About this vendor
Throughout the years Jamesport Manor Inn has worked at almost every venue on the North Fork and experienced the many unique beauties that each has to offer. During the winter of 2005, the historic Jamesport Manor Inn on Manor Lane in Jamesport was renovated to become a truly North Fork experience. The ambiance of the historic manor is just the tip of the iceberg. Tucked away through our Apple Orchard is a beautifully manicured open field with views of the adjacent tree farm. The Orchard, can be tented to fit over 250 people.
With no site fee and all-inclusive pricing (which includes the tent) of $140 per person to rent The Courtyard, and $180 all inclusive pricing to rent The Orchard, it beats the pricing of any outdoor venue in the area.

This is a long review, but if you’re considering hiring Christopher Michael Catering for your event, or even eating at the Dimon Estate, I recommend you read the whole thing. The short version is that we booked them for our wedding in 2022, but they were disorganized, then incredibly rude and greedy, and ultimately cancelled everything on us a few months before our wedding date, with no reasonable explanation, apology, or compensation.
Here’s the story: we booked Jamesport Manor/Dimon Estate in June 2021 and were so excited to get married there. Fast forward to May 2022 and a sound ordinance was passed in the town of Riverhead that made it very difficult for them to host events. This led them to cancel the venue for all couples in summer 2022 – but they promised to still cater at a discounted rate and provide rentals, as well as help everyone find new venues. We rebooked a new venue that they suggested and proceeded as planned. Then, they canceled everything else (catering, rentals, bathrooms, etc) on us a few weeks later. The excuse was that a chef quit, so they did not have enough staff. When we called to talk to Matt, he basically told us that we had no right to ask any questions and that we shouldn’t be upset— because while we were losing a wedding, he was losing his business. Our wedding planner and new venue also asked questions, but Matt evaded them as well. We tried to ask for just the rentals (sans catering) since the chef was the issue, but Matt refused.
To date, have not been given any reasonable explanation from Matt. Christopher Michael Catering has continued to cater weddings and promote their business online despite this supposed chef quitting (as demonstrated by the other reviews from weddings around the same time on this page). We were first ignored, then berated and yelled at by Matt for asking very reasonable questions over the phone. We received no compensation and almost had to cancel our wedding— but thanks to incredible kindness of some new vendors, we pulled off a wonderful (albeit significantly more expensive) wedding!
While admittedly a good chef, Matt is a disorganized mess with poor communication skills, who will not make an effort to help you or be reasonable if it’s not beneficial to him. If you want a kind, organized catering company to plan your event with, there are many other excellent options in the area. All it would have taken for us to let it go was a sincere apology and admission of their mistake, but we never received that from anyone. We hold the entire family/business responsible and recommend you do not trust them or give them your money.
Jamesport Manor Inn will forever bring my husband and I the greatest memories of not only our wedding day but the months leading up to it. We chose Jamesport Manor because we wanted something different from cookie cutter wedding venues and we were looking for someplace with a beautiful property and great food. Since the first visit and meeting Matt, the owner, we knew it was the right place for us. Working with Matt was all we could have asked for, he is very patient, passionate and always puts the customer first before anything. The apple orchard, large tented area with dance floor and location in North Fork left our guests feeling like they "went away" to wine country while still being close to home. The food was raved about, menu options and french style service were exceptional. We formed a great connection with Matt and our vendors, and Jamesport Manor will always be close to our hearts. We can't wait to come back to visit the restaurant or hopefully be invited as guests to a wedding there!
Our guests are still raving about our wedding!!!
My husband and I both work in the wedding industry so when planning our wedding we knew exactly what we wanted and what we 100% did not want. We actually had photographed a wedding together at JMI before getting engaged on a rainy day and it was absolutely stunning. When discussing venues for our wedding we couldn't help but returning back to JMI time and time again because it was just THAT gorgeous, even in the rain.
Jamesport Manor Inn has everything - beautiful orchard, manicured grounds, and is surrounded by that North Fork charm of vineyards and wide open fields. What I loved most about the location was it gave the illusion of a backyard / vineyard wedding but the venue took care of everything for you. It was honestly a no brainer to have our wedding here.
