We used this hotel for a room block on wedding night. Everything was great. They knew myself and bridesmaids were getting ready in a suite and stopped in a few times to make sure we had everything we needed. They were very helpful with assisting guests with booking under the room block when our block began to fill up fast!
Unfortunately, we had the most horrible experience with management. We booked a suite for two nights, the night before our wedding and our wedding night. We were all set up to have hair and make up take care of the bridal party there and were so looking forward to staying here. We made a reservation in October for an April wedding. About 40 days before our wedding we received a call that our reservation was being canceled for a “bigger group.” We were floored. Come to find out, the manager who made the decision was not even the one calling us nor did he/she give us the courtesy of even calling us back, the only person who would speak to us was the young kid at the front desk. Presently we have not even been contacted regarding how we will get our refund. Under no circumstances would I recommend this hotel.
I was married at St Clements Castle in Portland - we used the Inn at Middletown for an after-party and accommodation for ourselves and about 15-20 guests. I would describe our experience as outstanding. The bar was especially accommodating - they knew we’d all be arriving around 12:45am and the bartender was ready to serve and also let us stay until the latest he legally could. I felt completely supported by this hotel and I would highly recommend them!
Any questions?
My wedding was in Middlefield but I chose Inn at Middletown due to it's location and that I think it's definitely the most attractive hotel in the area. The Sales Manger, Rachael, was extremely responsive throughout the entire process. I was constantly asking for updates on our room block and she always provided them within 24 hours. They were organized and everything went smoothly on the wedding day.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was due to changes they made to our hotel rate. We initially only booked 25 or so rooms and quickly realized that we needed more, so we kept increasing (months in advance of the wedding). When making our last increase, from 35 to 50 rooms or so, I was told they were increasing the price of the room rate that was in our contract. I asked why and was told it was because the hotel was almost at capacity. The confusing thing here is that we literally filled half the hotel, and then are basically being penalized for them being at capacity. I understand there are other people booking rooms, but we actually had HALF of them! My understanding is this came from the front desk manager, who I never got to speak to directly, but was told he/she was unwilling to change their mind on the increase despite my issue with it. Many other hotels give you free upgrades for every 10 or so rooms booked, this one did not provide that either.
We used the Inn at Middletown for our out of town guest accommodations, wedding after party, and post-wedding breakfast. Gabby, their Sales Coordinator, was extremely accessible and responsive to all of my questions from booking to final details. The rooms were recently renovated and the bridal suite was perfect for getting ready and bridal portraits on our wedding day. The food at the after party and breakfast was delicious and exactly what we were looking for to provide our out of town guests with a memorable wedding weekend.
We used the Inn at Middletown for accommodations for out of town guests, as well an as after party and post-wedding brunch! All of the staff, especially Gabby and Katelin, were helpful and quick to respond. The rooms were beautiful, the food was delicious, and the staff professional and friendly! So many of our guests commented on how lovely the hotel is and how much they enjoyed their stay. I highly recommend using the Inn at Middletown for your wedding!
We worked with Katelin to book our wedding block and morning after brunch. She was extremely accommodating and responsive to all our inquires. Many of our guests came from out of town (we had ~40 rooms there) and the staff were very friendly and made everyone feel right at home. They were also helpful in making our transportation go smoothly (we had 2 coach size busses for our guests). Having the Tavern downstairs was super convenient for the after-party. The brunch food was SUPERB! Thank you Inn at Middletown and Katelin for making our weekend so special!
Hotel rooms were awesome and super comfy (not used to a king sized bed!!). The next morning we had a breakfast for the guests that stayed over and the food was pretty good. The food at the tavern in the Inn is AMAZING. We've eaten there a few times just because its yummy
Inn at Middletown was super accommodating. They were very organized through the entire process.
The day of the wedding, they did their best to get rooms ready and let people check in early. We had an informal after party in the lobby bar and the staff was so nice and excited for us.
The rooms were wonderful- overall, great experience.
I truly can't say enough good things about the Inn at Middletown. I used the Inn for guest accomodations, bridal suite, rehearsal dinner, and brunch for my 9/20/14 wedding. The staff all went above and beyond, and truly made us and all of our guests feel amazing. They were so personable, helpful, and willing to do whatever it took to make your experience a great one! It was definitely an upscale experience you wouldn't get at a chain. For our food events, the staff was all great and the food was amazing. I would highly recommend using the Inn at Middletown when having a wedding nearby-- it truly helped make our wedding experience even better.
The Inn at Middletown was a pleasure to work with in creating a room block for our wedding guests. They were very helpful in meeting our needs which included increasing our room block a couple of times and setting up late night snacks in the bar for after the wedding. The staff was very helpful throughout the entire process, from the many requested rooming lists to ensure enough rooms, to transporting guest luggage to guest rooms. The rooms were very clean and comfortable for all our hotel guests, and the Presidential Parlor was perfect for the bride and bridesmaids to prepare and get ready before the wedding. The hotel has many restaurants and bars nearby for food and drink at any time, and Rite Aid next door was perfect for any last minute needs or forgotten items.
My husband and I, as well as all of our overnight guests, stayed at the Inn. The staff was great and the rooms were clean. My uncle forgot his belt and one employee overheard this and offered up his own belt! My uncle took advantage of this and returned the belt the following day! I couldn't believe how great and helpful everyone was. Definitely use this hotel for guests!
This was the perfect choice for our guests and the wedding party to stay at before/after the wedding! Great room, perfect location for our venues. Mary Anne the Catering Director super accomodating and responsive to various requests over a few months! Surprised us on our wedding night with Champagne and chocolate covered strawberries! Awesome!
