I don't normally do this. I support local businesses as much as possible. I feel compelled, however, to share my experience with JB Bakery in Burlington. I ordered cookies from them on June 27th for the 100th birthday of a lovely local lady.... This bakery is the one which makes the special "message" cookies which someone posted on here a few months ago, and it was $96 for 2 dozen. (I know, ridiculous, but I was in the moment!) Unfortunately a few days later everyone started getting covid and the party was scaled way back to immediate family only. I called the Bakery on Friday July 1st to cancel the order which was to be picked up on July 3rd. The manager canceled the order and said the owner "Steve" was the only person who could refund my credit card and that she would call me back to confirm. Never happened. As of today, 5 phones calls, 7 days later, no credit, no return calls. The manager, when I told her I may have to sue them, that I would file complaints, review them on social media, she said "G'head!" I am beyond disappointed and appalled at their bad business practices! And oh yes, I'll admit, the "jersey girl" got the best of me and I said things I shouldn't have on that last call! BUT that does not excuse their not refunding my money. I'm dealing with it as I promised them I would (and more!) but I just wanted everyone to know. Don't use this bakery!
