If you are looking for a low budget moderate quality video then look no further!!! We did not want to spend enormous amounts of money on a wedding video and JC designs was perfect for us. Jamie was able to give us a wedding video with what we wanted to watch whenever we want. I do have to say it is not a movie production and you can tell it’s not professional camera work, but it was worth it to me for the price I paid. She’s great to work with and I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a low budget videographer!!
On a positive note, J.C. Designs is affordable, and pleasant to deal with. If you are looking for an average quality piece at an affordable price, this might be the vendor for you. Be forewarned, however, it will take 3 months to get the first look at what she has done, and it took 3 more to get our fairly minor edit requests (we resubmitted twice) satisfactorily addressed for our final copy.
We had numerous complaints from guests about the bright (and unflattering) light from the video camera shining in their eyes as the camera hovered very close to them, sometimes during moments they would have rather had been more private. One couple was kissing quite deeply on the dance floor, and all of it was in the final reception footage. We also had several shots of wedding party females adjusting bras and cleavage during the getting ready portion, all of which also made it to the final copy.
We were asked for songs that we wanted on the video, and we promptly sent her a list. Two days before the first proof was uploaded, Jaime asked for a particular song that we'd wanted for the beginning. This song was very fast, and my heart sank as I realized that she must have edited the video with no regard for the music that would be featured with it. Sure enough, the slow, pastoral openings were ridiculous when paired with the fast moving song. We had to drop the song altogether, and none of the other songs we'd wanted were in the video at all. Jaime then told us she'd never seen the email we sent, so we re-sent it along with other revisions.
The video quality was high definition, but there was no movement stabilization on the cameras, giving any camera not mounted on a tripod that jiggly, hand-held look. The cameras also apparently lacked low light capability, hence the bright intrusive light at the reception. I can't cite specifics, but I know that I've seen other video elsewhere that looked much better, but I don't know why. Images did not seem as vivid as it truly was, nor were the colors quite true to life on the video.
Editing lacked finesse, with no establishing shots, some jump cuts, and curious (and even questionable) editing choices. Knowing that she did not take the music into consideration when editing makes me believe that she follows a fairly formulaic format for each wedding. Sound, however, was the only problem we actually tackled with her, as the sound levels were terribly inconsistent and the music issues took until the last version to correct.
I would not recommend her if you have training or video experience, but if you aren't going to notice editing details like what I've mentioned, she's pleasant at a good price, and she gets thorough coverage.
Jaime was great and fun to work with. She was professional and very helpful to us. We're from the Chicagoland area and she was everything we could've asked for and more.
We hired Jaime as our videographer for our October 25th wedding. I have waited so long to submit my review because I wanted to see the finished product first. She was very easy to stay in contact with prior to our day. She responded very quickly to my many emails. She was on-time to our wedding and very professional. It was almost like she wasn't there... she blended in so well that my wedding party honestly never noticed her. She does have a time limit depending on which package you choose. We chose a fairly inexpensive option due to budget constraints. She does have many different options available for all budget levels. Many other videographers do not offer so many options... I did a lot of research on this because my husband and I were not sure we could afford a videographer. We were able to view our video in late january which was honestly a little longer than we had originally thought..... but the finished product was AMAZING!!! I know of brides who've spent thousands on their videos and received very similar products. I have watched my video several times in the past month just to relive that amazing day. For our price, which was less than $1000 including several copies, we received complete coverage of our ceremony, reception speeches and dances. She also created a few short video clip montages to music which played prior to the ceremony video and reception video. She also came with us while we took photos around downtown Milwaukee. She created the coolest 3 minute montage of clips from while we were taking photos. I am so happy we chose to go with J.C. Designs.
If you take anything from this review at all, please consider hiring a videographer. You will regret it if you don't. Please consider J.C. designs for her professionalism, quality, and reasonable pricing. My husband and I were amazed at the finished product. It brought me to tears!
