Working with Cate and Ricky from Jordan’s was a dream. So many of our guests said our food was excellent including – the gluten free rolls, the charcuterie, the steak, the salmon. From our tasting to the big day, Cate was so supportive and helpful in thinking about our menu, while Ricky was a coordinating extraordinaire. The layout and room flip from our ceremony to reception worked perfectly with our vision. Food was so tasty and beautifully presented, we 100% recommend working with them! In addition to great food, they are great people- responsive and receptive to our ideas.
Overall we really enjoyed working with JFOD. The food was delicious, they were very accommodating with changes to our menu choices and accommodating guests with dietary restrictions as well as children. The tasting experience was really nice. The staff was very friendly and they did a great job at setting up/taking down and were on top of getting guests their food quickly and cleaned up quickly. They also helped set up our donuts on our donut wall and the small cake we had for ourselves to cut. I only took off one star due to a pricing concern I had with how our final payment was handled to them. Initially we had estimated 140 guests when we first started our proposal and contract process with JFOD and then when we finally sent out invites and got final numbers, it only ended up being 100 guests plus vendor meals. We were under the assumption that our proposal cost would have decreased slightly due to the 40 less guests we had for final numbers, but the final invoice cost was the exact same as the proposal amount and the anticipated "difference" in cost we thought there would be for having less people ended up being spread out across the service fees, delivery, gratuity, etc. and was the exact same as if we had paid for the 140 people. This price concern is our only real issue with working with JFOD as it felt like we were taken advantage of slightly with the price not changing despite having significantly less guests attending.
Jordan’s Food of Distinction is fantastic. They catered and provided rentals for our wedding and did an impeccable job in turning our vision into a reality. Jordan’s food was not only unbelievably delicious but also unique and not the typical “wedding food” you usually find. We were so excited by their unique menu (the Reuben egg rolls are a MUST) and loved every bite at our tasting. The best part: it was just as good as we remembered on our wedding day! Their party planning services were also incredible. They helped us pick out every detail (down to the specialty water glasses!) to make sure our day looked exactly the way we envisioned it. Service was smooth and excellent, they are seasoned professionals and it shows. We can’t recommend them highly enough!
We had an incredible time working with JFOD. They were very attentive and responded to our questions quickly and with care. They were extremely meticulous with every attention to detail looked at and we could not have made our event as special as it was without Ricky, Jordan, and Pam's help. Whether it came to the food, event planning, or alcohol we knew were in good hands with JFOD.
The biggest fear we had in our wedding was not having enough food or having bad food. Well not only did we not have to worry about that, JFOD (Jordan’s Food of Distinction) exceeded all of our wildest dreams! We had this vision to do an Italian bread basket, with olive oil, parmesan and bread sticks and they DELIVERED! We had a friend say to us during dinner “Your love is beautiful, but this bread basket!” Ricky went out of his way to ensure that we had everything we needed. In addition to that, our tasting was incredible and we were truly so pleased with how everything tasted. When we got to the wedding, the quality was absolutely still there, even when cooking for over 100 people. Everything was delicious. Also, it should be noted that JFOD’s servers (we did a plated dinner) were speedy and brought the food out still hot and delicious. Something you always hear at weddings is that the spouses don’t eat. JFOD will ensure you do! They brought appetizers to us in the bridal suite after the ceremony to make sure that we had food. You could not go wrong with Jordan, their food is so good and their service is next level.
We absolutely loved Jordan’s food of Distinction. They where amazing! They where recommended by our wedding venue on their preferred list. Wow, from the moment we emailed an inquiry Cate emailed quickly answering all our questions promptly and even scheduling a call. She was amazing with ideas and suggestions it was great. The entire experience from beginning to end was perfect! Family and friends could not stop talking about how great our food was. It was the best, I highly recommend having them cater any event you’re having. They love what they do and you can tell throughout. They run everything like a well oil machine. Thank you for making our wedding day so amazing!
The service before and during our event were excellent. Stephanie went above and beyond to help us and the entire team during the event more than adequately covered our 80 person party and everyone was very kind and accommodating. I will recommend JFOD at every opportunity. I can’t thank them enough.
