Jo-Lin's Bridal and Formal Wear

First, I would like to say that I am not a poor review kinda person. (Honestly I don’t know if I have ever written one.) But my bridal party, mother, MIL, and I had such an unexpected, poor experience. I had heard such wonderful things, so I booked an appointment for a bridal appointment about 2 months out. Upon arrival, we were less than welcomed by 2 younger employees at the front desk. Told to just pull dresses for whatever size I am and received virtually no help. It was honestly the most awkward appointment I’ve ever been at, which is very disappointing when you are planning to purchase a dress that will cost $2000+. Seemed to have very limited selection and low knowledge of their gowns. Incomparable poor atmosphere and service compared to the other salons I visited and ultimately purchased my dress.

I had a terrible experience looking for my wedding dress at JoLins. When we first walked in, it was not a welcome feeling and were told we could pick out what we wanted. We were carrying all of our things at same time as trying to look through dresses. We were then escorted to a very small dressing room, with no mirror, to get dressed. The initial employees were young and not super friendly. After a bit, other employees came from the back and started helping so randomly - but they didn't listen to what I was wanting and brought literally 20 dresses that were not my style, and I honestly felt obligated to try them all on, which I regret. There was no step up to get on and look at your dress. It wasn't the cleanest place and the first couple of dresses I tried on were dirty. I had high hopes for them, so I was pretty disappointed and honestly never felt comfortable or joyful - I felt so bad for those with me as well. I would not recommend.

Brides please make JoLins your first and last stop for a dress. The ladies at JoLins are super sweet and professional. They went the extra mile to make sure I had a dress I loved. They are all very personable and make shopping a memorable experience.

Jo-Lin’s has a very limited number of wedding dresses. The staff also did not give off the friendliest vibe and also seemed to just pick random dresses For me to try on instead of trying to listen to what my maid of honor were saying I was looking for. Their selection of dresses for anyone looking for over a size 12 (in dress size) or so is also very limited. Kind of odd considering the average size woman in the US is a 14 in street clothes. I honestly wouldn’t recommend this shoo in the future

I was hesitant at first after having a bad experience at a chain store. I made an appointment in which they squeezed me in on such short notice. I was welcome and greeted genuinely. The ladies took their time with me, listened to what my dream dress idea and allowed me to try on several dresses that I thought I like. Not knowing the very first dress I tried on in which the lady picked out for me turned out to be MY DRESS. I was not financially ready to purchase on that date because my intentions were to look around. However the women worked with me and I was able to secure MY DRESS. These women are amazing and honest and I would not had wanted to purchase my dress anywhere else. They truly gave me an amazing experience of purchasing my 1ST bridal gown.

If you need a wedding dress or bridesmaid dress, go here!! Amazing selection and wonderful employees. I felt like family.

I got my wedding dress here and bridesmaids outfits. The young women who had very curly hair helped me pick out my dress and she was wonderful! My dress came in too big, but they let me take it to my own seamstress. Then they let me take it back so I could store it at the shop. Additionally, they steamed it for my bridal portraits and steamed it for my wedding. They did the same thing with my veil. We came back and got my bridesmaids dresses here. All of them fit perfectly and we did not have to get any alterations. Everything took a while to come in (but that was expected), they staff would call me if they thought they would be late and let me know when everything arrived.

