We cannot recommend Jen Strunk Events enough for Full Planning services! From venue search to napkin selection, she made planning our outdoor, tented wedding a fun and collaborative experience. With everything needing to be brought in, she assembled the perfect team of vendors within our budget. Her local expertise and strong vendor relationships made the process seamless and stress-free.
On the wedding day, Jen and her team managed every detail—from early morning hair and makeup to late-night venue breakdown. When a guest had a medical emergency just minutes before I walked down the aisle, her team sprang into action. They kept everyone calm, adjusted timelines with vendors, and kept us informed, ensuring the rest of the event ran flawlessly. Some guests didn’t even realize anything had happened!
Despite the incident (the guest was back to the party by cake!), the day exceeded our expectations. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about how wonderful everything was, and no detail was overlooked.
If you’re looking for a professional, knowledgeable planner with deep ties to the Southeastern Connecticut community, Jen is the one to call. We are so grateful for her and would choose her again in a heartbeat!
Where to begin! Jen was a fantastic planner and partner throughout our wedding process. Her intimate knowledge of vendors both large and local helped us in executing our vision with great partners every step of the way, in everything from our rehearsal dinner, the welcome party, to the big day itself. She was highly organized and great at pacing out decision-making, so things never became too overwhelming. When it came to the day-of, she was on top of everything, including unplanned weather that required re-working our ceremony and cocktail hour. She took these challenges in stride, and we never had to worry about a thing. You cannot put a price on the peace of mind that Jen provided not only on the wedding day, but over our year and a half of working together. We already miss working with her!
We hired Jen for the Day of Coordination, which was an excellent choice! I felt like I had a good grip on the wedding planning itself, but I was worried about how things would flow day-of. Jen offered her advice and expertise, not only on days leading up to the wedding, but throughout the entire wedding planning process. We had an initial meeting early on, and dove deep into wedding details month-of. Hiring Jen was such a relief! She assisted in creating a detailed timeline and was able to get all my vendors on the same page. Day-of everything was setup correctly, and the event flowed perfectly! I would highly recommend Jen for her Event Coordination services!
Jen was an absolute pleasure to work with!! Truly the number one best decision we made for our wedding was hiring Jen and her team. The second she stepped in, a weight was lifted off my shoulders and I knew everything would turn out beautifully. She handled all the vendor coordination and even dealt with some frustrating issues we had with our venue in the final weeks before our wedding. Jen and her team made the day of our wedding completely stress free and everything flowed so seamlessly. Our ceremony was off site at a private residence and Jen and Maura coordinated all the logistics for us so we were able to be fully present on our wedding day. We did not have to worry about one single thing. Jen was incredibly professional and kept us on a timeline allowing everything to run so smoothly. We are just incredibly grateful to her and her team for making our wedding everything we had hoped it would be, and more!! I cannot recommend Jen enough, truly the best decision we made!!!
We chose Jen as our wedding planner, and from the start, she brought a wealth of guidance, insight, and organization to the planning process. She was attentive to details, shared creative ideas, and helped us stay on track through every decision. We truly appreciated her expertise, which made the planning phase smooth and enjoyable, allowing us to head into our wedding day feeling prepared and confident.
When we initially booked with Jen, it was communicated that she would be present on our wedding day, along with at least one person rom her team. By the time our wedding rolled around, Jen had booked another wedding on the same day and planned to float between the two events. However, Jen was unexpectedly unable to show up to our wedding at all, and her team member ran point from beginning to end. Unfortunately, we felt Jen’s team member wasn’t fully set up for success and did not have the breadth of experience Jen has. As a result, a few key details we’d discussed with Jen didn’t go as planned and led to hiccups during the wedding itself. Jen was very apologetic afterward and kindly treated us to dinner to make up for the issues, which we appreciated.
Overall, Jen is a skilled planner who made the lead-up to our wedding stress-free, but I’d recommend confirming her presence on the day itself if you’re considering booking.