You also can't talk about JMI without mentioning the FOOD. I have dinner at JMI a handful of times a year and have a 10/10 experience every single time. Our guests were wowed by the variety of food at our wedding and the french style serving was a hit!
Leading up the wedding the staff was communicative and helpful and the best to work with. They listened to all of our ideas and made our wedding vision come to life. We are forever grateful for Matt and the whole team over at JMI and their catering team!
The Jamesport Manor Inn was the perfect place for our North Fork wedding! The team was extremely accommodating when we needed to postpone due to COVID. We had a very clear vision of what we wanted and the team at JMI made it happen! Because you have the venue for the day, we were able to customize our timeline and flow to maximize time for dancing. We loved how dinner is served French style - where guests could have all options and seconds served family style. The food was delicious, our guests are still raving! Matt and team were also able to accommodate for those with special diets, alerting us to GF options and creating vegan options. The bar service and offerings were top notch and the views are beautiful. We also held our rehearsal dinner here as well to create a seamless experience for our guests. An absolutely perfect spot for our May wedding!
Everything about The Jamesport Manor Inn is special. A friend of our who lives in the area suggested we try to have our sons and his now wife rehearsal dinner there. It was a large group of close to 50 people. We did not have much time to book the event as our kids wedding venue was changed very suddenly when the venue in Nassau county cancelled all weddings. The new venue was in Mattituck. I called Jamesport Manor Inn based upon my friends recommendation alone. I was anxious to book a place but feared I would have no luck given the short notice. But someone was looking out for us because the date Friday August 6th was available. Matt Kar, Wendy, Christine and ALL the staff were beyond wonderful. I made a deposit sight unseen and never looked back. Planning this event with them from the beginning could not have been easier, from date, time, tour of the grounds with Matt and having lunch at the Inn with my son and his now wife was just so easy. Matt assured them it would be a delightful evening . I met again with Matt to plan the menu and select linens and discuss set up . We spent an hour in total and it was the easiest hour. He has such great choices and suggestions for menu and how the event could be set up. I would tell anyone having a event here listen to him ,he knows what he is doing!
The day of our rehearsal dinner was beautiful. It began at 6pm and was set out in the orchard. Everyone of our guests to a person felt they were transported to somewhere like Napa or Tuscany. It just got better. The food was absolutely delicious every last bit of it. Dinner was served in a French style . I saw so many people having seconds an even thirds! . Dessert was fantastic too. The waitresses were so lovely as was the bartender. (If you can, rent the farm truck that converts to a ba.r Our guests loved it.) We could not have been more delighted. Our family, friends and All the kids are still talking about it. Thank You so very much everyone at Jamesport Manor Inn and Orchards and most especially Matt. You are the best!
I can't say enough positive things about this venue and our experience! The grounds are absolutely beautiful, the food is delicious (and plentiful!), and the staff is kind and accommodating. A number of our guests have Celiac disease, and Matt and his team did everything possible to make sure that the food was safe, including specific menu items with me in advance to make sure I was comfortable. Christine was extremely responsive leading up to the wedding and worked tirelessly to make sure everything was wonderful for us. I can't thank them enough for all of their hard work and kindness! We had a perfect wedding day!
My husband and I got married at The Jamesport Manor Inn on June 12, 2021 and it was truly a dream. The grounds and location are absolutely beautiful! Matt and his entire staff were so accommodating and professional, they made our day perfect! The food was delicious and our guests keep telling us how great it was. There is a large selection of passed hor dourves and dinner selections to choose from. This location allows for guests to gather together, explore the orchard and even play corn hole! Our guests tell us our wedding was one of the best they have been to and I truly believe it was because of this perfect venue!
