My partner and I used Joyeux Events for our wedding planning. We used their coordination package and worked with Makenna. Makenna was awesome from the start of her involvement. She helped work with us to create our timeline, decide on decor, create a seating chart, organize with vendors and venue, and handled many of our rentals / printing needs as well. Makenna met with us over zoom multiple times and we exchanged many emails. She guided us through the process and provided her professional input when we asked. During the day of she made sure that my partner and I were not worried about anything and was always there to make sure we were happy. She setup the decor, brought us food / drinks after the ceremony, handled the vendor coordination, and did clean up after the event ended. We would recommend Joyuex Events to anyone looking for a wedding planner / coordinator. Makenna was professional and her experience showed.
Our experience with Joyeux Events was an absolute disaster. We initially chose them based on our venue's recommendations, expecting a level of professionalism and reliability that was lacking.
Throughout the entire process, from planning to execution, their incompetence and mismanagement were painfully evident. On the day of our wedding, I, as the bride, had to leave my photography session to set up decor myself, while my sister continued frantically decorating as guests began to arrive. It was incredibly stressful and disappointing.
To make matters worse, the planner, Makenna, was nowhere to be found in the afternoon when her presence was needed most. I was left to direct vendors based on our timeline, taking on responsibilities that should have been handled by the professionals we paid for. When we tried to address these issues, Jessica's response was dismissive, offering a hollow apology and excuses about this being a 'learning experience' for them. Despite promises to resolve our concerns via email, we were met with silence and they never replied to our emails.
This company's inability to deliver on even the most basic expectations turned what should have been a joyous occasion into a distressing nightmare. I strongly advise against hiring this unprofessional and unreliable team for your wedding day. Avoid them at all costs.
If you are looking for a fun, stress free and smooth wedding journey DO NOT choose this this planner. My daughter chose the “partial planning package” which included creating a timeline, sourcing vendors and reviewing contracts. Without going into too much detail the time line was off by 60 minutes, the cake was never brought out, the speeches that were to start at 8:25 did not start until 9:22 pushing the the music to 9:45 giving us 15 min on the dance floor. I must stress that the music was one of the most planned and important part of the wedding for this couple…….they had 15 minutes to play because of the delay. The band which was quoted by Joyeux at $35,000 dollars was contracted by my daughter for $16,000.
I blame the owner for this disaster, there was no oversight, there was absolutely no planning and quite frankly I feel as if my daughter and her now husband were robbed. To see your daughter shed tears on her wedding day due to the inadequacies of the people she hired to make her day run smoothly is an absolute crime.
I never post reviews but never want another bride to be disappointed on their most special day.

Let me first say, how amazing Jessica and Courtney are! They truly made our wedding day the most perfect day during the pandemic. My husband and I got married back in September 2020 at Deer Park Villa and they did wonders to make sure we were well taken care of. Courtney and another assistant were there setting up and making sure all my vendors followed timelines and everything went smoothly on our wedding day. They also set up and where there until the wedding was over. My husband and I chose the day of coordinator package and felt their services was exactly what we needed. I planned, gathered all the vendors, and designed the look of our wedding. We needed someone the month before the wedding to help my organize, plan, and timeline everything together! Both Jessica and Courtney were there through video chats and in-person venue walk thrus to make sure all my questions and concerns were answered. During the pandemic, this was crucial to have a back up team to support you! Their services and and packages are reasonably priced for the amount of care and love they provide with their services! I don’t know what we would have done without Jessica and Courtney! Thank you so much!! <3 truly the best coordinators I could have asked for!
Jess was the absolute dream. Getting engaged in 2020 was dramatic. Decisions were made, unmade, remade, undone. We switched venues I couldn’t tell you how many times. Jess was calm, understanding, and really wanted what was best for us. Cant recommend her more.
We are so happy we found Jessica and her Joyeux team. We started out not knowing for sure if we wanted to hire a planner or not and we are so glad we did! Jessica gave us the peace of mind and confidence that everything was being thought of and handled throughout the whole planning process, even through a pandemic. She was responsive with emails, closed the loop on various questions, and followed through to make sure our vision and requests were carried out. She knows the business and was able to push us to make decisions, while being able to jump in and take the lead with her expertise when necessary. Our wedding was downsized from 200 people to 20 people for the purpose of health and safety amongst COVID, and they were very helpful in ensuring all guests and vendors were safe in following the COVID guidelines and regulations.