Working with Jen made wedding planning as stress free as wedding planning can possibly be! We were definitely able to relax and enjoy our day so much more knowing that everything was carefully considered and taken care of. Her relationships with other vendors in the area also contributed to a seamless experience, and made us feel at ease with every big decision made and contract signed. We were going to try to plan our large and quickly approaching wedding ourselves. HA! We were prioritizing frugality due to the amount of invited guests, and thought that a wedding planner would be a little over the top. We quickly realized we needed to invest in 'day of coordination' services for our sanity and reached out to Jen in a pinch. Best money spent all around.
Jen and I go wayyyyy back (hey elementary school!) and when I saw her work, I knew she would be the perfect fit. Kind, organized, detail oriented, highly respected and BOSS with a capital B. From day 1, Jen made us feel at ease and quelled any concern we had. She was cool, calm, and collected in what seemed like a sea of chaos to us. With our input, she helped us create the perfect timeline, make crucial vendor decisions, and plan one hell of a 200+ person wedding! Our day was 100% stress free thanks to Jen. She even brought the nice weather!

We used Jen for her partial planning and would recommend her to anyone! Jen was super communicative and answered any question of mine, big or small, and always with a smile. She picked a fantastic team of vendors that I was so grateful for!! For the rehearsal and day of the wedding, she was super relaxed, which helped set a calm environment. And she was also super discrete and only came up to my husband and I as we were needed throughout the night. I was able to fully relax on my wedding day and not worry about a thing because I was so confident she had it under control! Thank you Jen for allowing us to have the best wedding day ever!
Of all the details we booked for our wedding Jen was hands down the best money we ever spent. She is not only a fantastic planner with years worth of knowledge and connections in the industry but she is also an extraordinary human being. My husband and I booked her Consultation & Coordination package and for us it was the perfect mix of still getting to book things ourselves while also having an expert opinion on board and all of the help for day of that made everything go smoothly. Every time we had a question she was readily available with options and answers. If we were having difficulty deciding on a vendor she would streamline the process and give us 3 or 4 suggestions based on the vibe we were going for, and let me tell you she was spot on every time, and many of the vendors we booked on her suggestion turned out to be our favorites overall. Even through battling weather forecasts, issues with our accommodations, and challenging florist drop offs I as the bride didn't know there was ever a hiccup because she had it all handled with plans A through Z all lined up with perfect detail. If we could do it all over again we would book her in a heartbeat and I highly suggest you do too!!
My husband and I went back and forth on whether we needed a day-of coordinator. After speaking with our photographer (Shaina Lee Photography), she highly recommended we hire one and connected us with Jen. During our first call with Jen, it became abundantly clear that she loves what she does and that she's fantastic at her job. We ended up hiring Jen Strunk Events to help us with our 5/13/23 wedding at Smith Farm Gardens. We were specifically looking for help with timeline management, decor set-up/breakdown and an extra set of eyes since we had a "DIY" style venue.
Once we hired Jen, we started working with Maura, who handles the day-of management weddings. Maura was truly a god-send. Since we were planning an outdoor wedding under a tent, I had endless questions and concerns that she was super responsive to and always managed to ease my anxieties. She willingly did endless floorplan layouts when I just couldn't decide how I wanted my reception space set-up. She also took over communications with all vendors, which was one less thing for my husband and I to worry about as the wedding got closer. As a Type A bride, I was absolutely giddy when I opened the decor spreadsheet. The spreadsheet covered everything from ceremony decor to the bathroom baskets and was very thorough so that everything was set-up like we envisioned.
If you are debating hiring a day-of coordinator, this is your sign to! After our wedding, my husband and I looked at each other and quite literally said "What would we have done without Maura?". Maura and Chrissy were everywhere on the wedding day. They made sure that us and our wedding party were where we had to be and when, they managed vendors and they made sure we had absolutely nothing to worry about, except what we wanted to drink next. Jen is such a special person and incredibly talented Wedding Coordinator/Planner. Last year I attended a friend's wedding that Jen helped plan. I had a chance to meet her at the wedding and instantly knew that I wanted her to come on as my wedding coordinator for my upcoming wedding. It was one of the best decisions I made! Jen was so helpful from Day 1 - she was always patient, understanding, funny & kind. She helped us bring our vision to life & kept me on track through a year of wedding planning. We had our wedding in August, and it went off without a hitch because of Jen and her team. She coordinated the other vendors so beautifully & made sure that the event ran smoothly from start to finish. My favorite memory of Jen at my wedding was when I arrived at the venue. We had a bit of time to kill, so she came in, said hi & gave me an update that a few decor choices I had made, had to be altered to stand up against the strong winds that day (outdoor wedding, on the water). I completely understood but greatly appreciated her giving me the heads up just to manage my expectations. When I had a moment to take in the decor & set up during the cocktail hour, I was blown away. Jen made the whole event look gorgeous and thought of everything - nothing blew away in the wind due to her attention to detail & it looked even better than the vision of the day looked in my head.