We loved working with Jordan, Pam, Ricky and the rest of their team for our wedding in October. They curated an amazing menu that our guests still rave about almost two months later!!! Everything from the hors d'oeuvres, to the dinner menu, the delicious (and strong!) specialty "his' and "hers" cocktails, to the late night snack of chicken and mini churro cups was delicious!!!!!!!!
In addition to their delicious food, Pam was like a second mother to me during the wedding process, in the best way! She gave recommendations and advise on wedding decor, provided the recommendation to my florist and was a great thought partner when it was time for me to make big decisions. The day-of staff were also incredible! They made sure my hubby and I were fed throughout the evening, and made the room turnover from the wedding ceremony to the reception seamless.
If you're wondering wether their open bar package is worth it -- it is!!! But it's just the cherry on top of an amazing "cake." You should feel confident leaving your wedding in this family business' very capable and professional hands. I would highly recommend them and my hubby and I look forward to using them for our future events!
JFOD catered our wedding and we were so happy with all of the food! We tasted a bunch when deciding on our menu (the Jordan’s sauce is amazing). They helped make suggestions to have a well rounded meal. We got tons of compliments on the food- including late night snack and dessert. We had several diet restrictions and they helped work through those challenges. Service the night of was awesome-as the bride and groom we had someone looking out for us making sure we got to try apps, late night snack, and dessert. Pro tip-pick the duet it makes your life and JFOD’s life so much easier!
I can’t say enough great things about this this business! Jordan’s beautifully catered my wedding. From the awesome tasting beforehand that they arranged that ended up being an unforgettable, romantic and delicious date night to our wedding day where their team and service were absolutely top tier! My guest could not stop talking about the food long after the wedding. I highly recommend! We were so impressed by the food but the warmth and great energy from everyone I met there is why we keep coming back.
Look no further for a catering team that is beyond your wildest dreams!! I got married in October 2022 at the Emil Bach House, with JFoD catering (food and bar). The whole experience was better than I could have ever imagined. From the beginning, the team was transparent, imaginative, and accommodating. Like many people, I have no clue how to plan a wedding and didn't totally know what I wanted. Lucky for me, the entire staff at JFoD was so helpful - Kristin, Pam, and Ricky were all easy to work with, responsive, and thoughtful about all the details I didn't even know I cared about. The rest of their staff were amazing too, and made the wedding reception go SO smoothly.
On top of being the best people to work with, the food is INCREDIBLE. We've all been to weddings where the food was forgettable -- JFoD is the exact opposite of that. We had so many guests compliment us on the food, and JFoD even took care of a few last minute guests with tricky allergies. We did cocktail hour with signature cocktails and then a plated dinner reception. Totally delicious!
We were thrilled with the fantastic food, beautifully prepared, delicious and served hot as if it were made for each person individually! We got to Jordan's Food of Distinction through our venue, as an approved vendor, and we are so glad we picked this caterer. When we were planning, we were treated to a lovely meal for tasting, and so imagined it would be great. Not only did they live up to that meal, they surpassed it. So many of our 135 guests commented on how fantastic the food was! All arrangements ahead of time were smooth, and all correspondence prompt and courteous. I would very highly recommend JFOD for your occasion!
Having amazing food at our wedding was our biggest priority, and Jordan’s did not disappoint! Our guests raved about the food - it was cooked on site so was very fresh and high quality. We had a Mediterranean-inspired menu and Jfod did a great job of taking our inspiration and crafting the menu around it. They have their own farm and are a family business, which is great to support. We also opted to serve speciality cocktails, which were a hit with our guests. The waiters and bartenders were all wonderful. We actually did two tastings with Jordan, which they were more than happy to accommodate. During the planning process, communication could be improved, as others have mentioned. Make sure to read the proposal in detail so that everything is correct. In the final month, we worked more with Ricky and found him to be very detail-oriented, communicative, and reliable.
