Kate started K Beauty following her graduation from the prestigious Paul Mitchell beauty school in Cincinnati. Highly recommend Kate for wedding makeup. She is so fun to work with and makes everyone look & feel beautiful. I loved what she did with my wedding makeup and the makeup of all of my bridesmaids. Everyone loved their looks and felt comfortable - which was super important to me!
Kate is the absolute best!! She did both my hair and makeup for my July 2023 wedding, and she did an amazing job. She did some of my bridesmaids’ makeup as well and everyone felt beautiful. I am used to doing my own makeup, and I was very nervous about finding someone to do my wedding day makeup. I did my research and looked into a lot of makeup artists in the area. I found Kate, and I am so lucky I did! Kate has such a fun & sweet personality, and she was wonderful to work with. She really helped me have a stress-free day. My mom and mother-in-law were also nervous about getting their makeup done, and Kate eased their worries and made them feel comfortable. They raved about her! One of my bridesmaids even booked Kate for her own wedding after seeing her work at my wedding. Then I got to have my makeup done by Kate again when I was a bridesmaid in my friend’s wedding! I 100% recommend Kate!
Kate is the best! She was so so sweet and did an amazing job! I cried at least 4/5 times on my wedding day and not a drop washed off. She made me feel amazing and beautiful! Can't recommend her enough!!
Kate was amazing to work with! Loved her energy so much - we had such a fun time together during both the trail and day of! She made me feel so beautiful and confident on my wedding day with stunning makeup & hair. I wanted to still feel like myself with my everyday makeup but more glam and she nailed it :) Loved her additional stylists she brought with her for my 7 bridesmaids + mom, everyone felt amazing!
Kate was so friendly and my make up was flawless! I got so many complements on how perfect my bridal make up was, and she treated my moms and bridesmaids with so much kindness.
I was referred to Kate from a friend and booked her for my hair and make up for my NYE 2022 wedding in February of 2021. I started reaching out multiple times a couple months before my wedding to set up a bridal trial and I didn’t hear back from her. I gave her the benefit of the doubt since it was a busy time of the year for weddings, but I started to get really nervous when it got to 30 days out from my wedding and I still hadn’t heard from her. I reached out through email, text, and voicemail and never heard back from her. I ended up scrambling very anxiously and finding new vendors with 2 weeks to spare before my wedding. I still never heard back from K Beauty with any explanation on why she ghosted me.
Kate did my makeup for my wedding on 9/30/22 and I have truly never felt more beautiful! She did a glam look while still making me look like myself which is exactly what I wanted. She also did my bridesmaids’ and my mom’s makeup and all of them loved her too! We got so many compliments on how great everyone looked and our makeup lasted and looked great throughout the entire reception. I can’t recommend Kate enough!

Kate did my hair and makeup for my wedding, and I could not have felt more beautiful! She made me feel like the best version of myself, and I seriously felt like a queen all day and night (even after dancing for 2+ hours at our reception).
I had requested a few changes coming out of my trial, and Kate nailed it on the day-of! My hair and makeup were absolutely perfect.
She did my bridesmaids' makeup as well as my sister-in-law and mom, and her assistant did everyone's hair. Everyone looked and felt amazing. Kate even accommodated a last-minute request from my mom, watching a few YouTube videos to help apply some eyelid tape my mom wanted to wear.
Kate is such a kind, fun, laid-back person, and her energy was such a welcome addition to the day. I cannot recommend her enough and will absolutely be using her for all of my future hair and makeup needs!
Kate is THE best makeup artist in Cincinnati! She makes you look like the best version of yourself, highlighting your best features while still maintaining a natural, fresh, and glowy look. I cannot recommend her more. Myself and all of my bridesmaids swear by her talent! HIRE HER NOW! She’s also super sweet, funny, and overall an amazing person.
Kate is the absolute best! Super easy and flexible to work with, very professional and everyones makeup looked flawless. I had a dozen+ people come up after the wedding to say that they had never seen a bride or bridal party makeup look so good before. 10/10 would book Kate again!
What can't I say about Kate? She is so personable and helped me remain calm during the getting ready process. She customized each of the makeup looks to each individual for the look they were going for. Everyone looked gorgeous. Thanks to Kate I felt incredibly beautiful on my wedding day!

I booked Kate shortly after booking my photographer. She was tagged in many of their photos and I could see how lovey the makeup looked, so I instantly reached out to book her for my engagement photos. I felt so glam that day that I ended up having Kate do my makeup again for my bridal shower and the wedding day! She helped me to pick between airbrush or traditional foundation based on my skin type and picked eye shadow/lip color based on my style. She was so much fun and easy going to have with us wedding morning, my bridesmaids and mother in law loved chatting with her while getting their make up done! Plus we all looked SO beautiful and our makeup lasted all day to end of the night! Thank you, Kate!

