Originally I was going to shop around for an engagement ring for my girlfriend. I had about 3-4 jewelers I was planning to meet. The first place on my list was ‘Icing On The Ring.’ Ara was the salesman I met and he was extremely helpful. Wonderful place with great service, clean store, tons of options (both diamonds and precious stones. Even though I wasn’t involved with my engagement ring, my husband wanted to make a custom ring that incorporated bumble bees (we met on bumble) and they delivered! When we went back for our wedding bands they helped us with picking the perfect ones and we even went on a weekend with a sell! My wedding day gift was a beautiful pink morganite necklace and when my husband told me he got it from Icing, I wasn’t surprised! If I had to summarize my experience with IOTR, I would say that it was MEMORABLE. Ani is super fun to work with and she really invested her time understanding mine and my fiancé's style preferences. He was able to work with Ani and the team to find the most perfect setting and a serendipitous result with my band design which gave me quite a shock when he proposed. I asked my mother's advice on how to purchase the right ring for my future wife. She said, "Honey, this is the most important piece of jewelry she'll ever own. It's okay to include her. Don't let anyone talk you into anything your'e not ready to buy." So I talked to my girlfriend, I told her I wanted the surprise to be "when", rather than “what” the ring looked like, and she was, of course, excited. (I also learned something very important from this conversation: she wanted a sapphire! NOT a diamond.) So we did our research, we shopped around, until we finally came across Icing on the Ring, a charming and sophisticated store in downtown LA. Miranda greeted us, and immediately took some edge off the overwhelming realization that there are likely thousands of ring possibilities in any given store. She helped us talk out what we liked, and what matched my girlfriend's style. I learned the rings are entirely more interesting and complicated than I’d ever imagined. But Miranda made them feel simple, and understandable. Miranda recommended we schedule an appointment with Raffi to go through the different cuts and colors; selecting a sapphire comes with its own unique considerations. Raffi spent a long time with me; I stopped in several times to review and discuss; I made phone calls, I emailed pictures and asked for quotes, and every time, Raffi responded with diligence and care, as if I was his priority customer number one. But for all the time I’d spent considering every little detail about this purchase, it was actually the first day that I'd met Raffi, that I’d decided I would buy from Icing on the Ring. He sat us down to take a look at a selection of stones, and after a good hour or so of his time, for no reason other than my own, cautious nature, I put up some defense; I politely explained “Just so you know, we're still shopping around, and won't be making any decisions any time soon." The folks at Icing on The Ring are a pleasure to work with. I bought my wife's engagement ring here, and she was over the moon about it. When it came time to get our wedding bands, we went together and they helped us pick out rings based on the description we told them we were looking for. They had a band that matched my wife's engagement ring and it looks great. In addition they have several QC checks in place and will not give you your ring unless it meets their high standards. They offer free adjustments every year to make sure your ring stays in the best shape. I won't buy jewelry anywhere else after the excellent service they have provided.

I went to Icing on the Ring and was very nervous about the whole engagement ring buying experience, but the staff (especially Salpie!)made the entire experience comfortable and enjoyable!I went in with some specifications of what my fiance wanted but with absolutely no knowledge of what any of it meant. I tried on wedding rings at several different jewelry stores and couldn't find anything that would sit nicely beside the large prongs on my platinum solitaire. Fortunately, my future brother and sister-in law suggested going to Icing on The Ring, where they had gotten their rings custom made. Ani and Garo were so helpful and friendly, and did a wonderful job assisting me with creating the perfect wedding band. They were able to create a ring from two different styles and custom fit the curve to sit perfectly beside my solitaire. They also resized my soltaire as it was a bit too big. It took one week, and both rings look amazing! I could not be happier! The cost was very reasonable and the service was wonderful. They were able to make my vision of the perfect ring a reality, while staying within my budget.

When it came time to go ring shopping, my fiance first came to Icing on the Ring and pretty much stuck with them. To give you a bit of a back ground, the man I'm about to marry has to THINK something to death before he makes an actual move, so for him to say that he went with the first jewelry store he entered; I was flabbergasted! For our 10th anniversary we chose to upgrade my ring/setting. I'd always loved my 2ct diamond but thought the setting could use more bling! After reading reviews online I decided to visit Icing on the Ring just to see, but not long after meeting with Ani and reviewing options I realized this was a great place and very trustworthy. They are so professional and knowledgeable. Everything from reviewing ideas with Ani, to consulting with her brother Vic on the custom design, to watching their father Mr. Rupchian set my stone while I watched, it was all very easy. They stayed in constant communication with me and even personally called me to assure I was in good hands because I was nervous about leaving my diamonds with them. Some of our friends had just go their engagment ring from Icing and were so impressed with the service and quality and they were right. We had tried some of the chain jewlers to find wedding rings and were dissatisified with what they offered. The entire staff at IOTR were great. From communication via email (which i do a lot of) to in store - They still remembered my name when I walked into the store to look at wedding bands almost a year after I purchased the engagement ring - very rare in today's businesses. The quality of the work is great and they are always honest when it comes to any questions you may have. There was never any pressure to buy something more expensive which was another welcome attribute. I was between two wedding bands and one was much more expensive but Raffi just informed me about the characteristics and let me decide. There was no push to try to persuade me either way. Their pricing is very good and competitive. I highly recommend IOTR for any jewelry.