Horrible experience and do not recommend. I reached out to Jordan's brother, Ricky three times after the 30 day final walk through and he never responded until 7 days before our wedding. Their mother, Pam, half answered our questions and didn't have all the information from Ricky. Our main entre was a Ramen station and they served it with small coffee mugs! We were terribly embarrassed. We also requested glassware for bar drinks (listed on the invoice) and instead of confirming with us, they provided wasteful plastic cups. Additionally, because they took so long to answer our questions they required us to wire the money to them 24 hours before the event. We repeatedly expressed how concerned and disappointed we were and their responses were defensive and unapologetic. Our goal was to support a local family catering service and unfortunately learned that Jordan's Food of Distinction is unprofessional and made us feel awful leading up to and on our special day.
The team at Jordan's Food of Distinction is amazing - for anyone planning a wedding or event, you want Jordan's on your team. Their experience, professionalism, and food is unique and unmatched.
We had quite a few hiccups when planning our wedding and Jordan's was so flexible and helpful through out the entire process. They even helped us find a new venue when our previous one cancelled on us with a little under 3 months to go.
From the beginning, Jordan's food was top-notch and the pricing was hard to beat. Ricky, Pam, and Jordan were solution-oriented and transparent. We found working with them to be fun and collaborative. On our wedding day they did a fantastic job in a challenging and new space for them. Our wedding guests were so impressed with the food and loved everything Jordan's had to offer. We can't wait to work with them again for another event in the future!
Overall we had a great experience with Jordan's and would recommend them. The food was delicious and unique. Even my family who are quick to complain about food not being hot or fresh enough and who were initially cranky about our vegetarian menu LOVED their meals. They did a great job managing complicated dietary restrictions and our COVID concerns. The day of was smooth, professional, classy and worry-free.
However, the communication leading to the event could be frustrating. It often took multiple emails and phone calls to reach someone and it was unclear who our point person was. We also got hit with a $500 last-minute room-flip fee. While this is reasonable I was upset it was thrown on last minute- because after reading prior reviews I was careful to ask in writing and person if there are any other unexpected expenses that might be added- and I was not warned of this. I'd still definitely recommend them and have sympathy for how crazy the "post-COVID" wedding season was.
I also highly recommend working with Jamie, the day-of-coordinator who typically works with Jordan. She was incredible and really made the day a success. Thanks all!
We are so happy we used JFOD. My sister used them for her wedding in 2019 and the food was absolutely delicious. She did have an outdoor wedding with buffet style food. JFOD was able to accommodate our indoor, plated dinner. We had delicious passed appetizers including: crab cakes, arancini, mini grilled cheese and tomato soup shooter, mini tacos, coconut shrimp, etc. The bite sized appetizers were a hit. Dinner was a beef short rib (nice change of pace from the traditional filet), Amish chicken, or ratatouille. Service was great. Everyone was kind and efficient!
Thank you to Ricky, Pam & their amazing team for outstanding catering for our wedding. From the tasting, to the wedding day we had a great experience throughout and we received so many compliments from our guests on how delicious the food was. Food was the most important thing to us for our wedding day and Jordan's did not disappoint. Thank you so much for the amazing service and food on our special day!
I had the opportunity to work with JFOD at Stan Mansion and all I can say is that they are amazing! The food is absolutely delicious and the customer service is great! They are very professional and take good care of their customers. Ben, who is usually here in charge of the events, is absolutely AMAZING! He is so helpful and attentive to details and always responsive. He is just an awesome person to work with!
I highly recommend JFOD!
Really can’t recommend JFOD highly enough. Catering was one of our biggest stressors as my wife and I planned our wedding. Even after we selected JFOD, it was still a constant worry for us. The day after the wedding we talked about how silly our concerns were because JFOD really delivered. Their pricing was competitive, well explained, and reasonable. They worked with us to find a stellar menu within our budget. The food was fantastic [beef/chicken duet plate, fried risotto cake, edamame noodles]. We had numerous guests - carnivores, vegetarians, vegans alike - all compliment us on providing superior wedding fare. The service was professional and timely. When one of our other vendors dropped the ball on a couple responsibilities, Jaime and the JFOD Team were there ready to step up and keep things on track without our guests even noticing. Thank you!
JFOD
For us, food was a priority for our wedding. A month later, I still have people coming up to me to rave about their dinners, asking if they can get their entrees from a local restaurant.
