If you hate yourself hire Laura. She is rude, incompetent, condescending, and not creative. She will charge you extra, so look at your invoices carefully because they are not accurate. She will promise to have things completed by a certain time… they will not be. Some bribes I know who hired her, ended up not being able to send out invitations until 3-4 weeks before wedding despite working on them for 2 years. She refuses to speak with you on the phone. Instead, she will answer one email a day and use that as an excuse for a delay. She is a rude conman. I have no clue how she is in business.

It's been a pleasure working with Laura at Jolly Edition! We had a big vision for our wedding stationary and knew we wanted something completely unique and customized for our date. Laura's vision for our Save the Dates blew us away, and we received so many complements on them. Laura worked with us on our wedding invitations and was receptive and accommodating to all of our design requests. She is very organized and responsive in all email communications. I knew what to expect each step of the way. She is truly a pro & an artist and will make your wedding stationary dreams become a reality.

We had a bad experience hiring Laura for our wedding invitations. She was not accommodating or pleasant to work with at all. The final outcome for our invites was not what we had discussed! I found myself so stressed every time she would email us. A lot of her emails were downright rude. When she finally shipped them out and we were done with the whole process we were so relieved. We paid upwards of 5k for everything

Laura at Jolly Edition was wonderful to work with for our New Zealand destination wedding. She is extremely communicative and deadline-oriented. Most of all, the invitations and map were absolutely gorgeous. She completely turned our vision into reality! So many of our friends told us we had the most beautiful wedding invites they had ever received. Money well spent, and I can't recommend her enough.

Jolly Edition was a joy to work with! Despite a wedding reschedule and a total re-plan of our ideas and concepts, she rolled with the changes and created an even more beautiful set for our wedding. Her artwork now hangs on our walls, and our friends have saved their invitation suites. We moved on to working with her for more personal family art as well!

My finance and I had a wonderful experience while working with Jolly Edition! It can get really stressful planning a wedding and I can not emphasize enough how they made the whole process really joyful. They were always there when/if we had any questions.

Jolly Edition were an absolute joy to work with. I found them via Etsy and was immediately smitten by their work. Paper goods are important to me, and I intended our invitations to be my "splurge" item for the wedding. They worked with my budget so that I was able to use them for our big day. Jolly Edition were friendly and inviting during the information collection process. The forms sent along encouraged us to explain not only what we wanted for our stationary, but also who we are as a couple, and that made me confident that the pieces would be full of our personality. The Pinterest board of images also gave me a way to show off our love as a couple and the aesthetic we were aiming for. I am not exaggerating here: when the proofs came through, I cried! I sent them to my mom and sister immediately and we couldn't get over how perfectly Laura had captured the sentiment and feeling of our relationship and our wedding. I hardly had any feedback, but what I did request was accommodated very quickly and graciously. On the wedding day, the stationary did a wonderful job of tying everything together. Everything was printing on high quality paper and with vibrant ink so they felt weighty and thoughtful. Laura was always responsive, attentive, and kind throughout the entire process. Whenever I had a concern or questions - be it about the artwork or the billing or the shipping - they eased my concerns and took care of everything. They really care about their clients and it shows through both in their work and in their interactions with the people they design for. I highly recommend Jolly Edition!

You guys, seriously, are ridiculously amazing. Our guests RAVED about your work! They were so impressed and loved how unique they are from all other invites. You do your job so well; we are so happy with our decision to go with JE.

This should be the easiest review to write- but nothing sounds great enough to describe Laura’s work. After scrolling through pictures of the same invitations we came across Jolly Edition and immediately we’re hooked. Laura is a pleasure to work with, responsive and provides the easiest solution to you, even when you have made a mistake. Working with Jolly Edition was a dream! They created a number of custom pieces for our wedding and all of them are perfect and have really helped set the tone for the day. Would recommend them 100%! It was also extremely easy to work via email. When I began planning our wedding, I knew that I wanted the day to be a reflection of who we are as a couple. One of the ideas that I had for this was to have a custom illustration of us done for the wedding program. The only issue was how to make this happen! I spent a lot of time searching for someone to do this locally, but never found the right fit or style. After quite a while I came across Jolly Edition's work online. From the moment I contacted them, it felt right. I credit Jolly Edition with bringing the vision I had for our wedding come to life. Choosing our wedding stationery was one of the hardest decisions we made during our wedding planning. We wanted something beautiful, fun and totally unique, stationary that really said something about us as a couple. When we found Jolly Edition's work, we instantly knew that we had found what we were looking for. There is no doubt Laura is extremely talented. However, it was clear to me that she was struggling to cope with the amount of projects she had taken on. Deadlines came and went with no word from her. And even though she kept sending additional invoices, the final invitation was much simpler and more limited than we had discussed at the beginning and for the price. I see on Instagram she does amazing, detailed work for other couples, and I was still fairly happy with what I ended up with, but I was bummed to have my project clearly be low priority.

