We worked with Melissa as our month-of wedding coordinator and she was great. She is clearly very experienced and has worked with a lot of the vendors in the area. She's also planned so many weddings in the San Diego and La Jolla areas and so was a great resource. She was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what questions to ask and what to plan for. Our wedding day ran so perfectly without any major issues because of her help. Would highly recommend her coordination.

Melissa is absolutely fantastic!!! If you are debating about getting a wedding planner/coordinator, DO IT! Melissa made the whole wedding planning process so much less stressful. She was incredible, and handled everything beautifully. I was horribly ill on my wedding day, and Melissa took care of absolutely everything, and made sure that no one bothered me on my big day. I honestly thought we didn't need a planner, but my husband convinced me and OMG he was right!! There is NO WAY we could've been in the moment and enjoyed our day the way we did without Caitlyn. We hired her for our day-of-coordinator but she ended up being way more than that! There were so many little details that Caityn took over and helped us with months before the wedding. She happily stepped in and made us feel at ease, communicating and working well with all of our vendors. She was so professional and so FUN to work with. Melissa was amazing! Two months prior to our wedding, unfortunately (FORTUNATELY) we had to let go of our former wedding coordinator. Melissa was able to step in, during busy season, and seamless transition everything into her care! I was at the point of no trust and Melissa was able to reassure me and effortlessness take all of my planning and bring my vision to life. We were 100% able to just enjoy our day!
Additionally, 30 minutes prior to our ceremony, my husband and I were starving after realizing we didn’t eat all day. She had a pizza to us in about 7 minutes so we could shove food in our face right before walking down the aisle.

After our first call, I couldn't wait to work with her. She let us be super creative and funky with our Gothic Themed wedding, plus she took the entire concept and nailed it. We also had her do our flowers because she completely understood our vision. From every vendor she recommended to every small detail, everything was so amazing. Hiring I Do… Weddings & Events was the best thing I did for my wedding party! I was hesitant to hire a planner because of the expense, but I Do has many affordable packages that can be customized to your needs. I ended up waiting until a month before my event to contact I Do, I wish I would have contacted them earlier. Their company keeps you organized and helps manage the details, keeping a timeline of your day so everything goes off without a hitch. They are always available to reach out to for any concerns. They will refer you to trusted vendors if needed too. Having their coordination really made planning easy and I was able to enjoy our party. Also, Melissa was awesome, she was executing the planning of my event from our first consultation to the day of! Chelsea was my coordinator at our wedding party, she made sure everything happened smoothly, she was great! I highly recommend I Do, having a party planner for a large event is as important as catering or florals. Don’t hesitate like I did!

Jill was absolutely AMAZING, I really don't know how we would have gotten through planning our wedding without her. When I first started thinking about planning my wedding I was on the fence about hiring a wedding planner/coordinator. I'm pretty organized/type A, and have had to plan events for work. We used Jill Hudgins to plan three wedding events over three (yikes) years. I cannot say enough wonderful things about her. She is truly excellent at every aspect of her job. She coordinated our small intimate ceremony, rehearsal event, and large reception. Each event was absolutely flawless. Jill helped us with every aspect of the wedding process, from finding a venue to bustling my gown on the wedding day. She seamlessly helped us navigate covid stress. She worked with us as we both have very busy careers and literally took care of everything. All we had to do was communicate with her what we wanted. She was impeccably organized and punctual. As I mentioned before, someone who is truly excellent at what she does and settles for nothing less than perfection. However what sets Jill apart is how much she cares for her clients. She made us feel like we were her only couple. She arranged so many special surprises for us (a lovely signature drink sign we still keep!) and all our guests and loved ones fell in love with her too. Melissa is the Fairy Godmother of wedding planning every bride needs on her wedding day! We had our wedding at Scripps Seaside Forum and she helped us with so much while we were planning. She gave us amazing vendor recommendations, kept on top of contract reviews, and most importantly executed the most beautiful layout. Melissa was there for us every step of the way and hiring her was the BEST DECISION we have ever made! Melissa and her team were on top of everything on the wedding day from sewing broken buttons, bustling my dress, and keeping us on our timeline ! At first I didn’t think we needed a wedding planner…but a few of my bride friends highly recommend it and referred me to I Do Weddings. I hit the jackpot with Chelsea Danhauser! She was absolutely worth her weight in gold! She was so organized, she created a day-of timeline for me, contacted all the vendors and made sure nobody was contacting me with any silly questions the week before. From helping setting up tables and decorations to wrangling the bridal party and family for pictures to holding our drinks for the perfect picture.
