Our wedding was at the InterContinental on NYE 12/31/2019, and we are thrilled with our choice. The location was amazing -- close enough to walk to Bourbon Street but not TOO close to the rowdiness, as well as perfect distance from our church (Immaculate Conception) for our second line! And we were thrilled about the size and layout of the third floor: I didn't want our wedding to be cramped or for our guests to feel like they were on top of each other, and the size/layout of the InterContinental ballrooms was luxurious -- and I LOVE the high ceilings. (Even the bathrooms were spacious!) Lastly, Lindsey Rinaudo was SUCH an enormous help to us over our wedding weekend. By the time the wedding rolled around, I was tired of making decisions, and Lindsey really stepped up to help with coordinating our decor and making sure everything ran smoothly. I'm not kidding when I say that I basically left all decisions about where to put decor (things like mini Christmas trees, masks, lanterns with fairy lights, round gold ornaments, garland, etc) in her hands, and she knocked it out of the park, even though I don't know if that was part of her job. Not only did she determine where to put things and then set them up for us, she even printed out signs for us (like "WELCOME TO THE PARTY" and "PROHIBITION ENDS HERE, PLEASE GRAB A DRINK" in art deco style to match the 2020 Roaring Twenties feel) and put together a card box because I forgot. There were of course minor hiccups along the way, but I think that's to be expected for any party of this size, and it was still an overall amazing time. She (and the staff, including the bridal attendants!) went above and beyond making sure that the day of was absolutely perfect for my husband and me. I wish all of my friends would get married at the InterContinental New Orleans or that we could throw anniversary parties there every NYE!
We had our daughter’s wedding reception at the Hotel Intercontinental on December 22, 2018. It was beautiful. The ballroom is gorgeous, the food was delicious, and every attention to detail was carefully planned and taken care of for us. Isabella was very helpful and promptly answered our many questions. Everyone complimented us on how wonderful the reception was at the Hotel Intercontinental.
Great wedding venue! Was so happy to have our reception there!
My husband and I got married at the InterContinental in December 2018. After viewing all of the upscale wedding venues in the city, I chose the InterContinental because of its beautiful ballroom and the staff. From the time we viewed the ballroom (16 months out) to check out the day after the wedding, my family and I were impressed by the professionalism of the staff, particularly Isabella Finnell, the catering sales manager. During our tour, John Romano, the GM, made it a point to introduce himself to us. From the start, I knew we were in great hands and I was confident that the InterContinental team would make my big day a priority and not just any event.
The InterContinental provided excellent service throughout the entire wedding planning process. Isabella went above and beyond in making every detail of my wedding exquisite! She answered all of my questions, big and small, and she was consistently pleasant, upbeat, and professional. Since we dealt with the same person throughout, I was confident that no detail would be forgotten.
As for the hotel, the ballroom is breathtaking and truly a must-see. The staff is friendly and courteous. A Sunday wedding was booked for the day after mine but at no point did we feel like the hotel staff was spread too thin. The bridal suite is extremely spacious. We had 10 ladies getting hair and makeup done, 4 stylists, a photographer, and a videographer, and there was PLENTY of room. It even has a full-size fridge to stock with drinks and snacks.
The reception was perfect!!! We had almost 300 guests. The ballroom easily accommodated them along with a big band, dance floor, photo booth, live painter, etc. (Parts of the ballroom can be closed off for smaller weddings.) Everyone said how delicious the food was. Catering accommodated every request, even things like medium-well beef, a mashed potatoes bar, and a bananas foster action station. Isabella arranged for my husband and I to have a few minutes to ourselves to grab a bite to eat and sip champagne before we were announced at the reception, which was so nice. She was at the reception the whole time and personally made sure we were attended to all night. She even helped fix my bustle after a guest accidentally stepped on it!
We are SO happy we chose the InterContinental for our wedding reception! People are still telling us it was the most fun wedding they’ve been to!
Although I did not book a wedding with InterContinental New Orleans, I feel like the service I received when requesting additional information on the venue was terrible. From looking at the photos on this website, the venue is beautiful so I requested additional information. Instead of receiving information, I received a generic message stating that unfortunately they felt InterContinental New Orleans was not a good fit for me. Since my wedding date is flexible I asked why and was told their fees for my estimated number of guest would be more than my estimated budget the Knot. This is my first wedding so therefore I didn’t think I would be screened based off my estimated budget that isn’t set in stone. As a bride, I would rather receive the information, tour the facility, and ultimately make the decision to have my wedding there if it is available and I fall in love with it. Unfortunately, I wasn’t given that opportunity. It just seems very discriminating and bias to me. So if requesting information from this venue, please make sure you don’t have a budget listed or they will totally dismiss your request for information.
The Intercontinental is a beautiful venue. The ballroom is large with high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows on one wall. The ballroom connects to a large foyer that can be used as well. Isabella Finnell, catering sales manager, is your key to communication here. She made the process of choosing a venue and then carrying out our plan easy from beginning to end.
The food was delicious. The staff of the hotel was courteous and professional. The bridal suite is spacious and comfortable. All 11 bridesmaids, hair, make-up, and many drop-in guests spent the day here. There was plenty of room for all. Perfect!!
It is daunting to begin this review, as I have so many things to say and so many thanks to give. The InterContinental made this the wedding of my dreams! From the start, Isabella and her team were a dream. Randy, Vickie and Niki showed me the hotel and got my ideas rolling for how the wedding could be. Melisa was always ready to help with reservations for my family and friends. Isabella took note of every detail and made my dreams come true! The process of planning the reception and food were made easy and fun, and the ballroom with its high ceilings and gorgeous design sold me. Their spacious suites were just what I needed for my large bridal party. The location was perfect for my guests who don't often get to visit New Orleans! Salman and Erik managed to help our guests with everything, and the staff at Trenasse was welcoming and kept the party going every night for our guests. We loved meeting there each night, and they were patient with our large, admittedly loud group. Salman was so sweet to check on us each evening, treating my mother in law to some chocolate, assisting me with a literal airline headache and late checkout. Isabella and Katelyn and Brian went above and beyond at every turn. They made sure my husband and I were pampered, and made things happen that we didn't even know we would need! Not only did they arrange a private meal for us before the reception, but they packaged everything up for us in the blink of an eye so that nothing would be missing for us when we got back to our suite. Katelyn bustled my dress for me! Isabella even took a photo for us and put it in our room with a note, king cake, grilled cheese, snacks, and Italian soda- themed for our honeymoon! She took polaroids of all of our guests, and communicated with all of my vendors for me, and set up our reception decor. There are no words to describe how great she is. Housekeeping did a great job with the daunting task of cleaning up after a huge bridal party too. Dawn Pembo in Sales was also so kind to wish me a happy wedding day, and I've already booked to come back in April! If you're looking for a place to spend time with your family and celebrate a wedding, look no further. THIS IS IT! There are a thousand things I could share about how wonderful it was.
We booked rooms for ourselves and for our witnesses. The hotel was wonderful in accommodating us with an early check in so that I could get dressed for the wedding (it was being held outside in City Park). The staff at the hotel were all amazing and made our stay a great experience. As the "Wedding Staircase" was not being used that evening, we were able to take pictures on it which turned out absolutely beautiful!!!
Amazing food!!! Room decorations weren't my favorite, but the location was centrally located to the French Quarter and the staff was very attentive.