During our tasting, it was clear that Jordan was passionate about food as we are and willing to be flexible. We felt good knowing that he would only put out something that he would want to eat at a wedding. But, he and his team went above and beyond by also making our dinner an experience for our guests. The guests loved it and it meant the world to my husband who wanted to create the ambiance of sitting at a private table in a chef’s kitchen during dinner service. Somehow, the JFoD team was able to do that without making our reception hall feel like a “back of house” space. It was perfect.
We also really liked the fact that JFoD is a family run operation. We like to support family businesses, plus it meant that our team would know how to communicate and work together, no matter what.
That’s one of the many reasons that I also hired Jamie, Jordan’s sister, to be my day of coordinator. Jamie was amazing and had the whole team running like a well oiled machine. During the planning phase she kept me calm by focusing on the big picture, while I was in the weeds working on the details. On the actual day, she worked some kind of magic to make sure that I was able to enjoyed my wedding, rather than focusing on the little things. Most importantly, she made sure that we got to eat some of the food that we were so excited about!
If I were to do it all again, I would definitely work with JFoD without hesitation. Not only are they professional and experienced, but they are just good people.
We used JFOD as caterers for our wedding. The food was fantastic! We chose to do a duel beef & greek chicken platter, and all of our guests raved about it. The horse-devours and late night hot dogs were delicious as well. JFOD cooks onsite, which prevents the food from drying out. While the food the day of was amazing, I will say that when we first started working with them, it was a struggle & honestly one of the most stressful parts of our wedding planning experience. It is a family run business but we felt like they weren't talking to each other. We would have a conversation with one member of the family and then would see something different than what we had discussed on the proposal we received. We had to be very careful to check the proposals & ask about every detail to ensure we were on the same page as everyone & that it was being documented appropriately. We also had to continuously check the math on the itemized proposal (and made sure to ask to have it all itemized out) as we would again notice inconsistencies in pricing or total inventory. We had seen this called out in prior reviews & thought we would be fine as long as we were aware of this going in, but it still became very stressful. Overall though the price was good and the food was good.
We had a great experience having Jordan's Food of Distinction as our caterer! The food was outstanding from the passed appetizers at the cocktail hour to the seated meal. Jamie and Ben were so helpful and easy to work with on all of our needs. Sue, the captain, and the entire staff worked hard to ensure we had a wonderful day and event. We would highly recommend working with JFOD!
They were perfect. The food was UNBELIEVABLE. They were helpful and the day of staff was amazing. They were everything I could have asked for an more. The vendor I'm the most thankful for from our wedding.
JFOD is *so* much more than a catering company. My husband and I used them for our wedding, and they were able to walk through our venue (my parent's house) and envision (and execute) a complete makeover of the home to transform the space into a true venue. They were respectful of our budget, created a delicious multi-coursed meal that was food allergy friendly, attentive to all the details, and helpful and excited along the way. They made the evening easy by taking care of everything (including handling re-stocking of the bathroom!!). They do so much more than just food - if you hire JFOD you get a whole event planning team.
JFOD was one of the preferred vendors for our wedding venue, Stan Mansion, and they were amazing to work with. We worked with Pam (owner), Jamie (catering), and Ben (bar) and I cannot recommend them enough. Pam, Jamie, Ben, and all of the rest of the JFOD staff were super attentive, helped us with recommendations, were open to any feedback, and they made us feel so comfortable knowing that they were taking care of everything from linens to chairs to table settings to food and the bar. And the food was delicious - and not just wedding food delicious, but restaurant delicious. We received so many compliments on our appetizers, our main course, the sweets table, and the late night snack. If I'm ever catering another event, JFOD will definitely be my preferred caterer!
From the first conversation with Pam, Jamie & Stephanie, there was a genuine comfortable ease discussing my wedding. It is obvious they have been in the industry a long time & know all the ins & outs of how to make things run smoothly. Rest assured you are in the hands of quality professionals who care about your experience & work very hard to insure everything is first rate. Pam instantly made us feel like family, Stephanie is a master at assembling & fine tuning the details, last but not least Jamie who was my day of coordinator, also an angel, was incredibly present, not only making sure everything went smoothly, which IT DID, Jamie is hands on, tactful, a great mediator & naturally professional. She also was a rock by my side during many challenging moments leading up to the wedding with so much compassion. Hell yes, I would recommend the whole team.
