The J. W. Marriott is absolutely the best. The service from the beginning until the end was top notch, professional and over the top. From the beginning with Ann Elise Borchardt, to the tastings with Adrian Galindo and Rhonda Murray (by the way the food was absolutely awesome), to the day before and taking care of our requests and Glenn Gray borrowing exhibit curtains to cover up the area under construction, to when Hurricane Barry arrived and thinking of things we haven't (including offering us an additional room to have to wedding in if we were unable to have it at St. Louis Cathedral (which was not needed), to saving some of the rain water to be used at a baptism later, to having towels for our guests to use as we came into the lobby from walking from the cathedral in our 2nd Line. The general manager, Zach Curry, made it a point to talk with us every day. He even helped hand out towels to our guests as we arrived. Rhonda coordinated all of our requests then I came up with another last minute request asking if we could have a 'specialty drink' at the reception. Not only did Lee Teijelo, Adrian and Shon Prier make the best Barry Hurricane drinks I have ever had, they made up some great signage and then came up with the idea if a guest wanted a little stronger one to ask the bar tenders for a Category 5 Barry Hurricane. Every staff member was so gracious to us and attentive to our guests needs. THANK you for everything everyone did.

We ended up at the JW by accident really. After another venue cancelled on me, the JW came to my rescue. From the beginning Ann Elise told me she wanted me to feel as if the JW had been my first choice. And during the whole process the whole team at the JW did just that. I am so thankful I ended up at the JW. The provided me with the best experience ever. Not to mention when we learned we would be getting married in hurricane barry and things were going crazy, they kept me calm and worked with me to make sure everything was still going to be okay. They went above and beyond to ensure that my day was perfect, no matter what was going on outside. Ann Elise, Rhonda, Shon, Glenn just to name a few made me feel so special and so loved. I will always consider them part of my family now after everything they did for me that weekend. Not many venues would have handled themselves that well, but they were pure class and professional. They thought of things I hadn't even thought of like having towels ready after the second line for guests that got wet. Much love to the JW team for making my hurricane wedding one that will never be forgotten!!

There are so many great things to say about having my wedding reception at the JW Marriott. The ballroom is stunning without even adding enhancements. The food was amazing and multiple guests have told us it was the best wedding food they have ever had. Rhonda, our event manager, was so sweet and eager to help us. She took care of communicating with all my outside vendors and extra decorations I had brought in from home. Ann Elise, the sales executive, helped us to create our contract at the beginning but was available for assistance throughout the entire process. Also, the bridal suite is over the top and was beautiful for us to get ready in and spend the weekend. Overall, I would recommend the JW to anyone looking for a reception venue in New Orleans. Plus you can't beat the view of Canal Street from the balcony!

Exceptional, impressive, flawless, upscale and above and beyond are a few of the words that come to mind when I think about our experience with the JW Marriott New Orleans as our wedding reception venue. The people were wonderful to work with, from the front desk, valet, the chef, our personal attendant for wedding day and then course, our team that handled everything from start to finish, Elizabeth Dauterive and Ann Elise Borchardt. I am so grateful for the wonderful staff at this hotel for making us right at home on wedding weekend. I also LOVED the accommodations, this was the best suite (the bi-level suite) that I've ever laid eyes on. The wedding reception was phenomena, the food was so delicious and I'm so appreciative of all the hard work the JW staff put in to make it so magnificent. Also, the balcony view is to die for as well--pictures of a lifetime :)I am such a control freak and they exceeded every expectation I had. Thank you SOOO much for everything, JW Marriott New Orleans. I would HIGHLY recommend this as a venue for any event, but most definitely for a wedding!

Cannot say enough good things about JW. We had our wedding here in December and the event staff (Elizabeth and Ann Elise) were absolutely fantastic. Guest room booking was SO easy for our out of town guests and it was so nice to just walk up to our rooms after a long night of fun and dancing. The ballroom is absolutely gorgeous and needs very minimal decoration to look like something out of a magazine. Food and drinks were great, as was the service. Highly recommend the JW for your wedding!

“Awesome” is how my husband and I would describe my daughter’s wedding at the JW Marriott in NOLA on Oct. 13, 2018.
As the Mother if the bride and bridal coordinator, my experience with planning seemed awkward when we had to work with several different people due to promotions or change of jobs. However, it was a blessing that I ended up with a team that made my daughter’s wedding one that would be remembered from a lifetime. The venue, food, handling of beverage service was first class. The staff not only knew intricacies of planning events, but also making everyone (bride, groom, parents and guest) feel welcomed during the entire stay.
Special thanks to Rhonda Murray (event manager), and her staff: Tory Lewis (set-up person), Schawanda Small (Bride/Grooms personal asst.), Shon Prior, Derrick Williams (beverages) & his staff, and our outstanding Chef Ricardo and his staff for the delicious food.
Ann Elise did not fail on her promises as she passed the torch. My Daughter & Son-in Law’s dreams were executed at the JW Marriot NOLA.
You will not be disappointed!!!

