Island Thyme Catering

Kristy and her team at Island Thyme Catering were amazing! Everything they provided for our September 3rd wedding was fresh, mostly local, and delicious! Their farm-to-table concept showcases the best that Lake Leelanau has to offer and is far above anyone else's. From appetizers to late night pizzas, all of our guests were raving about the food. Not just that, but the staff was also excellent; they were efficient, personable, and were all around great to have. Planning this wedding long distance would have made anyone feel uneasy, but we were completely at ease knowing that the skillful team at ITC was handling the food for our special day.

Kristy and her team are truly amazing at what they do. We utilized Island Thyme for our wedding and are still receiving compliments for not only how good the food was all around, but how beautiful it looked as well. The food is creative and incorporates many local farms and ingredients into their recipes. Their staff was attentive and detail-oriented and made serving over 85 people look effortless (although we know it isn't)! I can't recommend Island Thyme and Kristy enough - they are a gem to work with!

Is there a way to give more than five stars? Island Thyme was wonderful! My love for them started when I heard their focus was on extra fancy local vegetables. My family and I were then blown away at the taste test (celery root apple puree?? chicken with heirloom tomatoes and balsamic reduction?? yes???), and loved the way they worked with us to figure out how to satisfy carnivores, vegans, gluten-free peeps and toddlers. At the wedding, we opted for family-style service (serving platters passed among 8 people) and it made the dinner go so smoothly and felt so friendly. There was more than enough food for everyone and the staff was super kind, fast, and attentive. I kept hearing that you never get to eat at your own wedding but boy am I glad that wasn't true.

I just have to say again how incredibly thankful I am for this team being a part of our big day. The food, service and vibe of the ITC team was absolutely amazing and my family has been talking about it all week (as well as eating ALL the leftovers). The whole crew was truly phenomenal and Kristy's reassurances in the days leading up really left myself and everyone else feeling so good about the day. I hope someday we can throw another shindig and have them cater again. Leading up to our big day Kristy was responsive, flexible to our needs and accommodating to our budgetary restraints for our 90 person wedding. An example in both facilitating both budgetary and environmental concerns was swapping out regular plates for compostable bamboo plates. Such a great idea. We couldn't recommend her team enough. Trust me, you wont be disappointed!
