I’ve reached out on the Knot and via email. They are unresponsive.
My husband and I recently had our wedding at Jefferson Tower Events and it was the BEST day of our lives. We had a wonderful experience planning with Elizabeth and Silka who made the process so easy for us. The food was amazing, the florals/decor turned out even more beautiful than I even imagined, and Elizabeth's coordination with my other vendors was extremely smooth. They were very understanding when we had to push back the date of our wedding by 3 weeks which was very helpful for us to be able to have an international wedding as my husband is French. We hadn't seen his family/friends for over 2 years prior to our wedding due to COVID. I could not recommend this venue enough to anyone looking to get married in the DFW area! Thank you Jefferson Tower Events for hosting the best day of our lives!
There are so many wonderful things to say about this venue!
Pros:
1) ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. The space is gorgeous. The Art Deco style, big windows, space overlooking the Dallas skyline, etc. I cannot say enough about how beautiful it is.
2) Elizabeth, the venue manager, was an absolute gem from beginning to end, especially with everything involving all the uncertainty surrounding COVID. She graciously answered my many questions, let me defer payment until the last minute in case things shut down, worked with me to create a fun yet safe environment, etc. Thank you Elizabeth!
3) Having a venue that had in-house cake baker, catering, bartenders, florist, all linens/tableware, was AMAZING. It made everything so much less stressful... and all of the in-house vendors are very good at their jobs. Which brings me to
4) The food was 11/10 delicious. Maybe I am biased in saying its the best wedding food I've had, but many of my guests told me the same unprompted. It is so good!
5) The prices can't be beat! I would have expected it to be twice what I paid. Obviously, a huge reason to use this venue.
Cons:
1) This is small, but made our wedding look so tacky. We had pre-paid a certain amount of the bar so our guests would have an open bar. For some reason, the venue had a big tablet on the guest side of the car (where the bartenders couldn't even see it, so why was it there?) with a countdown of how much money had been spent on alcohol throughout the evening. I didn't notice it or else I would have asked them to remove, but I woke up the morning after my wedding to multiple social media posts from my friends pointing it out. It looked just so tacky.
2). The flowers. This is a hard one. The in-house florist is clearly very talented at her work, which was why I hired her. I am a big fan of letting professionals do what they do best, so I gave her total creative freedom with just three requests - no roses, a cascading bouquet for the bride, and a blush/burgundy color scheme. We had multiple in-person meetings to discuss this. The day of the wedding, she delivered a set of stunningly beautiful bouquets/boutonnieres. However, each one contained roses, the bride's bouquet was not cascading, and the color scheme was white/purple. I have no idea what happened and was very disappointed. The only saving grace was that they were absolutely beautiful. So... I guess I would recommend her but be sure she is actually listening to what you're asking for.
3) Size. This isn't really a "con" if you know in advance, but they market as a 175 person venue. We had less than 90 guests and it was packed full. I wouldn't have more than 100 people there.
Overall.... I would definitely recommend this to anyone needing a beautiful venue for a smaller guest list. Just be aware you will need to stay on top of communication, but thats not a huge deal given all the good things that you get.
Plans changed for our big day many times and Jefferson Tower was so flexible! They were attentive and so helpful in venue set up and the meal was absolutely delicious!! I’m looking for more excuses to have parties there now!
I knew I wanted to get married in Oak Cliff where my family and I live, and I was so excited when I learned that Silka, Trey, and Elizabeth Sanchez have been hosting weddings and quinces at Jefferson Tower for the past 3 years. So, it's an up and coming venue which means that it is still affordable and unique.
From the 8th floor of Jefferson Tower you have perfect views of the Dallas skyline. And, there are wraparound windows that let in so much great light. It's an Art-Deco styled building, and it has been lovingly restored. This suited my own boho-art-deco style, and it was love at first sight.