We absolutely loved the JW Marriott. We used them for our primary wedding block and reception venue. We were there for almost a week and had a lot of out-of-town guests. The JW made sure that all of our family and friends felt welcome and had a great time. They provide the bridal suite for the night before and night of the wedding, and it is one of the nicest hotel rooms we have ever seen in New Orleans. The suite has an amazing view of the city and the river and is two stories. Tamara was our coordinator and she was very easy to work with, polite, and made sure that our wedding day was the best it could possibly be!

We held reception for our daughter at the JW Marriott. It was fabulous!!! Maggie was our first contact. We were so fortunate, that she was having her own reception at the JW a few weeks later. She was a great source of information for other stuff as well. Michelle Michelle was our event planner. She prepared an incredible event order with every single detail. Danielle assisted her and everything was flawless. Tamyra, Michelle's assistant was also great during the planning. She has such a pleasant voice. She loved to say, "My pleasure", no matter how many times I called. The entire team was awesome!
From the moment we came into the JW the weekend of the wedding, they made us feel as if the entire hotel was waiting for us. Valet guys, bell hops, check in, excecutive lounge manager, I mean everybody was aware we were there.
The reception itself was impeccable and so much fun. Their ballroom is so elegant. All we needed was flowers on the tables. The JW cooperated with all vendors and the event was a huge success. The balcony overseeing Canal Street is a real treat.
Shwanda, who was the couple's personal butler, oh my God! We wanted to take her home on the day we met her for food tasting, which did I mention how great the food was? Shwanda had an assistant to tend to us through out the night. They were great!!!
Best compliment we can give is to book another event with them, and we have. Our second daughter is getting married in February and we are doing it all over again with them. They know what they are doing. We could not have picked a better place!

We had a last minute difficulty with the venue we primarly chose for our wedding reception but thankfully we were able to find an opening at JW Marriott.. Emily Jensen was great! we loved working with her, very attentive and sweet.
The entire staff was very friendly and very professional our guest loved their stay. The hotel itself is very beautiful newly remodeled with long balconys that over look Canal Street . We hosted a welcoming cocktail hour at Fogo De Chao that Emily helped us put together and everyone loved it!
Shwand was our butler , she was AMAZING! really went above and beyond to make sure we were ok the entire time . She brought over tons of food and drinks while we were waiting to be introduce at the reception , she made us feel confortable and relaxed. Derrick did an amazing job with the Banquet, our guest were very impressed with the presentation and did i mentioned the food was AMAZING! Everyone was talking about how awesome the food was at the reception.
After the reception they sent over Champagne and chocolate covered strawberries to our suite that was comped for 2 nights! The suite was so beatiful. They definitely made us feel like Royalty 100%.
We love JW and we will be going back very soon! Thank you so much for making our special day so wonderful !

The bi-level suite at the JW Marriott is by far the best suite possible for your wedding party to get ready! It is HUGE with more than enough space for a dozen or so girls. The price is impossible to beat as well...there are some suites in the Quarter for double the price and that are half the size. I will certainly recommend it to anyone getting married downtown. They also did a room block for us at a great price!

I don't know where to begin! From the moment I started planning the wedding with my daughter....it went beautifully! From the sales office to the bellman and all the people in between, we couldn't have been happier! Everyone went overboard to make sure our event and stay went smoothly and worry free! Thanks JW

I feel in love with this place because of the room and because Emily was so great at accommodating what I wanted. Emily however got promoted and many of things that were established in the contract did not happen. The room was extremely hot and I can only hope that I don't look too sweaty in my pictures. Also many of my guests did not receive cake and als.o they never gave my parents the leftover cake. I can only imagine that the staff is enjoying some as I type. I just don't want other brides to have deal with disappointment as I did

We stayed here during the wedding weekend. The staff was friendly and there were many areas to take pictures and hang out with family and freinds. The rooms were decorated nicely and we really felt confortable.

We had our rehearsal dinner at the JW Marriott in New Orleans, and it turned out to be a fabulous event! Michelle was sooooo awesome to work with! She was very patient with us and paid attention to every little detail. Also, the staff for the dinner were very kind and personable. All of our guests told us what a great time they had and how amazing the food was. I would definitely recommend the JW Marriott to anyone considering it for their rehearsal dinner/wedding day venue.

The J.W. Marriott hotel staff worked with us from start to finish to create the perfect wedding experience. The night was flawless-the food, the set-up, the service, the pace. It was the best night of my life. Our wedding coordinator also attended the food tasting and rehearsal with us to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. I highly recommend the J.W. Marriott for a wedding venue. They are so professional and willing to work with you to get you exactly what you want. I didn't have to worry about a thing all night; I just had a great time because I knew everything was taken care of. They are the best! I just saw the pictures of their recent renovations-I didn't think it could look any better but the new decor looks awesome!

The JW Marriott is not only in a great location, it is absolutely beautiful. The staff are unparalleled. They had an answer to every tiny detail I thought up and added creative solutions I would never have though of.
They made no detail seem too small and overwhelmed me with hospitality and professionalism.
The ballroom has larger than life chandeliers and balconies that overlook Canal Street. It is large enough to accommodate any wedding size and a staff that is trained to handle it all. All my guests were extremely satisfied! The food and bar services were wonderful!
Above everything else the two ladies that work on the events (Emily Sita and Miriam Silva) will become your best friends! They know it all and enjoy doing it. They make wedding planning seem easy!
This is a can't miss in your New Orleans wedding search!

