Islip Cleaners

OUTSTANDING!!! I wish I could give Danny and his team at Islip Cleaners more stars, because they did an incredible job cleaning, hemming and tailoring my wedding gown, and tailoring a dress for my rehearsal dinner. I bought a Monique Lhuillier wedding gown used and it arrived with a yellow stain along the right-hand side of the dress plus some other loose applique and spots along the bottom of the dress. I called Danny at Islip Cleaners for a quote and asked if he thought he could get the yellow stain out, and he gave me a VERY reasonable price range for the cleaning and said, "yes, no problem." He suspected the other bride had probably spilled white wine or something that yellowed over time and assured me that he and his team would be able to get the spot out, whereas the 4 other wedding dress cleaners and tailors I called all gave me more expensive estimates, longer timelines and NONE were willing to say they could get it out and one would not even try. Danny said it would take him a few weeks to clean and no problem, which was a HUGE relief, given my wedding is now in just over a month. Once I felt comfortable that Danny would be able to clean the dress, I asked if he might also be able to tailor it too, since I needed the dress shortened and I wanted to adjust the neckline from a deep, low V to a softer and more modest V that would be more proportional to my size. Danny and his seamstress, Rosalba, did a fabulous job hemming the dress (rather than just cutting it, which the other bride had done and was already starting to tear plus looked messy, uneven from the cutting, and unprofessional), and brought up the V but only by a touch so that it is not as severe and looks far more elegant than before. When I tried it on, I was amazed because not only was the dress SPOTLESS, sparkling white, and looking brand new, but the neckline looked so beautiful - one would never know that it was adjusted, and then Rosalba and Danny helped me adjust the cups, which had previously been sewed in unevenly. They even gave me new cups that fit me much better and provide more coverage and lift for an overall more elegant and flattering effect. They made the adjustments right there, and then put my now basically BRAND NEW wedding dress into a new bag. They also steamed out my veil, which was an added bonus that they offered without even charging me extra. After my initial meeting with Danny and Rosalba, I felt confident leaving an Amsale dress strapless dress that needed to be shortened with them for my rehearsal dinner and yet again they did not disappoint. They did a fabulous job hemming the dress but keeping the multi-layered effect, which was not easy to do! Both dresses look beautiful and like they were custom made for me - all thank you to Danny and the talented team at Islip Cleaner's. Throughout the process, Danny was extremely professional, assuring, and accommodating. He did all of this -- cleaning my wedding dress, hemming the entire bottom (the dress has a long train), adjusting the neckline, cleaning and steaming my veil, and hemming my rehearsal dinner dress in less than 3 weeks and exactly on the timeline and budget that was promised/discussed. I cannot speak more highly of Danny and the team and I cannot thank them all enough, as this has been the least stressful vendor to work with through my entire wedding planning process and his team helped lift such a huge weight off my shoulders as I had been really nervous that the stain would not come out - but Danny was right he got it out!, that the hemming might not look good - but it looks fabulous!, or that the adjustment to the neckline would not work - but they did such an elegant job! At every turn, Danny was calming, clear, and straightforward. He also understood that I was trying to keep within a specific budget and he helped me keep to it, and for all that he did, I feel I should have paid him more! Danny and Islip Cleaners are the consummate professionals. I would HIGHLY recommend and would go back to them in a heartbeat because they have my full trust and confidence. I was very happy with the service at Islip cleaners! Prior to my wedding I had a veil (my something borrowed) steamed at Islip cleaners and it came out great! After the wedding I knew I could trust my gown in their care! The gown was cleaned and packaged very well! I believe it was worth the money to have my gown cleaned and preserved the right way! Def recommend them!!!