First of all, if you are questioning hiring a videographer, do it. You will be so sad and regretful that you did not get vows, speeches and awesome dancing on film! Second, hire THEM. Working with Jamie was one of the best experiences I had with vendors while planning my wedding. Her communication was absolutely amazing and she really seemed to go above and beyond for us. Not only did she make the planning process super smooth for us, but the day of the wedding was perfect! They were right on time and I barely noticed they were there! She only stopped me to ask questions when it was super important/necessary, and I always appreciated it. She even agreed to alter their contract at the last minute (literally, during the dancing part of the wedding) because I wanted them to stay longer! My husband and I have not yet seen the footage, but cannot express enough how satisfied we were with the service. I relied a lot on reviews while planning my wedding and definitely wanted to make sure to pay it forward! I will (and already have) definitely recommend them to any bride and groom I know.
When planning our wedding, my husband and I knew we wanted a videographer. In this day and age, to NOT have our wedding captured on video would have been a travesty. My girlfriends who got married and did not hire a videographer regret that decision deeply. Our advice: Make the investment. This is a moment in time you can never replicate and will always want to remember. We thought about having a family member or friend videotape the whole day but then decided against that as we wanted our family and friends to enjoy the day and not have to worry about working the whole time. We searched for a super cheap videographer (under $500) but then quickly discovered the videos were less than ideal.
Working with Jaime of J.C. Designs was a win-win for the right price with a high quality final product. You won't regret hiring her! She was able to capture our special day from start to finish with wonderful talent and a high level of professionalism. She worked nicely with our photographer's group as well even though the two had never met before. The day of the wedding, she set up multiple cameras at the church to get multiple views which was really cool. In the end, we are extremely happy with our decision to hire Jaime. Our video is very near and dear to our hearts. The editing process takes a while but it is understandable considering she had about 10 hours of raw footage to work with. One special thing we requested were interviews from our grandparents that are still living. Additionally, she got all of the wedding speeches on tape along with our entire ceremony. She was even able to pull still photos out of some of the video shots, which was an unexpected but very neat thing to do! So pick up the phone and call her up! You won't regret it, I promise you!
J.C. Designs was an excellent choice for videography for my November 2012 wedding. Since hiring a videographer wasn't necessarily a "must" for my husband, I knew I needed to find someone with great prices and who'd be willing to work with us on a custom package deal. Jaime did just that and so much more! We ended up contracting a custom 15-minute highlight video (8 hours of film time) that incorporated all the important parts of our day (ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, first dances). Plus, she added in tons of fun details such as getting ready shots, toasts, cake cutting family photos, the dance! Jaime and Jennifer were extremely professional, prompt with responses, and you barely noticed they were there. The video was exactly what we were looking for and I'm so happy we went with J.C. Designs.
We used JC Designs for our wedding videographer. We have not gotten our actual video back yet, so I can't comment on that, but as far as her service the day of, she was great! She was reliable and showed up on time. She was everywhere! I wouldn't always realize she was there, which was great, but when I would look around she was running around trying to catch everything she could! She stayed out of the way of the photographer, but was still able to get her camera in where she needed to be. We had 3 other friends that used her before us, and so that is why we went with her, so we will see how our video turns out, I can't wait to see it! I think she is reasonaby priced for what you get. She even ended up staying about 20-30minutes late with no charge to catch some of our things we wanted quick! She is very friendly! I would reccomend her!
I barely noticed that my videographer was there...she did a great job not being in the way. Haven't seen the finished product yet, but should be great!
Jaime was great! Can't wait to see our video, but she was at all the major events and even stayed late secondary to our DJ malfunction. Couldn't have asked for a nicer person to work with.
She was really nice and professional. The prices were cheap.
Jaime is very fun and creative, and very easy to work with! I would recommend her to anyone!
Haven't seen the results yet but she was on time and seemed to know what she was doing. She also made a great video slideshow of our lives growing up that was played during the ceremony
We have not gotten our video yet (still within 2 months of wedding) so I don't want to jump the gun, but Jaime was great.
Our Videographer did an Excellent job capturing moments we didn't even realize happened during our wedding. He was a part of it but in a way that you didn't realize he was even there...Our wedding video was put together perfectly with special touches of our love for each other.
