Originally from Canada, at the age of 13 my grandmother gave me my first camera for a family trip to South Africa, which shaped my whole future. That first big international trip gave me insight into how differently people live, to the power of nature, and to a bond over capturing it through photography with with my grandma.
Having now traveled to over 45 countries, studying photojournalism and working as a news photographer in Australia, my camera has become a tool for connecting to people and and culture. It has been a way of sharing experiences with others, and preserving memories.
