I have had a great experience here at the ICON. Management and maintenance are both incredibly responsive and helpful when needed. I have lived in numerous other apartment complexes in the past and this has by far been the best experience of th...
em all. I plan to renew my lease and would highly recommend anyone looking to live in the Hampden area.

10/10. I would definitely recommend to anyone moving to Baltimore to live at Icon. The building is beautiful with top notch amenities, from the pool to the gym to the courtyard with grilling stations and the neighboring restaurants and shops — ...
it was an absolutely wonderful place to live at and to host friends and gatherings. The apartment unit itself was in excellent condition and with a very thoughtful floor plan and private balcony with a picturesque view (photo included). All of the staff members are extremely professional, responsive to any inquiries, kind, and accommodating. The environment is friendly and inviting. The Hampden neighborhood is walkable, quiet, and safe and is in a great central location, about a 10-15 minute drive to downtown Baltimore and a 15 minute drive to Towson. I will miss living here and I am thankful to have gotten a chance to call Icon home!

I’ve been living at the Icon for over three years. I’ve summarized my general experience below by section. Overall, it’s a fantastic place to live. Highly recommend!
Amenities
- There is a gym inside with all of the essential work out equipmen...
t. There is always a machine available even during the morning rush.
- There is a pool which is open during the summer months.
- There is a rec room which you can reserve as a social space for special events
- There are few study rooms as well which are great for students
- There is a pretty good coffee machine but it seems to be broken quite often
Building Staff
The building staff are very nice and personable. If you have any issue there is always someone at the front desk to field your questions. You can tell that some things they just don’t have control over like noise levels from outside and the fire alarm system that seems to go off more than normal. If they are able to help they do.
Lease Negotiations
Rent seems to go up every year and they aren’t willing to negotiate at all. They are also not willing to change any part of the lease. It’s basically take it or leave it!
Location
If you are looking to move into an apartment complex then I don’t think you can beat the location. You can walk to 36th street in 5-7 min depending on how fast you walk, and there are a lot of great businesses in the rotunda itself including Mom’s organic market, a bunch of places to grab a quick bite and more recently a movie theatre.
Maintenance
It is very easy to put in a request online and they usually have somebody available to fix your maintenance request either same day or next day.
Noise Levels
This is probably my biggest complaint about the Icon. However, you may be able to avoid this problem by carefully choosing your apartment unit. I live in a unit facing the loop and the noise coming in from the windows is just terrible. Every time a delivery truck is backing up, you can hear the backing up beeping noise blaring into your ear. Sometimes it wakes me up in the morning! Until the Icon installs windows with better noise reduction for Loop facing apartments, I’d highly advise against picking a loop facing unit.
Parking
There are two parking garages. One is open to the public as well as residents and is the garage in the rotunda. The other garage is open only to residents and is on Elm Avenue. This option to choose between garages is fantastic especially considering that the road condition on Elm ave. right now is atrocious. (Hopefully being fixed soon!)
There are also around 9 level 2 electric chargers in the rotunda garage and around 6 level 1 (trickle charge) electric chargers in the elm ave. garage. Great if you have a hybrid or electric car.
Pet Friendly
Lots of great places to walk the dog around Hampden and there is also a very nice dog washing station in the apartment.

Overall I’ve had a great experience living at the ICON. It is clean and quiet with good insulation. The maintenance response time is also fantastic! Management has overall been responsive and gives notice for general events and maintenance that...
may be happening. The location is convenient to the avenue. I wish the pool open longer and I had some issues with the security deposit when I was changing units, but I can’t complain too much considering how satisfied I’ve been.

The environment is good, but the price increases so much almost 20% for renewal. I have been transferred due to the problem of my previous renter, but I am not satisfied with the current unit so I want to transfer. However, the prices increase ...
$100 one day after I reviewed the availability and I do not have any compensation for the last transferring from 5th floor to 3rd floor... It is just a $75 parking fee waiver during my current leasing period. Also, they require 60-days notice for cancellation or they will automatically renew for next 12-months which is unfair. I know apartment do have the period of notice but I did not expect that they will auto renew for a whole year... with a 20% rent fee increasing...