My husband and I decided to use Jo-lins to rent the tuxedos for our wedding using the vendor Jim's Formalwear. Our guys were from out of state so we tried to have our guys rent from locations closest to their homes. Jo-lins stated that we could not do this although Jim's Formalwear website states this can be done for parties who have groomsmen in different states. All our groomsmen were from other states. Although, we were unable to have each person order from a different location, we decided to give them a try. Worst mistake ever. The tuxedos came in five days prior to our wedding. We had them picked up the day before our wedding. Any business that deals with such special days would CHECK the orders to ensure the orders were correct prior to distributing them. One of our groomsmens ended up with no pants, shirt, tie, or shoes! And another groomsman had two jackets with his order.They stated they checked the orders before hand! If they did, they would have known all of the mistakes with the order! I was so upset to find this out the day before the wedding, after business hours of course! Imagine a bride running around the day of her wedding trying to find another matching grey suit to match the others! They "tried" to fix the problem by going to Belks and buying pants that didnt match the tuxedos. Luckily, my husband had the opportunity to try on a pair of pants that he ordered. I had a friend that was able to get off work and tailor the extra pants to fit the other guy and lucky enough he was able to fit the jacket that was doubled in the other groomsmens set. Jo-lins almost completely sabatoged my wedding! A bride and groom should not have to worry about something like this the day of their wedding! If you're thinking of using Jo-lins.....DONT! Save yourself the headache!!!

After I bought my wedding dress here, we bought my bridesmaid dresses, my mom's MOB dress, and both of my sisters' prom dresses. I also found some of my wedding-day jewelry here. The staff here are lovely and helpful. They didn't have exactly what my mom wanted for her dress, so they found the one she wanted online and ordered it for her. They also run a deal for brides: If you pay for your dress in full when ordering, everything else you buy at the salon for the rest of the process is 10% off. It was an amazing deal! I'm so glad I got my dress at Jo-Lin's!

Wow! Great experience from start to finish and they know how to deal with your entire wedding party from MOB, bridesmaids, groomen and the little ones. The FIRST wedding goen I tried on was the one after a whole morning at DB. I am a size 22 (regular size) and never thought I would find a beautiful plus size dress that didn’t make me look huge. (I cried after we left the store in relief!) We were even able to order extra lace and in a different color for my exacting nature ;) They were very kind about allowing my seamstress mom take it home and work on it and then get it steamed prior to the wedding—so flexible. I would order my wedding dress, bridesmaid and tuxedos there again without a hesitation. This shop knows their stuff!!! Ladies, bridal dresses come in seamstress sizes which means two dress sizes larger. (A 4 will be an 8, 16 a 20. That’s the breaks in the industry!)

My daughter had a wonderful experience at Jo Lin's. Everyone was so wonderful and attentive. Her dress was absolutely beautiful. The staff was also incredibly helpful and responsive. I would definitely recommend Jo Lin's.

I shopped around for my wedding dress and am so glad I found "the one" at Jo-Lin's. Jo-Lin and her crew were very friendly and laid back. I didn't feel pressure to buy and had the freedom to look around. They have a great selection and prices are good for the quality of dresses that they carry. The seamstress altered my dress to fit me perfectly and I absolutely loved my dress on my wedding day.

What a horrible experience! I made an appointment to look at wedding dresses for my wedding in March next year. I should've known from the phone call that this would not go well. The lady was pushy and kept telling me I was behind on picking out my dress. This was my first bridal boutique so I was pretty excited. When I walked in a young lady approached us. She was already in a bad mood and seemed annoyed that we were even there. I told her I had an appointment at 2:00. She didn't even ask my name, what was I looking for, or my budget. She simply gave me a stack of colored rings and told me to put them on the hanger of dresses I liked. I was there with my parents and we were given no direction at all. We had to ask how the dresses were sorted so we knew where to begin. They had very few dresses to chose from and the dresses that were there were in poor condition. I'm not expecting them to be perfect since they are samples but the majority looked rough and dated. I gave it a chance and looked around at the two rows of dresses. Keep in mind that we were the only people in the store and the staff did not offer to help us at all. I approached her and asked about a specific designer. When I originally called about my appointment I spoke to an older lady and told her which designer and dresses I was interested in and she assured me that she had them. After I finally located the designer they had about 15 dresses to chose from which again, were not what I was looking for. I had to approach the staff again and told her I was looking for a dress with sleeves. Instead of offering me assistance she decided to argue with me that I don't really want sleeves. Last time I checked it's up to me, not her. I understand that brides have an idea of their dress and it doesn't always stay the same but if I want to look at dresses with sleeves, then I'm going to. She kept telling me I needed to try on what they had just to try on one. After putting my foot down that I was not going to do that she brought out another staff member who seemed even more annoyed. I told her again what I was looking for and she told me the same thing. "You think you want sleeves but you don't. No bride ends up buying the dress they think they want originally." At this point I was over the appointment and wanted to leave. She offered me one more option and told me I could pay to have other samples brought in. After the experience I just had with those two young ladies, I was not about to spend over $100 just to have a dress shipped there to try it out. I declined the offer and left the store. I don't think I was even inside for 15 minutes but that was more than enough. Everyone deserves better customer service than that. I would hate for any other bride to go through the same thing. Save yourself the disappointment and go somewhere else!!