I'm a teacher and in graduate school, so wedding planning isn't the easiest thing to do. That was okay because JTE has in-house catering, florist, and bakery. I loved that it was a one-stop shop, and it made it so much easier to make decisions and keep track of things. Silka is a super talented florist, and Elizabeth is super talented event coordinator. They both supported my vision for the wedding, and they both worked super hard to bring it to life...
In fact, when I first saw my centerpieces and my custom-made circular arch, I was blown away. It was more ornate and romantic than I ever could have envisioned. I truly had a Pinterest-worthy wedding because of how gorgeous my florals were.
They use El Ranchito and La Calle Doce (two beloved, established Mexican food restaurants in Oak Cliff) as their catering kitchen, so our appetizers were phenomenal.
The venue rental includes so much more than you can even hope for, and what they don't have, they will get for you. So, they added gold flatware to my tables. They have all kinds of furniture in storage that you can rent from them to configure the space to your liking. It is so easy to customize the space.
Also: they are really freaking nice. That means something to me, especially since some venues in Dallas are kind of, well, prissy.
My guests loved having a gated parking lot. A security officer is provided, too. It's also DOG-FRIENDLY (for the Dog of Honor or Best Dog of the Bride & Groom)
Oh, and one last thing: I had my ceremony and reception in the same space. I even got hair and makeup done onsite in their bridal suite. It's small and a little bit warm, but we didn't mind.
Thank you to JTE for making my wedding so blissful. My Nana said she's never been to a prettier wedding in all of her 85 years on the planet. ;)
I had very mixed feelings working with Jefferson Tower Events throughout the planning process and on our wedding day. What brought us to choose the venue to begin with was that it was in a neighborhood we loved, looked beautiful inside, was all inclusive, and was within out prices point.
Some of the pros:
- All inclusive: I cannot tell you how much stress this saved me. Not having to worry about a caterer or florist took at lot of stress out of planning. Not to mention their provided food and flowers are absolutely beautiful.
- Beautiful space: We got SO many compliments on how beautiful the space was. It feels so intimate and so spacious at the same time. The beauty of it speaks for itself and it made it easy since it didn't need very many decorations to look gorgeous.
- The food: OH MAN the food was SO amazing. We had so many guests telling us even days after the event that it's one of the best dinners they've had in a long time, let alone a catered wedding meal! For any bride and grooms who are foodies and want to make a statement with the meal, this is definitely the place to do it.
Some of the cons:
- Communication: The 11 months we were planning the wedding, I felt iffy the entire time about the venue not being on the same page as me. I tried very hard to not be a "bridezilla" and be very patient in waiting for email responses. But quite honestly, I really had to hound them to get information that I think is totally reasonable for a couple to have regarding their own wedding - and sometimes it took multiple follow ups and even then I would at times received very short responses. For example, we booked the venue in June but did not have a completely finalized invoice until about December. Which might not be an issue for some, but we were on a budget and had to be cognizant of money and making payments. Also, on the day of the wedding my bridesmaids had to end up setting up a lot of my decorations. The coordinator called my MOH about an hour before the ceremony asking if anyone was coming down to set up. Never were we told we needed to help set up in the months leading up, and we had been at the venue for 2 hours before anyone told us. Had I known, I would have made sure we had plenty of time to do so and I would have been able to help! That was stressful and disappointing to deal with the day of. Luckily I had put very detailed notes on all of the boxes containing decorations explaining what was in them and where they needed to go, otherwise I'm not sure we could have pulled it off.
Overall, I think this venue has a lot going for it and I do truly think it was perfect for me and my husband on our wedding day. It was very "us" and I'm very thankful to have worked with them. However, they really need to work on proactive communication. A bride should not have to feel like she's being an inconvenience for asking questions about her own wedding, especially one she's paying good money to have. Hopefully the venue can work in the future to make this aspect of their service better.
Jefferson Tower Events wound up being the perfect venue for our wedding reception. Their big appeal is everything's in-house, including the food, bar, and floral arrangements. Better yet, the quality of their service is amazing. They could easily charge guests twice as much - but I sure hope they don't :)
