In our early wedding planning conversations, we realized that we wanted our wedding to act as a gathering space; bringing together the most important people of our lives: to laugh, to eat, and to celebrate. We wanted our pictures to serve as memories of our experience and to capture the raw emotions of love and joy - Joe and Jen did just that. Their kindness and appreciation of small moments make everyone comfortable in the presence of a camera. We ended up replanning our 2020 wedding thousands of miles away from Minneapolis and picked our new date solely based on Joe and Jen’s availability—that’s how essential they were to our wedding! There were many moments throughout our day where both Joe and Jen were able to keep us calm, excited, and present. Forever thankful for Joe’s dad jokes and Jen’s ability to keep everyone on track. When we received our photos (and then our incredible fine art wedding album) we cried. The photos didn’t just remind us what happened on our wedding day, they captured exact moods and the feelings that were present in all of our friends and family. We have so much gratitude for Joe and Jen. We can’t wait to work with them again in the future.

They are so fun, easy going, creative, and they seem to have perfected their working partnership. Every move they make seems effortless and I barely noticed when they were taking candid shots. 2) Joe and Jen immediately put you at ease - ESPECIALLY helpful if you don't love having your picture taken. They don't do the standard "fake laughter pose" with your wedding party. They have so many fun and creative ways to get natural reactions and laughter from your families, wedding party, grandparents, little kids - everyone! 3) Joe and Jen are so communicative and supportive. I went to them for suggestions for other vendors and they are more than happy to help! We found our DJ and our groom/groomsmen suits thanks to their recommendations. 4) Joe and Jen took away the stress of planning a wedding day timeline. They have a very thorough questionnaire which is SO HELPFUL. They even ask if there are priority photos you want (for example, I wanted candid pictures with my dad since I don't have any) and they made sure to capture those special moments. Their timeline helped me plan with my other vendors. I can't recommend Joe and Jen enough!

They were INCREDIBLY thoughtful and patient with our extended families and made sure to get the (long) list of 'required' photos taken care of efficiently but didn't make it seem rushed. My entire family loved them! Gosh, I could talk about these two all day, but I'll again just stress they are the best, we cannot recommend these genuinely kind, fun, funny, loving, TALENTED people enough. Joe and Jen took the time to get to know us as a couple, our story, what is important to us, who we love, and how we live our lives. Somehow, they got all of that into beautiful photos for our engagement and of our wedding. We are beyond happy with how our photos turned out, and, just as importantly, we were so thrilled with the level of service, attention to detail, and love they put into the entire process. We had multiple wedding guests comment to us at and after the wedding that Joe was "literally everywhere," and how impressed they were. And it's true! During your engagement photos and wedding day, your photographers are there for literally every second. They are there while you're getting dressed, they are there when you're getting emotional with your family, and they are there when you finally get a moment "alone" with your new spouse immediately after your ceremony. Joe and Jen captured everyone one of these moments with a balance of professionalism and friendship, and it was our true pleasure to work with them for our wedding.

Joe and Jen had us playing games, talking to each other, and sharing our love for each other for the few hours leading up to the wedding. They have a way of working that makes you forget you are taking photos together. The best part about the meeting was that they truly wanted to get to know us, how we met, what we love, our hobbies, what our vision was for our wedding day. It wasn't a 20 minute meeting about what each package will get us, it was so much more. We decided to book before we even got to our car. Our engagement photos were SO fun. It had been our dream to do our photos out on the river on our boat, and we did it! I was super nervous that day, to the point where I thought I was going to throw up. But about two minutes in, my nerves were completely gone. It felt like we were out with friends laughing and enjoying each other's company, and our photos are amazing! In the months before the wedding, Jen helped us plan our timeline and got a list of all photos we wanted that day. She helped us plan in enough time for family photos, and kept us organized, making sure we got every single photo with every family member. It was so important in making sure no one was left out and we got every photo we wanted. Normally during family photos we hear "are we done yet?" constantly. But every single one of our family members enjoyed family pictures. And I have never seen us all laugh so hard during photos. Joe is hilarious! And it shows in our photos, they are candid and fun and really full of joy and life, not staged with forced smiles. It's truly amazing. Our photos went so smoothly we even had extra time to take some couple portraits with our dog, and that ended up being one of my favorite parts of the day. Working with Joe & Jen was by far the best decision we made, our photos are authentic and personal and candid and beautiful and really captured the happiness and joy of our day. It's been over a month and I still get compliments from my family and friends about how much they enjoyed Joe & Jen and how much they absolutely love our photos. We can't wait to work with Joe & Jen for our family photos in the future!

They also have such a good understanding of lighting and capturing special moments. It was really important to us to have 2 photographers so they could capture different angles of our special day, and what better duo than a husband and wife?! The survey they send out a few weeks before your wedding day covers EVERYTHING. It was wonderful to have piece of mind that Joe & Jen had thought of everything and importantly were sensitive to blended/divorced families as that can stress out any bridal couple leading up to and the day of your wedding. Joe and Jen not only met his ridiculously high standard of art aesthetic, they exceeded it :) Choosing a photographer is such a major decision for any bride and groom, but I urge anyone reading these reviews to please contact Joe and Jen for a consultation - here are just a few things I know firsthand you will receive: 1) Attentiveness - what do you want, how do you want it, they not only ask because it is their job, they ask because they care and want to make sure you are getting everything you want and more on your big day 2) Professionalism - sadly, I was probably not the easiest bride to have worked with because I decided not to eat prior to my wedding and woozy following their ceremony when it was picture time :( Joe and Jen were not only accommodating, they were relentless in their pursuit of getting the perfect shots - even if that meant waiting until I did McDonalds run before the reception and getting better :) These two put in way more time than I expected, and I am so appreciative of their work. 3) High Quality - I am amazed at the quality of work Joe and Jen provide - their pricing is ridiculously reasonable for what you receive. I visited with other photographers that had much higher fees and not even close to artistic style nor expert appearance that Joe and Jen's portfolio demonstrated. 4) ROI - so, based on the above three bullets, what I'm really advocating for is the return on investment you receive with Joe and Jen. You will receive so much more than what you pay for.

The benefit of two photographers really shows, as they're able to capture different vantage points during big moments.