Absolutely the best bridal shop, hands down! There are so many dresses from so many different designers to choose from! All of the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. They will help you find your perfect gown. I bought my gown and my bridesmaid's dress here and couldn't be happier!

Wonderful wonderful wonderful! I'm so happy I came here to try on dresses. They have a huge selection, and let you walk around and pick what you want (they also help if you need it). But my mom, mil, and I walked around freely and chose what we liked and then tried them on without being harassed about budget and style and everything. I ended up buying a gorgeous dress that was affordable and chose my bridesmaid dresses here also. The bridesmaids were all long distance so it was a little challenging for me to get everything organized but they helped out a lot and all the girls got their dresses in plenty of time, and only 2 needed alterations! They are able to do fittings within the store and my dress fit perfectly on my wedding day! Super pleased, will recommend to anyone getting married. On top of being a great business, everyone is very friendly and helpful.

Really amazing shop, they have so many different designs and styles and such experienced staff. I came in with one style on my mind but fell in love with a dress that was completely different, one that I wouldn't have tried unless the associate had put in my line up. These ladies know what they're doing!

I went into Jo Lin's Bridal 3 days before my wedding in desperate need of a veil under $200. I found the PERFECT veil there with the help of the lovely ladies who work there. They knew my budget and found me the perfect veil. As a matter of fact, the veil I was in love with cost a smidgen over $200 and they were able to work with me to get it down to something that I could afford. No ordering from a magazine or waiting, I walked out with my veil that day and for that, I thank Jo Lin's Bridal. Can't beat small business friendliness. Definitely recommend to anyone getting married or needing formal dresses. They're selection was amazing, I had to stop myself!

I had the best time dress shopping at Jo-Lin's. The staff was so sweet and helpful. My dress and veil came in quickly and the prices were very reasonable. Love this store!

I bought both my veil ($200) and my dress ($1200) here. After a long day of shopping, I ended up here. They welcomed me and encouraged me. They did not pressure me to go above my budget. They have a variety of dresses from $500-$5000. Wonderful atmosphere! Jo-Lin's can provide bridal gowns, prom dresses, bridesmaid's dresses, some menswear, veils, tiaras, alterations, cleaning, and preserving. I used their services for alterations as well. They were incredibly reasonable for my 7 tier dress.

Shopped at Jo-Lin's and thought their service was fantastic. They were helpful, but didn't suffocate me - they let me have space to shop around and see what I liked and were available to answer questions when needed. They followed up with me after I went in looking for a gown as well. One thing to know before you go - take whatever bra you may want to wear under a bridal gown with you!

I LOVED my dress from Jo-Lin's. They were so helpful and so sweet. They compliment you without having that "sale's tone," meaning, you know they aren't just trying to make a sale, they really mean what they are saying. Couldn't have been happier with my dress. A neat atmosphere at their shop, too. I didn't mind places like David's Bridal finding dresses for me to try on, but I liked being able to look through dresses on my own at Jo-Lynn's. Originally, I wasn't even going for a dress at all like the one I got. But I saw it and just decided to try it on anyway and LOVED it. I highly recommend Jo-Lynn's.

