Maria and Nina did a wonderful job as our "month of" wedding planners! Even though they were "month of," they still met with us and guided us far in advance of the month of the wedding. We had a destination wedding with a good sized international crowd and since we were restricted to travel during the planning process, we decided it was best to go for a planner. Maria is an amazing wedding planner and we were so fortunate to have her as a part of our wedding team. I truly could not have done it without her. My daughter is a Covid bride and Maria helped us plan the wedding three different times and moved the venue four times. Throughout everything she was always helpful and calm. Her organizational skills are unmatched. I don’t live in New Orleans, and Maria was always available to meet with me at my convenience when I came to town. Maria was absolutely great. She helped with the timeline for the wedding and contacting all the vendors the month leading up to the wedding. Our main person at the venue that did the day of coordination was not very good. We would have been lost without Maria.

Maria and her team were amazing! I actually had a bad experience with another planner and so she came in after I fired him. The difference between Maria and the other planner was night and day. She did my decor and month of planning. She has great taste and is passionate about what she does; she’s definitely committed to the event being the best possible experience in all ways, beyond just getting paid or doing the minimum. She is a very organized planner with an eye for detail. She doesn’t impose her preferences but listens to what you want. She had a flat rate charge, which is nice because some planners try to manipulate costs so they can make more money. Everyone kept saying it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to. Two members of her team, Angelle and Emily, were there to support me day of and were really nice and on top of everything; they even helped me get a stain out of my dress, which would be been a nightmare without them. All my bridesmaids liked them. I can’t recommend Innola highly enough!

I can’t say enough about Maria and her team of professionals. Organized, observant, intuitive, punctual, patient, knowledgeable, dedicated, hard-working, unobtrusive but always on hand. As an out-of-town mother of the groom, Maria went out of her way to provide on-site, skilled, nuanced help to me—even though she was hired by the bride! She is unflappable, and I needed her so much thanks to Covid changes and restrictions. She put out at least 1 fire a day! Instantly “gets” your vision. Answered EVERY text. I’m not sure this woman sleeps! Allowed me to seek her help rather than have to bother the NOLA bride’s family. I’m going to miss my daily interactions with this group. They made our wedding weekend stress-free, luxurious, and seamless.

She was there from beginning to end and gave my family the most perfect and beautiful wedding. She takes care of it all with such poise and grace. My third daughter was married in New Orleans at the end of last year. Since it was my third wedding to co-create, I wasn’t 100% sure we needed a Wedding Planner. I was quickly disabused of that logic. You need a Wedding Planner!! Especially if the wedding is “destination.” Even if it’s just for the month of the event - no matter how creative you are. I’m sure a lot of the reviews have covered how calm and professional Maria is. Her attention to detail was unparalleled. But, one thing I especially appreciated was the fluidity of her packages and pricing. By the time I realized I needed her, I had done a lot of the legwork (or so I thought - there is soooo much to do!) I hired her for one month out. In hindsight, I wish I’d had her on board the entire time because I truly believe she would’ve saved me the money I spent paying her. So, no matter where you are in your planning process, it’s not to late to bring her on. She is amazing and by the end of our wedding, we felt like Maria and her staff were family members. Our enormous event was entirely flawless. There was literally not one mistake. We could've never pulled that off without her. Nor would we have wanted to.