Working with JFOD was one of the best decisions we could have made for our wedding. While we did not use their food catering service, they helped us in about every other area. Pam and Stephanie were extremely helpful in coordinating our staffing needs, Jamie did the most wonderful job assisting with day of planning, and Ryan managed the bar and created the best spicy margaritas we had ever had! Working with them was a dream, and it was a plus to help support a beautiful family run business. Thank you JFOD for helping make our wedding perfect.
We were so happy to have worked with Stephanie and Pam to cater our wedding of about 150 guests. From the moment we walked into our tasting, we felt like family. Stephanie and Pam sat with us and ate with us like we were old friends, told us the family story of JFOD, and assured us that we could customize pretty much anything that would make our hearts sing. That's not even mentioning how mindful they were of our budget. Night-of, they did not disappoint! Our guests raved about the food, and were so pleased with the individualized service. We could not recommend the JFOD experience more highly.
We have nothing but great things to say about JFOD. Pam worked with us to make sure the food we tried was exactly what we were looking for-- and delicious! Stephanie was a great resource for us once we had signed on with the team, helping us from designing our RSVP cards to keeping track of responses and finalizing all of our place settings. They were super helpful as we picked our final menu, made great recommendations to make our day so much easier. Finally, we absolutely could not have made this day what it was without Jamie as our day of coordinator. I thought I could do it on my own- but I was crazy. Jamie stepped in and helped execute our vision to a T (even better than I had hoped), she kept us and all our vendors on schedule, managed all of the problems (just a couple logistical issues, to be expected) that came up without me ever even noticing a thing. We absolutely could not have asked for a better day, thanks, in large part, to the JFOD team!!
We just had my daughters wedding on 12/29/2017 and JFOD was our caterer. I cannot say enough about how professional, courteous, and kind all the members of their team were. Jamie, Stephanie and Pam are wonderful and all their recommendations for not only catering but set up and other details were spot on. They know what they are doing! As for their food- it was delicious, they did a great job and were very attentive to all our requests. They definitely delivered in a big way!! Spritzology ( their bar service) was equally as great and we feel very blessed to of had them serve our wedding and will definitely use them in the future!
We did not have a good experience with Jordan’s. As we told them after our wedding, their food is great, but their customer service is awful. We felt they were incredibly unresponsive and unprofessional after we signed our contract and decided to use them for our wedding. A great example is the ~2 weeks it took to get a definitive response regarding a serious food allergy. They also made 2 requests for us to confirm a support charge prior to the wedding. They suggested 20% on all food and beverage before the food or beverage had been served at our reception. Whether this is an industry norm or not, we felt incredibly uncomfortable with it. Our strong opinion is that Jordan’s solid food does not at all outweigh the abysmal customer service. They caused a lot of stress both the week of the wedding and the weeks following it while we were trying to enjoy our honeymoon.
As a Day-Of coordinator, JFOD was great to work with. They were organized and responsive prior to the event. Jamie was great to work with onsite and knew exactly how things needed to run. Their staff was professional and a pleasure to work with. I look forward to working with them in the future and would recommend them to wedding couples!
Okay, JFOD was incredible to work with. They catered and provided bartending for my and my now-husband's wedding this past Sunday. From the tasting to numerous menu tweaks, to the walkthrough of the venue and finally the day of, they were incredible.
Stephanie was so quick to help out with requests (including a few last minute ones) and I thought it was so cool how Pam was able to come up with dishes/menu items on the spot...everyone was very flexible and I feel like any questions or concerns I had were taken seriously and given creative thought.
The food during the tasting was so so good (tacos and empanadas, fyi), and down the road when I wanted to change anything, I had 100% confidence that additional foods would be equally tasty (and they were!).
Some of these older reviews seem not-so-good, but at least as of my wedding this past weekend, it seems like JFOD has a pretty good thing going, and I would highly recommend them to people needing some creative meal planning (ours required a bit of creativity around budget, for sure).
Oh and they helped us out when we ran out of liquor during the event - they made it very un-stressful! Thank you so much, Stephanie!