Kate is a total gem and so talented at both hair and makeup. At my bridal trial I showed her inspiration pics of what I was looking to achieve with my hair and makeup and she executed flawlessly. I knew my bridal party would love her on my wedding day, and oh did they! Half of the girls in my bridal party either have a specific way they like their makeup or don't really wear a lot of it. She worked with everyone's comfort level and made all of us feel SO beautiful - it was so humbling to look around and see the big smiles on everyone's faces looking at how beautiful Kate made them.
The day-of, she did the makeup for 7 girls and did my hair. She came in, owned our schedule, and made sure we were all ready in time for pictures. Kate is so amazing at what she does, and affordable. I highly recommend her anytime you need hair or makeup!
Kate is AMAZING!! She absolutely killed it on my wedding day, I loved my make up and it looked exactly like my inspo pics! Kate did my wedding day makeup and did an incredible job!! She is super responsive and helped us stay right on schedule all morning (which can be a task with 11 bridesmaids)! She listened to what I wanted and my makeup was perfect and lasted allll night!!
Kate was AMAZING! I reached out for a trial well before the wedding because I was nervous about getting my makeup done. I’ve had it professionally done in the past and always hated how unnatural it looked and didn’t ever feel beautiful or myself (def not what I wanted to feel like on my wedding day).
I walked in with little inspiration (mostly just nerves) and Kate just immediately felt like a friend and started to work her magic. She has a way of making you feel like you’ve been best friends for years and she’s just there with you having fun doing what she loves. Not only is she just wonderful to be around but she’s the best at what she does. My makeup was flawless each trial and looked BOMB on my wedding (all day and night) but I had a more challenging hair style with a head piece and thicker veil and she make it look beautiful yet so effortless.
Everything about having Kate apart of our day was amazing. She will make you look like the best version of yourself but also makes you feel loved and confident on the inside which is just who she is. 💗
I hired Kate as the makeup artist for my wedding and couldn't be happier with how our makeup turned out! She did such an amazing job and it lasted throughout the entire night. She arrived on time and worked diligently getting all 6 bridesmaids, myself, and my mom done on time. Everything was so easy, no one felt rushed, and everyones makeup looked BEAUTIFUL. Other make-up artists/companies I looked at were so expensive and I wanted to make it reasonable for not only me, but my bridal party. Our make-up looked better and was half the price. Highly highly highly recommend!
Kate was amazing for our bridal party make-up! She is friendly, professional and easy conversationalist. She has good intuition and could interpret my vision to make it work for me. I never felt more beautiful! Even on the hottest day this past summer, the make-up stayed through all the sweat and happy tears. I hope I can work with her again for special event make-up!
Kate was the best, shes a great person and makeup artist! She really pulled some awesome looks together and each loom worked well for each bridesmaid and she worked well with my day-of changes to my trial look. I felt absolutely stunning and the makeup stayed all day! Highly recommend!
Kate did my hair and makeup for my wedding day, and I couldn’t have been happier with how they both turned out. She responded to all messages very quickly and was very flexible with scheduling. During the trial, she listened to what I wanted and helped guide me in areas where I didn’t know what I wanted. My day of looked turned out exactly as practiced in the trial, and she was a great personality to have in the room as we got ready!!
Kate Sowder with K Beauty is one of the most knowledgable makeup artists in the Cincinnati area. She has a passion and a deep understanding of beauty and how it naturally and truly comes from within, allowing her appliqué to be a pure representation of that. She connects with people on a deeper level to find their most excitable and looked forward moments on their big day, no matter the occasion. I was a lucky bride who got married in tropical Jamaica, and Kate made sure that no amount of tears, sun, cake, water, cocktails, would ruin my look that night. From the beginning of the day to the big moment, Kate took her time with all of my girls to make sure they felt confident, sexy, and comfortable the whole time, each bobby-pin and every spritz. She takes your ideas and makes them come true in away that is the most flattering to your beautiful features. She just works magic.

Kate made the whole wedding experience! I mean makeup is a vital role in your wedding day. I was determined to find the best person. I truly think I found the best person! I have freckles and don’t wear a ton of make up on a day to day basis. I was nervous doing airbrush, because I feel like without my freckles I don’t look like myself. I told her I wanted to look like myself and keep it natural, but also hide all the imperfections. The whole way, she was never trying to push me to look a certain way. She explained everything she was doing and the purpose of it. I loved my makeup and I’m so thankful for that, because it is in all our pictures.
Kate is also so calm and reassuring. She made the wedding morning so relaxing. We created a schedule of people beforehand to make sure hair and makeup didn’t overlap for people. She responded quickly. She is trustworthy, sweet, and caring!
I recommend her to everyone!! I now have been in a bridesmaid and she is the makeup and hair person! She’s truly the best!! Highly recommend!

She canceled on me because someone in her family ended up getting engaged and set their date the same as mine AFTER I signed a contract with her. It’s a crappy move and for a ridiculous reason. Not to mention unprofessional.
Kate is the best! She made me feel so beautiful for my wedding. I had a trial with her before my wedding, where I showed her inspiration photos of the look I wanted for my wedding and she did great! There were a couple small tweaks I wanted for the wedding day and she did them perfectly! Not only is she so talented at hair and makeup, she also is so fun to spend time with and is kind, and loves what she does! She brought an assistant for my wedding day to do hair, Autumn, and she was great too! I will go back to Kate for any other events I want my hair or makeup done!
Felt amazing in my skin and glowed the entire evening. She made the perfect beach waves for the ceremony and then did a hair change midway through the day to pull my hair back with flowers into a beachy bun. Everyone told me I looked like a model and I could not be more thrilled with how everything turned out.

What I noticed about Kate different than other make up and hair artists is how she is willing to do whatever look YOU want, rather than pushing her "preferred style" on you. I had Kate do my makeup for a bridal photo shoot and I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent with Kate! Not only is she incredibly talented, but she’s so poised, professional & trustworthy!
I showed her inspiration photos for the look I was going for. She would let me check in the mirror during to make sure I loved it or wanted to change anything. And she nailed the look.
All of her brushes, tools, etc were clean and fresh. She even used disposable mascara wands! The small details matter to me! Her makeup itself was amazing quality and lasted from the time I put it on into the next day because I refused to take my eye shadow off because it looked so good!

She used quality products that lasted all day and night both with our hair and makeup.
I’d 10/10 recommend Kate to anyone. And I can’t wait for an excuse to get back up to Northern KY for a photo shoot so I have to see Kate again :)