Marie was a positive calming influence who gave us support and direction with all the decision making. She contacted all of our vendors to confirm the details for our wedding day and provided everyone with a detailed timeline of events for the day. It was awesome seeing this timeline, brings a smile to my face. After seeing the timeline, I knew that everything was going to be perfect and that we hired the best wedding planner. On the wedding day we had 12 plus bridesmaids at my home getting ready, it was a house full to say the least. However, when Maria and her staff walked into my home I felt a sense of peace and calmness. I cried just seeing her walk in the door. I knew she had everything under control and everything was going to be handled to perfection. She portrays elegance, confidence, grace, poise and calmness but yet in full control of the situation. It was magnificent to watch unfold. Following the reception she and her staff took control gathering everything from the venue and delivering to our home. They did everything. I was the mother of the groom. Although I did not personally meet Maria until the wedding day, my daughter-in-law kept me informed of the wedding planning along the way. She always mentioned something Maria had done. When I met Maria on the day of the wedding I was very impressed with her professionalism. She prepared a schedule for the day and made everyone stick to it. This was not a bad thing. Organization is necessary on wedding day to make everything flow flawlessly. Choosing Maria with InNOLA Events was hands down THE BEST decision I have made for my wedding, next to choosing my Husband. There is absolutely no way I could have survived without her. I was so excited when my daughter became engaged last year and looked forward to helping her plan her New Orleans wedding. My sister and I made our first visit shortly thereafter and realized by mid-afternoon that there was no way for us to be successful since we lived 6 hours away in Auburn, AL. We were going to need help! So, we interviewed wedding planners—one was too young, one was too “veteran”, but one was just right—Maria Maginnis. She is very attractive, impeccably dressed, with a calm and gracious but commanding manner, old enough to demand respect but young enough to relate to my thirty-year old daughter. Maria turned what could have been cause for great tension between my daughter and me into one of the most unforgettable experiences for me, my family, and all of our guests. Her design ability helped my daughter’s vision of her wedding become a reality. She had great patience with my daughter who is an attorney with a large New Orleans firm and who works long hours. She kept me informed of decisions and tasks that needed to be accomplished via email and sometimes telephone. She was able to keep the “planner” in me happy because she responded to my many questions almost immediately. The day of the wedding, I can honestly say, I was calm and could thoroughly enjoy the joyous celebration because Maria was there, orchestrating the event in her calm and gracious manner. I chuckle when I remember her “herding” the two families toward the picture venue. It was like herding cats; but she did it efficiently and gently. Maria was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! Our wedding in New Orleans was a destination wedding - we live in Canada. She kept us informed and even Facetimed us into venues when we needed it. She was always responsive and in touch - and even let us ship some of our decor to her office since we live out of the country! I am a very particular person and everything was perfect, from favours to table to design to little things I didn't even think about. We had 90 guests fly in from 8 countries so I was worried about logistics but Maria and her team thought of everything. When we decided last minute we DID want a second line 2 months before the wedding, she made it happen (working around the St Patrick's Day parade that was the same day as our wedding). On top of being professional and prepared she is just the sweetest and most capable person. You will not regret hiring InNOLA for your event.

We were able to actually enjoy our wedding day, and most importantly, our reception. She took the time and really got to know us as a couple which means so much to know we aren't just another client to her. Even though we have been married 4 months, Maria still checks in with us. My advice for new brides is to do yourself a favor and get yourself a wedding planner, and not just any planner. If you are getting married in 2018, you need Maria Maginnis to be your planner. She will make your special day the best day ever!!!!

As the maid of honor for the wedding, I can say Maria was a godsend! Her personality was infectious, and made me excited to be apart of the wedding. She was instrumental in helping reign in wedding details, and was always available via email or phone to assist me as the maid of honor. When traveling to New Orleans to assist the bride and groom, she was there to pick me up from the airport and take me to all the appointments. Maria and her team are the ultimate wedding plan dream. They made my destination wedding a stress-free and beautiful time for our guests and myself. Not only did her amazing expertise ensure my perfect New Orleans wedding, she was instrumental in setting up our rehearsal dinner. Maria ensured my bridezilla moments were efficiently diffused and minimized by her quick responses to any of my questions and crazy requests. Now that I look back on it, I can say that I was a little over the top. Maria never made me feel that I was asking too much- she delivered everything I asked and more with true southern charm and professionalism. I wanted an outdoor ceremony with all the frills- burlap wraps on ALL chairs, flower petals with arrangements and signs down the aisle, chandeliers, etc… Despite prayers and burying of bourbon bottles (southern tradition to ward off bad weather), it was raining on my wedding day. It actually stopped raining 30 minutes prior to me walking down the aisle- and they pulled it off!! Pictures are worth a thousand words- Maria did an amazing job! There are too many things to say that this amazing woman did to make sure that everything went well. But, I will not bore you with all the things that she did to make sure that my wedding day went off smooth- that is to be expected since that is her job. What really stood out was all the extra stuff that I did not expect. For example, my husband was coming back from deployment 1 month prior to our wedding. I thought that we would be unable to have a traditional wedding cake tasting. Remember, I am out of town (actually on the west coast), and no bakery would wait to within 1 month of a wedding to get a contract. Maria pulled it off flawlessly. We had a fedex box the same week he arrived with so many cake samples that I was literally sick from all the sweet indulgence. I am so thankful for the days that we got to spend tasting all that cake and cream with each other. And to top it all off, the cake actually tasted better on the wedding day. I am so looking forward to my 1-year anniversary to eat the rest of that cake☺ Another thing was that she gave me an awesome gift- a true Southern cookbook. My husband and I love going through the recipes together. I am not a cook, but thankfully he is. The recipes range from dove to all kinds of southern beverages and desserts. I can’t reiterate how much we love this cookbook. Another thing, my mother-in-law and I made an impromptu visit to New Orleans to check out rehearsal dinner spots. Maria made it a point to be there for us. She chauffeured us around town to all the spots we thought we wanted and then we had lunch at a place she suggested. The lunch spot ended up being our rehearsal dinner location! She is a great listener and can find exactly what you want without shoving it down your throat. That is just one of the many endearing qualities about Maria. Overall, if you want the best wedding planner in the world… well at least New Orleans, then I 100% recommend Maria. She pulled off African Dancers, a caricature drawer, 2nd line, live band for the reception, 3-piece orchestra for the ceremony, signature drinks and a crazy bride without a hitch. She is such an amazing person that you will want to be her friend forever. I truly thank her for everything she did for me (us☺). Oh yeah, I forget to mention that my sister (maid of honor), found her for me after hours of research from Thailand. Yeah- she is that good…