Jen was so kind to everyone at the wedding, but was also gently but firmly moving the event along. It wouldn't have been the perfect day without her. I recommend her highly!!
We recently brought our lawn games to an absolutely gorgeous wedding that Jen planned in East Haddam, Connecticut and were so impressed by her insight, communication, and organization, both leading up to and at the event. Even with needing to switch to Plan B for the inclement weather, it was smooth sailing and everyone had the best time. She was so easy going, ON IT, and super fun to work with— we can't recommend her enough!!

Jen and her team are the best of the best! I can not recommend her more. Jen met with me on all of my visions and executed with such attention to detail and class I was amazed. The venue looked better than I had ever imagined. Her calm nature put me at ease and made me so comfortable and relaxed on my wedding day. She has amazing taste as well, if you are like me and don’t know the exact look or style you are going for right away she will guide you and help in doing so. Hiring a planner or day of coordinator is so essential these days and I wouldn’t look any where else. XO
Jen was the second vendor we booked after we selected our venue. My husband and I knew my anxiety would be on a “no holds barred” kind of roll and we wanted to make sure I felt secure in things getting done the way we wanted and Jen was the person for the job. I appreciated how quickly she answered emails and texts and even responded to posts I made in the wedding FB group asking for suggestions. I felt supported through the whole planning process even though we only booked her for day-of coordination (and not partial planning). Having her on our vendor team allowed me to not feel nearly as anxious on my wedding day as I had anticipated and I will forever be grateful for that!
Jen and her team are absolutely phenomenal at what they do. I did not have to worry about a single thing on my wedding day because they were so on top of it. They made the most out of my decor repurposing it in ways that I did not even think of. When I saw the venue for the first time I was in awe at the work they put into it. They made sure I had everything I needed throughout the night including food, drinks, and even helping me change into my second dress after they had just bustled my dress. I recommend them so much if you are considering a day of coordinator for your big day. Jen was so helpful on our day and also for the time leading up to it to answer any questions my mom or I had.
Hiring Jen was the best thing we did! She was easy to communicate with, answered all of our questions, had great insight on how to make our wedding day perfect, and was the key to making our day unforgettable. She has so much knowledge about the local industry and her existing relationships with our vendors definitely made a difference. Even when a few things out of our control didn't go as planned the day of (which is inevitable), her calmness and swift fixes kept us at ease throughout the entire event. Jen Strunk was a pleasure to work with. I feel so lucky to have found her as there aren't that many day-of coordinators in the area. Although our venue did have managers that claimed to do day-of coordination, we are so happy we decided to have Jen as someone to advocate for me and my husband's wishes for the day. We had great service from the banquet managers, but at the end of the day, they are so busy with managing the food, catering, etc. Thank GOD we had Jen because we had a major snafu with a delay of one of our performers. Jen took the initiative to call them to figure out the solution and keep us posted as well as make suggestions about how to alter our timeline. If Jen had not called, we would not have been informed and it would have been much more stressful than it was. She was very professional and worked well with all our other vendors. We cannot recommend her enough.

Immediately after our initial phone call, I knew in my heart that we were in the best possible hands. I was on the fence about hiring a day-of coordinator since our venue already had one. I read somewhere that the venue coordinator works for the venue, your day-of coordinator works for YOU. As someone who tends to have a doormat personality, this line really sold me. We initially hired Jen for day-of coordination, but quickly realized just how invaluable she'd be and upgraded our package to include planning.
Jen's design board, personalized for our wedding, took my breath away. It felt as though she crawled into my brain, took notes, and then made my vision ten times better. Every phone call, email, and text message, put me at ease. I freaked people out because of how calm I was in the week leading up to my wedding. I just told them "Jen's got it handled!" It's all because of Jen that our families and we were able to relax and enjoy our special day.