I failed to rate them in 2009 when I first bought my rings. We bought both wedding bands here in 2009 for our wedding. The rings were awesome. I still have mine but my husband on the other hand decided he wanted to upgrade. Im too attached to mine emotionally so I didn't. We went this year Feb 2013 to upgrade. He got an awesome band full of diamonds. Its really nice and he gets a lot of compliments on it. My sister in law got married this year as well so she decided to buy her wedding band there too. She had an awesome experience as well. Although, I did not upgrade like my husband I bought myself a nice ring to go on the other hand :). These people are the most caring people. They truly care about you while you are there. They don't ever pressure you into buying anything. They make the experience a memorable one. When I do decide to upgrade, I will give them a call!

I purchased my fiancé’s engagement ring about a year ago and spent a good amount on a carrot and half diamond. I worked with Raffi and it was a nightmare! He’s extremely rude and pushy. I did research regarding what kind of diamond I wanted to purchase before going in, but Ralffi makes it a point to try and be little you. After about 45 minutes talking to him I told him I still wasn’t sure and he replied “I hope I’m not wasting my time with you”. Really!? I still purchased the engagement ring from and he was still extremely rude! No customer service skills what so ever. After looking around at one of the many shops down stairs I realized I drastically overpaid. Also Raffi was trying to sell me a Tungston wedding band for myself for $350, I ended up the same ring at SAM & SUE for $30!!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE AND SAVE SOME MONEY!!

Everyone was so nice and were very patient while we picked the diamond and the setting and customized my ring from two different ring models. They sent it on time and the product quality is amazing. I have not stopped getting compliments about my ring even from random strangers because it is so well done. Very happy with this purchase.

I have no complains but nothing to rave about this place. We only got our wedding bands here. Nothing fancy, just simple bands. The sales attendant was a little bit slow, but they delivered on the day they promised.

I have an anitque engagement ring and was having a hard time finding a matching band. Icing on the Ring was so helpful and made it so easy to customize my wedding band to compliment my engagement ring. The entire staff was beyond kind and I felt valued as a customer. I am not a jewelry type of gal, so finding the perfect wedding band for my fiancee was a daunting task at first. He gave me a general idea of what he wanted, and left the rest up to me, wanting to be surprised on our wedding day. Icing on the ring was the first place I ventured to. My first visit was a great experience and Ani was very helpful and knowledgeable. I told her I wanted a two-toned ring (white gold/rose gold) and a 6.5mm band width. I picked out 6mm white gold ring I liked, and she said they can custom make it to tailor to all my specifications (with no extra charge). She even offered me $50 discount for attending a bridal convention they participated in. Awesome! After that initial visit, I shopped around a bit more, but ended up back here due to the great pricing & customization options. I dealt with Raffi & Vic on other occasions, and they were very courteous as well. I LOVE the way his ring turned out, my now husband loves it as well :)

I originally found Icing on the Ring on Yelp and headed down to the Diamond district. This was the second shop we went in and it was perfect. The staff was extremely helpful and my now husband and I designed a spectacular non-traditional ring with their help. It's so beautiful! We also purchased our bands there. The only thing I will say is if they give you a timeline, follow up with them as they do get busy. I still give them 5 stars for quality, service and value!

What a wonderful experience we had at Icing on the Ring. We traveled to the LA Jewelry District just to buy a ring. We spend hours online trying to do our homework and research, and one place that we had circled was Icing on the Ring. After spending a few hours in one of the Marts, we both felt over whelmed. We then went into two different independent jewelers and another mart, but nothing got our attention, in fact most places just had a cheap vibe to them. We both kept saying that we needed to find Icing on the Ring, and when we found it and walked in; we both looked at each other and said this is the place! The staff was very knowledgeable and courteous, and the store itself had a very calm and soothing atmosphere. With that, we found the band of her dream and a wonderful diamond for a great price.

Before going engagement ring shopping I tried to study up on diamonds by reading articles online. I learned some of the basics but couldn't fully comprehend what I was reading until actually looking at the diamonds. I tried several shops in the jewelry district and some of the bigger chains as well, and by far this place was the best for me. Vic was very nice guiding me through each step and showing differences stone by stone under magnification and another magnifier that could be seen on computer screen. They were not pushy at all in trying to make the sale, he was more informative in telling me all they had to offer and letting me decide on my own. I came by a second time with an appointment and he had even more diamonds for me to look at under my parameters, so make an appointment. After shopping around I bought the engagement ring from here and came back for our wedding rings. They have an excellent warranty, and excellent service.

We went to this place because we got a coupon in the mail and heard that the LA jewelry district had great prices. We got a GREAT deal on our wedding bands and the staff there was great! She was patient (as I took forever to decide) and was honest with the items we were looking at. I would definitely go back here for future jewelry purchases!