Our party was fantastic! Maria was there every step of the way. She truly enjoys what she does and it shows. Maria knows how to plan an event so that everyone has a great time. She is incredibly kind and patient, and remembers all the details. And, perhaps most importantly, she makes the honoree feel like it is their day!

I am fortunate enough to have a husband who is a meticulous planner. With a few minor exceptions, he planned our entire wedding. Nearing the date, however, I realized that on the day of the wedding and the days leading up to it, I wanted everyone to relax completely - ESPECIALLY my husband, who had already done so much. That's where Maria came in. I called her one week before our wedding date. ONE. WEEK. Thankfully, she had availability. We discussed details of the wedding, and I sent her all of our vendor information. Not 24 hours later, Maria had contacted every single person and establishment associated with the wedding, had intimately familiarized herself with every aspect of our upcoming day, and had completely put my mind at ease. I knew from that moment that everything would run smoothly. The day before the wedding was the first time we met. Maria came to my hotel room to pick up decorations - suitcases full of custom napkins, second line handkerchiefs, etc. She is instantly calming and her efficiency is evident from the first time you speak with her. The day of the wedding, everything from arriving to the end of the day just flowed perfectly. Maria is a coordination ninja. From ceremony to first dance to party to dinner to cake cutting to second line to after party, everything was set up so perfectly and moved so seamlessly. She was able to do all of this for us with one week's notice, and I cannot even begin to imagine what she's capable of planning from start to finish. I adore this woman. She made the greatest day of my life one of the least stressful days of my life, and I think that is the most important factor to consider in selecting a wedding planner. If ANYONE is considering getting married in New Orleans, InNOLA is the only call you need to make.

