Where do I begin…. Sandy, although very nice, did not have a clue on what she was doing. I hired her to plan my 1st baby shower and gave her a budget of $1500 for a winter wonderland theme. Instead of saying that the theme was out of budget, she accepted the job. Every time we spoke, I set up the meetings and gave ideas because Sandy was trying to rent snow machines for half the budget and didn’t give any alternative ideas. After speaking several times, Sandy confirmed that she took all ideas into consideration and would have the winter wonderland baby shower completed. The day before the baby shower, Sandy sent an invoice for $2200. This was over budget and not communicated. Sandy also used most of the budget for chairs, plastic ware, and tables. When we arrived the day of the event, Sandy was late setting up. The event started at 4pm. Sandy didn’t finish setting up until 6pm. She also had our family and friends running around helping her complete the set up. She did not have a staff as she stated. She also had the father of her child bring the center pieces at 6:30pm when the event was over at 7. We had to pay the dj for an extra hour and request that Sandy extend the space rental an hour due to her late set up. The baby shower only had balloon garland chairs and tables. Sandy did not incorporate any of our ideas and the baby shower was NOT winter wonderland at all! This was a nightmare and not what I expected. Sandy provided a refund for the center pieces after we threatened her with civil action. I do not recommend this company at all. Unprofessional and not qualified to plan your event.
Sandy Bell was fired 38 days before my wedding. She is a nice person but a lackluster wedding planner. She is very unprofessional (brought her children to multiple meetings and was late to majority of meetings). She does not address the details (my new planner addressed stationary, chargers and flat wear. She communicated a wedding cake change to the baker that Sandy claimed she had done. She secured my soloist, which Sandy could not seem to do. She completely redid my florals and wedding decor which Sandy barely assisted me with-she had her baby at that particular meeting and excused herself multiple times). I paid for partial wedding planning and she is cheaper than other planners (interviewed several after firing her) but you get what you pay for. I asked for a refund of the 50% I paid to secure her services and she would not give my money back, so I ended up paying Sandy and the actual planner who “planned” my wedding. On a positive note, Sandy suggested my florist, baker and DJ, whom were all great!