We’d seen Jolly Edition a couple of years ago, and we instantly knew they were the stationers for us. Basically, they spend a lot of time finding out about us and our interests, and provide completely custom, hand-drawn stationery. We're incredibly pleased with how it's all turned out - it all looks even better in the flesh than we'd hoped! Thank you so much!

I've been working with Laura for almost a decade and she has created beautiful works celebrating the holidays and family events. I've found the research process incredibly helpful in detailing expectations and have always tried to leave plenty of weeks ahead of the anticipated delivery to communicate any corrections. I've always appreciated Laura's willingness to address any concerns throughout the design process. I will be working with her on many more projects!

This business and the artist behind it named Laura Shema are a scam!! Don’t be fooled by her website- she says she’s featured by Bride Magazine and Martha Stuart and all of these reputable sources. I paid her $3,000 for a fully custom wedding invitation suite and it was a complete sham- the work she sent me was so horrible looking and cheap that I couldn’t even use it for my wedding. When I asked her to fix it she said “per our contract” I could only request an hour worth of changes and the rest I had to PAY FOR. It took her three and a half months so send me me save the date rough draft (!!!!) and she sent me two stick figures on a save that looked like she shopped it out. I was completely scammed and you’ll notice this lady doesn’t have any other websites for reviews. I normally don’t leave reviews but I want to warn all of you amazing brides so that you won’t have the experience I did. Jolly Edition and Laura Shema are scamming people. STAY AWAY.

Jolly Edition were a dream to work with, we couldn’t have asked for anything better or easier! Communication was so easy and we felt very comfortable emailing whenever we had questions and we always received a prompt response. The process was clearly explained so we knew our role and it was really fun seeing our idea coming to life in such a beautiful way. We were beyond excited and amazed by the finished stationery, as were our guests.

Working with Laura and her team has always been a wonderful experience. She has gone above and beyond for my clients and has been able to work with them in a timely fashion. I have never had an issues with printing, graphics, delivery or communication. I would use her for my own wedding.

We were literally tearing up as we opened our stationery, we are ecstatic with the results and couldn’t be happier. The map is perfection, I truly go week at the knees for hand illustrated maps and this one is so fulfilling to look at because its for us. The illustrations are beautiful and the flowers are spot on. We are not only happy to send these to our guest but happy to have this unique and personal piece of art work just for us to keep for forever.

Working with Jolly Edition for my wedding suite was an absolute joy from start to finish. I was blown away by how much of "us" Laura was able to put into the final product...we loved the process of sharing with them our story and our values, and we loved even more the way they were able to translate that into a stunningly beautiful and charming work of art that we had the privilege of calling our wedding invitation. Out of all of the details and moments of our wedding, the one aspect that our guests have continued to rave about is Laura's work. Truly masters of their craft, and we could not have been more pleased with the process or the final product. I wish I could embed fireworks in this review to better reflect how overjoyed and enthusiastic we are about Jolly Edition!

DO NOT HIRE! I had an incredible and fun experience with wedding planning... except for Jolly Edition. I chose Jolly Edition due to their unique and talented invitations and stationary. I wanted these items to set the tone for the entire day. I 110% regret my decision for hiring Jolly Edition. It was not only that I felt I could not communicate with Laura because she would refuse to talk on the phone... but she was completely unprofessional. She would only answer 1 email a day and would never answer the email fully. This would add on "time" to the project allowing her to delay it for weeks. She refused to talk on the phone except when my wedding planner begged her... which was a completely unproductive call. In the end, I sketched and gave specific instructions on how to design every single item. Therefore, the creativity and imaginative custom process that I PAID for did not occur. I also ended up having to hire a printing company due to the chaos. We almost did not have invitations... we started over a year ahead of time. Jolly Edition should not be in the wedding business at all due to their lack of initiative, refusal to communicate, unprofessional behavior, extreme sensitivity to criticism, and refusal to accept responsibility of a problem or mistake. A TRUE NIGHTMARE.

We used Jolly Edition for our wedding and absolutely loved their work, they made a portrait of us that we displayed - it was absolutely beautiful. Laura is a talented artist and the painting is one that we still treasure today. She included all sorts of little details or personal to us in the illustration. We loved her work so much that we have since had portraits done by her for her to commemorate our honeymoon, our dog, and she is now making one to commemorate the birth of our first baby. Every experience we’ve had with Jolly Edition has been wonderful and resulted in beautiful artwork that we treasure.

Working with Laura is an absolute dream. Everything is incredibly clear and organized from the beginning of your contract. She has a great design process where she presents concepts to you before starting the actual design of your invitation suite pieces. Her illustrations are phenomenal. She is very talented and I am beyond happy with everything that she has created for me. I highly recommend Jolly Edition for customized invitation suites.