This is a gorgeous hotel with an outstanding location (right on Canal Street a block from Bourbon). The food was delicious and service amazing. I was upset to find the hotel under construction during my wedding when I wasn't informed prior to. However, the hotel was very accommodating and my guests enjoyed everything about their stay. You can't go wrong hosting your wedding here!

The ballroom was absolutely beautiful and the honeymoon suite is amazing (one of the major reasons I picked the JW). However, construction started on the lobby the day before the wedding. No big deal, it was no where near the ballroom. However, they continued construction through the weekend and out guest all the way up to the 20th floor were disturbed by it (construction started early in the morning and was extra difficult for our guests Sunday morning after the wedding). Also, I spent the night in the honeymoon suite with my bridesmaids the night before the wedding. We were told the room would be cleaned during the ceremony and reception, the beds were made but the room was not cleaned during the ceremony and reception. It upsetting to walk in to the room with my new husband to find dirty towels still on the floor. Emily was great. The food was fantastic. I even think they threw in some food because of the construction. All in all it was pretty good and our friends and family enjoyed themselves.

This venue is BEAUTIFUL! You don't have to do much to have a gorgeous wedding. My coordinator gave me exactly what I wanted even though I didn't know what I wanted. The food was delicious and the cake was amazing! Highly Recommend.

Very attentive to my needs! Food and wedding cake were amazing. They include a two story honeymoon suite the night of the wedding and a free night stay on your one year wedding anniversary!

I coukd not have asked for a more perfect day!! Everyone there was so nice and helpful and went out of there way to help us. Our wedding coordinator was awesome, ask for Keith and Miriam, they helped us with anything that we needed. I am so thankful to everyone there for making my weddings one of the best!!!

I loved everything about my reception at the JW Marriott. The ballroom was beautiful and had a great balcony, the food and cake were delicious, and the staff was very professional. We loved working with Emily and Mike. We would reccomend the JW to anyone!

After visiting and considering 8 different locations for our reception, we ultimately went with the JW Marriott's Ile De France Ballroom, which is located on the second floor of the hotel. We loved meeting and working with Marcela in sales who negotiated a fair contract with us, throwing in extras here and there to remain competitive with the 2 other venues we were considering. After signing the contract, we were transferred to Keith, one of the catering managers. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with him from the beginning and after having lunch with the GM of the hotel, our account was given to Miriam, a new event coordinator.
Miriam was an absolute pleasure to work with and I can't say enough good things about her! She truly went above and beyond in every way to make our reception perfect. She was genuine, kind, enthusiastic, and reliable while doing little things over the past 10 months that set our experience with the JW apart from any other vendor we worked with. Miriam's good nature and bubbly personality really shine through in the work she does.
Aside from Miriam, the pastry chef, Callie, was also wonderful to work with. She created a beautiful and elaborate cake from a the vague description I provided and we were all so impressed! It was truly a work of art.
The other JW staff members were also excellent and the reception went smoothly with no problems. They treated my fiance and I like gold and we really felt the love that weekend! The only thing I would have liked the staff to have done differently is I wish they would have given my parents the same consideration and attention they gave us. My mom and dad are the ones who made this whole thing possible and while they did receive some amenities like an upgraded room, etc, I wish they would have also had a personal staff member taking care of them at the reception and "to go" plates of the food, cake, and champagne like we were given in our room after the reception ended. I don't think my mom and dad had a bite to eat all night!
Other than giving more attention to my parents, I don't think I would have changed a thing. The JW was a beautiful place to have our reception and we are so happy with the way it all turned out.
As for a caterer: The JW Marriott also catered our reception there and the food was excellent. We had a prime rib carving station, a New Orleans station with seafood gumbo and red snapper, and a tossed to order pasta station, along with 2 passed hors d'oeuvres and 9 hors d'oeuvres on the buffet. We got so many compliments from our guests and my husband and I really enjoyed it as well.

Everyone has been referring to my wedding as the "wedding of the year" or "best wedding ever." I have to say that is mostly due to the location (and the DJ). The JW Marriott in New Orleans was the perfect lcoation. It was downtown with accessable parking. The ballroom was amazing! It was big enough to fit over 700 people, but can be sectioned off for smaller parties. The balconies overlooking canal street were one of the reasons I booked this hotel over the others I viewed. I did not like the "closed in" feeling or look from OTHER hotels. I love being able to see the outside world, without having an outdoor wedding and the JW ballroom allowed me just that. The food was AMAZING!!! I have received several compliments on the food and the cake the hotel provides. The JW is extremely accomodating. I had the Presidential Suite to dress in the day of the wedding, as well as to sleep in with my husband on our wedding night. They also offer a free stay at the hotel on your one year anniversary. The staff was exceptional. The food, amazing. The atmosphere and accomodations, perfect. I highly recommend the JW Marriott hotel in New Orleans for your wedding!
