Great location and incredibly friendly staff. My husband and I had our wedding here on the Sunset Terrace and the reception in the Tesuque Ballroom.
Things that could have gone better:
#1- Rooms were beautiful but old, I was getting ready (wedding day) in our suite but if you tried to use a blow dryer and ANYTHING else, the power would go out.
#2 - AVOID the sunset terrace for your ceremony, $600 worth of flowers were destroyed by the wind and the DJ had major technical issues getting set up out there which delayed our ceremony 20 min, at which point it was on the verge of raining... no good.
#3 - The Tesuque ballroom was beautiful! I only wish the staff had done a better job with coordinating the lighting, they left the chandelier on low and the surrounding lights on high, we repeatedly had to ask them to change it which they failed to do.
#4 - The chocolate fountain was SO LOUD!, one of my guests had the good sense to get up an turn it off during speeches.
Things that went well:
#1- Lesley was incredible, she obviously has a passion for what she does and it really shows in her work. She went above a beyond and deserves whatever they pay her and more. If it weren't for her, I'd have canceled the contracts, paid whatever I had to and gone somewhere else.
#2- The massage I got at the spa was OUT OF THIS WORLD good. Well worth it and I recommend anyone to go, at least once.
#3- Unbeatable location and super artsy feel. The look of the place was incredible and it was a great vibe for us and our guests.
Overall it was "ok+", food was not great (for the price $$$) and coordination needs work. If you're paying top dollar (which we did) you expect more. Also, they failed to tell me until after we signed that there was another wedding/reception the same day, not that it caused much of a problem, but it would have been good to know.
The Inn and Spa at Loretto was the perfect spot for our wedding reception since we got married in the Loretto Chapel which is attached to the Inn and Spa! We had a rocky start with our coordinator due to her lack of communication and leaving the hotel. However, Leah was brilliant to step in and help us through the remainder of the planning. When we met with Leah to go over everything for the reception and catch her up to speed-she was a true delight! She assured us her and her staff would take care of everything and it would all be exactly what we wanted!
After the rocky start, everyone who was involved in the reception was fantastic!! From Leah genuinely being so happy for us to the banquet captain checking if there was anything we needed, and the servers!!! They were all attentive and caring to us and our guests!! The most important thing-the food! It was ABSOLUTELY LOVELY!! Every course just kept getting better and better! Everyone still can't stop raving abut how delicious the food was-from the hors d'oeuvres to the main course!
Many thanks,
Donncha & Alisha O'Donovan
We desperately wanted this to be our reception venue. We looked at the space, fell in love, negotiated a payment and right before we received the contract, we were informed that the room--in the week between us looking at the space and signing a contact-- was booked by someone else. They never called us to tell us someone was interested. This is despite us saying we wanted the space right after looking at it and communicating with the event services manager almost daily for five days . I even was willing to move the date around, but was informed the other Saturdays' surrounding the date were also booked. About a month later, a manager found out what happened and said she could try and fix the situation but it was unsurprising- given everything we had been through with them - when she couldn’t do anything about it. The Loretto Spa and Inn is a beautiful venue and probably a perfect place to have a wedding, but our experience on a customer service-level was really awful. Bring a pen and a lawyer with you on your first visit if you want to have your wedding there.
This place was perfect. The food was amazing, and the hotel and ballrooms are beyond beautiful. They were wonderful in helping us get everything we wanted for our day. We were scheduled for a cocktail hour on the sunset terrace, but due to a hail storm it had to be moved inside. They were right on top of things, and everyone was able to enjoy cocktails and apps safe from the rain. Great place to stay as well.
We expected a wedding at The Inn and Spa at Loretto to be insanely expensive, but it was really competitive with the other 'affordable' venues in town. The value was great and I felt like the staff really wanted my day to be as special as I wanted it to be. Vickie was always available at a moments notice to help me though those 'bridezilla freak outs,' and she really went above and beyond to ensure that my day was as stress free as possible. The food was great and I felt like the staff really listened to what I had to say- they made sure that all my requests about the food/drinks/service were met. They even changed their pre-set menu because I requested it. The event space is beautiful and one of the reasons we selected it is because it doesn't need a lot of extra decorating. Our wedding day was perfect and it was smooth sailing thanks to the Inn and Spa at Loretto.
We requested the "New Mexican" buffet for our wedding reception. I was blown away by the food, especially the green chile and cheese enchiladas. I wish I could have scarfed down more, but I had to get on the dance floor. If you have the chance, you must try the sangria too. Divine!
WONDERFUL venue! Vickie worked with us on every aspect of the day, and coordinated above and beyond what we thought she was going to do. She was fast to answer questions, and her backup plan when weather didn't quite work for us was flawless.
We were so very thrilled to have had our wedding reception at the Inn at Loretto. What an incredible venue, made even more wonderful by the banquet and catering staff and the on-site planners, Caroline and Vicky. These ladies went out of their way to suggest vendors, research linen colors and communicate with Mark at the Loretto Chapel (also wonderful, btw!). A month before the wedding, my Mom and I flew in and Vicky & Caroline arranged for a tasting and a tour of the property. They allowed us time to meet with our vendors there at the resort, which made life sooo much easier! The ladies made sure our guests found their way to the reception by walking them there themselves and flawlessly choreographed the entire day. We had full use of the Hopi boardroom, which was a great place for the girls of the wedding party to enjoy mimosas while getting our hair and makeup done. Planning was a breeze at Caroline and Vicky and we're so very grateful!!
