Stunning, perfection, fabulous, incredible! All the words describing the flowers - by the guests this weekend at my daughter's wedding! Ivie is a master at her craft! Unreal beauty, incredible creative talent and extraordinary team of people working to bring the perfection to an event! Loved all that she did and all the added touches that made The Foundry look magical! Thank you!
Ivie Joy Floral did a fantastic job for our wedding! They went above and beyond with bringing our vision to life and my friends all kept commenting on how beautiful our flowers were. We had a grand entrance, a structure with hanging flowers and an assortment of high and low table center pieces (in addition to the little details everywhere). All of the flowers were perfect, even given the extreme temperatures in August. The design phase was flawless and I loved doing the in person set up and ensuring that the arrangements were exactly what we were picturing in our heads. They even went above and beyond by last minute helping us decorate for the welcome party and when I walked down the aisle, I noticed they had put flowers in the church which we had not previously planned. They were a delight to work with and I highly recommend using them based on their high quality service and jaw dropping designs!!!
Ivie Joy created the most beautiful floral experience at our wedding. She executed our vision perfectly while also delivering something beyond our expectations. She worked so well with our venue which was a unique space. The flowers truly transformed the space and made our wedding so special.
Ivie and her team are true artists. We only met once in person and everything else was virtual which of course made it hard to conceptualize the floral but I never had any doubt with Ivie! She immediately understood our vision from our first call and executed it flawlessly. It was absolutely stunning! Simple and elegant floral arrangements that elevated the entire space. She is easy to work with and extremely creative. Her work is outstanding!
Of all the vendors we worked with Ivie Joy Floral Arts + Events was the worst. This review is a weird one to write - because our flowers were stunning. The final product was incredible and we continuously get complemented on them. But, the process of working with her - even on the wedding day was uncomfortable. The team was unresponsive - she told us told me we couldn't move flowers after the ceremony (wanted to upcharge to add more), and that we couldn't move our ceremony arch. Thankfully our planner was the most incredible and figured it out, but we were truly unsure what our day would look like until we arrived at the ceremony space. Like I said the final product was beautiful - so you'll get phenomenal flowers, but may not be worth the headache.
If you are going for the wow factor, Ivie goes over and above to deliver truly extraordinary florals! She is a genius and an artist who I feel was able to read our minds and make our daughters wedding vision come to life in the most colorful, lush and spectacular way.
Ivie absolutely killed our wedding florals in the best way!!! We wanted a really vibrant but specific color palette and also wanted a lush and wild feel and she totally delivered. Our chuppah and reception florals were breathtakingly beautiful. Highly recommend Ivie!!
Because I have always loved florals, hiring a great florist was one of the aspects of my wedding planning I was most excited about. Based on Ivie's social media and website, my husband and I were looking forward to working with her for our wedding. Throughout the planning process, she was minimally responsive to emails, which should have been a red flag. However, when we went to her studio to see what our wedding florals would look like, we were very happy with the centerpieces and arrangements she had created. On the day of our wedding, we could not have been more disappointed in the quality of the flowers. Despite the gorgeous weather, they were wilted upon arrival. Likewise, the centerpieces were sparse and incomparable to what we had seen at her studio. My bridal bouquet and the bouquets for my bridesmaids were much smaller than I had requested and did not at all look like the bouquets I had discussed with her and shown her photos of. Worst of all, we paid for expensive greenery installations throughout our tent, and her team installed inexpensive vines that were completely different than what she showed us in her studio. They did not even cover areas of the tent that we had paid for. We wasted a large sum of money on flowers that lacked quality and care. Based on her Instagram posts of big, lush installations on the day of our wedding, it was clear that our wedding was an afterthought. Thankfully, every other vendor we hired for our wedding was fantastic, so we were able to overlook the very disappointing quality that Ivie provided on our wedding day. I would not recommend this poor level of service to other couples.
I interviewed many florists before selecting Ivie. I had a pretty specific vision, dark moody and the entire wedding was going to be focused on flowers and nature taking over an industrial venue. After meeting with Ivie on site, I was sold and then some. She took my very rough vision and turned it into the most breathtaking immersive floral experience all of my guests were blown away. She was wonderful to work with, yes she's busy as some of the other reviews have said, I booked her almost two years out, but she's always been responsive and when you meet her you will see her talent and passion are out of this world.
Ivie and her team were fantastic throughout the entire wedding process. They brought my vision to life and flawlessly executed it on the day of. It exceeded my expectations and was even more beautiful and stunning than I could have ever imagined. I highly recommend Ivie and her team to anyone planning a wedding and hoping to bring their florals to the next level!