"That was fun!". "Amazing wedding!". "The food was great!". "That was a perfect wedding!". These were a few of the many great remarks at the conclusion of my daughter's and son-in-law's wedding at The Orchard on July 9th, 2021. With all the craziness going on this year Matt was very reassuring and put us all at ease if Covid were to disrupt their wedding date. We live local and have enjoyed Matt's great food for many years at his restaurants and catered events so we were all excited about having the wedding at the Jamesport Manor Inn. We started with the wedding ceremony near the orchard and then to the courtyard for the cocktail reception. Christine and her staff did a great job keeping the delicious hors d'oeuvres coming and the rustic barn is a nice touch for the bar. After the cocktail reception we all walked to the reception tent enjoying the beautifully landscaped areas along the way as well as the apple orchards. The French Style dinner was awesome and the staff came around with a second helping. The bar truck is very cool, really adds to the whole orchard experience. After dinner it was dancing until the end. Can't say enough how professional and accommodating Matt, Christine and the whole staff were. My daughter and son-in-law wanted something different and not to be enclosed in a wedding hall and the experience at Jamesport Manor Inn was exactly what they wanted. What's nice is that there were so many options for our guests whether they wanted to dance, catch up with friends and family, walk the grounds and take great photos, or play the corn hole game, everyone looked happy.
We held our Rehearsal Dinner here and couldn’t have been happier with our decision. Wendy and her staff were friendly and accommodating to us and our guests. The meals were delicious and had a great variety of options so there was something for everyone.
The wedding was OUTSTANDING! Our kids wanted something a little different for their special day. What made it so wonderful first of all was dealing with Matt Kar who could not have been more genuine or accommodating especially when it came to including the couple’s dog, Pippa, who is a special part of their lives. Matt’s food and staff’s service was excellent and the French style service was a pleasant surprise to our guests.
What made it so different, though, were simple little things like greeting our guests with a Welcome Station offering chilled beverages before the ceremony; corn-hole games; having a beautiful orchard to meander through and stepping up to that beautifully restored vintage potato truck for a drink was so nice. We also loved the garden furniture set in groups around the perimeter of the reception area for family and friends to catch up.
The grounds were so beautiful and so much appreciated after the year all of us just had. And that was another thing. Reading the horror stories of some brides’ experience with other vendors due to COVID, Matt was so sympathetic and helpful in rearranging our postponement and even gave us the option of canceling our contract with all deposits returned.
I can’t recommend The Jamesport Manor Inn enough for your wedding, ours was perfect. Thanks Matt, you and your staff were absolutely wonderful!!!

Looking for a dream wedding, we were and we got it. First date was 10.3.20, and we got to journey through the pandemic with Matt and it was smooth sailing to 6.5.21. What a amazing venue. Beautiful place for an outdoor Wedding. I truly hope we are invited to another function here. I’m hoping to host my parents 50th wedding Anniversary their too next year. The every aspect of this place is simply beautiful. Food was phenomenal, service even better but nothing beats the ambiance of the place. There was plenty of places to go and they had corn holes set up too. Even a week later I have family and friends texting me telling me what an amazing wedding it was. And it was all Matt and his team.
The biggest THANK YOU TO THEM for their hard work. Let this place be one of your places to visit when venue hunting, it’s so worth it.
Matt and team at the Jamesport Manor helped us host the best wedding we could imagine. The team is flexible, attentive and really cares about making sure the couple is happy with the whole experience. The venue itself is such a beautiful setting, the day-of staff is very pleasant, the food was delicious, and we were really happy with our choice.
I really can’t say enough about the owner/staff at Jamesport Manor. We had hired them in February to cater our wedding and despite the changes due to Covid, they went above and beyond. Matt, the owner accommodated any request/change we had and the staff who worked our wedding were amazing! The sweetest ladies, so helpful for every aspect of our day! We really couldn’t recommend them enough and are so happy they were part of our day!
Last weekend, Jamesport Manor Inn hosted my wedding ceremony, cocktail party and dinner for me and my husband's immediate family. From start to finish, the event was beautiful. The food and service were exceptional. The event itself was planned in a little over a month (our original wedding was canceled due to Covid-19) and Matt and his staff were extremely communicative, understanding, compassionate, and efficient. I highly recommend this venue for a wedding or other special event. Thank you, Jamesport Manor Inn! We will never forget this incredible day and overall experience.
