You need Mary Beth by your side for any wedding! She is great and guides you in so many ways! Having planned many smaller events throughout my life ( I am the MOB), I was not really sure if event planners are really neccessary. Well now that t...he beautiful wedding is all done I absolutely have changed my tune on that. I dont know what I would have done if every last little detail of that most special day had been left up to just my daughter and I.
Every MOB should consider this. One of the reasons for my 5 star is communication!! For me, and to most organized, particular people, there is nothing more important than knowing the people you hire will get back to you promptly and always keep in touch. No matter how busy Mary Beth was she responded to us promptly even just to say she was tied up but "will call as soon as she can".... And that she did! She spent much time listening to us, asking neccessary questions, giving suggestions yet always with a calm and very sweet demeanor. Right from our very first phone call with her she made us feel as though she would be totally attentive and knowledgeable but not pushy. Then upon our first meeting at our house we could see what she offered from keeping in touch with the vendors, reminding us about certain wedding details or protocol; getting more involved when we couldnt reach someone or finding a specific item etc. etc. We hired Mary Beth for "the day of" but let me tell you, she was there for us long before the wedding day. I had no idea that she would be doing everything she did and be that involved and with her experience and her calm demeanor it made it so much nicer. Of course MOB's and brides get stressed but Mary Beth often wanted to take the stress off of me. Along with the other tasks, something very important to me was Mary Beth taking care of guiding everyone through the rehearsal. I am telling you if you dont have that organized the ceremony the next day will not go smooth. Then the day of the wedding I just wanted to relax and enjoy and was so happy to know it would not be me or my daughter making sure everyone was doing their job at the last minute. Mary Beth kept saying to me throughout the whole last couple of weeks, "I will be the first one at the venue and the last one to leave" and again she did just that. During the wedding she over saw things and only would come to me with a simple question of my preference or if it was something only I could answer but honestly, I could not have relaxed like I did and taken it all in if I did not have Mary Beth, the wonderful wedding planner. Actually Mary Beth and I eventually had most of our best wedding conversations over our morning coffee via phone; some was for planning but some just for fun. You build a certain repor with someone like this who spends time and energy on such a special day in your families life and she puts her heart into it. Thank you Mary Beth!
