Very naively we went to Jacqueline’s bridal for our first dress try on experience. The owner of the business was a bit pushy, but has a great eye. I ended up falling in love with my first dress based on her selections. That’s about all I can say that was positive. You are not allowed to touch the dresses or take pictures unless you commit to buying. She was aware of our price range, but pushed more expensive dresses which I’m sure is a typical experience. We decided we loved the dress and bought it. The best advice I can give you is to take your dress and RUN if you decide to shop here. The alteration process was the worst experience of my wedding planning process. My wedding was set for July 2024. We bought the dress in May 2023. Despite knowing my wedding date, the owner pressured us to come in for my first fitting the following month and would not give a clear price on the cost of alterations. She required a $500 deposit and when I inquired about the remaining cost she told me she doesn’t know because “my dress has layers.” She then pressured me to book my final fitting for the dress in August of 2023 - essentially a YEAR before my wedding. When I asked if this was too early she said “well you aren’t going to get taller” (clearly not my concern). We ended up calling her to try to push the final fitting to a date closer to my wedding date and she was extremely combative and angry over the phone saying we had to come in now because she has to pay the seamstresses for the work and if we wanted it later we should not have done the first fitting. We then inquired again about the price which she eventually gave us an invoice for. The price was astronomical (essentially the price of a dress and for a gown that essentially was pretty close to a good fit). I would have never gotten the dress altered there if I had known and when I stated that she denied refusing to give me the price up front and said she would have never denied giving the price and we could “check the shop cameras.” I wish I checked the reviews for the shop earlier as I am seeing a few people had similar experiences. The dress was beautiful, but I couldn’t look at it for a long time because I was so upset about how the process went and terrified the entire year the dress wouldn’t fit on the wedding day (she claimed she would fix it if I came in three months before the wedding, but I honestly never wanted to see that shop again). She will take you for every penny she can. It’s a business and we were naive, but I hope this review can save some people. Go somewhere else for alteration. I’m sure she will respond (as I’m seeing throughout the reviews) believe me it’s not worth it.

ss, we advise starting early based on our experience, as last-minute alterations can add unnecessary stress to the later stages of wedding planning. You contacted us after purchasing your dress on May 26, 2023, requesting to schedule your first seamstress appointment for Thursday, June 27, 2023. We did not initiate this appointment; it was scheduled at your request. The day following your appointment, Friday, June 28, 2023, we emailed you a detailed estimate of the alteration costs, breaking down each component with its respective price. It's important to note that since you chose the appointment date yourself and the estimate was provided immediately afterward, we did not apply any pressure to schedule the appointment or proceed with the alterations. At this early stage, the seamstresses were prepared to pause their work if you had any concerns about the cost. However, we did not receive a response from you regarding the estimate. You scheduled your final fitting appointment for Tuesday, August 15, 2023, indicating that you intended to pick up your dress then. The seamstresses adjusted their schedules to ensure that the alterations were completed before your requested final fitting appointment. However, two days before this final fitting, you called Jacqueline's Bridal to request that the appointment be moved to 2024. By this time, the seamstresses had already completed all alterations on the gown. We were unable to accommodate the request to postpone the appointment, as the final fitting serves as a quality check for the seamstresses' work. Once their work is confirmed satisfactory, they are compensated. Delaying the appointment to 2024 would have significantly postponed their payment. To accommodate your situation, we offered an additional complimentary fitting appointment for 2024, two months before your wedding. We understand that measurements can change over time, and any necessary alterations identified at this fitting would be free of charge. This is the alteration estimate breakdown we emailed you on June 28, 2023: 1- Ballgown dress hemming - 3 Layers. $580 (Hemming of two regular layers, $130 per layer - Hemming of one layer with lace and horsehair, $320) 2- Redesign the straps and attach the straps with beads work $220 3- Back wl rubber inside the straps, so they don't stretch as much $65 4- Attach push-up cups. $35 5- Take in Waist/Hips on both sides 3 x layers with lace and beads work $320 (Each side $160) 6- Add lace to hide the bodysuit. $45 7- French Bustle with five points under layers, three points on top layer including material. $320 Alterations final amount: $1585 8- Ballgown dress steaming $140 9- Double veil steaming $55 Considering that we provided you with a beautiful dress, perfectly altered to your specifications, and fulfilled all your requests - except the one to move the fitting appointment, that you had scheduled, to the next year - we are very surprised by your response. I’m so happy to have found my dress! The boutique is clean and organized. The dresses are beautiful and truthfully they have an extra something that I can’t put my finger on that outdoes some that I have seen at other boutiques. The store owner and her associates are kind and helpful. They will make suggestions if you need it. She was able to work with me in setting up a plan to pay my veil. Very happy with the outcome!