I got my wedding dress, bridesmaids and groomsmen tuxedos rented from here and when an issue came up with the fitting of the tuxes for people they measured in store the owner Linda, especially was rude and blamed us for not having the groomsmen try on their tuxedos sooner, two of the groomsmen are active military and could not get away from their duties any earlier!! Rude and inconsiderate is what you get with this place!! Don't go here there are many other places in Columbia that care about their customers! My wedding planner was spoken to so rudely she will not recommend any further to her brides!!!

Terrible selection, tiny store, and the employees were rude. The lady who helped me acted like I was some huge inconvenience trying on over 3 dresses (I think I tried on like 5). Not a fan! And their prices were higher

I bought my dress from Jo Lins and I absolutely love them! They helped me find the perfect dress and helped me customize it to be my own. All of the employees are wonderful and alterations could not have gone better, especially given the very reasonable price for everything we changed. I would recommend Jo Lins to any bride!

I used this store for my bridesmaid dresses and they turned out amazing! They were helpful an accommodating and my dresses actually came in two weeks earlier than I had planned!

I love my wedding dress from Jo-Lins! Their staff is so nice and patient. I was in so many times between shopping for a dress, veil, etc. and they were always willing to help. I tried on a million dresses and I love the one I chose. Paige is the cutest and helped me almost every time I went. Linda is so sweet and I highly recommend this store!

The ladies at Jo Lins are fantastic. They don't pressure you,they pay attention to you,and they make you feel beautiful. Price is spot on and the selection is excellent.

I love Jo-Lin's and everyone who works there. I had a fairytale dress shopping experience. First the Jo-Lin's group let my friends and family come in after hours to shop. They had wine and cheese for everyone... it was amazing. Then, I had found a dress I absolutely loved the week before and they didn't have the dress. So they found it for me... ordered it and beat the other stores price. I can't say enough great things about jo-lins and the staff!

I found my dress at a different bridal shop originally, but when I found it at Jo-lin's it was over $100 cheaper, plus it was on sale! It was a much more convenient location for me, also. The staff was all very kind and helpful and everything went smoothly! Loved them!

Jo-Lins was the first bridal shop that I went into. Shelley was the one that helped us when we first came in. I told her what I was looking for and asked her to pick some dresses out by that description for me to try on, but she said for us to look around and pick some out ourselves to try on. Well, I didn't like that response and was overwhelmed and just wanted someone to pick some dresses out for me to try on by the description I was telling them. Well, I ended up understanding why she made us do that, because the dress I ended up falling in love with did not match my description AT ALL. She said brides come in thinking they know exactly what they want, but they really don't and they risk not ever seeing the dress of their dreams if they only look for that one type and never look around. I am thankful to Shelley for knowing what she was doing and going against what I was asking her to do. Everything went smoothly with alterations, ect. and I had no issues. They are all very nice and make you feel like the most beautiful bride in the world when you are standing in your dress each time (although they will be honest and tell you when you try on one that does not look good). I would suggest going here and looking.

I loved my experience at Jo Lins Bridal with Linda and her amazing crew! We frequented the shop many times before and after we chose my gown and Linda was always more than available with her input and lovely ideas. We used this shop for my gown, mother-of-the-bride gown, as well as all bridesmaids and flower girls. The dress turned out beautiful and perfect and all of my wedding party was stunning!

I went to several places and finally found my dress at Jo-Lins. The first time I went there, I was a little overwhelmed because I had never tried on wedding dresses before. It is a very relaxed setting and they let you go through the dresses on your own and pick out the ones you want to try on. Once I tried a few stores, I went back to Jo-Lin's with a style in mind. I found the perfect dress with their help. I also used Jo-Lin's for my alterations. Their seamstress was AMAZING. The dress was perfect! I highly recommend going there!

