I recommend Jenny Tavor Custom Catering. We needed strictly Kosher catering for my daughter's wedding in Houston. If you are looking for a caterer that cares about customer service and making sure you are happy, then I recommend Jenny. She quickly responded to texts, emails, and phone calls. She gave us options and really considered our particular dietary and Kosher needs. On the day of the wedding, Jenny and her professional team handled everything! I felt relaxed because Jenny had everything under control and there was no need to micromanage anything! We also had her prepare a Kosher Brunch for our out-of-town guests for the next day and she handled that task as well. Although I live outside of Texas, if I ever need to cater an event in the Houston area, I would absolutely call Jenny!

Our family is happy to recommend Jenny Tavor as the caterer for your special event. We were coming from out of state to have a wedding in The Woodlands and looked online for a kosher caterer. We found Jenny and were so lucky as everything turned out perfect. Jenny gave us a draft proposal for the meals and then we fine-tuned it with our likes and dislikes until the bride and groom were completely happy with the selection. We only met her twice in person and did the rest by phone and email. It was really a major endeavor with millions of moving parts and so many things could have gone wrong, yet thankfully, nothing did. We needed kosher meat for Friday night and Saturday lunch, and kosher dairy for the Sunday wedding. Somehow, she was able to handle it all and coordinate every aspect of the wedding as it related to the meals - the use of the kosher kitchens; kosher supervision on-site; the renting of all of the tableware from dishes to glasses to flatware to trays to pitchers, etc.; the renting of kitchen equipment such as ovens and hot boxes, refrigerated trucks, linens, tables and basically anything you can imagine for a DIY wedding, 40 miles outside of Houston. She even took charge of all the bar service including purchasing the wine and liquor and mixers, etc. Nothing seemed to get her worried or upset and wedding day she was so calm and in control of the situation. The food looked and was delicious. The cocktail party with the stations and passed hors d’oeuvres were just how we planned. The plated dinners came out with ease and looked lovely and tasted delicious. The dessert bar at the end was just how the bride and groom wanted, with ice cream cones and cookies and brownies and other bite-sized desserts. Overall, Jenny did a wonderful job and worked very hard on our wedding. There were no surprises at the end, everything was executed with grace and professionalism and the serving staff was very attentive to our guest's needs. We have no reservation in recommending Jenny Tavor Custom Catering and please know she provides kosher as well as non-kosher catering services.

My experience with Jenny Tavor Custom Catering was incredible! My fiance and I are from Birmingham, Alabama, but decided to have the wedding in Houston, Texas due to unexpected circumstances. In the winter of 2017 I fell in love with the love of my life. Soon we were engaged, and excitedly planning a trip to meet my parents. We made the trip, and visited with my mother who looked visibly unwell. I was worried about her health. About a week after the trip, my mother was admitted to the emergency room and after many tests she was diagnosed with stage 4 multiple myeloma. I was beside myself! Our plans to have a wedding in Birmingham, Alabama with my parents attending were discarded, and I and my fiance immediately began planning for a wedding in Houston so that she could attend. Not being from Houston, I was not sure how I was going to manage to take care of everything that needed to be done to have the type of wedding my fiance and I wanted. Then I found Jenny. She was a Godsend! We spoke over the phone several times, and planned a sit down meeting for the next time we were in Houston visiting my mother. The day for our meeting came and as soon as I shook Jenny's hand I knew we were in excellent hands. She was incredibly professional, helped with picking out colors while deferring to our wishes, knowledgeable, and we could see she wanted to make sure we had the wedding of our dreams. She took care of everything, stayed within our budget, and went the extra mile by sending food to my parents on numerous occasions for Shabbat meals leading up to, and after our wedding! Free of charge! The day of our wedding arrived, and Jenny had everything under control. Everything was beautiful, tasteful, her staff was wonderful, and the food was absolutely delicious. We were even able to take some with us when we left, to enjoy later at the hotel. I recommend Jenny 100%. She is professional, confident, has great taste, is kind, and knows what she is doing. A wedding is stressful enough for a bride, but Jenny took the worry and the stress out of it with her expertise. I was able to put everything in her capable hands and focus on my mother and spending time with her. Having my mom at our wedding was so important for me. She was so beautiful and happy to be there. I really don’t even know where to begin. Texas is where my family is, and I live in Los Angeles. My mother who is a local spearheaded all of the planning. She found Jenny. Jenny seemed great in the beginning, I felt like she wanted us to be happy. She had great ideas. She even put us in touch with Aztec rentals, where her friend Elyse works. Her costs were high...and filled with “TBD” but I felt it would all be worth it. When I met her she came along to help us pick out rentals in person, she got us an amazing deal. However closer to the wedding things started to unravel. At our tasting she forgot the dessert for us to try. Sure things happen, I let it go. Next, our chair rentals were cancelled, she knew and told the wedding coordinator (That we pay, and works for us NOT HER) to find us new chairs. She started arguing with my mother, so we went with a new rental company to avoid further conflict. Clearly the rentals were too good to be true. Less than a month away from my wedding and she was emailing my mother and coordinator in all caps over linens. She was acting so unprofessional but I knew my MIL had already paid a large deposit so we went forward. The day of the wedding was a disaster. She had promised so much food, and no one going hungry. No passed food as promised in contract, my guests were drinking but had no food! People were starving, and I was really regretting having my bridesmaids get ready with champagne. They especially needed the nourishment! In the grooms room they were supposed to have food but nothing was there, after my MIL complained enough she went to a grocery store. She returned with mixed nuts and popcorn, which she placed in tacky paper bowls. This is all on my wedding photos....these dollar store looking snacks. She promised my husband and I leftovers knowing we would hardly get a chance to eat, but nothing was set aside for us!!! A few leftovers were given to my grandparents (not for us, or what we asked to set aside), a lot of food was bagged up for staff and herself...but not us. We didn’t even see the dessert at our wedding, it ran out before most guests could get to it. I’m so embarrassed that my friends, and family felt hungry at my wedding. Avoid her at all costs!