She always made us feel like we were the only wedding on her agenda. This is truly Jen's calling because everything seems so effortless. Every vendor we worked with (at Jen's recommendation) said the same thing - "You got Jen?! You're so lucky!" And we couldn't agree more.
I cannot put a price on the headaches, nervous energy, and decision fatigue that she wiped away with her magic wand.

Hire Jen! You will not regret it! We hired Jen in early 2021 for our June 2022 wedding for her day of coordinator package. She has been a pleasure to work with the entire time--timely in her email responses, so organized and helped us navigate some difficult situations we dealt with while planning. On the day of our wedding, Jen just calmed all my worries and I didn't have to stress the entire day. I knew I was in good hands!
I'm not going to lie. My now husband initially scoffed at the idea of a day of coordinator, calling it a "waste of money", thinking we could handle everything ourselves. Well...fast forward to the day of our wedding, and one of the first things he said to me was "the second I walked in the venue and saw Jen pulling everything together, I knew we didn't have to worry about anything, and could just relax and enjoy our wedding day. It was probably the best thing we spent money on." I don't think I need to say more about how amazing Jen's day of services are then my completely stubborn and frugal husband eating his words :D.
Not only did she make our wedding day absolutely seamless (I mean we literally didn't have to deal with any logistics...), she was also a huuuuuge help during the planning process. I was a long distance bride, who didn't know the area well, and she was there every step of the way to answer all of my questions, from vendor recommendations, to measurements, to floorplans and beyond. We are so happy we hired Jen! The venue we chose required you to hire a caterer and rent all the necessities such as linens, glassware etc. Jen knows exactly how to do it and tries her best to stay in your budget. Jen is so kind and calm no matter what hick up may occur. I can not say more nice things about Jen. If you are on the fence about hiring a wedding coordinator, just do it! You will not regret it and you most certainly need Jen in your corner.
You need to hire Jen!! I was a very type A bride and for many months I didn’t think I would even need a day of planner. I finally decided that no matter how organized I was, having someone there the day of to take all my anxiety and worry away about vendors showing up and things being set up properly is exactly what I needed. Not only is Jen professional, and beyond organized, she is also a friend. From our first phone call, I felt like I had known her forever. Jen was so much more than a “day of” coordinator. Right from the start jen attended a site visit with us, was always a message away and was also my hype girl throughout the planning process. When I would get excited about the next crafty thing I did it was so fun to message her about it, as most of those things I wanted to be a surprise for my bridesmaids / wedding guests. Jen was also so quick to answer any of my random questions like how exactly do these meal cards work? And so much more. On my wedding day, Jen was amazing. The morning of I texted her an SOS message of my father and brother attempting to get our ceremony arch in place. We laughed about it knowing they did their best but I knew Jen was on it and would be there to fix the flowers and the drapes. Additionally Jen delivered my day of gift to my husband, helped all of the boys get their boutonnières on and so much more. During the ceremony Jen made everything run so smoothly. My parents commented on how “sharp and on the money” she was. I honestly had the most perfect wedding day and I can’t say enough positive things. Thank you so much Jen!
First off, if your not sure about hiring a day of coordinator think again! After talking with Jen on our initial phone call I realized I was crazy for thinking I didn’t need one! Jen was AMAZING. Not just on the day of the wedding but the months and days leading up to it! If I was stressing about something (which I always was) just talking with Jen calmed me down. She always reassured me everything would be just fine. She also knows the Branford House venue like the back of her hand so if your doing your wedding there hiring her is a MUST. Her assistant Sarah who I met on the day of was also wonderful! I can’t say enough about these ladies. Highly recommend a million times!!!
Jen went above and beyond as the day planner for my wedding at the Branford House in Groton CT! Jen was truly the glue that kept my wedding together in the final weeks leading up to the event. She has an incredibly calming way about her that makes all of your wedding stress disappear. Around the time of my wedding, a family member of mine faced an unexpected personal health challenge, and Jen really stepped up in ways I never thought possible to make sure the vision for my wedding came true. She is extremely responsive, professional and resourceful. Her passion for weddings truly shines through, and you can tell that she genuinely enjoys what she does. Jen is an angel who really worked hard to ensure my wedding day was perfect, and it was! I highly recommend using Jen's services for your wedding. You will not be disappointed!