Working with Laura is a COMPLETE nightmare. I initially felt hesitant leaving a bad review because Laura is a small business owner however as things got more and more insane I felt it was necessary to share my review so other brides could learn from me. I had a very similar experience to another reviewer and thanks to her I found my own printer which was the only way I would have ever had my items on time. Laura has issues with timing, communication and attention to detail. Timing - invites sent out 4.5 weeks before the wedding instead of 8 weeks with 2 year head start - We had to "recycle" the design from the invite to all the day of items because we were in a time crunch - I had to find my own printer and download (and pay for) abode acrobat DC to order and edit my own place cards - I had to pay the printer extra in design fees because Laura had not prepared them appropriately (as spelt out by my printer that she agreed to) would not answer any of my emails - Her printer cost 2x as much as my printer in NYC and had a turn around time 4x as long Communication -in her words "everything that could have gone wrong with our invites did go wrong" but she refused to discuss it further because "it would not get me my invites quicker" (I still have no idea what happened) -refused to speak to me on the phone. This was painful as she typically will only respond to at the most 1 email a day and sometimes went days without responding to emails. This meant that what should have been a 20 min convo on Monday ended up being a painfully slow and stressful conservation over email over 5-10 days. -sometimes would go days without responding to emails about time sensitive issues (in the 2 weeks before my wedding) Lack of Attention to detail -there was no time on my invitation which I only realized in the last moment (this is of course my fault but I am surprised someone with as much experience as her did not pick up on it) -She would forget to send me proofs which is a large part of why my invites went out so late -she ordered and charged me for incorrect numbers of prints -Invoices were frequently incorrect in numbers and pricing The final straw for me was when I reached out about updating the text for our place cards. After all the mistakes and issues we had (for which I was extremely patient) she had the audacity to ask for more money to update the text. When I said she had actually accidentally overcharged me for printing more invites than we ended up printing and she owed me a few hundred dollars she freaked out. She refused to tell me when she could update the text and said she didn't care about my timeline and said she would not be responding to any further emails. I am still owed about $350. During the entire process I was scared to ask for revisions or changes no matter how small and clearly I was right to be afraid. Bottom line this was without a doubt the most stressful and worst part of wedding planning. If I knew what I knew now I would have absolutely worked with someone else. I worked with at least 12 different small businesses in my process of planning my wedding, all of which were overwhelmed by COVID and having to deal with 2 years of weddings in 1 year. Everyone aside from Laura was patient, kind, hardworking and a pleasure to work with and will be getting glowing reviews. I don't think it is fair to attribute these issues I had to Laura to COVID and instead reflect major issues with her business. STAY AWAY!!!

On reading the other reviews, I think Jolly Edition used to be outstanding but their service has gone way downhill. I also dreaded writing this review because they are a two person, husband and wife team, and I have great respect for that, but they do not deliver what they promise. Laura's artwork is whimsical and beautiful, which is what attracted me in the first place. Unfortunately, it was like pulling teeth to get them to listen to my ideas- another reviewer mentioned fonts- I specifically asked for a mixture of print and script in different sizes for emphasis. After two rounds of communicating this to them, they only managed to change the sizes- there was no mixture of styles. The font was also clearly computer generated, not hand painted, so it's not as if it was a huge change. This is only one example of many other issues. I understand that when something is custom, there can be differences. But this went beyond that. In addition to design problems, timing was a huge issue- Laura emailed during one iteration that she couldn't get to the post office to mail the invitations. I emailed that fedex will pick up at your home!?! Really? In addition, Laura will never speak on the phone- only her husband Tom will- so it's sort of playing telephone in terms of communicating with her. She will respond to email. All I can think is that something is going on in their lives and their business is suffering for it. It's too bad because, judging by their past work on their site, they used to be great. The final straw was when, after repeated assurances that there was plenty of time, I was forced to print the table, escort and place cards myself because they wouldn't get to me in time if printed by them. Very disappointing.

Jolly Edition did an absolutely incredible job with our entire wedding stationery suite. We wanted something unique that would include some of the themes and colors of our wedding, our venue, our dogs (important members of the wedding party), and some other little personal touches to make it “ours”, and not just another invitation. They knocked it out of the park. Jolly Edition designed the invitation and RSVP cards and the menu cards, and we got so many compliments about how beautiful and original everything was. The artwork was gorgeous, but also fun and casual, perfectly fitting into what we were aiming for with our wedding, and setting the tone from the very start for our wedding. They also sent us the original designs, in addition to just the finished product, which we have framed, as a constant reminder of the amazing work they did for us. Having the custom stationery was worth every single penny, to make sure that every detail, down to the perfect font on the RSVP card, is just the way we wanted it. We can’t recommend them enough!!