I highly recommend this beautiful venue!! My husband and I were married here in September of 2019. Matt and his team went above and beyond to make sure that our special day went perfectly! Our guests still rave about the food and how perfect the day was. We planned our wedding in four months and they still were able to make every detail that we wanted happen. Thank you to Matt and his team!
Sydney did the most amazing job I could ask for!! My makeup came out phenomenal! She understood my vision and executed it perfectly! She truly made our day extra special because everything came out exactly the way I envisioned! I highly recommended Sydney for all makeup and hair needs! She’s extremely professional yet personable and makes you feel so comfortable on your big day
Jamesport Manor was the 2nd wedding venue we visited and we knew right away this would be the place we would get married. We had our ceremony and reception in the orchard in September and it couldn’t have been a more beautiful day. Everything was perfectly set up by Christine and her amazing team, the food was incredible and the service was above and beyond. They communicated with me the entire planning process and made it so easy to switch out whatever I wanted (like the disco ball I insisted on having). Matt & Christine are both so wonderful to work with and made the planning process actually enjoyable. My guests are still raving about the venue and how beautiful everything was. We loved every second of our day and cannot thank you enough!
After endless searches, meetings, and phone calls with other vendors on LI and being unable to afford the wedding any of them, I stumbled upon the Jamesport Manor Inn. When I reached out to Matt (the owner), he was quick to respond and the MOST reasonable vendor on the North Fork. When I first saw the Manor, I was absolutely stunned by its beauty and rustic vibe. It was exactly where I pictured having my wedding without the astronomical price tag that comes along with a rustic vineyard-style wedding on LI.
Words cannot express how truly grateful we are for everything Matt has done for us! June 15, 2019 was absolutely the best day EVER. I am a HUGE foodie, and I cannot tell you how much I loved the food. Trust Matt!
He has been a caterer for years and knows exactly what he is talking about. Cocktail hour was incredible. They kept the food coming all hour long and everything was simply amazing! Who knew the mac and cheese bites would come with CHEESE dipping sauce?!
I wanted a different salmon that was on the menu as a special at the restaurant but it was not a choice that was listed for the wedding dinner menu, and Matt, without hesitation, allowed me to have that as a meat option. I also wanted truffle mashed potatoes but was unsure if the guests would love it as much as I do - so of course Matt made just my Husband and I truffle mashed potatoes. Also, French Style is the way to go. My guests we able to have seconds and try everything on the menu.
The Orchard is absolutely beautiful. Everything was just perfect, I can go on and on. The entire venue is just breathtaking and was exactly what I dreamed of and more. Matt exceeded our expectations on every level.
I had the wedding of my dreams at Jamesport Manor Inn. Matt was absolutely wonderful and accommodating to our needs he customized the wedding entrees to be more Spanish style since our family is Hispanic. Everything went smoothly thanks to him and Christine, all of our last minute requests were met and his staff was exceptional during the wedding from serving purposes to the transitions during the reception everything went smoothly. The cocktail hour was amazing and our family still raves about the appetizers until this day! If I could relive my wedding day all over again I would in a heartbeat !!!
My husband and I knew we wanted an outdoor venue on the North Fork from the second we started thinking about marriage. We thought those dreams would be crushed when we found out the prices to achieve this type of wedding in this area. We realized our dreams would become a reality when we found Matt and the Jamesport Manor Inn. I was far from an easy bride and Matt went above and beyond to meet all of my demands lol (sorry Matt!). He customized my cocktail hour, changed my lighting, added different wine choices all within days before my wedding. I was beyond floored at how absolutely beautiful the barn for cocktail hour and the tent looked for my reception. I had 175 guests and all of them commented on how amazing the grounds were and how great it was to be in an outdoor space. The food was delicious and SO much! Everyone left full and happy which was exactly what I wanted. Thank you to Matt for making all of dreams a reality!
