month into signing the contract it became very evident that we were completely on our own. The “event planner” I use that word very loosely, scheduled 3 meetings only to collect the information needed for her to show up and have something to do. At the time of our tour we were never informed the event planner is basically a “day of coordinator.” So if you have a busy life style please know that you will be responsible for planning every single detail without the help of a planner. There’s no suggestions or assistance unless a question is posed during one of you planning meetings or you reach out directly. Most communications are only by email, no calls, no text, no availability to the planner outside of emails. When we showed up for our first meeting our planner was seated at a table in the reception space and didn’t bother standing to greet us. We weren’t prepared for half of the questions because an agenda isn’t provided for any of the meetings, only a pdf file. Our quotes with the florist took weeks to be sent to us. The day of the wedding our floral arch looked nothing like what we spoke with the florist about and we even gave her a inspo pic and said we want exactly this. The arch was practically bare and included florals that were not approved. For photography, We decided to upgrade to have an engagement shoot added on, but this is another example of figuring things out on your own. We had an idea of the style but it is entirely up to you to make arrangements for location, time, and any other details. Also be prepared to provide every single detail for every vendor, meaning inspo pics, and very specific information on what you want because they will ask and will not make any sort of proposals of their own. We also told the planner twice she had an incorrect number for us so when it was finally time to speak to our vendors it was difficult for them to contact us. After our second meeting with our planner we received an email that she was no longer working for the venue and someone else would be replacing her this too was communicated by email only. I was very concerned at this point considering we had gone over all of our details with one person and now a new person was expected to pick up where she left off and our wedding was weeks away. Our first meeting with her was supposed to be our final. The new planner reached out and set up a scheduled time for us to meet and did not join the meeting. Mins later we found she had sent an email about 13mins before stating she had internet issues due to the rain in the area, AGAIN no call but we rescheduled for the next day. The next day we were contacted by someone from the venue saying our planner was in a car accident but they would gather all the details for her. We had to insist that we wanted to meet with our planner since she would be the one their the day of. We decided to send her a very detailed document and she was completely lost and unprepared. For the dj, an app is sent to you where you provide the processional songs, first dance, party music, etc. Aside from the processional songs almost none of our open dance music was played and we spent a lot of time completing an entire playlist of 50 songs. Our first dance was messed up because apparently the planner does not communicate with the DJ.

e wedding. The space is visually stunning and truly creates a magical backdrop for your special day. However, my experience with their planning and coordination services was incredibly disappointing. From the very beginning, I was assigned two to three different planners, which immediately raised red flags for me. I voiced my concerns early and even asked for a refund, as I could already see where things were headed. But the venue assured me they would ensure my day was everything I wanted — sadly, that wasn’t the case. In reality, there was no true planning support. I ended up planning my entire wedding myself. While I received some basic logistical assistance, there was no attention to detail, no personal touch, and no initiative from their team to truly own the experience. It felt like they were just checking boxes rather than genuinely investing in making the day run smoothly. To make matters worse, their team threw away my $2,000 custom wedding cake, claiming I hadn’t given instructions to save it — something that should be standard practice for any professional coordinator. They also failed to serve our paid-for signature his-and-hers drinks, and when I brought both issues to their attention, they refused to issue any kind of refund or resolution. I truly believe their coordination team is inexperienced and lacks the senior-level oversight needed to execute weddings at the standard that matches the venue’s elegance. If you’re expecting a planning team that will lead, anticipate needs, and ensure your day is seamless — this is not the team for you. I highly recommend Iron Manor for the venue alone — it is visually incredible — but do not use their planning or coordination services. If you want your day to be well-executed and stress-free, bring in your own experienced planner. the freedom to have fun and not worry about what was coming next because she would just come get me and guide me to the next thing. Also she made sure I always had a drink in my hand at the reception which was A+. The food was awesome, drinks were GREAT, bartenders and servers were hospitable and helpful. The DJ was SUPER. We had Gilbert and I can’t recommend him enough! The one drawback for iron manor was that they don’t let you into the venue until noon on the day of the event. I found this a challenge for the ladies to have time to do our hair and makeup before. We got ready at an air BnB nearby and then got to the venue in time for everything to go fine and well, but we didn’t get any pics of the girls doing makeup/ getting ready. Which is a small bummer in the grand scheme for me. At the end of the day Iron Manor is absolutely stunning and the all inclusive package made planning easier for me. I would 100% do it again.