My husband and I decided to go the jewelry district to look for our wedding bands. Upon arriving, we were completely overwhelmed by the countless options. Icing on the Ring was recommended to us, so we decided to go their first. Right when we walked through the door we were immediately greeted and helped. The lady who helped us was so knowledgeable and helpful and with the wide variety of styles my husband was more than okay to buy our rings here (which is a big deal considering he likes to weigh all of his options before making a decision). She was extremely patient when helping my husband find a ring that was perfect for him since he is not one to wear jewelry. She also did an excellent job helping me find a band that went perfectly with my engagement ring (which was not from there). Icing on the Ring provided excellent service, and we absolutely love our rings!!

We shopped around and found no one who came close to IOTR. Their knowledge and service were unmatched. I was nervous about the whole process but Raffi and Ani made it so easy and comfortable, and answered all of our questions without pushing with the hard sell that so many others did. I had a low budget and know nothing about jewelry, but they did not blow us off or make me feel stupid and taken advantage of like all the others did. They got us exactly what we wanted and well within my meager budget. I still can't believe that I got such a beautiful ring at such a reasonable price, and it has a lifetime warranty to boot. My fiance absolutely loves it and we will definitely be back for our wedding bands. Icing on the ring was a flawless experience. I did my recearch and decided not to go with the traditional jeweler and pay retail prices. My girlfriend and I shopped some high end stores and she picked out the ring she wanted. Icing was able to replicate it and even recommend some slight changes to better the ring, while not changing the look. They then made a clay model for my approval after some computer generated 3D photos. They also allowed me to supply my own center stone. I drove out from Arizona to approve the model and it was a smooth transaction all the way through. Vic was so helpful and answered all my questions over the phone and through emails. To top it off, because I ran out of time and was about to leave for Europe with my soon to be, Vic offered and met with me in Whittier so that I could avoid the la traffic and missing my grandfathers unexpected funeral. The ring turned out better than I could have hopped. Better than the one we looked at in the high priced stores, and at a price I would have paid more for, had I known how perfect it would have turned out! I will be returning to icing on the ring for my ring and the wedding band, with a very big smile on my face......and I'm a hard azz when it comes to parting with my money!

Not very good service. I drove to LA from San Diego to buy my wedding ring. The service was fine no issues got my finger sized, paid in full and arranged to have it delivered to me. They said I should've had it by a certain date. After that date passed I called and they hadn't even entered my order with my wedding only a month away!! They said "oh you never gave us your ring size." Which isn't too big of a deal, but they were never going to contact me about it! I called back a weak later to confirm and they still hadn't entered my order!! Not very hard to do.

We both both of our wedding bands here and couldn't be happier. Not only are their prices amazing, but the service was very personal. The help we got was very useful as there is a huge selection, they gave many ideas and provide experience and knowledge about their products. We will definitely be going back for other rings and diamonds.

My fiance and I purchased our wedding bands here. Their selection is ENORMOUS and sooo beautiful. The jeweler's sons and daughters all work there and it's just a great atmosphere. If I had to say anything bad about this place it would be that my wedding band was missing a diamond. HOWEVER, it wasn't really that bad because I took it back the next weekend and they apologized profusely and fixed it while I waited! They couldn't have handled it better. There are soooo many stores in the jewelry district but I definitely recommend this place above any!

The staff was extremely professional & knowledgeable. They helped me select the diamond & ring design to my taste & within my budget. I ended up buying a cushion-cut diamond in halo design, and I've been getting so many compliments everywhere I go on how beautiful the rock looks!

I honestly hate writing reviews, but IOTR deserves kudos for what they offer and produce. Not only will they design the ideal ring for you but they also build a lasting relationship. We purchased the engagement ring and wedding bands from IOTR and they made every process painless. Even when I had to exchange my wedding band for a larger size, it was a smooth experience.

They were amazing. They stayed within my budget and got me what I wanted. They were not trying to push me into the next expensive thing and were straight forward with everything. This family is nothing short of amazing. Without going into all of the specifics, my wife's engagement ring was handcrafted, made in house, and set with a beautiful diamond that I chose myself. The customer service is top notch and the ring is impeccable. We also bought our wedding bands from IOTR because the family that runs the business is just such a pleasure to work with. This is the first and only jewelwer my then fiance and I went to to shop for our wedding bands. If you are on the email chain through any wedding website such as theknot.com or weddingwire.com, you will occasionally receive a 20% off coupon from this vendor. I received one by email several months before my wedding and decided to check them out. I was not disappointed. The staff was very attentive and helped find a matching wedding band for my engagement ring. On the first try, he got it right on the nail. They have a pretty large selection of bands for men as well - my husband was able to find one that he liked rather quickly. Since he got a titanium ring, they offer lifetime resizing (not that he'll ever need it but it's nice to know it's there). After the 20% discount, both our rings came out to $1K plus some change. It was a fantastic deal and I highly recommend them! The one downside is that they are located in the jewelry district in LA which has very limited parking. If you park in Pershing Square, they will validate for you so that's another plus. Definitely a must for all future brides and grooms shopping for rings!