What can I say... A week has passed and I am still dreaming about my perfect wedding which I owe to Matt, Christine and their Team at the Jamesport Manor Inn. I could not have ask for a better night, weather and accomodation and would do it all over again if I could. The venue is absolutely beautiful, not only the scenery but the detail Matt's team puts into making the wedding of my dreams. I am forever grateful for the memories I was able to make with loved ones from far and close. Thank you!
We had the most perfect outdoor wedding at the Jamesport Manor Inn. We visited many wineries on the North Fork as possible wedding venues, but I am so happy that we chose the Jamesport Manor. It turned out to be much prettier than any vineyard! The manor and property is absolutely beautiful and the apple orchard was the most amazing spot for our ceremony. Our reception was a short walk to the barn and courtyard area under a beautifully lit tent.
Matt, the owner of the Jamesport Manor and Christopher Michael Catering, was so helpful and accommodating. From our initial conversations to the day of the wedding, he made sure that every detail was covered and it really did turn out perfect. Christine, our catering manager, made sure everything went off without a hitch. She paid attention to every detail and made sure that all of our guests were taken care of. And, the bartenders and wait staff were so friendly and professional. The food was AMAZING - the French style service was great as every guest could try any or all of the entrees and sides. The servers even came around to offer seconds to all of our guests. The food is all cooked on site so it is incredibly fresh. We are still getting compliments from our friends and family on the amazing food. Best of all, the all-inclusive pricing per person made wedding planning so simple and VERY affordable! Matt took care of the outdoor tent, tables, chairs, place settings/silverware, lights, alcohol, food, wedding day set-up, very nice luxury portable bathrooms, bartenders, wait staff, day-of coordinator and assistant. This allowed us to have the wedding of our dreams.
The Jamesport Manor is a magical place to get married and we wouldn’t change a thing about our wedding. Many of our family and friends have said that it was the best wedding they have ever been to! We can’t thank Matt and his staff enough!

This venue was and is amazing. The grounds are so beautiful and well kept, the orchard is picture perfect- especially at night under the string lights, and the actual restaurant on the property is just so elegant in itself. We stumbled upon this venue unexpectedly but I will be forever grateful that we did! This is definitely one of the best up and coming places to have your wedding.. book it now before it's all booked up! The owner, Matt, was one of the most easy people to work with, as he guided us every step of the way, and accommodated every single thing we asked for. The food is outstanding... every thing is fresh and local and people rave about it. In fact I was told multiple times that our wedding was one of the best that many of the guests had ever been to, and I owe a large thanks for that to Matt and his team at the Manor. I couldn't be happier - thank you!!!
When my fiancé and I found the Jamesport Manor Inn, we thought we might have discovered a secret wedding treasure. My husband and I now look back at our wedding day at the Jamesport Manor Inn and we know we did! It is hard to even describe the countless gifts of this special venue. It was not just the humble beauty of the land, the rustic charm of the old barn, the horses grazing in the distant fields, or the quaint elegance of the restaurant. It was the people who helped us create our vision and did it with heart. Matt and his team were a pleasure to work with. Using the scenic land, Matt helped us create a perfect backdrop for our ceremony and reception. He planned an exceptional menu that our guests are still raving about and connected us with a team of local vendors that brought our day to life exactly as we envisioned it. Everyone we worked with was talented, fun to collaborate with, and on top of their game. So many of the details that we would have had to manage at other venues we looked at were taken care of by Matt and his staff. It made the details of wedding planning fun, interactive, and enjoyable! We are thrilled to have had such a great time planning and experiencing a truly special wedding at this scenic and charming location. We are so grateful that there is a restaurant to visit where we can reconnect with the place we said our vows, eat exceptional food, and enjoy great ambiance. We cannot recommend the Jamesport Manor Inn highly enough as a wedding venue and as a place to create one of your most personal, meaningful, and beautiful life memories.
My happiness can never be expressed enough regarding the Jamesport Manor Inn and Matt. You made every moment the most special. From start to finish everything was absolute perfection. Oh and the food was AMAZING.... I continue even today to get compliments on how my wedding was the best guests have ever been to! Thank you... can't wait to visit for dinner soon