Jen was absolutely fantastic as my day of coordinator. She went above and beyond what I could've imagined. She's very responsive and always has great advice on how to handle various wedding planning challenges. We postponed from 2020 to 2021 and she reached out to all of my vendors to help select the new date. During the day of the wedding she was super helpful and made sure anything we needed was handled. She is really wonderful to work with!
Hiring Jen as our day of coordinator was one the best decisions we made while planning our wedding! We postponed our wedding one year due to covid and Jen was right there with us to help with that. We had some vendor changes through out postponing and even switched to a different venue. Jen was always available to answer questions along the way. We were able to talk on the phone when needed which helped put me at ease with planning. We had an outdoor ceremony and a tented reception at a local museum. Jen was able to help us with our rental order, tent layout and figuring out the property! During our walkthrough and rehearsal Jen was so helpful. Jen checked in with all of our vendors to be sure our wedding went smoothly and that it did! Our decorations were all set up perfectly, the timeline was great and everything was perfect! We cannot thank/recommend Jen enough for making sure we had the best day!

Our wedding went off without a hitch, and neither my wife or I had to deal with any vendors day of because Jen was always in the background taking care of everything.
If I ever get married again (which I don't intend to), I will definitely give Jen another call!
Jen Strunk's exquisitely beautiful work really shows that the love is always in the details. Her events will not only make you and your guests feel festive and happy, but they will also make you feel right at home and welcome immediately. I stumbled upon Jen on Instagram and boy am I glad I found her! We just got married on Friday 6/11/21 at Eolia Mansion in Waterford and our wedding day would have been a whole lot more stressful if it weren’t for Jen. Eolia is not a traditional venue that has a designated wedding coordinator so I hired Jen for “day of” coordination services and it was the best decision I could have made. First off, she is so sweet and nice and was a pleasure to work with. Her communication and organizational skills were impeccable! My husband and I were truly able to enjoy our day because of the peace of mind we had knowing Jen was there to make sure everything ran smoothly. 100% worth the investment!!!!
SO COMFORTING AND ORGANIZED! Jen was our guardian angel for the month leading up to and the day of the wedding. At the time… we were kind of a mess. We had been planning our wedding for nearly two years and, given the ever-changing Covid regulations, were struggling to figure out how to accomplish a socially distanced/safe wedding that still satisfied our vision. It is safe to say that we could not have pulled this off without Jen’s guidance, enthusiasm, and calming presence. She offered so many creative and fun solutions that made the wedding feel safe (adhering to ALL state guidelines) while remaining intimate and sincere. She became the point person for all of our vendors and alleviated so much of our stress.
The week before the wedding, we were faced with ANOTHER challenge. A large storm at the beginning of August had knocked out power for the majority of Connecticut, including our wedding venue. We were at a loss and were even considered postponing two days before the actual day due to the fact that it seemed the power would not return. Until we spoke with Jen that is. She had already come up with a plan with the help of Taylor from WT Rental and Services to run the entire event on generators, even going as far to offer her own personal generator from her home. Talk about a personal commitment to her clients! Being comforted and regaining some enthusiasm, we went through with the wedding and it was PERFECT. My wife and I were able to enjoy our day, stress free, knowing that Jen was in complete control. She even found DJ John Cardona when our original DJ cancelled less than 24 hours before the ceremony… She’s THAT good. Jen is a problem solver and made a point to provide plausible solutions before we were even aware of several issues. Our interactions with her were always reassuring, fun, and organized. We owe so much to her for her for her tireless effort, willingness to go above and beyond, and personal dedication to us and our special day. THANK YOU JEN!