We ended up working with Courtney and Stephanie on our actual wedding day, while most of the nitty-gritty planning was done through Jessica. We met in person with both Jessica and Courtney early on to get to know them and discuss our visions for our day. While Courtney and Stephanie were absolutely wonderful, there was some nervousness on our behalf with not having Jess there on our wedding day when she did most of the planning over the 9 months. Everything ended up being perfect and they handled everything without issue, though some of the nervousness leading up to our day may have been avoided if Courtney had been able to feel a bit more involved with decision making earlier on in our process (though I know she has another job and was getting married herself- so totally understandable!)
Overall, we would highly recommend Joyeux Events and their whole team! They were all so helpful and wonderful in making our wedding day exactly what we had imagined and hoped for.
5 stars! Jessica is as good as it gets. My fiancé and I enjoyed all our meetings with Jessica prior to our wedding day. Jessica is very personable, easy to work with, and enthusiastic. She is an excellent communicator and is resposnive. She really puts a lot of heart into executing YOUR vision. We appreciated her guidance with vendors. She always provided us with muliple options for vendors so we never felt required to work with anyone. On the wedding day, she was a rockstar! She assured our entire bridal party was fed before guest arrived and would check in to see if we ever needed anything during our photo sessions. Her team showed up promptly to setup for our reception and every team member was all smiles! Jessica handled every vendor on the day of the wedding. We were never approached by any of the vendors during the wedding. She said our responsibility is to enjoy our day and that's exactly all we had to do with Jessica as our coordinator. After the wedding, she had some of her team members help break down and clean. Again, my wife and I had no worries. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better coordinator. Before you read this review, it is important to note that we (my wife and I) ‘broke up’ with Jessica after about 6 weeks of working with her.
We (wife and I) both spent years working in client-facing roles and had fairly high expectations regarding emails and responses, turnaround time on projects, communication, etc.
We were also planning the wedding from across the country (we were in Philadelphia, Wedding was in California, Jessica was in California) and, for that reason, we might have needed more from Jessica than the typical (locally-based) couple would need.
Pro’s
Jessica was super enthusiastic about our wedding plans and our vision; we had several pleasant phone calls with her and were very impressed by her ideas and her presentations after each call.
Jessica accompanied us to our site visit and food tasting; she was clearly knowledgeable about the ins and outs of the wedding-planning process. She had good questions for our vendors (stuff we wouldn't have thought of) and she was always working to help us save money.

Jessica wasn’t always quick with email replies. Several times, we needed to follow up with a couple times before getting a reply. The same was true for texts and phone calls.
Jessica was similarly lax with deadlines. She’d get us an estimate or a file on Friday after promising it for the prior Sunday.
After a pleasant, cordial call with her about all of this, a call where we agreed to an email reply time limit and agreed to other, fairly specific, expectations, Jessica’s habits didn’t change too much.
This unreliability was especially pertinent when my wife and I met up with Jessica on a visit to California. She’d told us several times that we’d be able to visit the venue, the caterer, a few wineries, and a few bakeries. In the end, she’d only planned to visit the venue and the caterer. Again, because we were based across the country, this oversight was frustrating and extremely disruptive to the planning process.
Months later, my wife flew back to California for several days. She emailed Jessica weeks prior, asking for help setting up some bakery visits. Jessica didn’t get back to her until she’d already arrived in California, forcing my wife to do the bulk of the planning on her own.
Jessica lacked a clear organizational process to inform us what was completed, what was in progress, etc. We were often unclear- have we booked a DJ yet? When are we getting the cake samples? Etc.
In the end, when we decided to break up with Jessica, calmly reiterating the issues we’d already expressed, she told us that she had 20 clients, thus making our requests impossible. Again, my wife and I were taught that each client needs to feel like they’re your only one, and if you need to slow down due to your load, you’re probably stretched too thin. This excuse rubbed us the wrong way.
Because we’d given Jessica a few chances before cutting her loose, we’d expected a partial refund. Jessica was unwilling to do this though.
In the end, it’s our belief that Jessica would be a decent choice if you are looking to save money, locally based, able to do a lot of the leg-work yourself, lax with deadlines and turnaround time, able to send gentle reminders without getting frustrated.
Jess was AMAZING as our day-of coordinator! From start to finish she was thorough, listened to each one of my needs, and was a great point person for not just me but all of my wedding party. My mom LOVED her. I highly highly recommend her services if you are in search of a day-of coordinator. Not only that, shes an AMAZING VALUE! Some of the best money we spent :) Thanks Jess!!!!!
What a wonderful asset to our wedding planning. Jess' efforts assured that the event was exactly what my son and his bride had planned. Her ability to calmly manage all of the needs of the day, from food trucks and photographers to weather contingency plans, Jess was worth her weight in gold!
Hiring Jess was the best decision we made in our entire wedding planing adventure. We had a million little details and she made everything come together for us perfectly!