I had a similar experience with some of the other reviews. When I first inquired through her website, I thought she hadn't responded. I later realized her e-mail response was in my spam folder. I was then able to set up a call with Ivie herself, in which we discussed details, budgets, and my inspo boards for my upcoming wedding. She was helpful, attentive, and very courteous during the phone call. However, I did not hear from her for over a week after our call. She finally responded with an e-mail stating that she had double booked for the same weekend (although she had told me during our initial conversations that she was available on our wedding date) and cannot provide services due to high production demands. While I was looking forward to working with her, I was ultimately pretty disappointed, and unfortunately wasted my time.
Very frustrating experience. I am currently in the process of sourcing vendors and finalizing my budget for my wedding, and I absolutely loved the idea of having Ivie handle the florals and decor for the wedding. However, since my first attempts to reach out to Ivie Joy for a quote, I've been given the runaround. My first two inquiries through their website went ignored, so I started reaching out directly via email and through the phone number I have as their contact. The emails initially went unanswered, and the phone calls would go to a busy signal. Finally, I was able to connect with Ivie. She explained they were closed for a bit and have been catching up - which was completely understandable at first. I let her know my budget, vision and some other details and she promised me a quote/pricing information by the end of the week. 3 weeks later and despite my various attempts to reach out, I only received one email stating they've been busy due to Valentine's day. I also understand that - but the fact I have been trying so aggressively to simply get basic pricing to finalize my wedding vendor plans and without apology have been ignored is leaving a very bad taste in my mouth. I can only imagine the anxiety and stress I might experience leading up to my wedding day should I have booked them. It seems this is a common phenomenon with Ivie according to multiple other reviews here.
We decided to work with Ivie Joy after interviewing a few different florists largely due to her unbelievable gift for creating floral installations that are absolute master pieces! Our budget was limited but we knew we wanted a beautiful floral focal point for our ceremony and Ivie delivered. We loved how she took complete control of our concept and transformed our wedding at The Foundry into an elegant and enchanted space, with flowers galore. We are so thankful to have worked with Ivie and her team. Her professionalism, kindness, and creativity are TRULY unmatched.
I decided to work with Ivie on a hunch that she would never settle for doing subpar work and would make the most of my limited floral budget. My hunch proved completely accurate. Ivie's work was inspired and stunning, and her staff was incredibly professional. I would recommend her to anyone.
Flowers and decorations by Ivie Joy exceeded our expectations and created a unique atmosphere in our venue. She and her employees also demonstrated the highest level of professionalism and satisfied all the requests we had for our special day.
I would absolutely recommend her services to anyone.
Ivie Joy is amazing! Of the three florists our planner recommended, we chose Ivie because she has incredible style (check her Instagram!). Our wedding was at the Wythe Hotel, and we knew her style of florals would perfectly match what we were trying to achieve: romantic, soft, classic but still Brooklyn-cool. From the first meeting till the day of the wedding, it was easy and fun working with Ivie. She was cognizant of our budget and over-delivered on what was promised! After looking at a few inspiration photos we showed her, Ivie immediately knew what vibe we were going for and nailed it on the day of! We couldn't recommend her enough!
Ivie was amazing from the beginning. I sent her photos of my inspiration for our September wedding and we had an initial call to go over our vision before she put together her proposal to meet, go over it and sign it in person. We booked her a year before our wedding and she was always open to questions and any idea changes that we had during that time leading up to the month before the day. At our last meeting a few weeks before the wedding she showed us a preview of our table scape and my bridal bouquet. She listened to both my husband and I, made some adjustments and put together the perfect look. I trusted her completely and she went above and beyond on our wedding day, adding extra touches to make our venue even more beautiful than it already was. When I arrived at the venue I noticed an additional floral arrangement/installment at the entrance that was done on her own free will and it transformed the area. We got married at the Foundry. Ivie and her team work there often so she knows the venue very well and what works in it. She even helped me out a week before our wedding by giving me some greenery to place into table number frames that I took on as a DIY project. She did more than we could’ve imagined, making everything so beautiful. Contact her as soon as you set your wedding date because you’ll be in the best hands in terms of decor.
We could go on and on about Ivie Joy and her incredible work - she goes above and beyond. Her taste is impeccable. She has an incredible sense of style, mixing trends with classical elements, and does it all for a very reasonable budget. Without question, she and her team gave us the most bang for our buck - throwing in additional elements and repurposing pieces from our ceremony into our reception - she works with couple to make sure the event looks amazing for a price you won't find anywhere else. She is a consummate professional and delivers. She listened to our vision, and elevated it. Can't say enough great things about her - if you're thinking about flowers, just save yourself hours of phone calls and research and hire her. You won't regret it.
STOP SEARCHING AND HIRE IVIE NOW.
