I'On Chapel

My fiancee' and I decided to boost our wedding date and we picked the month of August 2021. We looked at over 20 venues being natives of Charleston we both knew we needed to stick to the budget. It was amazing that this venue was available and at such a great price for our Micro Wedding. We are super excited to have our wedding and ceremony there especially on a Sunday. The venue is gorgeous and Lauren and her team are super helpful.

What a beautiful venue! We had my daughters bridal shower brunch there and Lauren the venue manager couldn't have been nicer or more helpful! It was perfect and such a special day. I know they will be adding some furniture to a bridal room to make it even more beautiful, but its a perfect clean slate to get creative.

Sadly, my fiance and I had to cancel our wedding due to the entire COVID 19 Pandemic. Our reception venue had to cancel on us as they could not abide by the social distancing ordinance for our 25 guests. At this time, we can not reschedule as we are still currently living in a situation of uncertainty, and do not wish to put any of our guests at risk health wise. We provided more than a months notice prior to our cancellation. In light of the current extenuating circumstances, a full refund of our deposit would have been the right thing to do. Instead, our $500.00 deposit was kept. We have since followed up regarding the refundable $150.00 for cleaning expenses. Obviously, with no venue taking place, there was no clean-up. There has been no response from either Pam, or the owner of Ten Thousand Years, LLC. We are already deeply saddened by the fact that we had to cancel our wedding. Making no concessions, in light of the Pandemic, seems unjust. I would not ever recommend this venue in the future.

We had to cancel our reception due to covid-19. This was the only venue who refused to work with us on our deposit. I guess you get what you pay for. It was the most affordable place we could find anywhere. It had its short comings. The place was a bit dated inside and there appeared to be a lot of restrictions on things you could not do because of neighborhood complaints. Every other vendor gave us a full refund. We had scheduled a food truck for the reception and thought it would be nice to give back to local business by donating our deposit to the food truck, allowing them to use it to serve the local community on our reception date. Not only would Pam not refund or work with us, she flat out wouldn't respond. I'll be keeping a close eye on this venue for the day of our reception. As per their contract, they only issue refunds if the location is rebooked on our date. It's just a sad shame that during these times, they weren't willing to find a better solution. I would strongly suggest avoiding this location and read the contract carefully. The human factor means nothing to these people.

I cant say enough about my experience with Pam and how happy I was with our decision to have our wedding ceremony at the Ion Meeting House. Initially, we chose to look at this venue because of the cute, quaint neighborhood and as soon as we entered and saw how beautiful the inside of the building is we were sold. It feels very clean and symmetrical with tons of natural light. Its super plain so you can dress it up or keep it as is. For me, I fell in love with the simplicity of the space. The set up is perfect-it has a separate room in the back with bathrooms and storage space. As a bride, the location is very convenient as well-its across the street from an Inn and a few restaurants/Pub and next door is a salon- making the morning of my wedding very simple! We received a lot of feedback from guests on the beauty of the building and the convenience of parking as well. Working with Pam, was one of the few easy things about planning a wedding! She responded to emails and phone calls immediately. She always made herself available for me to "take another look" at the place for planning purposes. She worked well with my planner and was present for the rehearsal and ceremony serving as an invaluable resource. After working with Pam for months during the planning process, she'd become someone who my fiancé and I found a lot of comfort in. The night before our wedding, she gave us the BEST wedding advice we've gotten and its something we wont forget! Having developed a personal relationship with her, made the ceremony even more meaningful and the memories of the Ion Meeting House even sweeter. Having my ceremony at the Ion Meeting House is the best decisions I made when it comes to our wedding day and Id recommend it to anyone! (I haven't received my professional pictures back yet, but here are a few that I received from guests)

I’On Meeting House was the perfect ceremony site. It was intimate and quaint. It was the perfect size and beautiful inside. We did not feel like we had to overdecorate because the venue was so simple. You can do so much with the space. Pam was amazing to work with. She was always quick to respond and was willing to work with me and my husband’s limited availability. I highly recommend I’On Meeting House.