Jen is AMAZING!! Hiring her as our day-of coordinator was the best decision we made. I wasn’t sure I needed a DOC, but she came so highly recommended we decided to book her, and I am so glad we did! She answered all of my questions and gave me advice as we went through the planning process. But having her in that last month leading up to the wedding was so incredibly helpful, and really took a lot of stress and pressure off of me. I had a million questions in the weeks leading up to the wedding, and she was there every step of the way. She made sure all of our vendors were on the same page, which helped so much. We almost chose to trust our venue coordinator who insisted we didn’t need a Day Of Coordinator, but I’m so happy I stumbled onto Jen’s website and read her “my venue has a coordinator, why do i need a DOC?” before doing so. One phone call with Jen and I knew we had to hire her. Jen was committed to doing everything she could to insure we had the perfect day we’d envisioned.... and she succeeded! Whatever hiccups may have come up throughout the day went unnoticed by my husband and I as we enjoyed our day to the absolute fullest extent. Jen took care with all the little details, including picking up our cake, setting up our memory table, making our sweetheart table & chairs look just right, and most importantly making sure we got a special platter of cocktail appetizers just for us!

I'm so glad we hired Jen as our ceremony coordinator. She helped plan and set up the most amazingly beautiful wedding ceremony at a location where we had to do all the work for rentals, set-up, and break-down- including chairs, floral, and speakers/microphone and other decorations. I trusted her with all these tasks the day of and it completely eliminated any stress I had about making sure things were perfect- she made the space look beautiful and helped everything run without a hitch!
It wasn't until after the wedding that I found out there was a major problem with the chair rentals - something that would have likely ruined my spirits on such an important weekend. She fixed the problem very professionally without letting me know there were any bumps in the road. And everything turned out perfectly as planned in the end.

Jen is incredible! She made sure our wedding day went perfectly from beginning to end. She knows all the questions to ask and made sure that everything was perfect for us. Leading up to our wedding and on the big day working with Jen was a great experience!! Jen had so many tips and tricks for us and had some awesome vendor recommendations! Jen is extremely organized, which I loved! All we needed to do was fill out a couple forms and she made our day absolutely perfect! Jen was in contact with all our vendors leading up to the wedding, she created and distributed our wedding timeline and made sure the whole day ran smoothly! Hiring Jen was quite honestly the best decision we made for our wedding. She made everything so easy, helped me to get totally organized, talked to all my vendors for me so everyone was on the same page, set up my entire reception (my caterers said they could handle this, but I wanted my caterers to COOK, not decorate), then had everything broken down and packed up in record time. She did a lot of other things too, but those are the most important. I loved being able to just relax and enjoy my reception and not have to worry about a thing (even my mom and aunt, who are the total DIY type, admitted it was great having her there) Her price is incredibly reasonable too. We used Jen Strunk Stationery & Events for all our stationery needs for our wedding. I was originally veering towards the "who cares, people are just going to throw this stuff out, we can get them at Michael's or seomthing" attitude. Boy, was I glad to be wrong on that one. It's your WEDDING, it's supposed to be special!
From the start, Jen was nothing short of charming, friendly, and incredibly professional. She brought her wealth of knowledge and experience and assisted in small ways that went above and beyond her "call of duty." She was kind and flexible (but firm!) when it came to keeping us on our "loose deadlines" to ensure that our mailings went out on time.
Her inventory is something out of a fairy tale (I'm talking Beauty and the Beast library!) and she will go to the ends of the earth to make sure your vision becomes reality. She was consistently timely (and incredibly forgiving when we weren't!) When my husband and I first met with her, my husband had less than any input, but a few days later came up with a slew of requests and preferences that he wanted included (typical groom...) Jen did not request that we meet with her again, instead, she was able to include his needs/wants/desires into what had already been planned and corresponded through email. She was always timely when communicating whether through email, Facebook, or by phone.
Our stationery included Save the Dates, Wedding Invitations, RSVP Cards, Reception/Guest Information Cards, Thank You Cards, and the coordinating envelope for each. She even turned our Pinterest dream of Mad Libs RSVP cards into a reality and people are still talking about them to this day!
Her pricing was more than fair and extremely reasonable, especially considering the craftsmanship and precision that goes into the products she produces.
Since my wedding, I have directed all of my newly engaged friends her way. I will always appreciate how she went above and beyond (including listening to me cry about things that were not paper-related!) to ensure that my wedding needs were taken care of. She has gained a life long client and I would highly recommend her!