I am a plus sized bride. I was very worried about not being able to find a flattering dress for body shape. They were so helpful and so nice! I also loved working with their seamtress! They made an experience that I thought would be very stressful, so easy and fun! :)

Very helpful staff and good variety of dresses. My dress arrived late and a little more communication from the store would have made me, a nervous bride, feel a little better. My only complaint about the store is the lack of mirrors in the dressing rooms, you are forced to come out in the middle of the store to see how you look. I would like to see myself first, sometimes you don't want things that don't look very good on you advertised for the whole store to see.

Jo Lin's is a fantastic shop! I LOVE the staff and the selection is fantastic. They are so willing to help and serve. The alterations woman is wonderful as well. I think my favorite has to be Shelley... she is amazing and I ended up loving her so much I just had to invite her to the wedding!!! Their dresses are beautiful and I just loved my dress and the price was wonderful. JoLin's was wonderful for me :)

Jo-Lin's is a locally owned and operated store. They are very nice and want a happy bride.

Jo-Lin's made the whole wedding dress shopping experience wonderful! The women there are so helpful and make you feel like a princess in every dress that you try on. They actually picked out the dress that I ended up wearing on my wedding day! If it wasn't for them, I would never have found my perfect dress! They also have tons of ideas for accessories, but aren't pushy and make you buy things from them. They were awesome even after my dress was purchased too. They made sure we had the dress steamed for the portraits and wedding day and gave us lots of advice for keeping the dress looking its best during transport. I suggest Jo-Lin's to every bride!!

I love the girls at Jo-Lins! They put up with me coming in almost weekly for a year and half as I planned my wedding. Never making me feel like the nuisance that I was. Mrs. Linda makes you feel so special and made me feel even more beautiful in my dress. Mrs. Joan is the onsite seamstress and did an amazing job, seems like no job is too big or small for her. I love these girls and they really did an amazing job whether it was keeping my dress in their "vault" clean and secure, having my dress steamed and ready for bridal portraits and for the wedding, having all my groomsmen suited up, or the mother of the groom feeling oh so special on a big day for her as well. They do it all and I could not have been more impressed with their services. I highly recommend them and will use them for any and all formal events my husband and I will take part in, in the future!

I loved working with Jo Lins Bridal. I had a wonderful experience with them. All of the employees were so kind and great to work with. They answered all my questions and made sure that I was happy with every aspect of my experience with them. I will recommend them to everyone!

ALL of the ladies that work in there are so helpful and were able to see things together that I would have been clueless to! Joan knew me by name by the time my wedding rolled around and knew what to do to calm my nerves everytime I came in!!! AMAZING!!!

They were so wonderful and easy to work with. I love very far away from my mom and all we really wanted to do was be able to spend time together trying on dresses just her and I and that is exactly what they let us do. They helped wheni needed it, brought dresses when we wanted and were always available but never in our face. It was such a wonderful experience and I am so glad we went because we found my dress and had the most wonderful time together just mom and I.

Everything about my experience here was great! The ladies helped me find the perfect dress to fit my personality. My dress was unique and the process to get it fitted and finalized was perfect. Their seamstress offers monogramming, highly recommended!

I started looking for my wedding dress more than a year before the date. I tried a "box" store and was offended at the service and that they had to be in the dressing room with you. I was hesitant to try Jo Lin's out b/c I was worried that I would have the same pressure, but that could not have been further from the truth. I didn't need an appointment, I could look at and try on any dress I wanted and the sales people never made me feel like I had to buy a dress from them. When I did buy my dress I bought from them b/c they did such a great job making me feel comfortable and in control.

I found my dress here and was helped immediately each time I came in. The alterations were great and reasonable.

The ladies that run the salon seemed genuinely excited for me even though I know they see brides try on dresses daily! They had an excellent selection of gowns at all price ranges!;They don't take appointments and sometimes they get pretty busy so be patient! It's worth it!

The staff is wonderful - they were always so cheerful and helpful! All of their dresses are gorgeous and I found my perfect dress there with no trouble!

The selection and customer service is excellent. The ladies are very kind and accomodating.