And, at least according to a few friends, our wedding food was deemed the 'best ever' so that was a rave review, as well :-)
We used JFOD for our reception and were very happy with them. Everyone was a pleasure to work with, especially Stephanie and Pam. The food was delicious, we got a lot of compliments on it, our vegetarian friends even loved the vegetarian option and were grateful there was an equally delicious option for them. They care about every little detail, right down to getting the right shade of lilac for our napkins. There were great little touches everywhere for our cocktail hour and our dinner. What I appreciated the most was how accommodating they were, they really worked with us to meet our budget as much as possible. When I was first choosing a caterer, I was surprised by how unhelpful other caterers were, simply refusing to accommodate our budget. JFOD really worked with us, and were much less expensive than those other caterers, while still having a very great quality. Everything was very classy. We even got a great bar package from them for our alcohol. Thanks JFOD!!
Jordan worked his magic to stay within our budget and made sure our food was exactly what we asked for. Pam was so easy to work with and made our wedding planning seamless. Leading up to the day, I was completely satisfied with the services. The day of went off pretty well. The only recommendation we would have is make sure you know exactly what you want and speak up if you are unhappy with anything that day. We would say this for any vendor you work with, not specifically JFOD.
Jordan, the head chef is very talented and nice. It's too bad he doesn't interact much with his clients because his mother Pam (their coordinator) is not much fun to work with. She is very fake nice and a fast talker. Our invoices went up in price from their proposal on many occasions. Pam and my mom got into a fight via email (and this is my mom's fault too) which is not very professional in my opinion. Pam kept trying to get us to plate certain items and up the price and tried to say this was "how Jordan likes to do things" as if we (the client!) didn't have a choice. She also kept telling us how lucky we were to have booked them because they were in such high demand. The food tasted good, but they changed the menu against some of my choices- I repeatedly said I wanted Caesar Salad and we didn't get it. We also had a few (four) vegan guests. I said I didn't want the entire meal to revolve around them and I feel like it ended up being that way. Pam would also demand payments that were due without showing us invoices and then say she forgot. I really REALLY wanted to write good reviews about them, but unfortunately I really can't. Pam kept trying to talk us into higher end rentals without telling us how much more they would cost. "It'll cause just a tiny bit more." More like, it will add $4,000 to your total price. I would recommend only using Jordan's if Pam retires. Very disappointing.
At the time of the tasting, they really impressed us. They were out of our budget range, but they really impressed us with the great tasting food, custom menu, and personal attention. We decided to make the sacrifice, even though they were out of our budget. After we signed the contract, all that personal attention went out of the the window. The owner who said she would personally take care of things on my wedding day, passed it off to one of her new assistants. The assistant turned out to be pretty great when it came to helping me tie lose ends as the wedding drew near. On the day of my wedding, although my food was tasty, it was cold. All my guests noticed. Some even complained to me. It was really embarassing. Naturally, the wedding day was super busy for my husband and me.We didn't get to eat the food because we were so busy. No one thought to get us a to go bag or anything, which really would have come in handy for us later that night. Because we didn't get to enjoy that meal, a year later, for our 1st anniversary, I asked if we could pay for our wedding meal. They said they had to do tastings that night, but they offered to make the meal for us for FREE if I picked it up. I was so excited, and this was beginning to make up for the cold wedding food. When I picked up our anniversary meal, it wasn't the meal that was served at our wedding. I was very disappointed. I was told that they would try to make it up to me, but they never did. And then I recieved an email stating that I never said thankyou for the meal, and asking me if something was wrong. I had a friend ask me what caterer I used shortly after this incident, and I was so upset that I told her the entire story. She decided not to go with them either.
At the beginning it was nice and sweet- acctually- too sweet (all that ah-oh...), but food was nice and we SEEMED to agree on the price. However, once we signed the contract, it was all downhill. Caterer was late for the meetings (once she acctually didn't show up) and sort of moody and difficult to deal with. The sour cherry on the top of everything was that she kept changing the price and I received the final bill (due by the time of the event).. on the day of the event (my bridesmaid acctually had to keep my check book for that reason- they do not make wedding gowns with pockets). Food was good but not exceptional or inspired, and as the bride or person involved in the wedding you really do not need the additional drama of dealing with silly or plain obstinate people. But to their plus- the wait stuff they hired was gret.