I am so happy she was available for my wedding and gave me the wedding design of my dreams! As a wedding photographer I've seen thousands of wedding floral designs and I didn't want anything ordinary. Without even having to do a design meeting, Ivie delivered way beyond my wildest dreams. My husband did not even participate in this planning process because he was busy with work, but when we both stepped in to our venue at 620 Loft and Garden the morning of our wedding, we were BLOWN away. She really went above and beyond and even added my vision of a version of Yayoi Kusuma's silver balls in the fountain. A chromatic flower wall of proteas and tropical palms for our photo booth, and all the pampas grass to earthen up a super glam wedding for me! My bouquet was so ginormous and so outstanding! People are still talking about my wedding and how amazing it was!!!
Ivie and her crew were great! What we loved about was her honesty about her work. She was all about doing her best rather than catering to what would be satisfactory to our needs. She went above and beyond and I can see why she is always busy. Highly recommend.
I first came across Ivies work through Instagram, prior to being engaged (though we had already discussed the engagement). I really loved everything I saw. When our planner suggested Ivie as a vendor for our florals I was ecstatic to say the least and couldn't wait to speak to her. We didn't have a very large floral budget, but we shared our vision and our wedding location and she was so enthusiastic and excited to work with us. At the floral preview I was a bit overwhelmed at first (so many flowers), but then she just had me share thoughts and as I shared them, she reworked the bouquets and suddenly in front of me was exactly was I envisioned. Ivie and her team are incredible. The day of the wedding I walked in to find an amazing installment over the entryway that wasn't on the quote. She added her touches to every space, small florals on the entry table, and by our glasses. She took our budget above and beyond to create a bright and magical setting. I would recommend Ivie Joy in a heartbeat.
Similar to other reviews here, Ivie Joy Floral completed disappeared on me. She was responsive at first while setting up a time over email but our scheduled phone consultation never happened. She missed our scheduled call so I left a voicemail (never called me back). I then followed up with an email, also no response. Total waste of my time as I could've used the time to look for other vendors. I'm so glad this didn't work out as I would not have been able to trust them with my wedding! Totally unprofessional and unreliable.
Ivie and her team were great. My wife had fallen in love with Ivie's work for a wedding we'd seen pictures of. Ivie listened to what we liked, what our vision was, and then, as true pro, expanded on it and brought it more to life than we could have imagined. She's a true artist. Beyond that, she gave birth just weeks before our wedding, but you'd never have known from our experience with her and her team. We were in great hands the whole way. Highly recommended.
We were so lucky to have found Ivie. Our photographer recommended her because she had photographed her work before and thought it was stunning.
Ivie is a lovely person and did a jaw-droppingly amazing job with our flowers. I was never really that into wedding flowers at other people's weddings and thought it was sort of a "had to have" thing at a wedding. But what Ivie did completely made the wedding what it was. Strangers were saying that my bouquet was the most beautiful they'd ever seen. I gave some general suggestions but just went with whatever Ivie suggested and once I arrived at my venue (the Prospect Park Boathouse), the flowers had completely transformed the venue into the best I've ever seen it look (and I've stalked a lot of weddings there on the internet!) Also, not sure what's going on with the other reviews here, but Ivie and her staff were very responsive to me. She does the flowers for the Tonys and other high-profile events, so is a complete professional.
Don't use them. Like many people here, I was totally ghosted, wasting precious time when I could have been working with a professional, reliable florist. After our initial conversations, she totally ceased all communication without an apology, call, or explanation. Really disappointing.
What advice would I give a couple interested in using this vendor? DON'T EVEN BOTHER. They are a huge waste of time and will just make you find and hire another vendor anyway.
I had an initial telephone conversation with someone at IJ and they sent me an email quotation, which was reasonable given the arrangements I wanted. We then had an in-person meeting with Ivy at my fiancé's office in Manhattan and went over more specifics. Ivy said she would like to come see the space (the mansion at Douglaston Manor) for a walk-through before providing to a finalized price. We agreed to a date and met her (assistant in tow) at the venue a few weeks later. After we waled through the venue and reviewed the event's needs, Ivy said she would have another quote ready in two days . . . . . .and that was the last we ever heard from her.
I emailed the company a few days later to follow up. My fiancé then emailed her again the following week. Nothing. No reply, no call, no apology, no courtesy notification. She just disappeared, wasting several weeks of my time and requiring me to begin serious negotiations with another vendor I'd been considering, As anyone planning a wedding knows this is entirely unacceptable, not to mention grossly unprofessional, behavior.
I would recommend that anyone coordinating an event of this scale look elsewhere. I have read other reviews where this company has behaved in an identical manner. I've also read several reviews that seemed to find their work satisfactory. But what good is the promise of decent flowers, when there's always the chance that the provider will simply blow you off without even the decency of an email? DON'T USE THEM.
