My experience with Indigo Hall was absolutely amazing…I was stressed out about finding a location that had an urban loft feel (wood floors, exposed brick, etc.) without having the ...large expense of some of the mill venues in Greenville, and this place was the perfect compromise between my vision and cost limitations. Additionally, Jennifer was extremely helpful and was always willing to work out times that I could see the venue to ensure that I was familiar with it. I live and work in Greenville, so it was difficult for me to try and get over to Indigo Hall during Jennifer’s hours, but she was always willing to stay behind to let me in or find someone else who could do so. She was also very helpful in providing feedback for the way I chose to have the ceremony/reception areas set up, and since she has done this many times before, she had great suggestions for what might help the areas look a little better after I sent her my initial plans for set-up.
Since we were having both the ceremony and reception at Indigo Hall, we chose to use both halls (there is an “upper hall” and a “lower hall”). Although this was more expensive than just using the lower hall alone, I am very glad we did. I had the ceremony in the lower hall and was able to have my grand entrance to the ceremony using the staircase from the upper hall (which I would not have been able to do if someone else had rented the upper hall/garden area). Additionally, we were able to have the venue set up so that the upper hall could be used for the main reception area which enabled my caterer to use the kitchen upstairs and have the food ready to go by the time the ceremony ended (the lower hall also has a kitchen, so this allows for a lot of flexibility with what you choose to do).
The base price for Indigo Hall includes tables and garden chairs (which cuts back on rental costs if you do not have strong preferences for a specific type of chair – we only had to rent tablecloths when we were considering seating arrangements). Additionally, Jennifer and her team do the chair and table set-up based on any plans you send them, which makes it a lot easier on anybody who is completing the set-up process. That being said, if you have extensive decorations for the halls, make sure that whoever is setting those up has enough help to get the decorations to the halls and set them up (since the one drawback of this venue is you have to set-up the day of your event – unless you potentially don’t mind paying extra fees).