Maria is absolutely fantastic! She is creative, resourceful, kind, a great listener and an absolute delight to work with. Maria is the BEST! From the moment we met I knew she could see exactly what I envisioned for my wedding. She was like an addition to the family on the day of and I wouldn't have had it any other way. She made sure everything was on time and made sure all the little things went off without a hitch. Maria and her crew saved my wedding from being a sopping wet mess. The rain came down and they were more than prepared to get me, my bridesmaids and the groom and groomsmen into the church without a drop of rain hitting us. Maria gave us the wedding of our dreams. I wanted a black, white, and pale pink classic/elegant wedding (kind of a Dior-inspired look), and Maria understood what I wanted from the start. She thought of everything from second line parasols to chandeliers to a beautiful draped chuppah (Jewish wedding canopy) to a black sequinned cover for our cake table (cake was white buttercream with a black fondant bow) to black and white gift bags with pink bows. Our guests told us again and again that it was the most beautiful and unique wedding they had ever been to. Maria has excellent referrals for flowers, cake, and other vendors, and she stays calm even in the face of chaos. Also, I think she is my mom's new best friend. Maria deserves the best review possible. I should start by saying that I planned my entire vision myself and had no intention of giving up any creative control. I figured I knew what I wanted and didnt need anyone else's input. Then a few weeks before the big day it started to become clear that I'm only one person and don't have nearly enough hands to make my vision come to life alone. I knew how I wanted my tables to look, but who was actually going to do the physical labor? I knew what I wanted my dessert bar to look like, but who would set up each cake stand and cupcake to look picture perfect? Who would make sure it looked like it did in my head? Enter my angel Maria. From the get-go her enthusiasm and "can do" attitude gave me full confidence that we would make a great team. She stepped in for my "day of" coordinating but really took weight off of my shoulders the whole week of. We talked, emailed, texted, shared photos, shared Pinterest boards, and it was like she just jumped in my head and saw my vision. On the day of, she kept all vendors in check and made sure every cupcake was perfect. Her and her team surpassed ANY expectations I ever had. To say "thank-you" isn't enough. For other bride-to-be's reading this, I can tell you this: even the most type-A, organized, control-freak bride only has two hands and two legs. First of all, I will say that our big day was, literally, P E R F E C T. Second of all, I will attribute most of that to Maria and her staff. When I began planning my wedding I thought, "this is no big deal. I plan engineering projects where people can die if you don't do it right; I'm going to be able to have this done in two weeks." How I laugh now at my naïveté! I did do a fair bit of leg work early on, but about 4 months out my mother decided we really did need a planner to pull off the party we had put together. (Mother very was right!) We had 125 people at the Elms Mansion, very old school, afternoon. I interviewed several planners in town, and found that many of them seemed to be 24 year olds who speak to potential clients in a valley girl voice--very annoying to me (I am in my early 30s and my husband in his late 30s, so no thank you). Maria was actually the first planner I spoke with, and I almost didn't even call any of the others, our conversation was so pleasant and professional and I could immediately tell she had a feel for me and the type of event I wanted the wedding to be. I did do my due diligence (mothers! :) ), but my instinct proved right. Maria is a well-connected, knowledgeable, organized planner, with a very positive can-do attitude no matter what is happening around her/me/the bride. She went over and above with anything I tasked her with--even getting a babysitter for my brothers' children for the rehearsal dinner. Our wedding was beautiful, many of the guests remarked that it "was probably the best wedding they'd ever been to" or "it was like watching a movie of a wedding." Maria was so helpful, so sweet, I could just go on and on...! Besides all the usual requirements in a planner, all of which she exceeds, I do want to remark on what a calming presence Maria brings to any situation. Whether it's the sometimes tedious but necessary checklists, or dramatic family members, she REALLY REALLY is like having a yogi by your side. And that went SO FAR during all stages of the planning and right through the big day. It even went so far as to make my now-husband feel more relaxed just knowing I'd have her with me during the most stressful parts. (He says this, but I think she chilled him out a lot too, wink wink!) I am a very no-drama personality, and weddings do seem to bring that out in a lot of people, so I just can't emphasize enough how valuable her spirit is during this time of life; the morning of my wedding I felt completely at ease, able to actually take in the day and focus on the main event--marrying my best friend/most wonderful man I've ever met. In my mind, if someone can allow you to have that on your wedding day, that person is pretty much priceless, and for me, that person was definitely Maria. My BIG DAY could not have been more perfect! We owe Maria and her staff the biggest thanks & are so grateful to have found her! My newlywed hubby & I are both “do it your self” type of people & thought that we could pull off a wedding party of 24 plus my 8 uncles & aunts, cousins, parents, extend family & a guest list of 200+ people! We also thought we would have been able to plan, organized set up & breakdown our own reception, which was held at our house Fleur De Lis Mansion Bed and Breakfast. It was a wonderful idea but we didn’t realize what we were getting ourselves into planning our own wedding at our own house. W/ Maria’s help & expertise advice she helped us realize that our wedding day is supposed to be special & relaxing & that there was already going to be so much going on, that we shouldn’t worry ourselves with getting things together day of & setting up & preparing things that could be taken care of by others. She helped us to understand the concept of delegation! Maria took the reins & laid everything out for us. She tied up all of our loose ends & covered everything that we over looked like air conditioning the tent! Could you imagine no A/C! HA! She also found us a one stop shop vendor that was right across the street from our house & we didn’t even know it! She hit the jack pot with this place because it was so close and they had everything we needed. Everything from tables, chairs, drapes, linens, centerpieces, chandeliers and even our flowers. She saved us a ton of money finding this place. I never would have checked there. She was always on top of things & two steps ahead. She composed a preliminary wedding schedule for us along with all the vendors & their contact info, which made it so easy for us to keep track of everyone. I would have been lost without her! Everything was planned out to a T. All the planning & preparation went so smoothly. She literally thought of everything! She knew I wanted to use ostrich feathers as my theme so she went & collected pictures of feathered decor & ideas for me to look at. I loved everything she picked. She found a pic. of this gorg. cake w/ ostrich feathers that I was obsessed w/! I used that pic to design my own cake & it came out beautifully! We had our ceremony at St. Louis Cathedral which is less than a mile from our B & B so she suggested a horse & carriage from the church back to the house! We absolutely loved that idea, so we got it! It was like a real live fairy tail! :) Picture perfect! She was full of wonderful ideas & was so helpful through out the entire process. We also had a champagne girl that was a hit! Everyone loved it! Good call Maria! I could go on and on! It was flawless & there is no way we could have pulled it off without her. She kept everyone on schedule the day of from start to finish. Making sure everyone was ready on time, she pinned flowers, organized transportation, made sure I had everything I needed for church. She kept Jimmy and I on schedule as soon as we arrived back at the house. She bustled my dress, switched veils, made sure we had food & champagne before our first dance! It was just absolutely perfect! Coming from a couple who was opposed to hiring a wedding planner at first, it was the best decision that we made.