One of my colleagues at work recommended Ivie Joy for my wedding. He showed me some photos from his wedding and everything about it was exactly what I was envisioning for my wedding! I immediately reached out in December 2015 and Ivie Joy connected me with her Client Services Director, Liz Yang. Liz was really great with e-mail responses and talked to me over the phone a few times to walk me through my wedding day vision. A month out to my big day, I sent an email to Liz about our wedding flower preview and was surprised to receive a response from another person. Apparently, Liz left the company but no one told me about it! The new girl didn't even introduce herself to me in the email and I had to figure out her name from her email address! Eventually, I met personally with Ivie Joy for my previews and she reassured me that she will be on site on my wedding day to ensure everything is perfect. However, few things fell short... no anemones in the bridal bouquets but the anemones were in everyone's bouquets, we asked for real flowers for our cake and they provided anemones, which is fine but they wilt and turn yellow fairly quick... so our wedding cake ended up looking far off from what we imagined it to look with the flower additions, I told Liz from the beginning that I didn't want any corsages but they ended up giving both mothers corsages, we did a petal toss during our ceremony recessional but most of the petals provides turned brown by the time they were tossed in the air... I wish they did a better job to somehow have the petals as "fresh" as possible. Overall, everything was beautiful but it was mostly the small details that fell short for us.
Ivie was amazing. She has such a unique perspective.
Ivie was recommended to us through a family member who really enjoyed working with her. My mom, fiance, and I met her at our venue and we had a great conversation - I really enjoyed her vision for our wedding and we were ready to work with her. However, after a brief email exchange, she totally disappeared. She was not responsive to emails, missed scheduled phone calls despite many attempts to reschedule, and totally ignored my follow up emails. It was so disappointing and unprofessional.
Wow!! We are so glad we used Ivie Joy as our wedding florist! They were such a pleasure to work with and they went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. My jaw dropped when I walked into our venue and saw the stunning work they did! Our floral arch for our ceremony was gorgeous!! I couldn't have imagined something more beautiful. The reception room was magical with chandeliers and hanging light bulbs. They took our vision and made it a reality. We couldn't be happier with how everything came out and we highly recommend them!!
I was supposed to meet with Liz from Ivie Joy Floral Arts today at their sister shop in Astoria, Queens. The appointment was originally for last Saturday at 2:00 PM, but I received an email from them that morning (at 10:30) canceling due to a stomach virus. I understand this- things happen- and we rescheduled via text message (with both Liz and the owner Ivie on the message) for today. I took the ride out to Queens from Manhattan, and my parents drove in from Long Island to attend the appointment. Unfortunately when we arrived at the store the salesperson told me that no one from Ivie Joy was in today and that I must be mistaken regarding my appointment. I showed her my text messages with Liz and Ivie and she proceeded to call them to see if they could come in/what the confusion was. Liz called me almost immediately and tried to explain that Ivie was out of town and had not told her that anyone had an appointment that day. Would've maybe been an OK excuse if she had not been included on the text messages one week earlier!
All in all incredibly disappointing - we made the trip all the way to Astoria only to been canceled on with almost no apology. I am so disappointed with Ivie Joy and would honestly be worried about whether they would arrive on time for my wedding. Definitely be warned.
Ivie is amazing! She did such a beautiful job on our chuppah, I still get blown away thinking about it!!! Literally, she knew exactly what I wanted before I wanted it. It was beautiful and sophisticated and decadent- everything I wanted for our 1920's themed wedding! She stayed way longer than she needed to and worked really hard and the effect was astonishing. I can't wait to get my wedding pictures because I know it's going to be beautiful. She nailed my theme 150% and it was better than I could have imagined. I would recommend her to everyone if I could. She does stunning work!!
From the moment I met with Ivie Joy, I knew she was the florist I wanted to use for my June 2013 wedding in Manhattan. I still met with a few other florists to do my "homework", but liked Ivie Joy the best. She was willing to work within my budget without sacrificing the integrity of the flowers. We also had a welcome/rehearsal dinner for all of our guests which fell on Swedish Midsummers Eve (my now husband is from Sweden) and Ivie Joy was able to create beautiful centerpieces which were reminiscent of traditional Swedish flowers. Ivie Joy is not only a talented experienced florist, but is friendly and easy to work with. She comes with an amazing team who will take care of all the details (she can also do more than just flowers like hanging lanterns and candy bars so be sure to ask!). I would highly recommend choosing Ivie Joy.
When Neil and I started planning our wedding last year, we knew without a doubt we had to reserve Ivie Joy Flowers. I personally had attended prior weddings and events that Ivie Joy had provided floral designs. And I'm always amazed by her creative and innovative work! Neil and I and our guests were just as impressed by her work for our wedding. We simply told her our wedding colors and style we wanted and left the rest to Ivie Joy. From the bridal party bouquets, to the church, to the reception...she made everything warm, inviting, and personalized. It's because of Ivie Joy our hotel reception venue was transformed into a romantic and whimsical setting. Ivie Joy was also a pleasure to work with, stress free and professional. Even when I had last minute requests. I highly recommend Ivie Joy Flowers!
